Violence and pie (Red)

"You want me to go after someone?" He asked, curious more than anything else as his mismatched eyes focused upon the suited woman. As always she would debrief him about his mission, giving him either someone to defeat or someone to protect from something dangerous. The male rested his chin on his palm, making sure to catch every single word that came from her mouth. This was perhaps just a perk of having superior hearing, not that he needed it to catch something that he was meant to hear in the first place.

"Our aim is a rather particular target, one a few of our agents have managed to get some Intel on. Nothing major but enough to get you into this operation." Well, they had intel so this was supposed to be a target that they wanted no mistakes to happen with. "You know about that country, Belarus?"

"The one that psycho murderer Lucius took over right? Without killing anyone if I remember correctly." if anything, Damian had been doing his homework on some things, including what the more dangerous metahumans were doing. The room they were in had monitors that projected important data across them, mostly stuff about the target such as images about Lucius Alba. They looked more like a model than a villain, but then again people have said the same about him, minus the villain portion.

"Many people are beginning to call him more than just a murderer, some even speak positively about him. I suppose he's preferable to their former government." Damian nodded to all of this, waiting for any manner of real instruction. "Now here's your plan of action."

Give this little part a skip in time and then things get down to business. Where he found himself was an unknown deal, what looked to be weapons from within the little boxes that they were carrying with them. Rather dangerous weapons if he knew anything about weapons anyway. Flying through the skies, Atlas was dressed in his usual heroic costume of a black suit, one that looked more armored than anything else, but it served just to look cool rather than protect, with a mask over his eyes. Not that he needed it but then again Atlas found that they also looked pretty damn cool. Mentally he was just waiting for something, a moment by which he could strike that would come very soon.

Well..within the span of five minutes, the time came and he was in motion with a loud boom. The ceiling of the building gave way much like a milky cookie would, as Atlas landed against the ground. "Nice weapons you got there boys." He noted, one of them raising said weapon to fire what looked to be..plasma. All it took was a motion for him to speedily avoid the blast, slamming a fist into one of them with just enough force to knock a human out. It was almost like swatting a fly, but they went down quickly.

The others raised their weapons, but were downed just as quickly. Well there was one but they had a purpose. "Okay you....um...tell your boss he's next. Yeah, do that." Well they were scared enough to listen and so they ran.

It had been quite awhile since Lucius was in New York, he just had way too much business across the Atlantic. He finally managed to take a trip to Empire City, but this was by no means a vacation. He was of course here on business. Vexus had left much to attend to with her rather brash way of keeping things together. She was too open, a card carrying villain. No one heard the name 'Elena Vexus' and considered she could be a good person, no matter the cause she had. Either way, he was here to plug some holes and figure things out.

"Sloppy thugs, look at this place!" Daniel said as he looked at their old New York headquarters. It was trashed compared to when Lucius and him were running it. Some low tier meta had been put in charge, and Lucius was regretting it.

"....I want Claire stationed here from now on, i can't trust these amateurs to do anything properly." Lucius said, looking over the disorganized base and picking things up.

"Probably a good idea. The trade routes are compromised as well, some of them going right by Police stations and 'heroic' bases. What was this guy thinking?" Daniel asked himself, looking over paperwork on the mans desk. Lucius was about to respond, but a man rushed in. It was his attackers lucky day really, Red was here one day only.

"R-red! Atlas, attacked the drop point on 25th, it's fucked." The man said, out of breath. Did he run here? Lucius supposed it didn't matter. He thought of that name, he had heard it before but couldn't quite put his finger on it.

"Hector, do a search through my database and common information networks for a metahuman known as Atlas, and tell me what you know." Lucius said. The AI did just that, searching TV broadcasts in the last year, the internet, Lucius' own vast database, and even some top secret governmental data that wasn't too heavily guarded.

Atlas, super-high tier metahuman, known powers include superhuman speed, flight, strength, and durability due to the fact a normal body couldn't take the strain his speed puts on it. Has been active for a few months to a year. Lucius would see images of various television networks capturing his fights, as well as videos taken by bystanders and uploaded to the net. He was indeed powerful, not one to be taken lightly. If he was attacking Lucius' trade routes, then he wouldn't stop until he got the villains attention. It was a trap sure, but he had walked into plenty and got out before this. Things were about to get ugly.

"Well, you'll be pleased to know the issue will be taken care of, so you can get back to work ASAP. You'll be getting a bonus for your services. Now, leave us." Lucius said, prepping his gear.

"You're really going after them? I heard what Hector said over my earpiece, let some of use come with you." The teleporter said, knowing Lucius would want to go alone.

"And what message does that send? That I'm scared. Besides, an honorable man goes alone when meeting a new adversary." Lucius said, sheathing Cora Zen and being on his way.

"Just don't be stupid, if you get in trouble, I'm showing up regardless of what you say." Daniel said. Lucius just continued his walk toward the door.

Lucius had taken a car down to the building, not wanting to overexert his teleporter before the battle even happened. It would only take about ten minutes, and eventually he walked inside the mostly ruined building. It was large, but the ceiling had been blown out of it. When he walked in, he would likely see his opponent.

"Be a gentleman and let's talk before you come barreling at me, alright?" Lucius said, walking into the warehouse a bit further. He was prepared for anything, ready to react at a moments notice, but he was prepared to just talk it over as well.

Beating up the bad guys had always been easy for him. Maybe it was just because they weren't strong enough, or he was too strong, one of the two reasons had to be it. So Atlas would sit down, arms crossed as he waited for the boss to come like they always did when their goons were being beaten. Those that did not get away, well they were tied up with a few of the ropes that he could find before waiting. Eventually Lucius would appear, in all black as they usually did. Honestly, Atlas had expected that they would lead with a violent approach, but that was not the case at all. Words were their opener, and that left him confused more than anything else.

"Like a gentleman? That's pretty interesting coming from you." He noted, feet once again planted to the ground, hands falling down to his sides. "Well I'm not really here to talk. I'm more of the punching things until they break type." Atlas raised a single fist, fingers clenched so tightly that the knuckles were pale."I feel like we should skip the small talk, and get straight to the part where I beat you up" Raising the fist, he slammed it into the ground with all of the strength that he could muster, shattering concrete and sending powerful ripples outwards. The ground would tear upwards in large chunks as the very warehouse would find itself collapsing inwards. Luckily, he made sure to leave any unconscious people outside of it.

What a meathead. This might be easier then Lucius thought, considering the males illustrated intellectual capacity. Sure he was powerful, but what was the old phrase? Brains over brawn. A little strength induced shock wave was not going to scare Lucius, in fact, he wasn't even going to utilize his more common defense systems. The door behind him was still open, and the raising of the fist and talking gave Lucius plenty of time to put his plan into motion. A rope of red energy formed around his waist, and from there shot backwards into the ground outside, violently pulling him out of the building.

A normal human probably would have been hurt by that, but not Lucius. Once outside he took some steps back and the rope faded. He watched the building collapse, and was quite impressed at the displayed power. As of now, his opponent hadn't shown himself. Still, he remained diligent, with is hand on the button so to speak, waiting for a blitz.

The building began to collapse around him, producing great blooming clouds of dust as his own vision allowed him to keep a watch on Lucius. Within a matter of seconds, Atlas rushed forward easily reaching impressive speed without much effort. The clouds of dust would part briefly as he rushed through, any enhanced perfection seeing both how fast he moved and how easily he reached a speed of mach 2. All within the span of a second he was rushing Lucius, aiming a punch towards the man. Not that he was using his full force, but it would likely be enough to do some considerable damage. His speed then increased further to the average cruising speed, mach 3 as it would be.

They weren't kidding, this guy was fast. Lucius had dealt with speedsters before, but no one quite like this. Atlas was also strong, which meant if Lucius got tagged it would to a lot more damage then if he were hit by your average speedster. Too bad for the hero Lucius didn't intend on getting hit. His sensors quickly picked his target up, so Lucius knew where he was coming from nano-seconds before he appeared out of the smoke. It was dark but with his masks vision filters that didn't matter. With the fact he saw it coming on his scanners, the probabilities running through Lucius' head narrowed done to much fewer, all considering the attack from that direction. Combine that with his slowed perception, and it's needless to saw Lucius say Atlas coming a mile away.

Lucius' defense was, um, unconventional to say the least, but it would likely get the job done. He dropped two handheld bombs in front of him, and then put up a bubble like barrier around himself. From there, the bombs would explode, likely sending Atlas flying back from the unexpected detonation at least a little. Even if it didn't though, Lucius himself was blown back a good fifty feet, protected with his barrier for the most part, and what it didn't take his durability would eat for lunch. He would end up landing a good distance away from Atlas before getting up, under cover of the shock of the explosion regardless of if his opponent was effected.

Lucius was intelligent, likely had a few strategies to deal with the speedy types and Atlas had considered that. However, the only thing that kept him from really doing anything cautious was the fact he was more than confident within his own capabilities. Unless the guy had something more than a few explosives, then he didn't feel as if he was in any real danger. Even as the bombs were thrown, everything around him slowed down exponentially as he saw them being thrown his way. He could have done something like pluck them out of the air and broken them, but then again that was not what he would do. Instead, he continued to propel himself forward with the help of his own ttk, making any force that should throw him back even less effective. The force was felt, but it was nothing more than something that made him growl under his breath as he tore through the force with his own.

Still, that allowed Lucius to throw themselves back a good distance. This had proven enough to allow him to escape his attack, or so they would think. Quickly, his eyes scoped out what looked to be his knees, and unleashed white hot pin point beams of energy rather quickly to them. The damage done should they make contact would be burns, painful burns that he knew even with regeneration would take a few minutes to fully heal from, likely slowing Lucius down somewhat.

Speed wasn't exactly Lucius' strong suit to begin with, at least when it came to walking. He could grab a sniper round out of thin air from just hearing the shot, but ask him to run twenty feet in eight seconds and he wouldn't be able to on his best day while naked. The point is, getting hit in the leg was nothing, because his mobility was reliant more on teleportation and his gadgets, as well as his Red Energy. He pulled himself around, knocked himself around, and teleported. He barely ever actually ran.

He got hit with the beams, and it hurt enough to make him grit his teeth. Even so, the contact was brief as he put up his repulsive field, which caused the beam to shatter and shoot out in multiple directions. He only used this as long as the beams were fired at him, and then turned the field off to conserve power. He figured he would need it later. While it was up though, he formed a cast of sorts out of Red Energy tightly around his leg. With his manipulation of the substance, he wouldn't be inhibited much if at all by the wound as his regen began to get to work. It was a burn, so it would take longer, but that was really no problem with it being treated as it was.

Finally, Lucius would attack, using a layered pulse to if anything get Atlas away from him. The first layer, which was the Red Energy in it's pure form, would likely burn and corrode even Atlas' skin to a degree. It really didn't matter how dense something was. Sure it was harder for the energy to break down, but no material was entirely immune. Lucius was confident the Rhino of a hero would try to push through this layer, or at least stay in place, and that's what the next was for. It was a solidified pulse to knock Atlas off balance, and the last one was like the first, just slightly weaker in terms of harshness and stronger in kinetic power as it came shooting out at blinding speed. All three layers were part of one pulse really, and they all served to push the hero back or damage him.

The damage from what he could tell was something, though with how little they appeared to be hampered he knew he would need to do better than that. Not that Atlas would give up just because something looked bad, no, he would just have to try a little harder than a few seconds ago. They had said that Lucius would be dangerous, a really powerful opponent but that didn't meant that he was really worried about himself. It took a lot to make him actually fearful, and someone not going down after one attack only managed to make him excited. Finally however he would be dealing with an attack, something sent out towards in what looked to be a pulse. "Looks like a challenge to me." He said, rushing forward to meet the challenge.

He slammed a fist into the visible layer of red energy, the initial sting hurting like a bitch but that didn't keep it from being shattered into oblivion. Still, that didn't exactly stop the secondary pulses of forces from sending him flying back, hitting the nearest large thing rather hard. Not that he was hurt by the impact, but the collateral damage wasn't exactly something that could be avoided. "Ow." Atlas said under his breath, pulling himself from the wreckage of what looked to be a building and assessing his knuckles which were burned, or rather that was what the damage looked like. He wasn't used to being burned, so this was a new sensation altogether. Well, that meant he would have to try a different strategy in dealing with the red energy slinging metahuman.

"I'm...really missing that support right now." unfortunately this wasn't a test of his team work with his sibling, just his own abilities. Speed blitzing likely would not work, so there went his bread and butter. So he went with...something else speedy, which ended up being trying to do something that would catch them off guard. Ramming his fingers into the ground, he jerked up causing a large section of the street to come up with him. Normally this wouldn't happen, but then again his ttk was something that made it possible. Throwing the large section towards Lucius, well it would likely hit them unless they destroyed it or teleported out of the way. With that done, well he would react accordingly. Should he choose to destroy the chunk of concrete and earth, well Atlas would make use of the created debris to rush Lucius, well should they teleport he would rush anyway.

To make a long story short, bumrushing was on the menu.

Destroying a small block of concrete clearly meant to be a distraction was idiotic. No, that's not what he would do in a million years. For one the smaller pieces could still hit him, and for two like was the clear plan here someone would charge through it for cover just as it was destroyed. The guy was a rusher, and him suddenly turning to ranged attacks after not being hurt a single bit made no sense. The intent was clear.

Lucius simply raised his hand and the concrete found itself being grabbed by a thin layer of Red Energy, barely visible to the naked eye. From there, he stopped it dead in it's tracks, and flung it directly at Atlas who Lucius still saw on his radar. This would likely put a hamper on the whole charging thing, but even if it didn't Lucius now had a clear line of sight and could react accordingly if Atlas chose to continue his onslaught.

Now it was Lucius' turn to go on the offensive. Atlas was close, so right where Lucius needed him. The dictator wanted to talk, play his little mind games, but he also didn't want to waste time and concentration on it. Luckily he had the perfect remedy. He withdrew his sonic emiiter, and ordered Hector to use custom audio he recorded from his wicked fast mind in real time. Atlas was about to hear a very painful monologue.

Such a sense of right and wrong, yet when you see the world so black and white you end up becoming darker then anyone in the grey would ever be. What justice do you uphold, your own? The country's? The world's? Religion's? I think it's the first, because you're clearly taking the law into your own hands, being a vigilante. You're self righteous, arrogant. You think yourself a god? With all that power, i don't think anyone could not be a little cocky. You want to be the hero, but all you end up doing his ramming that fist of yours into the wrong people, causing collateral damage and not changing anything in the process. There will always be villains if you keep doing what your doing. If no one fixes the world for the long haul, there will always be crime. But maybe you want it that way, maybe you want to be the hero without having to use that empty shed of a brain. Punching things is all you know how to do. Too bad you'll just shrug this off with a stubborn and 'heroic' comment, but by the end of it I'll have you right where i need you.

The entire message was released in 15 seconds in a wailing sonic emission that would likely harm the metahuman, and Lucius didn't even really know about his enhanced sensory. He sort of gathered considering the hero could see perfectly in the dark, but still, that wasn't why Red did it. The moment Atlas was effected by the sonic emitter, Lucius would send his sword flying, manipulating it with Red Energy and then teleporting behind Atlas. The sword came from the front, and Lucius from behind, attempting to wrap Atlas' arms and legs in constructs to momentary hold him in place while the sword flew at his gut. It would also follow the metahuman if he managed to somehow fight both the restraints and the emitter, but that was unlikely. What was more likely was the vibrating blade would cut straight into the hero, sawing through the dense skin at blinding speed. Durability didn't matter much with the speed it was going at and the vibration.

Well...rather than things happening as he had expected, somehow Lucius had performed what would look like telekinesis to the naked eye, however it looked a lot more like that red energy stuff to him.Times like this, he really enjoyed that he had super seeing, even if it wasn't always as useful as one would think. Still, Atlas wasn't really worried about that so long as he could keep moving thing would keep from going terribly. That was when the loud annoying sound hit his ears, seemingly tearing at his eardrums enough to cause immense pain within them. Atlas pressed his palm to his ears as if that would stop the pain, but it did nothing except show how futile the whole attempt was.

It was then that the next attack happened, which came down to them teleporting while launching what looked to be a vibrating sword towards his gut, something that should have been easy enough for him to avoid. Mix in the sensory overload and the attacks, well he wouldn't exactly be able to avoid anything. So the bonds managed to clamp around his limbs, while the blade flew forward. Atlas attempted to break them, but not quickly enough to avoid anything as the blade rammed into his gut. An iron taste immediately made itself present within his mouth as he coughed up dark red blood in a thick glob. Luckily, this had been enough time for the sonic sound to end as he gave a great wrench, breaking the bonds and aiming to remove the blade before anything else could be done.

Reaching for the hilt of the weapon, he steeled himself before ripping it from his gut. That only caused more blood to spill, and an annoying someone to chime up in his earpiece. "Atlas, what was that?" They sounded slightly worried if his ears could be believed. Darting forward, he made some distance between him and Lucius before turning around. He couldn't heal, but his body would still be able to function even in this state.

"Nothing, just the kettle calling the pot black." He responded pressing a single finger to the earpiece. If he knew correctly, this place would have been cleared of people, and hopefully his superiors had something in mind as far as cleaning things up was concerned.  "Nice hit, but you're going to need to do a little more than that if you want to kill me Lucius. I'm not some helpless human you can kill so easily." He spat, teeth stained with blood. "I'll have to get a little serious now." Atlas muttered to himself. Part of him wanted to make use of that one little trick he had, but that might cause damage he did not want to cause.

This guy was a tough one. He nearly broke free even under all that pressure, and didn't seem to be all that annoyed with the wound in his torso. Even still, he was rocked. If he wasn't he wouldn't have sped off to get distance. Either way, the playing field was now shifted more in Lucius' favor. He grabbed his sword with his energy, brandishing it with his left hand, and listened to the male. No comment on what Lucius had said? So he was pleading the fifth to not prove Lucius right. Quite hilarious honestly.

With only a small amount of energy used so far, and his wound starting to become even less of a hindrance, Lucius felt confident. He just had to be clever. Even when wounded Lucius wasn't sure he could take the male straight up. If he kept charging like a dumbass maybe, but regardless he had to keep up with the tactics. This was an all for nothing bout, his opponent powerful enough to make this exciting.

"I don't want to kill anyone....... In fact I'm just the diplomatically immune world leader who was suddenly attacked by a vicious metahuman out of some sick sense of justice." Lucius said with a technology filtered chuckle. He sidestepped, his footwork precise and minimalistic. With his radar and impeccable reaction time, he was ready to swing that sword at a fly moving at mach five to cut it's wings off. He was analyzing the possibilities. The guy would likely charge, it was just his nature. That was the highest possibility and as stated he was ready to use his sword or energy to prevent it from being successful. The next possible thing was the heat vision he displayed earlier. That was slightly more difficult to counter but Lucius was sure he could do it. Then, last but not least was objects being thrown at him and the slim possibility he might get creative and do some sort of shockwave. Either way, Lucius was ready.

Of course, he wasn't just going to stand there and let the guy attack, even if he was a defensive fighter. He sent out a simple blast at his target with his free hand, while letting tendrils seep into the ground through his feet. They would be used for surprise defense later, but as of now they burrowed in like roots.

Atlas, what is going on? Our readings are telling us you're losing a large amount of blood." Well, they weren't wrong exactly but luckily his body was something that could go without a little blood. Likely they also knew what he had in mind to deal with Lucius guy, but then again it was something that he didn't want to jump to when things were going a little difficult. A brilliant light covered his hands, as he forced it against the wound, the feeling of flesh being forced to close as he cauterized the wound. Well this was done on both ends, mostly to keep the precious blood from getting out, granted he didn't really take anything too bad when it came to internal injuries.

"I'll be fine." He whispered only loud enough to be received  by his earpiece before returning to trying to deal with Lucius. They were proving themselves to be rather dangerous especially with that weapon of theirs which seemed to be able to cut through his flesh. "Oh, you aren't now? Guess that means you get the not as bad as you could be award. Congratulations you big hero you." He said with a low growl and a roll of his eyes, licking his lips which tasted of irony blood. It looked like he couldn't rush this head on, meaning things had to be taken a little more cautiously if he didn't want to have his head removed from the neck.

Still, he didn't have enough time to think on things as a blast was sent in his direction, as he was forced to avoid it. Even while moving his mind attempted to come up with some way to deal with this guy, something that would likely not happen easily. He could destroy the street under their feet, force them to fall our attempt to take flight, which would bring them into his own domain where he was likely to have an easier chance. He knew he could do damage should he actually manage to make a hit, however that didn't mean anything if he couldn't hit them.

It looked like he would need to go as fast as he could, and so he would do just that. Looking around with a quick scan, the x-ray caught what looked to be something moving through the ground. Likely it was something that they were hoping to make into a trap later, which meant he would have to think about that as well. So there was more thinking that he would have to do, which wasn't exactly his strong suit in the end. Granted, that was more because he wasn't any manner of super genius, so that might have had something to do with it. Picking up what looked to be a small rock while still in motion, he weighed it up and threw it as hard as he could at Lucius.

This was followed by....well a charge. Not as if he was going to be able to catch the guy off guard, so charging was something he would do. The aim this time was to try to disarm him, using his speed to attempt to grip onto his wrist and either break it to where it could not hold his weapon or just rip it off with his monstrous strength.

You're throwing rocks again? And let me guess, a charge after that? You decided instead of doing something creative to just combine two remarkably predictable attacks, one of which is very, very easy to counter. On second thought this fight might not be worthy of my talents....... These thoughts rolled through Lucius' head, as well as many others as he readied himself for this attack. The rock of course was simply speared out of the air as the tendrils in the ground leaped forth, forming into a chain to redirect the thrown object. After that, it sucked back into the ground.

At this point, all Lucius had to deal with was the charging Atlas, who did manage to buy himself some time by using his throw, but it wasn't much to the fast thinking dictator. He saw Atlas was going for his arm. that much could be determined by trajectory. Of course he would go for that, he was hurt by it so saw his sword as a threat. At that, Lucius used his energy/telekinesis technique and launched his sword deep into the ground, we're talking forty feet. At this point Atlas was on top of Lucius though, so, he had to do something drastic. He coated his arm, and entire body, in a thick layer of energy and then met the brutes fist, attempting to catch it in his palm. It was simple enough given that's what Atlas was attacking, he would move right into it.

I can't match your power, but with my manipulation of the energy around me i can hold you here for a moment, and that's all i need......... God you're strong, you can't be a natural metahuman........... Probably engineered, some scientist trying to make a super potent breed, that's the only explanation. Anyway, here comes the chains in the ground, and Cora Zen right beneath you, in moments they'll have a grip on you, then it's game over. Lucius thought after likely catching the fist. Once he did, he would let the energy around his hand slowly try to burrow into the man's fist, causing pain if he tried to pull away. Given the brutes nature, this would likely turn into a two handed power battle, and that was something Lucius couldn't win. Luckily he wasn't trying to.

In only a couple seconds the energy chains below would pop out, rolling toward Atlas from behind and the sides, and even the front as some came at his face from over Lucius. They would try wrapping his arms, his legs, and his neck up, and then Cora Zen would come from beneath and spear at him from the groin up. All while Lucius, who was severely pushed back with his energy coating breaking, tried using the opportunity to break free and step back with a minor pulse to push himself away.

Within a matter of a second, the sword spearded itself into the ground, making it something that he could not exactly remove from the males grasp and actually, he just managed to put himself into a dangerous situation. His fist ended up being caught within a large red energy hand, something that somehow managed to hold him in place for even a moment. It didn't take a genius to see that they were augmenting their own strength with that energy, so that meant he needed to get out of the bind he was caught within. He gave a quick attempt to pulling away, but that only ended with his hand hurting really badly, so he would have to try something else. Considering the sun wasn't offering him any healing mojo, he would have to avoid doing anything that overly damaged him.

However, something happened that required that he do something about. This meant he would have to move out of the way as the chains of energy sprung up, Atlas forcibly ripping his hand back which tore a little at his hand as he managed to get back. Not that he could entirely escape the chains, but that did get him out of the way of what looked to be a blade springing upwards, likely in away that would have done some fatal damage. A few of the chains wrapped around his right arm, as well as his legs, something that proved annoying for someone trying to get out of the way. Making use of his excessive strength, he tried to break the chains and managed to do so well enough as they would clatter to the ground.

"I'm going to do it."  

"So what Atlas."

"That one move you keep telling me not to use." He said, making sure only the people on the other side of his communicator can hear him.

"You were told to incapacitate him, not kill him." He could hear that they were apprehensive about the idea being proposed, but then again things were as they were. If he just used the power in the open, then the collateral damage would be something they couldn't just explain away or deal with. So he had an idea in how to stop that, so long as they sent someone to catch him upon falling.

"I think he's sturdy enough to survive it." Atlas said, preparing something to do next. Taking off at supersonic speeds, he began to quickly move around Lucius rather quickly.
