THE LIST
In an obscure conference room within Taipei 101 behind a door with a plaque labeled "The List" sat a simple secretary behind a desk. She sat up with perfect posture and her hands folded neatly on the luxurious wooden surface. To her right was a folder with a single piece of paper in it, and to her left was a binder with a list of objects. Objects that are far from average. A legendary collection waiting to be. The List has only recently surfaced, but is gaining much momentum in the Black Market and other unground worlds. Collectors around the world hiding their valuables that may have appeared on the list. Public locations on the list have begun shutting down tours and visiting hours. Investing millions into heavier protection, insurance, and/or various levels of almost unnecessary security. Drug Lords, Mafia Bosses, and even corporation CEOs offering top dollar for these items so that they may use them for their own gain, or just so that they can obtain the recognition for themselves. Things from impossibilities such as Neutron Star material to just simply a rare bottle of liquor. Items once not even known to the highest of authorities in the world, now becoming practically common knowledge. The composer of the list has remained anonymous, but has their hands in every matter regarding the list. Anyone and everyone is welcomed to attempt to obtain any of the items listed. The single piece of paper in the folder is a waiver for the applicants to sign. In short, it states that the objects are incredibly difficult to obtain and that the employer cannot be held liable for any death or injury resulting in any effort made to acquire any object listed. After signing the waiver, the applicant will be given a registration bonus and then magically bound to the object of their choosing. This is for tracking purposes and notifications of any changes in rules, their item, or if they need to be contacted by the receptionist or the Creator. More than one applicant can be in search in the same object, where as there are multiple of certain objects that can be obtained more than one. If the selected item it taken by a non-applicant, they will be notified. There is no time limit on obtaining the object. The magical binding can be broken through various methods, including the item being taken by a non-applicant, if applicant dies, or if they revisit the office in Taipei 101 and speak with the receptionist.
Upon a successful retrieval of the selected item, they are to return the room in Taipei 101 with the item completely in tact and in the form requested. There they will receive their compensation and opportunity to attempt and retrieve another item. The items are ranked in three different tiers depending on their difficulty to obtain. Tier one and two receives the highest amount of compensation, recognition and a recommendation to join an organization known as 'BlackList', while tier three has the least amount of compensation and little to no recognition. Completing any task on the list will earn you exclusive opportunities with employers from this world, and others.
There are some specifics dealing with the location of the list. The room is in fact located in the Taipei 101 building, however the inside of the room cannot be teleported to, it cannot be teleported out of. Use of any supernatural abilities by sentient beings, except the receptionist, is rendered null. The physical location of the inside of the room is a very tiny bubble universe attached to the edge our current universe. The list cannot be destroyed, replicated, or removed from the room. Items retrieved are stored in a location currently only known to the creator of the list. The receptionist will screen applicants in order to ensure the item they are selecting is appropriate for their skill level. She will also authenticate all items brought back to the office.
Below is the list of available items for retrieval, categorized by difficulty. Tier Three is the least difficult, Tier Two is medium difficulty, and Tier One items are at a extreme difficulty, far beyond that of the previous two tiers. Some items may turn out to be more difficult to obtain than initially stated.

Post here with how your character may have found out about the list, arriving at Taipei 101, and their selection of an item. You may use the receptionist NPC in choosing an item so that you do not need to wait for me or another member to post. Please use the topic made for retrieving the item to also post the return to the office so that we do not crowd this topic too much. Re: The List (Open)
It is 11 o'clock in the morning.
A distinguished looking young man sits in starbucks on the ground floor of Taipei's 101 building, dressed in a black suit with a navy shirt, the top two buttons of the shirt undone, he sips his coffee, ice blue eyes staring out at the foyer, looking for all the world like a foreign business man just getting his morning started.
In actuality, behind those eyes, the mans brain is working overtime, taking in and assessing all entries and exits to the building as well as the security in place. You see this man was no ordinary business man, his name is James Murphy and his business is assassination.
Looking down at his watch, James swigs down the last of his coffee and stands, striding out of starbucks and towards the stairs, not trusting the enclosed lift.
Making his way down the stairs James stops at the 4th floor below ground, his contact having told him this was the place. Opening the door James scans the corridor beyond, only progressing once he is sure it is safe to do so.
Moving his way along the corridor he eventually comes to an out of the way corner of the building, a fairly innocuous looking door standing in front of him with "The List" wrote on the Door.
'So this is the place, no more common enforcement, I'll finally get a challenge and the recognition to bring in more lucrative contracts,' James thinks to himself.
Cautiously James opens the door, peering into the room, he sees a rather fancy looking wooden desk, behind which sat a rather bored looking woman.
James enters the room and slowly closes the door before pacing toward the desk, his leather shoes making little to no noise as he walked, all the while surreptitiously assessing the layout of the room, his left hand never moving far from his concealed dagger at his hip.
Stopping at the desk, James stands with his hands behind his back, outwardly seeming relaxed, but still coiled to strike should the situation call for it. As he stares down at the Secretary before him, James says, "Good morning, it is my belief that your employer is looking to obtain some hard to get merchandise. I have come in response to that Job offer"
Looking up the Secretary smiles at James and motions to the list in front of her, "Take your pick, sir."
Picking up the list James runs his eye down the items, eventually looking up and saying, "I will obtain the Gold from Fort Knox."
"Very Well Mr..?" replies the secretary.
"I go by the Code name Conduit"
"Very well Mr Conduit. Once the Gold is in your possession you may return it here and you will receive your finders fee," says the secretary, still sporting that ever present smile.
James looks at the young woman condescendingly, at the "Mr Conduit" comment and turns on his heel, marching off toward the door, stopping at the door to say, "I will return presently with the gold...Have my fee ready," only then sweeping through the door and back down the corridor.
Back out on the street James hails a cab and once in the cab takes out his phone and phones up his personal pilot, saying "Have the jet ready, Mr Sterling, we leave for America..."

Re: The List (Open)
yup, this is the place Jeannie looks at the building, sure is big hope they have an elevator she'd hate to go up that many steps. She pulls a paper out and looks a the ad she saw that brought her here.
huh doesn't say which floor this could take awhile. She goes in and wonders about the building looking for the right room. Sure is fancy wonder why you'd need a building with this many rooms. Feeling lost she finally gets a break and hears a man talking about the list. Assuming their list are the same she follows his voice.
When she gets there a room marked the list. She finds the source of the voice a man in a black suit, looks like she was right about this being one of them professional places. Normally more a casual dresser When she saw the big fancy meeting place she thought dressing up more would be a good idea. So she was dressed in black suit finding that he was dressed similarly amusing.
By him is a lady behind a desk, she most be who there here to see. She goes over to them. hey there II'm here for the job thing in the paper. She shows the woman the paper with an add about someone needing a treasure hunter.
She looks over to the man and smiles
hello are you here for the job two. pretty neat huh getting paid to go on a scavenger hunt? Should be fun!

so after signing the waiver thingy guess some of this stuff's pretty dangerous if you gotta sign a permission slip. they guys will love her then since she's really good at surviving should be near death situations. ok climb mount Everest and bring back some snow, Jeannie says good by to the receptionist and sets off on her quest.wait how is she supposed to bring it back without it melting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

after finishing eating her pancakes Jeannie heads off to the Taipei 101 building to drop of the snow.she goes to find the receptionist and gives her the freeze machine and the instructions for it to keep the for it to keep the snow frozen upon collecting her compensation for the job. Jeannie is amused by the idea of being probably the first bounty hunter to claim a bounty on snow.
oh well now what do,she sees a candy store! perfect Jeannie gets a big bag of treats. sucking on on a giant lollipop she starts back home wondering what her next adventure will be.

Re: The List (Open)
It was again another crowded street in New York and it seemed like everyone was enjoying their selves especially after the massive war that had wiped New York City clean. It was a big turn around from ashes and smoke to; ruble and clear skies. It was the biggest clean up in history and people are still being discovered till this day. Why did the war break out on such a place, but it was not the time. A random hunch came over him like bad breakfast as if he knew what that was. He was in the crime central where many stolen object were sold for personal money, but when he seen a list of things on a paper he felt a little ill. What was that list? He had to find out.
----------
Sometime later he was in route for a location known as Taipei's 101 which seemed to be a building. And he did not fly non stop to come to a hoax of some random persons idiocy.
Coroenl's sensory ability kicks in as a meta human with ill intents started poaching in closer to his space. The Guy was in the crowd and seemed like he was in a hurry to get somewhere, but why not follow since he could feel another meta human closing in the same way. He looked around but the girl was much farther behind and wouldn't get to this building before they probably left. He looked and kept watch on the guy as he enjoyed his beverage, but it seemed he was more intuit to his surroundings since he would glance at the exits many times over; then back to the cameras. This guy seemed very paranoid and he wanted to find what about, but it was best not to follow until he moved.
Coronel took a few drinks from a flask of whiskey. It did not burn like it would hope but it still tasted amazing. Funny he is not ambushed by people who may have thought he might be under age.
As time went by he caught himself playing with the sugar, but shouldn't have since it only been 5 minutes... Coronel was not patient and decided to get up, but when he did the guy got up and turned for a staircase.
"Way to go moron. Good way to fuck up everything" he thought as he placed his hands on a counter and sent a telekinetic wave through the building to keep track of his friend. Seems just right that the girl would get there as the guy was entering a room. His ability could tell him the room said "The List", but what was important was the people inside. Seemed he knew them from somewhere.
He followed with about 10 feet from the girl to keep an easy pace. She was lost... But no problem. She found her way to the same room like the guy did. This list was becoming more interesting.
He turned down the hall as he seen the other guy exit. He had a cold stare as if he already pissed Coronel off, but he would keep walking right into the room. He opened the door letting himself in and seeing a familiar face. So the girl he was following was, her? Jeannie is he recalled, but he was not sure she would recognize so he resumed to picking the first thing that popped out to him. Uh I'll do that one... Poseidon's Trident . He was not to worried about the people in the room right now he just stood there arms crossed as they took in his choice.

Re: The List (Open)
The clicking of a key in a lock resounded in a dark, empty room. As the door swung open, Jardin walked in, dressed in a dark gray suit and holding a briefcase. The thief had just returned from a deal over a case of stolen diamonds, a small shipment from Africa that he had decided to make unprofitable for whichever Warlord needed guns...
A heel to shut the door and Jardin could still see the room clearly. It was a dive of a hotel room, functioning as a hideout for the time being.
Jardin quickly dropped his cash on the foot of a pair of beds as he passed towards the bathroom. Negotiating with black marketeers always left him feeling dirty and he intended to take a shower. As he passed a dining-room-style table, Jardin removed his jacket and slung it over the back of one of the chairs. Only when he reached the door to the bathroom did he stop and turn around.
Resting on the table was a small flash drive that had not been there whe he left. Returning to the small dinning nook, or whatever it was called, Jardin took the drive and headed to the bed with his go-bag under it. It contained a small, low maintenance laptop and the thief wanted to know who was interested enough in him to not only find him, but also break into a room and leave such an odd present.
------------------------------------------
Taipei 101, once the world's tallest skyscraper. Now it housed an odd source of interest for a thief like Cory Jardin.
Jardin entered the room that the flash drive had directed and found a rather odd situation. "Are you...hiring?" he asked as he looked around the room.
The secretary gave Jardin a polite nod as the thief stepped forward. Dressed in his suit again, Jardin looked more like a businessman or a handler than a burglar. Still, he skimmed the List like a man who belonged here.
Amidst curiosities and oddities, Jardin saw a number of things he did not understand or recognize. He almost pointed at something random. Then he spotted a name amid the items at the second tier. "I know that name," Jardin said. "I'll handle this one," he told the secretary. He soon found himself signing the waiver and just like that, he was done...
He was off to steal the blood of an Idol.

Re: The List (Open)
Dire has walked by this damn building a thousand times.
As Dire met a few superheroes on his last adventure, he has learned to appreciate people more.
Bad career move for a killer, but hey... If the boot fits...
He doesn't kill for fun, though. He does it to pay the bills AND to stay alive.
He had heard about this strange list from the crazy Jeannie Rose. He almost questioned its existence because of that too, yet he figured she couldn't make something like this up... Right?
He looked up to see the building named: Taipei 101.
"I have a feeling that I'm not gonna be welcome here..."
He looked at his outfit from the glass doors.
Everyone who's seen him in civy clothes say he's got a strange sense of style, he didn't know what wrong with his outfit.
He wore a black snap back, aviator sunglasses, a black leather jacket, a green t-shirt underneath, his watch, black jeans, and black and green basketball shoes.
Maybe it was the leather jacket mixed with his beige skin...
He shook off the thoughts and went behind the building.
He willed himself to go to "The List"
He jolted back. Something had literally blocked him from 'porting to it!
He stood up and shook his head, "So THATS what it feels like to be in a V8 commercial... I knew I shoulda had one..."
He had no idea if the list is what blocked him, but something did. He was gonna find out what...
Dire had finally found the right floor, and layed on the floor.
The place was empty from what he could see... Just the door with big shiny plaque that said "The List".
All he could see was a neon sign that said: MONEY!!!
He walked in to see a lady sitting behind a desk, acknowledging him with a slight nod.
When he stopped at the desk, she gave a sophisticated,"How may I help you?"
"I heard there was a grocery list that some stuffy millionaire needed help with?"
"Take your pick..." She nodded to the binder.
He flipped through the pages making jokes about some.
Angelina Jolie's cheekbones: "Why the hell would you need those?" He laughed.
Agent Daniel's Car: "Hah! Poor Daniels! That's what he gets for having nice things..."
Thor's Hammer: "What if its TOO heavy?"
Rozmer's Lighter: "DAMMIT!!! I could have gotten that!!!"
He decided he couldn't pick any of those and decided to go with the thing that no one knows if it even exists.
He walked over to the desk,
"Why weren't your dinner plans on there?" He half joked
She let a small grin go across her face, "Trust me, that would be at Tier 1."
"Oh playing hard to get, huh?"
"You have no idea." She then got down to business "What is your choice?"
"I guess I'll take the Slender Man's tie."
"Okay you're all set!" She smiled "What should I call you?"
"Call me Dire! I'm bringing cofee next time I come here!" He called on his way out.
He teleported to the back of the building, and went to go home.
To find out how to find the legend: Slender Man.

Re: The List (Open)
“You know, to be partaking in such scandalous, such incriminating mischief in the open like this,” Cecil says in a comfortable drawl as he looks around the bare room, slowly walking towards the receptionist, “says a LOT about style, about showmanship. And believe me, my dear: I am ALL about showmanship.” The man looks to the woman at the counter, expecting some sort of reply but is greeted by a fake smile and a single nod.
Cecil removes his tall, shiny black top hat in one hand, then gestures wide with both arms out. “Regardless! I love what you’ve done with the place. Very minimalist, very mysterious. It absolutely SCREAMS silence, hmhmmhmmm.”
The older man is a stocky fellow, around 5-and-a-half feet with a round body and similarly round face, wearing a keenly-maintained goatee and a magnificent, poofy handlebar moustache that extends outwards past his cheeks. His white-gray hair is immaculately kept - short and parted down the middle - and he is dressed splendiferously from head to toe in black slacks, shiny black riding boots, a brilliant red coat and white shirt, complete with a sharp black bow tie around his neck.
Cecil H. Macintyre, crazy criminal mastermind and ringleader to the Carnival of Crime.
“But, I did not travel all the way to Taiwan in order to discuss Feng Shui. No no, I travelled all the way to Taiwan because I heard rumours, my dear. Rumours of an enigmatic broker and a most curious list of treasures, with rewards paid to their finders.” Briefly holding his hat under one arm, Cecil carefully removes his white gloves and folds them away in his inner coat pocket. He points a stubby finger to the binder, looking between it and the receptionist a few times. “Is this it? May I see?”
The woman nods plainly once, motioning to the binder with a practiced be-my-guest gesture. Cecil places his black top hat upon the desk, then scoops up the binder and begins flicking through the pages, humming and hawing quietly at the items described within.
“... Hmmm, yes I see. Fascinating...”
“... Ooh! Haha, who could ever imagine it was real all along!”
“... Pshh. Who would pay money for THAT horrible old thing? Honestly.”
As Cecil browses he idly chit-chats with the woman, though the dialogue is mostly one-way. “You know, I would LOVE to be introduced to the person - or persons! - who devised such an eccentric list. I am CONFIDENT there is a story worth telling. I don’t suppose they happen to be on the premises?” He peers over the edge of the current page to the woman, who simply returns a dull, stone silent gaze. “... Hmph, yes well we’re all busy nowadays aren’t we...”
“Oh, hello there...” Cecil pauses on a page. A grin creeps across his chubby face, causing his moustache to raise its ends up, and he then returns the binder to the desk. The page is open to show the Bottle of Henry IV Dudognon Heritage Cognac Grande Champagne.
“My dear, consider this item as good as seized!” Cecil says with a flourish, tap-tapping his finger on the open page. “In fact, I dare say the only true challenge shall be ensuring I do not drink the bottle myself. Hah-HA!” The receptionist nods, smiling politely as always, and slides over the necessary waiver given to all hopeful item-snatchers.
“We are not responsible for any injury you may incur,” the receptionist explains as Cecil signs on the dotted line, “and no additional help will be provided in tracking the item in question.”
“Worry not, madam.” Cecil says as he strides to the door, putting his gloves on and resting his top hat upon his head. “As a professional pilferer, I always keep an eager eye on the world of extravagantly expensive collectibles...”
“And it just so happens I know where to find what we’re looking for.”

Re: The List (Open)
"General, darling. I'll be heading out, hold the fort down for me if you would?" Her robotic counterpart gave a nod as Elena Vexus exited her humble home, set for a trip to Taiwan. The ride to the airport was brief. She only had a single large handbag with her for travel, so security was simple. First class accommodations, per usual. The flight took quite some time, having only one connecting flight. The international airport was a busy one, and it was actually a bit worrying. Elena was simply blending in, or at least attempting to. Her outfit most certainly said that she was out of town.
She reached the transportation platform and was hailing a cab. As she was stepping into the vehicle, someone bumped into her. Elena set her bag in the car and asked the driver to just wait for a moment. She snapped her fingers and a child no older than sixteen was almost magnetically pulled into her clutches. Looking over her sunglasses, she glared the child in the face. The color left the poor thing's face as he slowly handed her back the wallet he managed to snatch from her bag. She opened up the wallet and handed the child what would be equivalent to 10 US Dollars.
"If you ask for what you desire, people may surprise you..." she said to him in a language he would be able to process.
Some of the fear began to leave the child, they almost felt as if they could trust the American looking lady.
"But you're aware of your situation and your actions..." giving another glare as she sat in the taxi, closed the door, and set off for her destination.
As the car drove away, the child stared at the taillights wondering what she may have meant. The moment the thought crossed their mind they felt a sharp pain in their chest. They clenched their heart and fell to their knees. Their breathing hastened and they began to sweat. No one in the busy city took any notice. Some thought they were faking to try and steal some more. Others didn't care to notice, turning a blind eye or simply not knowing what to do. The child wouldn't die. They would experience pain, discomfort, and probably crippling despair. They may even think that those were his last moments, but they would live on. Make no mistake though, Vexus is not above killing children, but she does not kill without a purpose...
After a lengthy drive filled with smog, broken air conditioning car units, and smog, she finally arrived at her destination. Taipei 101. One of the tallest buildings in the world, fascinating protection against earthquakes. Quite the modern marvel. Elena had spent enough time in this country as is and just needed to get her objective and be on her way. She took the speedy elevator to a very specific and very empty floor. Vexus make very special and explicit care to guarantee that no one was on even on this floor during this exchange. After making her way though the winding hallways she finally arrived at a door. "The List" it was labeled. She entered.
The receptionist greeted her with a friendly yet familiar hello.
"Welcome. You may make your selection from the list presented."
She scrolled through the familiar pages of the infamous list, stopping her finger on a Tier 2 item. Not too hot, not too cold. Just right.
"The Dokan."
"Wonderful choice, ma'm."
The receptionist slid over the paperwork to sign, and Elena complied placing her autograph on the parchment. The lady at the deck looked over the information before responding.
"Thank you for participating Ms....!!"
She looked up at the woman in sunglasses almost gasping.
-glup-"Ms.Vexus... We look forward to your return where you shall receive appropriate compensation." the woman was now visibly nervous, her tone was even shaky.
"Thank you dear, I'm sure I'll see you again soon..."
Vexus turning, and made her exit. Her heels echoing with their iconic click on every step. Once she entered the elevator she pulled out a cellphone from her purse and dialed a number.
"Hello, General dear. Book me the next flight to LA, and meet me there...... Yes, usual accommodations, you how I like to travel. We have a target to obtain. And yes! I am going in person. Exciting, I know. Hopefully they'll show us a little fun..."
------------------------------
Vexus and her team made it back to Taipei 101 and reproached the room where The List is located.
"Ms. Vexus. Back so soon. I suppose I should have expected nothing less."
Elena said not a word as she handed over the desired sword. There was a slight flash of light when the receptionist touched the item.
"Wonderful. Thank you Ms. Elena Vexus. Your compensation has been transferred, and a recommendation shall be put through... While you are here, we offer the opportunity to target another item on the list."
Elena Glanced over The List again. Her eyes caught the name of yet another sword. The placed her finger on the name.
"I'll be back with this one next."
"The Blood Sword, excellent choice. We already have your information on file, we look forward to your return..."
Vexus turned and exited the room and arranged appropriate travel in order to hunt down her new target. Hopefully this one would prove to be more interesting than the last.
