"Hey," Macie said, smiling as she walked up to Eduard. She studied him for a moment, hip cocked out at an angle. "Yeah, you look better when you're not singed." Macie teased. She glanced at the door of the building, then looked back at Eduard. "Should we go in?"

"Yeah, let's go on in." Ed opened the door for his lady friend and proceeded in after her. "You look rather dashing yourself, even even if we forget the fact that you just raced through a burning building." Ed walked up to the bar and greeted the keep, Harold. "I'll be paying for me and the shiela. Just gimme a couple bottles of vodka mate." Ed turned his attention to Macie, "And what'll you have shiela?"

"Thank you, on both accounts." Macie said as she led the way through the doors. She followed Eduard up to the bar, nodding at the man standing there when he took Eduard's order. "Vodka's fine with me." Macie smiled, turning to Eduard as he went off to get them drinks. "Do you come here often?"

"Nah, like I said, I usually drink at home. But Harry's always been real friendly, especially since I bought the place to keep it from going under." Ed chuckled, "And when I do come here I usually pay for his family vacation in drinks."

Harry came back with several bottles in hand, giving a bottle to Ed and pouring shots for Macie. Ed screwed the top off of his bottle and began drinking his 120 proof "Ketel One."

Macie picked up one of the shots, and threw it back, swallowing hard before she spoke. "That's nice of you," She smiled as he took a swig from the bottle, "I haven't been out like this for forever. I usually work, meet no one, or drink alone at my house." Macie grabbed another shot, and swirled it around, thinking for a moment before downing that as well.

Ed was down to half a bottle now, "Well I figure if I got the money why not help someone out. I'm not really using it for much anyway. Hell, even with half of my money going directly to charity I still got more than I know what to do with." He smiled at her other comment, "I don't get out much either. I only got a hand full of blokes I consider actual friends. So I don't really go out drinking much, it usually just me and them at one of our places."

"Charity?" Macie raised an eyebrow, "You don't really seem the type. But hey, what do I know? I just met you." She grinned, taking her last shot and swallowing it in one solid gulp. "How did you keep your powers in check for your career?" Macie asked, pouring herself some more.

"I don't know. They really didn't show themselves until about a year or so after I retired." Ed seemed to go distant before speaking again, "I'd rather not speak about that night though." Ed resumed his previous laid back expression quickly, "Just so you know, I'm offended. Why don't I look like a generous type exactly."

Macie blushed, “I don’t know. I guess I was quick to assume you were like all of the other celebrities, and just donated to charity for a good public image.” She stared into her lap, drinks momentarily forgotten. Looking back up after a second, Macie shook her head. “I’m sorry for offending you, I’m not usually this robust.” Her face went a darker shade of pink as she took another shot glass and filled it to the brim.

"Don't worry. I wasn't being serious. It's not like it was the worst thing thrown my way. And at least you had something to base it on." Ed was on her last comment now. "I'm actually glad you feel comfortable around me. I'd rather this than you be all intimidated and shy."

"Well, I usually am. It must be the alcohol." Macie smiled, sipping some of the vodka off the top of the glass before swallowing it all. "I haven't had this much for a long time, guess it's effecting me more." She turned the glass on the counter, watching the reflections of the crystal dance over the wood.

Eduard was well into his second bottle now. "I told you. Not a man I know can beat me in the game of drink." Ed placed his hand lightly on Macie's shoulder, "You gonna be ok shiela?"

"Yeah, I'll be fine." Macie nodded,"Like I said, I just haven't had this much to drink in a while, combined with you, and having not gone out for a long time..." She grinned sheepishly, "Can't be helping."

Ed smiled. He wasn't really sure if she was hitting on him or not, but it was sounding that way. Too bad she was getting drunk, it meant the night would end too early. "Well slow up anyway." Ed stood up and offered Macie his hand, "Care to dance shiela?"

"Anything to clear my head." Macie said, taking Eduard's hand and letting him lead the way. "But I would have danced with you even if I hadn't been drinking." She turned to face him, hand still grasping his, a smile tugging the corners of her mouth upward.

"It's not that I thought you needed to be drunk. I'm actually trying to slow that down." Ed turned his head to the DJ, "Play something slow."
