Re: The road to godhood [Henry and possibly a hero]
"Dein Wille geschehe" Jeramiah said as he pulled out his Feuer Zunge and fired 3 shots at the man. One was aimed for his leg while the other two went straight for his center of mass. "Milady! greifen die Beine, damit ich einen klaren Schuss bekommen können" Jeramiah yelled, his training from so long ago kicking in, though he spoke excellent english, his first language had been german and in such a stressful situation his brain clicked back to what had worked in the past.
((Thy will be done.))
((Milady, grab his legs so I can get a clear shot))

Re: The road to godhood [Henry and possibly a hero]
"Hey, what a coincidence. That's exactly what I'm doing. Savin' the world like a real goddamn hero, one superpowered nutjob at a time, that's what I do all the time. And babe, right now, you're on top of my list. And you better be flattered, ya hear?" Jack replied with a confident smirk. Oh, he knew how powerful the woman before him was, or at least how powerful she was a few months ago. Considering the time gap and the fact that she was being accompanied by a regular stoic dark cowboy from hell, this was probably going to a little tougher than last time. And Jack saw it was goood.
"Cut the bullshit, you say?" Jack dropped his box of beats onto the floor, and it miraculously began spitting out wicked tasty jams.
Jack flourished his blade skillfully, and pointed it at Anu while assuming a battle stance loosely based on that of fencing, but with some decidedly eastern influence.
"Well alright. If ya must insist." Playful banter before a battle was something Jack was getting better and better at. Whether his personality was really as nonchalant and magnetic as he thought was up to others, but he was sure as hell satisfied with his skills in verbal foreplay.
Anu of course made the first move, throwing several of her magic seeds on the ground, from which sprouted several blade-fingered plantmen. Nice. Battle had just started and she'd already offered him a few kills. Why, she was bein' darn gracious today; maybe she had actually enjoyed their magical first moment together, when Jack lovingly pounded the crap out of her stupid face.
Before he could reply in kind by slaughtering her vicious plant-manbabies however, Anu's servant began spouting some bull in german and fired three shots at Jack. His talking before acting was his first mistake; it notified Jack of his intention to act, and drew the swordsman's attention to him.
This gave jack the well-needed time to deflect the three expertly placed gunshots with his blade. Jack's motions were impossibly swift, barely visible to the human eye at all. What was even more impressive was how even after swiping the bullets out of the air, he had managed to revert to the exact stance he was in before, seemingly not having broken a sweat. The truth was that if Jeremiah had not so clearly telegraphed his actions, Jack would not have had the chance to read his movements and focus enough to follow the trajectories of the bullets in mid-flight. After firing the shots, the Freeshooter began barking more german gibberish, which Jack would take advantage of to the fullest.
Breaking his stance, Jack rushed towards the botanic abominations, slashing at them while moving through their ranks as though dancing. Clearly none of these drones had the skill to match Jack in any way. But they sure came in handy. While cutting them to ribbons, Jack also used them as cover from Jeremiah's gunfire. And due to how remarkably little effort it took to dispose of these things, Jack would still be able to observe the movements of both Anu and her handservant, though he primarily focused on the former. Whether that would prove to be his downfall or his salvation was yet to be seen.

Re: The road to godhood [Henry and possibly a hero]
Anu sat back and enjoyed the fight that unfolded in her presence, wondering how she could deal with the warrior. Sure she could test this new ally but was he going to be any match for this madman? Sure she didn’t have the room to talk but Anu considered herself far from mad. His skills were excellent but it took more than that to simply take someone like her down. Her minion were taken down rather quickly, as was expected of Jack Maroon. ”Good. I would expect nothing less.” She muttered somewhat pleased with the challenge this fight would offer her.
She balanced a few seeds within her palm, thinking over how to use them. Would she kill him with a swarm of plants too numerous to dodge or simple bind him; stabbing him with a few vines through the chest. So many choices for the goddess to choose but so little time really. It seemed like Jeremiah might have him, if one of the bullets connected anyway. If not, they would be stuck in an all out fight to the death.
A single seed fell from her palm as it pierced the concrete quickly and sprouted with an inhuman speed. Forming about three thorn covered vines that shot out at Jack with a great speed, both with enough power to pierce some of the strongest superhumans skin.

Re: The road to godhood [Henry and possibly a hero]
Jeramiah saw the man deflect the bullets with ease and made a note that curvature would be required for this battle. He holstered his Feuer Zunge and pulled out two of his inscribed pistols as Jack ran into Anu's plants, obviously attempting to use them for cover.
Jeramiah did his best to follow Jack with his eyes though it was hard, that man was a speedy bastard, Jeramiah would give him that. finally he caught sight and fired one shot from each pistol, making sure to curve them to avoid his lady's plants. Though he was aiming for Jack's head, he was more likely to get a far less lethal blow with how fast he was.

Re: The road to godhood [Henry and possibly a hero]
Jack's decision to run into the small crowd of plant-based warrior-slaves would prove to be a wise one in the end. The creatures hacked and slashed, but their movements could just as well have been in ultra slo-mo when pitted against the amazingness that was Jack Maroon.
To the eye untrained in the martial arts it would seem however as if Jack had found himself in a pickle, and was barely able to dodge these botanic monstrosities. Their attacks were without relent, and Jack seemed to be frantically looking around him, dodging attacks coming from several directions. Moreover, he had only gotten in a few good slashes at first, but now barely struck at all.
Indeed, to the eye untrained, the end result of this skirmish would become obvious to them when both the plant-goddess and the dark marksman launched their attacks at the already occupied swordsman. The woman let loose a seedpod that quickly sprouted into three prongs of unnaturally sharp vines that shot out at the Jack-man, sure to pierce whatever came into their way.
The gunman fired two bullets at the warrior, but unlike his earlier 'warning shots', these bullets flew in an unnatural curve, both aimed for the head.
No, any observer would come to the conclusion that this scenario did not bode well for the speedster swordsman, heavily outnumbered, at a disadvantage of range and seemingly outmatched.
Naturally, this conclusion was as false as could be, and once again the untrained eye would prove to be pretty much the worst judge of martial prowess there could be, especially when concerning Jack Maroon.
The vines, he avoided with a perfect side-step that was uncannily similar to those ridiculous maneuvers one saw only in unrealistic over-the top japanese animation films.
Then came the bullets. The first lodged itself into something resembling its intended target, but was made of a different type of biological matter altogether. A strategically placed plantman had its head slammed right into the bullet's trajectory, prematurely ending the bullet's journey.
Its brother did not fare any better, and was swiped out of the air by Jack's trusty blade Testament. By now, it would be apparent to even the most simpleminded spectator, if there were actually even one watching the show, that scenarios such as these were but a trivial concern to Jack Maroon.
He had used the plantmen as cover, and while dodging their attacks, had kept a close eye on his true adversaries' movements. He had taken care to let the plantmen position themselves in such a way that Jack did not lose his footing, and could easily maneuver his way through the small forest of plant-puppets that surrounded him.
When his opponents' rounds were over, Jack released his faked face of exertion and smiled his cocky grin again.
Without warning, he accelerated his movements and began to cut his way through the plantmen as if they were but rag dolls made of wet tissue paper. At first he seemed almost to simply walk his way through, even though his movement was far too fast to be likened to walking. But once a path had been cleared, which was rather soon, his speed again rose exponentially as he dashed towards the gunner.
His attention was focused almost solely on this opponent now; through his mirrored sunglasses Jack sharply observed every single movement the gunman would and could move. He hadn't really planned exactly what he would do to him when he reached him, but chances were that it wouldn't be very pretty for the guy.
(OOC: Apologies for the delay. Tried to give Jack a little moment of awesome here. Going to try give him a few more of these to soften the blow of defeat eventually.)

Re: The road to godhood [Henry and possibly a hero]
Anu expected no less from a warrior of his caliber but he would need more than flashy swordplay to defeat her. Like last time his sword would break if he tried but unlike last time she was stronger, or at least tougher to knock down. She would not so easily be defeated like last time as this man would soon find out. ”Guess I need to get serious.” Anu muttered grabbing a handful of seeds from a pouch at her side, letting them roll around on her palm. Jeremiah would need her help soon, this man was simply too much for him.
”Ich werde dich zu Staub zu mahlen.” Anu growled lapsing into a German dialect, as her fingers clenched around the seeds. Which began to crackle as a rapid growing process took place and formed a large amount of vines around her, each coated with deadly thorns that could cut even her skin.
Though except going for a straightforward attack, she allowed them to move out at a slow pace, aiming to encircle them. This time she would try to be subtle.

Jeramiah knew he wasn't going to be able to dodge, the man was too fast, and he was coming at him wielding a blade that was sharp enough to take his head off. Jeramiah smiled in a moment of grim humor and whipped out his Feuer Zunge, the light of the sun glinting off of its nickel finish. The man was already upon him leaving Jeramiah no time to think.
"Shit!" he exclaimed, pulling the trigger in a moment of panic, the man only mere inches from him. He remembered the wound Swordsmaster had given him and he wasn't too keen on getting hit by another sword strike. He doubted he'd hit him even at this range, but he hoped the man would try to dodge reflexively.

Re: The road to godhood [Henry and possibly a hero]
From the corner of his eye, Jack noticed the deadly plants slowly encircling him and his prey, but decided not to pay it much attention. The only thing that mattered at the moment was his prey, the target. This dark gunman, who had the ability to control and curve his bullets. He was quite skilled, but his attacks were too slow, Jack could follow them . It wasn't easy, that much was sure, but Jack had faced another gunslinger before whose rapid fire he had learned to deal with. With that bit of experience he was able to take on this man's attacks.
As Jack moved in for the kill, Jeremiah unleashed one desperate shot, one Jack avoided with great ease. Even if he hadn't moved, it would maybe only have grazed him. The second shot was intended to have great strength; magical power. A power that, if unleashed upon Jack, could deal some significant damage.
But it was not to be. Just as Jeremiah was to fire, Jack's sword hit the gun, causing an explosion of magical fire.
One that Jack was able to jump away from in time, but the gunman himself was unfortunately caught in the middle of.
Now this was something Jack had not prepared for. His enemy taken out by accident? No, no, no. That wouldn't fucking do. That wasn't the way to win. He had to take his opponent's head through skill, through superior strength of will, body and uhh...yeah, that. No tricolon for you, Jackie-boy.
This foe had potential, and he wouldn't see it wasted. Sure, it was kind of an insult to the plantlady, but he'd make it up to her anyway. After all, he was going to be saving her minion. And if she didn't care about that, well, tough.
Not wasting a second, Jack leapt at the collapsed burning figure, dropped his sword and carried the man on his shoulder. "Yo babe, playtime kinda got outta hand I guess. Daddy'll give you your spanking some other time, but now he's gotta take junior to the booboo-doctor. Peace."
With that, Jack started running at his top speed, and jumped right over the encroaching vines, headed to the nearest hospital.

Re: The road to godhood [Henry and possibly a hero]
Anu was quite annoyed by this heroes ability to so easily side step any attempt to harm him, as well as how easily he seemed to take this whole thing. Not as if she could hope to go against him in a fair fight, he was simply too powerful to do that with;though she was powerful herself. Jeremiah at first glance seemed to be holding him off but it was all a misconception as a loud explosion set off as his gun seemed to explode. She could already smell the burning flesh, something that seemed to make her close to retching. It seemed her new found minion was already injured and they had only been working together for a day. Never looked good upon a goddess really. Though before she could tend to her minion, the foolish hero took off with him as if he had the right to.
”Where the hell do you think you're going!?!?!” She barked at the hero but he was already gone. She knew where he would be going though and that was all that mattered to her really. More exactly he would be at the hospital and she knew where that was. There would be no time to waste really, so Anu was off.
It took her a few minutes to reach the hospital but she was sure that the man had already dropped Jeremiah off at the immaculate white building. Not wasting a second she stepped through the front door, eyes darting around as she looked for where the emergency room would be,though her appearance drew only a little attention. It seemed this was the right place and that was all she really needed. Reaching into her pouch, she pulled out a single seed and let the vines begin to grow at a rapid rate as they quickly overran the lobby, leaving her in the chaos as she searched for Jeremiah.
After a few minutes of doing so,she found the operating room he was in. Kicking through the door, she sent out a few vines to restrain the doctors. ”That was easier than expected.” She muttered pleased as she pulled a pod of ambrosia and attempted to force feed the item to the wounded man.

Re: The road to godhood [Henry and possibly a hero]
Jeramiah had tried to fire a Fenrir shell at point blank, even knowing that the creature's fire could burn him as well, but it was not meant to be as the swordsman, Jack Maroon was too fast. The shell had collided with his blade before even leaving the barrel, the howl of the wolf inside barely a whisper as its soul exploded violently outwards in a flurry of hellish black flame. The pain was immense, but far from the worst part. Everything seemed to go in slow motion as Jeramiah watched Feuer Zunge melt and twist in his hand, he saw them. He saw the faces of the 10 of members of The Freischutz all staring at him. A cold hatred filled their eyes, the accusing glare emanating from every set burned directly into him and hurt more then all the fire that had consumed him. His world went black, all he saw were the bodies. Each and every one, surrounding him, and the monstrous demon that had taken his comrade's souls loomed over all of them. From the bodies, the first to stand were the 10, they all stared at him. Their faces slowly contorted and began to rot away along with the flesh on their bodies. Then more stood up, and more, and more. This continued for what felt like hours until only two bodies remained.
"No" Jeramiah wheezed, his voice hoarse, whether from the fire had been caught in or from his own grief, he wasn't sure.
As the beings stood up he saw them. His wife and daughter. His wife Veronica walked over to and embraced him, his daughter, Erica, reached him only moments after. He sat there in their embrace and began to cry.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, If I could take it back I would! Please, please forgive me!" he yelled, his voice a hoarse cracking mess. "Please..." he gasped as his wife's warm embrace turned into a pair of icy cold hands around his neck. He looked up at her and she was smiling. A psychotic grin stretched across her face as it mutated into something out of hell itself. "You sacrificed us for your own gain, now we're here for our revenge!" she screeched out, her voice like a banshee. Jeramiah looked down at his daughter, her innocent child like grin gone, replaced by an expression of pure rage and seething hatred. He went limp, he deserved this. He deserved to die and go to hell for what he'd done. "I'm sorry" he said, his voice little more then a hoarse whisper, growing softer as he felt the life drain out of him. As everything went black he heard screams. he opened his eyes and the thing that was his wife was screaming, her hands no longer around his neck. He looked over and the Erica-thing was screaming too. They screamed and yelled as they began to melt. The Erica-thing ran over and grabbed his shirt. "Daddy, don't let me die again! I don't want to die again!" The thing screamed as is turned into a pool of red and black...
Jeramiah coughed and opened his eyes again, expecting to see fire all around him, it was the hell he deserved... but instead. All he saw was red hair, glistening in the artificial light of the room he was in. His eyes hurt and his breaths were like sucking in sulfur, but there was a taste in his mouth... curry? that's what it tasted like, but it felt smoother. "M-M'lady?" he wheezed, his throat burned and his vocal cords barely working. "M'lady... where are we...?" he gasped out, he was barely conscious, barely alive, and all his strength went into asking that question.

Re: The road to godhood [Henry and possibly a hero]
”Back amongst the living are we?” Anu said pleased, a small grin curling upon her lips. ”At least it proves the ambrosia is a success. Wasn't expecting any results really but this is good news.” The item itself was experimental but now it was proven to be effective. That was all that mattered really in the scope of things. The people suspended against the walls were so loud, or atleast to her. So she simply ordered the plants to make them shut up,something they did easily by means of a large amount of powerful thorns. Messy but efficient.
”Though we will have enough time for pleasantries later. I'm sure the chaos i've brewed will draw the Law Enforcement soon enough.” She said as she ordered a few vines to help the man to his feet as well as support him if her needed it. There would be no time for infirmity to hold them back from an escape at this time. Though of course she never had the best luck did she? It seemed that the police were already upon the building and making their tactical plans to deal with them;as if they had the measures to deal with a goddess of her caliber. Mortal weapons would be worthless to her, especially their guns.
Front doors were overrated anyway. So she planned to go out another way, which involved a little property damage but nothing she was concerned with. The vines holding the once living surgeons bodies let loose their gruesome cargo before tearing a hole in the nearby wall and forming a crude staircase to the ground level.
'Way too easy.” She muttered counting the seeds she had left. Still more than enough.

Re: The road to godhood [Henry and possibly a hero]
Jeramiah's vision was hazy and disjointed. Whenever he blinked he was in a different place. One blink, in the hospital, another and he back in the blackness watching his daughter melt before his very eyes. He looked around at the bodies of the men, the doctors. When he closed his eyes again the doctors were there too, they were in the background rotting away. His whole body hurt, the only reason he was moving was because of the vines Anu had used to support him, and even then it was more of a shuffling, limping gait. His eyes burned as he walked out into the sunlight through the hole Anu made.
When he blinked he could still see the light through his singed eyelids. Jeramiah looked down and saw he was bleeding profusely. It wasn't easy considering how badly burned he was, you could barely tell the difference between his flesh and his blood. Jeramiah looked back up. He heard sirens, like those he heard at the mansion when he escaped. Jeramiah felt like collapsing, his vision was getting worse, all he could do was keep walking.

Re: The road to godhood [Henry and possibly a hero]
'These people sure are persistent.” She muttered annoyed by the circumstances, all because of that damn hero, but no time to bemoan her bad luck. The police were already in pursuit of them and would soon enough be on them. Of course they were far ahead of her in terms of movement considering they had a mode of transportation. Jeremiah was still heavily wounded and his bleeding seemed to have worsened. Not a good thing considering he still had to live. Anu did need her general alive and in one piece. A vehicle would have to be taken. Though before she could advance any further it seemed as if a police blockade had materialized in front of her with guns aimed. A solidarity helicopter hovered in the air above her, thought hey seemed focused upon only her. Maybe his injured state at least gave him the appearance of a helpless victim.
“Give up Elisia,we have you surrounded.” One of them said through aid of a megaphone. Anu snarled lightly before stepping forward.
”Don't you dare call me that you bastard!!” She roared as she flicked a single seed forward, lodging itself within the mans head and beginning to sprout;tearing his body apart in a blossom of blood and gore. Leaving the other officers in shock for a second before they let of a volley of shots at her that all bounced off of her skin, only feeling like so many caressing fingers brushing against her skin, they were nothing to the goddess. Pulling out two more seeds she allowed two long thorny plants to grow as they formed around her and Jeremiah before shooting the thorns in all directions.
People screamed as they ran and the officers were impaled by the deadly projectiles. Blood painting the concrete, as well as vehicles were punctured. Though of course one managed to remain unharmed. With the resistance taken care of Anu pulled the red car closer with a vine, inspecting it for a second before smiling to herself. After a few seconds she managed to hot wire the car and sat in the drivers seat.
”Lets go. We need to get you treated.” She said motioning towards the passenger seat with the ghost of a smirk. It was all to easy.

Re: The road to godhood [Henry and possibly a hero]
Jeramiah hacked and coughed as he got into the passenger seat of the car, he was dying, and he knew it. He'd lived 400 years and he was on the verge of dying. Not how I imagined going out, hacking and coughing up my own guts in a steel trap... he thought. He looked over at Anu, a numbness setting in. Perhaps it was that liquid she poured down his throat but the pain was starting to fade, he tried to speak, couldn't. Jeramiah's head hurt badly, it was hard to think. Especially since whenever he closed his eyes, he saw his wife and daughter melting before his eyes. He coughed again before forcing out a few words. "So... your name's Elisia... pretty" he said before falling into unconsciousness.
