An Invitation from the Witch [PV Madman] Empty An Invitation from the Witch [PV Madman]

Post by Isak Zielinski-White January 18th 2013, 7:40 pm

-Be at the Gaucho Cafe at a two o'clock tomorrow. I'll be waiting for you at the table in the corner.

He ended the conversation by pressing the ''End Conversation'' button. Isak put the phone back on the desk. It would not ring again because the number didn't appeared on the other person's phone. The joy of being anonymous. The time he had given was actually arbitrary because he wanted to sound cool by giving a location, a time and a table and speaking with his Polish accent. He sat on the bed and started to watch television. He sighted. It was in Spanish, which wasn't surprising since he was in Argentina. Why was Isak there in the first place? It was because he had survived the initiation his Master had prepared for him and she had decided to send him to Buenos Aires to recruit a new member for Shade. Isak didn't knew much about the person except it was a guy. Aside from that he did not know anything else. Zapping from a channel to another, the boy wondered why he was the one chosen for the recruiting. He was not the strongest, nor the smartest, and his Master knew that the young man wasn't exactly the crazy type like some other members. But still, he was happy to be considered a member of Shade, as long as it didn't involved hurting people too much. Isak wasn't a bad guy, but he agreed that sometimes you had to be rough with others in order to make your point. However, this had to be like a last resort solution. One hour later, he went to bed. Better be ready for the meeting tomorrow.

Buenos Aires. Gaucho Cafe. Avenida San Juan. Table in the corner. There was only one. Isak had taken his precautions after all. It was his first mission and he didn't want to screw it up. Anyway, he was there, a hoodie covering his head, eating a few churros while waiting for the potential recruit to come. It was almost two so that person would probably arrive anytime soon.

An Invitation from the Witch [PV Madman] Empty Re: An Invitation from the Witch [PV Madman]

Post by Madman4life January 18th 2013, 7:55 pm

Thirty seconds before the clock struck two, a man stepped into the Gaucho Cafe. He blinked a few times, bright blue eyes taking a moment to get used to the change in lighting. He was dressed simply, business-casual, with tan khakis and white dress-shirt, top three buttons undone. He was tanned, but lightly, and was obviously caucasian. The man wrinkled his nose in distaste, the smell of grease filling his nostrils. He looked around quietly, searching for the one who called him here, some kid with a weird accent. Once he spotted his target, he approached the table slowly, in no real hurry. After reaching the table, he pulled out a chair, propping his feet up lazily, eyes focusing on the boy,"So, first order of business," He began," Who the hell are you, and whadaya want with me?" He was obviously American, with a noticeable New York accent, which may or may not be surprising, depending on how much or how little this weird foreign kid knew about him.

An Invitation from the Witch [PV Madman] Empty Re: An Invitation from the Witch [PV Madman]

Post by Isak Zielinski-White January 18th 2013, 8:38 pm

He had expected some kind of freak show, or someone that would catch your attention wherever you would be, not some gigolo on a holiday. But Isak thought that the Crimson Witch had her reasons for sending him here to get this guy. But Isak had to keep the gimmick rolling in order to keep his credibility. He slowly finished a churro and lifted his head a bit. One thing he knew was that this man wasn't from here. The accent and the speech pattern showed that he was probably American. Isak guessed that but he didn't knew anyone in Canada who would have such a rough accent. Except Newfoundlanders. But this guy wasn't a Newfie, they were poor fellows. In any case, Isak smiled and used his Polish accent to respond to this man.

-Right on time. Are you always so punctual?

He took another churros and took a good bite of it. They were delicious. Isak enjoyed that kind of cuisine. It was good, it filled the stomach and that was pretty much it. Isak put the food back in the plate and looked at the man again. He needed to act like a professional here, not some wannabe.

-So what is your name? Why did you accepted the invitation? You aren't here out of nowhere, are you?

He thought he could work a bit more on his interviewing skills but that'll do for now. He put on elbow on the table, making sure his hood didn't revealed too much of his face to the stranger. He wanted to act like a pro after all.

He took a moment to sum the boy up, a brow perked. The boy seemed to anxious, or maybe it was just his personality. It was too soon to tell yet. After the sudden bombarbment of questions, he allowed himself a quiet chuckle. The kid obviously wasn't accustomed to interviews, and certainly didn't know who he was talking too. Before speaking, he took the time to mull over his words, choosing them carefully, "I believe," He began, "That the more important question is why you called me here." His words were smooth, intelligent. "Wait, that was you, wasn't it? Or, are you simply someone's messenger boy?" He taunted, a quiet smirk on his face..

Damn. Isak forgot the guy didn't knew about Shade. First mistake he made. He had to act like it was all planned. But how could someone like Isak continue to act when he was referred to as the ''messenger boy''. Not to mention that this guy didn't seemed to be some dimwit. Isak felt it was going to be difficult with this dude. In any case, he chuckled a bit before replying to him with a confident tone.

-Well well well, it seems you are not as dumb as I was told you were. But you are right on one thing : there are people above me in the hierarchy. But I did called you yesterday. My Master, the leader of our organization, wants you to join us.

He finished the churro he started not so long ago and took a deep breath, a silent one, to prepare his next words. After all, Isak had to look like he knew what he was doing. Getting comfortable on the chair, he finally took his turn to talk.

-You don't look like you can serve our interests. What is your specialty, boring people to death? You look like you're a government official dressed like that.

He shook his head. He hoped that taunt of his was good enough to get the other guy to react. And for the insult, or whatever statement that would be, Isak actually thought that the government was boring as hell. But still, he wondered how the other guy would reply to that.

Absorbed the boy's words, a cleverly concealed rage building inside of him. Government? Government?! While his insides boiled over, Jakk was smart enough to keep it all locked away, the very image of calmness. He shifted, feet moving to the ground, moving to sit up straight, "Ah, now we're getting somewhere. Good, good." Perhaps the boy wasn't some punk after all, but he certainly wouldn't be saying that aloud, "I suppose you can call me Jack, Jack Whitmore, since you obviously don't know who I am." He leaned over on the table, before adding, "Speaking of, why would the leader of your 'organization' send you, a boy who..obviously has no idea who I am? Insulting to me really." His tone was taunting, meant to make the boy feel small, ignorant. However, he was quite interested in this 'Organization'. "Who do you work for anyway?" He questioned, " Whats this..organization?"

An Invitation from the Witch [PV Madman] Empty Re: An Invitation from the Witch [PV Madman]

Post by Isak Zielinski-White January 18th 2013, 10:18 pm

Isak congratulated himself. He regained some credibiilty in the current situation. He learned this man's name, which was Jack Whitmore. He then started to ask Isak questions, which he obviously would not answer in their integrality, since disclosing critical informations would be bad for Isak. He cleared his throat after the other man was done and continued to talk with an accent, which added coolness to his rather normal interview.

-Well, I needed to make sure you were really Jack. Who knows if the government might be spying on us. And the leader of my organization will never go to meet people herself.

He paused, so he could finish the last churro on the plate. How sad, he really liked to pastries but that was the last one they had. He then continued once he was done.

-I work for an organization called Shade. I won't tell you much more about it, except that it contains powerful individuals. We'd like you to join us. We would need someone with your..... talents.

He smiled a bit more, trying to provoke Jack with what he was about to say.

-If we can call what you can do ''talent''. But looking at how you act, unless you're some highly skilled assassin with good PR, you just look like a government employee or a nicely dressed hobo to me.

He hoped he had taunted him enough so that guy could show what he was made of. Isak needed to have proof for himself that this guy was no scam.

Pursed his lips, nodding slowly. He threaded his fingers together, taking time to think the other's statements over. This boy was either part of something big, or a lying brat in over his head. With nothing better to do, Jakk decided to indulge the boy further. "So, I assume you want some proof of what I do? That is..a perfectly reasonable request." He said simply, "But, how do I know you are really a part of any organization at all?" He had turned the conversation around, now asking the same of the boy, "How can I be sure that your not some lying brat?" He then sat quiet, eyes intently focused on the boy's hidden face, waiting.

And of course that man asked Isak for a proof that he was not lying. Isak smiled, because he knew precisely what to do to prove him he was telling the truth. But he wanted to say something that would fit that proof, something that was highly appropriate for the upcoming situation. But there was one thing Isak would have difficulty to prove and it was the organization question of Jack. He could not simply call in New Orleans, at an abandoned theme park, and ask for Elena Marie. For that, the gentleman would have to follow him there. Transportation was not an issue for Isak since he had two pairs of plane tickets to go back to the United States. That being thought of, Isak lifted his head so the other one could see it despite having the hood on it. Smiling to him, the boy spoke to the man.

-Can a lying brat do this?

Isak used his Blink spell to disappear in front of the man. Only an empty chair could be seen. Luckily for the young man, the cafe was not busy at all so his magic trick was only witnessed by Whitmore. While being invisible, Isak slowly got up from the chair and slowly walked behind Jack. He put his hand on his shoulder as he reappeared in the blink of an eye and leaned to his ear and whispered a few words.

-Satisfied with my proof Mr. Whitmore?

He went back to his seat and crossed his arms. That matter being settled now, Isak wondered how he could bring the next subject into the conversation. Lifting his hoodie up, he looked at the man and spoke once more.

-If you wish to verify the truth behind my words, you'll have to follow me to the United States after you proved me you are worthy of it.

Watched, disbelieving as the boy vanished, glancing around himself quietly. This was odd, where did the boy go..? He almost jumped when he felt the boy's breath in his ear. Restraint, of course, was key. He nodded slowly, "Impressive," he mused, "Impressive indeed." So, this boy wasn't a fraud. Of course, now he needed to prove that he was who he said he was as well. 'Its only fair, isn't it?' he thought, smirking to himself, before speaking, " Well, I guess its my turn now, isn't it?" He did enjoy showing off, so this was apt to be fun.

Post by Isak Zielinski-White January 19th 2013, 1:40 pm

Isak sat comfortably on his chair. He wondered what this man's powers, or skills, could be. Was he a spellcaster, someone with enhanced physical abilities or was he more the mentalistic type? Who knows, Isak wasn't told about his abilities in the first place so he didn't knew what would happen next. But doing tricks in a cafe might draw attention so Isak thought about a different location. He did told Jack about it before the man cold do anything.

-Is this location suitable for you? I wouldn't want attention to be drawn upon us.

Better to take precautions and the young man realized he still had his accent. He was used to it after all so he didn't mind furthermore. He looked at the one in front of him, waiting for an answer or an action that would prove his capabilities and his potential partnership with Shade. Isak was starting to enjoy that little mission. He wasn't doing anything illegal and he was actually being helpful, in his opinion that is. In any case, a response was still needed from Jack Whitmore since Isak had another place he knew of that they could go to in case the current one was not appropriate.

A wicked smiled curved onto his lips, "No, no, this is..fine." He looked around, nodding, "This place is..suitable indeed.." He didn't say much more, but he stood, still smirking, "Of course, I need to go prepare.." He said mysteriously. "I assure you, I will return." With that, he turned, heading out of the cafe without another word. About an hour later, he still had not returned, though the cafe's business began to pick up, a crowd of people fluxing in and out of the door. Eventually, the shop was ready to close, and he had yet to return. Just when it seemed he had completely left, he stepped back in, a grin on his face. He motioned to the kid, before slipping back out the door..

As he left, Isak shrugged and asked for a bocadillo, a sandwich and he went to fetch a newspaper nearby. Since he didn't knew how much time to the other guy would be gone it was better to settle down and enjoy the food of the country while reading local and national news. Of course, he didn't understood much of what was written since it was in Spanish and his Spanish level was rather basic. Been a while since he took classes back at school. But still, French and Spanish looked alike for many many words so Isak could understood a few things.

Time passed, people went in and out, and the other guy was not coming back and Isak started to feel as if that Jack guy simply ran off and was not coming back. As Isak paid the waiter and let him knew he would stay a bit longer since he was waiting for someone, in a mix of Spanish and English. As the employee walked away, Isak muttered to himself :

-If that guy is not coming back in twenty minutes no... fifteen, I'm heading out.

It seems almost like he was listening to him because he saw Jack inviting him to go outside. Isak got up, put his hoodie back on and followed him. As he joined back with the man, he could not hide his impatience.

-You could at least told me you would take that much time. I was starting to think you simply fled.

He looked around, people were busy, as always. He didn't knew what was about to happen next.

Chuckled, strolling down the sidewalk with a quick glance at the kid, "Hope you didn't leave your wallet." He says, pulling what looked like a car alarm button from his pocket. Before the kid would be able to ask, he pressed the button, but there was no alarm. Instead of a 'beep', there was a sudden 'boom' as the cafe behind them was suddenly blown apart from the inside, the force of the inferno shattering the windows, glass flying through the air as panic ensued. The entire building was soon consumed in withering flames, and a paniked crowd rushed to toward the building, roaring and screaming in Spanish. He grinned, moving in the opposite direction as the crowd, the beeper vanishing into his pocket. He turned his head to look at the boy as if to say,'Good enough?'

The explosion caught Isak off-guard. He didn't expected such a thing as a proof of skills. So that Jack Whitmore was an explosives expert of some sort. Blowing up stuff, Isak thought about it and didn't recalled anyone in Shade who did have such abilities. In any case, Isak walked away from the explosion scene along with the bomberman and the boy led him to his hotel. They went to his room and as Isak locked the door, he pointed the chair to the man. He was silent ever since they witnessed the explosion. But that silence was about to be broken by the boy, who took off his hoodie and looked at Jack.

-I think your skills could be very helpful to my Master. But you know, that cafe made damn good churros. And all those people.... I guess I can't judge you for your work. My Master didn't asked me to.

He had taken his normal voice, without the Polish accent. He took his bed as a chair and looked at the man again. He didn't looked like a freak, he looked like him, normal. But then again, what is normalty these days, Isak thought. He took a deep breath and took out a notepad and a pen from his pockets and without looking at Jack, started talking to him.

-What else can you do aside from carbombing?
