Re: Character Inspiration
For me, my character was designed after two people.
1. The initial character that inspired me was Hit-girl from the movie Kick-ass. I liked how she was "John Rambo meets Polly Pocket", and designed my character to be a young girl similarly.
2. The powers somewhat come from Kitty Pryde, from X-Men. While Kitty can go through any substance, walls, people, ect. Mist is more designed to have things go through or around her, which is the reverse. Unlike Kitty, she can't go through walls or solid objects.

Good catch. I actually didn't like the character of Mist much in the game, but she is depicted how I wanted Mist to be in all features.

Well I played Radiant Dawn and Path of Radiance, so I recognized her face but I wasn't sure about the name. Side note, Gatrie is a badass.

Screw that, I recalled how he was like before, Cell was my model for the original Nightkill. Quite a few changes have occurred since.

Re: Character Inspiration
Iron Man is my basic inspiration, sort of. Even though my character isn't made of Iron, I like the battles between two titans of massive power and durability. I initially created the character in High school, daydreaming as I often did. I thought to myself "Invent a hero that has never been invented".
It took me quite a while, surprisingly, since my options eventually dwindled to an "Element" for me. Fire, Water, Wind, Earth. Of course, there are characters with Speed, Mind control, Telekinetisis, Bullets/swords. Not all necessarily harbor an element. But I started thinking of elements. Eventually I liked the Sulfur. A rock substance that was flammable. Naming the character was just something witty, as usual. I couldn't just call him "Mr. Sulfur". I thought the Fur part of Sulfur went well with Fury.
Sul-Fury. It clicks. I made him on City of Heroes, as many of you did. But I made him wrong (Blaster instead of tank), and got bored way too easily. (Quit at level 20)

Re: Character Inspiration
I didn't realize it was such a common practice here to make characters based off other characters.
Metis actually is based directly of another character: Metis. Okay yeah I'll explain. This isn't the first time I've used the name Metis for a character. Metis is one of my favorite characters I created a long time ago, and I had been itching to play her again. I was originally going to adapt Metis for use in this setting, but I ended up with a different character sharing her name, although her appearance is very much based on Metis. Her darkvision is also similar to what the original has. The original Metis is a nightmare given sentience. Her human form is assumed, and she can shift and partially shift between that and her nightmare form. She had the power to radiate fear, and the more fear she had to feed off the stronger she became. I guess I could have changed the name to make things less confusing, but I kind of see the characters I make on here as separate from my regular characters.
Quinn is based off of what I think a leader of heroes is like. Maybe it isn't too accurate because I don't read comics, but the inspiration while making him was characters like the leader of the X-men and such.

I am afraid I am not familiar with your Quinn character, But as for Cyclops (the leader of the X-men),Metis wrote:I didn't realize it was such a common practice here to make characters based off other characters.

"The reluctant leader of the X-Men who shoots concussive blasts from his eyes. Cyclops has been deputy leader of the X-Men since his teen years, and has seen the team go through a myriad of changes. Most of the team attended his second wedding, and the same group attended his wife's funeral. A brilliant tactician, Scott eventually became a natural commander of all mutants left on the planet after M-Day, leading them through some of the hardest times in their lives."- Marvel wiki database
I remember watching an episode of Smallville I believe, and seeing someone with the ability to manipulate glass a bit. I figured this was a very original idea and decided I would love to run with this idea someday.

Ah. well I didn't mean cyclops I meant professor X. Quinn is more of a thinker and positive figure than a fighter.

Re: Character Inspiration
yeah he doesn't do that anymore. Not since he was exposed as an asshole in the deadly genesis story arc.
I don't see him as a positive figure anyway, but I suppose you could compare them to Reed Richards (Mr.fantastic).

Re: Character Inspiration
that is a different continuity entirely. A different "reality" if you will. X-23 is now in the 616 universe comics, and she originated from that show. I guess she was so damn popular they felt she should still keep going on.
