On the run - Page 2 Empty Re: On the run

Nightkill snorted. "If you are a murderer, then there's more reason for me to help you. Murderers aid each other, eh? But" he said, becoming deadly serious. "I do not approve of hurting children." he said.

"Also, your powers interest me. You're young, you can grow. You can get more powerful." he explained, as they reached his lab.

It looked like a cross between a mad scientist's lab and a hospital room. Nightkill placed the girl on the table. "Tell me," he asked, "What's your name?" he said, as he was looking at how serious the wound was.

On the run - Page 2 Empty Re: On the run

Mist was startled at his statements. He's a... a murderer? A real one? A murderer with a conscience at that... She wrinkled her face into a smile. He couldn't be that bad if he saved her. Maybe he's just a murderer by everyone elses standards, kind of like how the media viewed her.

She scrunched her mouth, thinking about what he said about the powers. She hadn't really thought about what she could 'do' with them. She has only used them to get out of trouble. Maybe she could help people like Nightkill too.

"My name?" It couldn't hurt to tell him now, after all he's done for her. "I'm Amy Morgan. I used to live on 719 Narrow Street. The orphanage there, before it got burned down."

Nightkill noted this information for later. It would have to be looked into. Perhaps she did it, or someone else. Regardless, someone did. He wouldn't question her now, she was hurt, and he had to hope the wound wasn't already infected. Also, the snow probably didn't do anything good for her.

He looked into the wound. "The bullet is stuck inside the wound. I may have to put you to sleep for now, but when you wake up, your leg will be as good as new." he said, getting some aesthetic.

"Uhmmm..." Mist had been trapped in her imaginary world while in the orphanage. She didn't know much about anything, but it didn't make her incapable of learning. She was quite quick on figuring things out. The medical terms were a bit above her knowledge, she didn't read about being put to sleep or watch any television about it. The orphanage was quite limited.

"So, this won't hurt, right?" She forced another bashful smile.

"Not at all." Kill promised, injecting it into Amy. The girl was out cold in seconds.

Nightkill got to the surgery, and extracted the bullet through medical methods which I have no idea of. His technology was years ahead of the human norm, so it didn't take too long.

The girl would wake up to find her leg perfectly fine, and Nightkill reading Ender's Game on a nearby chair.

On the run - Page 2 Empty Re: On the run

Post by Guest November 22nd 2010, 12:01 am

Mist wandered in and out of sleep as the anesthetics wore off eventually. She tried to raise herself up, but was having a little trouble with the blurred vision. Is he reading a book? She fluttered her eyes rapidly trying to get a glimpse of Nightkill. She slowly regained her normal vision. Looking at her leg, it seemed bandaged up pretty well. Now the question is, where do I go from here? If she tries to escape, she might get attacked or captured again. She kind of liked the safety of Nightkill's general knowledge.

"So, uhmm.. You never exactly told me who you are." Other than he said he was a murderer, which was still weighing heavily on her mind.

He looked up. "My name is Seth Khan. My other name is Nightkill, a name began by my enemies, and one which I have accepted and continued." he said.

He put his book down. "Where will you go now?" he asked. "If you have nowhere to go, you may stay here for now, if you wish. I won't force anything upon you. Young as you are, you have the right to decide what you wish."

"Nice to meet ya, Mr. Khan" She said with a smile. Uh, well I haven't really had anywhere to go since the Orphanage burned down. And while the police are looking for me, I'd rather lay low than try to be in the public too much."

That part was really true. Plus, she didn't mind Nightkill. He's been nothing but nice to her. At 12 years old, she was really looking for any type of a supportive person to help her along.

Nightkill nodded. "In which case, I'll take care of you. You can stay here, nobody comes here unless I want it. The security system is amazing." he said.

"Of course, I'll have to homeschool you. No arguing, young lady, everyone needs to learn." he said, patting her head.

"Hmm" She thought to herself. She wondered what kind of 'homeschooling' she'd learn here from a guy who calls himself a murderer, Nightkill. Not that it could be any worse than the orphanage. They had to teach the majority of their subjects verbally. Rarely did they use textbooks or worksheets. She thought he was a bit odd when he patted her on the head.

"So, you haven't seen my powers yet, have you?"

(I typically pat little kids on the head to show affection, so yeah, lol.)

Nightkill nodded. "No I have not. I thought you needed time to recover and get used to the situation." he said. "The man did say you could transform into mist, correct?" he asked.

He was thinking quickly. If he could turn this girl into an ally, she could be very useful. And if she explained all her powers now, he could figure out what to do quicker. And, he needed to find if she really did kill someone. However-

"Look at you, you're so thin! I'll get you some food." he said, exiting the room briefly. "If you want, you can show your powers later."

On the run - Page 2 Empty Re: On the run

Post by Guest November 22nd 2010, 8:48 pm

"Well, I guess..." She started, but Nightkill was quick to change the subject with the temptation of food. I suppose he was right that she should wait until she was physically ready before showing him. Though he seemed to know enough about her powers, there wasn't much to it.

She didn't think anything special about her powers. The only practical purpose she ever found was to run away from all her problems. And even then, she could be captured, if it was by the right people. A jail cell or cuffs couldn't keep her tied down. She'd need an isolated room with constant surveilance. And even then there was the options of escape through an air duct system, if she could outrun the security.

If she were to somehow be useful with her powers, wouldn't she need a weapon to fight with? Up until now she's been efficient at taking other peoples weapons and using it against them. But after killing that man, she didn't want to touch another gun ever again. Most people don't want to kill another person, she thought to herself. They'd have to be one of those people, that if you set free, they'd just go back to their same evil ways. Her incident was an accident after all, she just wanted to get away from those men who tried to kill her.

Nightkill walked out of the room with his offer of food to her. "Yes please, Mr. Khan, I'd like that very much." She said with a smile.

On the run - Page 2 Empty Re: On the run

Nightkill whipped up some eggs, toast, and orange juice. He had lots more, but the girl had slept for a while, and it was morning now. He glanced out the window. Still snowing a bit.

He walked back in the room with the food. "If you need any more at all, just ask." he said. "I wasn't very sure how hungry you were, and I'm not too brillant of a cook. That's my butler's job, but he has a short leave." he explained.

"Would you like to sit at this surgery table, in a bed, or at the dinner table?" he asked.

"Don't have to be a brilliant cook, I'm not a picky eater. This is fantastic, thank you!" she reached her hand out to take the plate. He has a butler? Wow, guess this place isn't "top secret" at all, unless he's some sort of robot. Either that, or this guy isn't afraid of anyone turning against him and calling the police, if he really is a murderer like he says he is.

"Here on the surgical table is perfect." She was pretty adaptable to any surrounding. They didn't always eat at the table at the orphanage, either. There wasn't exactly a reason to be at a table, it'd just delay her from a meal even longer. She wolfed it down pretty quickly. She only had a few bites to eat at Oni's, and the meal before that was when her home got burned down. Was that 2 days ago? It didn't matter, she enjoyed this meal as if it was her last.

"Do you require more?" Nightkill asked. He truly wasn't afraid of his staff turning against him, they were too afraid of that.

Nightkill sat down in his chair. "So, Amy, do you remember your parents at all?" he asked. Perhaps these superpowers came from family.

She shook her head, the food was sufficient and she was very grateful.

"Hmm, my parents? No, not really. I was abandoned at the orphanage when I was really little, they say it happens all the time. They probably couldn't afford to keep me or something." It wasn't too hard to believe from the neighborhood she was from. Maybe her parents even thought she'd have a better life if her food and shelter were already paid for.

"So what do you do? You got a nice place, food, a butler. Sounds expensive." Maybe she was just making small talk, maybe she was genuinely interested. They still didn't discuss how either of them became known as murderers.
