The Assault (NO VACANCY)

Slam caught each of the blades, overpowering the demon with some effort. As Obsidior's kick connected Slam saw the opportunity for attack. He hoisted the demon in the air by the blades and brought the Incubus down hard onto the pavement.

As Slamfist raised the demon into the air, Dhiren realized what he was about to do. As Slam brought the demon down to the pavement, Dhiren brought a pillar of stone up to strike the demon in the back of the head, hoping to stun it. After forming the pillar, Dhiren lifted up another chunk of pavement to use as a shield against the demon's fire.

This done, Dhiren began to mold the earth beneath him into a golem, which would be ready to spring up if the demon made a move. (Note: the golem is forming beneath the level of the ground, so characters can't see it directly. X-ray vision or other supernatural senses might be able to see it, though.)

The Red hot blades burnt some scars into Slamfists gloves as he caught the demon. Whether or not the scars hurt slamfist himself was how well the gloves performed as a heat sink. otherwise they would act as an oven. The Incubus yelled as he was slammed in to the pavement in multiple directions. The lesser demons converged on the three heroes. Attacking and swarming and showing strength in numbers. The sun had set and the light was terrible to spot the many demons. The Incubus pushed himself up coursing demonic energy into his flames, making the flames black and unable to emit light. It crossed his arms and then yelled ferociously as he flexed his arms. There was a massive force field of demonic energy. As he did so he turned invisible. and started to fly, letting the lesser demons do something about fighting the heroes.

Obsidior held his arms out from his body as they emitted green light, illuminating the battlefield. A wave of green energy ripple through the air blasting the lesser demons from Obsidior, Obsidior was the epicenter of rushing green energy.

With a moment to breath Obsidior formed a ball of energy and shot it in the air, acting much like a night light, it was better than nothing.

A rift opened near Slamfist, who's gloves weren't really damaged at all. After a very short chat, ending with Slamfist saying "Watch out for her all right, mate," and disappearing into the rift, Overmind closed the rift. He surveyed the area keeping a close eye on the demons, finally deciding to lift a nearby stop sign from the ground and slicing several of the Hellspawn asunder.

As Dhiren was surrounded by demons, he decided it was time to unleash his golem. The front-runner demons were caught off-gaurd as four massive limbs burst from the ground. The golem rose from the earth, four-armed and monolithic in size. It began to throw demons everywhere.

With his back to the flailing golem, Dhiren decided to turn his asphalt shield into a weapon instead. Spinning it like a misshapen saw blade, he whirled it around himself in a devestating semi-circle. Unable to make much out in the dim light and not knowing exactly where the demons were coming from, Dhiren resigned himself to killing every demon in his sight.

Compressing several large pieces of stone into a crude bludgeon, Dhiren formed several makeshift walls of earth, hoping to funnel the demons into fighting him one-on-one rather than all at once.

Standing back to back with his golem wielding several smaller demons like flails, Dhiren hoped to hold out against the horde.

The small demons never took heed to the light, the Incubus demon commanded them to charge. Even though a yell was coded into a yell, the lesser demons knew what the Incubus demon wanted. His opposition, Dead. The now invisible demon charged into the light ball with great speeds with his arm blades into the light Trying to shatter the light but failed because it was energy. he passed right through it. His dark aura protected him from any damage it could've done to him. . and then he curved, not at Obsidior, who would be the smartest choice to attack as to keep the light out, or slamfist, who was distracted with overmind, but rather at Dhurian, who was killing the most amount of his minions at the time, he slammed into one of the walls, Missing the golem and breaking the wall. He had the momentum to keep charging through the other wall, possibly with dhiruan. It was all about how he reacted to his attack.

Blackout glided smoothly through the air over the streets of New York, masses of screaming civilians crowded the streets fleeing. Increasing his speed Black headed toward what seemed to be the epicenter of the chaos, central park. He came to a halt looking over the terrifying scene below, an army of demons were terrorizing the park below. A few super humans were scattered amongst the horde fighting valiantly against the odds, but battle looked bleak.

Before Blackout could fully take in the scene below he was struck by what he could have sworn was a bus. A large winged demon had tackled him in mid air dragging him down to the ground. Black struggled trying to break it's hold but it began to dig its large talons began dig into his back, Blackout couldn't over power the demon with brute force. As the sea of monstrosity below grew nearer Black knew he had to act fast. Clenching every muscle in his body he sent forth a shock wave of electricity knocking the demons hold loose. Taking this chance Blackout brutally punched the demon feeling its bones breaking under the force of the blow. He then grabbed its tail and flung it downward toward the ground below.

Blood ran down from the punctures that ran down either side of his back. Deciding that he might as well take his mind off the pain Blackout dove down to join the battle below. Landing feet first onto the back of a weaker demon Black crushed its spinal column (or whatever demons have in their backs) under his weight. Shocked by his sudden appearance the creatures turned and encircled him and began closing in. Black smiled as the cool calm that he was accustomed to during battle rolled over him. Reaching out his arms he unleashed two devastating blasts mowing down a least a dozen of the smaller demons.

Obsidior's attack never stopped, wave after wave of green energy emitted from his body, wiping out any demon that came near him. Obsidior's power was draining from putting out this much energy, but he couldn't relent.

A stream of blood trickled from Obsidior's nose, he needed to take a break, with that thought the waves stopped and in it's place a wave of bodies rose from the ground and huddled around the necromancer, giving him a much needed break.

Dhiren was a whirlwind. Swinging the club with both his earth powers and his physical strength, every swing sent demons flying into the walls. Just as he was downing a particularly nimble little gremlin of a demon, he heard a rushing sound. The sound was getting louder and louder, and he realized what it was a split second too late.

Dhiren knew almost instinctively that the safest place for him when an unknown danger was closing in was underground. Unfortunately, just as he began to sink the ground beneath him, the Incubus demon burst through the wall just above and in front of him. The larger pieces of superheated shrapnel flew overhead, but a few pieces of sharp stone tore through his upper right arm.

As the invisible demon crashed through the other wall Dhiren had erected (killing several smaller demons on his way through), the hero acted fast. First covering his wounds with earth to stem the bleeding, he shouted at the four-armed golem, "Cover me!" As the massive golem turned to defend Dhiren from the smaller demons, he prepared for combat with the new arrival. By overturning the earth on either side of the crater where he hoped the enemy still lay, Dhiren attempted to trap his foe underground, where he would have the advantage.

The incubus swerved upwards from the ground. It was too low and risked crashing if he didn't. As Dhiren pulled up another wall to trap, the Incubus demon clipped the edge of the wall, breaking it slightly and doing some damage to him as well. If Dhiren could tell how the rock broke, he could tell which way he was going. The attack left a lot of dirt on the Incubus demon, leaving a crumb trail up to the latest location. Slamfist has left, and he was unaware of blackout. Overmind was not deemed a threat to him so far. He ignored him.

As for Obsidior. He had his work cut out for him. There was a myriad of demons swarming, and more pouring out of the portal like water. The density of demons was so much that convergence was no longer an option, there was barely any room, even in the skies.

They spread outward, outside of new York city. There would be a lot of cleanup after this. Even if there was a victory of the heroes, even if raide was killed, the demons posed a higher casualty count than raide has done so far. New york was almost completely slaughtered. Everyone who lived, Everyone who hears this tale. This story to the common people would not be about how raide and the superheroes fought. It would be about how Hell was brought upon the earth, and by some chance of divine intervention, they were saved. Raide would be erased from this storytale that would be
told to their children to keep their behaviors in check. Only a select few would know the real truth about raide, the hand of justice, and the fall of the prince of darkness.

Obsidior watched from above, demons though great in number lacked in intelligence this is how Obsidior had to beat them. He was high up looking down at the huge mass of hell-spawn. Obsidior's hands moved faster than the blink of an eye as he shifted them to his side, and began to charge. "Time to end this." he said under his breath, instead of turning his attention to the demons, he aimed it at the portal in which they originated. Obsidior fired a huge blast hurdling towards the portal in an attempt to disable it.

Overmind needed to take attention off of the others. He grabbed a nearby demon by it's head and focused. It couldn't break from his stare, even as Overmind's eyes rolled into the back of his head. Simple beings these demons were, his next move would be simple, but tiring. Overmind's eyes flashed blue, the demon's followed shortly there after, followed by every other demon in the immediate area. Demon's head began to pop, but not the one Overmind held, it was his conduit, and if he could maintain this concentration, all the demons would die, and only one would know how.

A bright light slashes through a demon and as the demon falls to the ground writhing in pain but not dead yet another stomps its head in and takes its place. Saberlight cant hold out much longer. He castes his sheild and hopes it will holds till help or any one arives. The demons pound and beat apon the light sheild. Saberlight muters under his breathe, Dam what the hell are you son of a bitches? As a large demon slames its head against his sheild almost making it fade.

The demon's just outside of Saberlight's shield began to hold their head's in pain stopping their attack on the new hero. One by one their heads popped, showering Saberlight's shield in a thick crimson paste.

Saberlight peered to his side and saw demons head poping like over cooked jiffy pop popcorn as brain matter and bits of bone and flesh rain down from where heads once were. It was like mars attack alien brain poping to loud wierd music kind of pop....as Saberlight driffs into one of his long summuries of how they poped......A demon that had not poped yet slames his fist against the shield and it snaps Saberlight back to the what realy going on. Saberlight refocuses the sheild to detonate and as the next demon goes to hit it a bright flash of light and all there was brunt chared demons, their flesh peeled from their bones and the demons that were not with in the blast look as if they have a horrid sunburn as the blisters the size of grapefruit started to apear on their bodies. Saberlight drops to his knees form useing so much energy. but as his eyes started to go blury he saw a man with blazing blue eyes holding a demons head in his hands off in the distance. he said something but it is to late Saberlight blacked out.
