The Dragon and the Sea

The Islands in the East China Sea, or so the Chinese name territories shared with every other Asian country in the region, are hotly contested territories that are a powderkeg of political conflict waiting to happen. Everyone claims everyone else is illegally claiming Islands that belong to them. The Navies of multiple nations patrol the waters closest to their own shores, but no one dares fire the first shot.

Then the incident happened.

A large cargo ship from Switzerland en route to Hong Kong was lost in the contested territories. All parties deny involvement while pointing fingers. All reported strange lights and explosions though, and the cargo ship vanished without a trace. Most perplexing was the news a great winged monster- a dragon- was involved somehow. Any further investigations in the area result in rescue ships vanishing as well. The area is promptly declared a prohibited zone until a more substantial and cooperative response would be mustered...

...Which meant treasure seekers were now taking small, local boats or other transportation to take them there. A thirty minute trip from the nearest village under a bright hot sun and wide blue water would find them on the beach of one of the Uncharted Islands nearest the ship's last location, a rudimentary camp of armed mercenaries, adventurers and metahumans mustering to search the area. Intrepid merchants also set up shop to sell them extra weapons and supplies.

Beerus gets off one of the small boats that were going to a small island, closer to where this "dragon" has been sighted. There was a group of bounty hunters, meta-humans, and mercenaries congregating in a small market. The young spiky black haired boy walked over to a small clearing a little ways away and sat down on the grass. Beerus began meditating in order to add his subconscious senses to his normal senses and enhance them to their max. When the boy reached a very deep meditative state, he focused his senses out into the sea.

Joseph was there, in an unknown island, surrounded by many kinds of people. Some of them looked like completely freaks, while others looked just like normal humans. He was recruited, as well as other metahumans, to be there and hunt down some kind of dragon, at least, that was he heard. He didn´t really wanted to be there, but when some special forces go to your home and try to force you to do something, there is not much that can be done without revealing your secret identity.

One of the metahumans, that were really big and ugly, was abusing the weaker ones. -Haha! and what kind of metahuman are you! you look like a someone that anyone could beat up easily!- said the bully metahuman to a metahuman with weak air bending powers. The abusive individual was checking all the metahumans there, and making fun of their powers, one by one. 

The bully metahuman looked at Joseph. -Haha, you look just like a puny human, are you even a metahuman?-said the abusive big guy. -Well, I have super strenght...- Joseph was interrupted by the bully -Super strenght! you? haha! dont make me laugh! I would show you real muscles!- said the bully while attacking Joseph. The young man were soon covered by the big and muscly body of the metahuman, who was trying to squash him with his massive body. A bright pink light started to come from under the body of the bully. Then, the aggressive individual went flying a couple of meters. Everyone looked at Joseph, who was no longer him, now he looked like a attractive young woman with a pink and girly superheroine cosume. -I told you, I have super strenght!- said the Queen with a smile in his face.

After that incident, one of the metahumans decided to put order. -Stop fighting! we have a mission here, focus on that!- said the superhuman.

Magical senses stretched out from Beerus towards the sea.

Yup. The Sea was pretty wide. Kilometers of open sea with sparkling, clear blue water.

Closer to the island some of the mercenaries were taking the opportunity to enjoy their location with personal water crafts, or more commonly known as Jet Skis and WaveRunners. These were the muscle, as their commanders were doing the real work. Gunboats were anchored in the water nearby, some female metahumans in swim wear enjoying themselves, much to the resentful stares of uniformed, sweaty mercenaries. There was one odd tall, lone figure standing by herself a bit far out in the shallow waters, looking up at the sky. two hundred meters from the shore, it seemed the water was still only about five feet deep- but the girl must've been seven feet tall to still be up to her chest in the water.

The bully's allies all laughed at the incident, but silence quickly "You shouldn't pick fights in a camp full of metahuman mercenaries, Capitan Carnage. You never know who you'll run into. Why don't you do something useful and unload some ammo for our gun emplacements?" A woman with an eyepatch and wearing battle attire stood over the bully metahuman, whose presence seemed to cow the bully into compliance. One arm and one leg were clearly robotic.

"Yes... ma'am." The Capitan said, fearing the robot pirate lady much more.

Robot Pirate Lady approached Queen. "I apologize for the Capitan, he's an ass. I'm the leader for the Howlers, those meatheads over yonder. Major Kimberly Anne Armstrong." She thumb pointed over her shoulder towards the camp with the loud, metadrug hopped up goons. The rest of the camp was alive with preparations, the smell of muscle, guns and superpowers.

Meanwhile at the center of the camp was a portable scanner array operated by a group of red garbed ninja commandos under a large tent. Their leader was an older Japanese man wearing samurai armor and a blindfold, a sword at his side and a rifle slung on his shoulder.

Overall, nothing was happening... yet.

Nick was sipping his coffee on a plane. He held with his other hand a copy of 1984 by George Orwell. One of the best books he had ever read. He was going to China for a job he had to do. He had to create a new software that could identify species just by scanning a skin patern. In his backpack he only had a change of clothes, his Shocker vest and goggles, his laptop, his phone and a Snickers which had been there for weeks. Upon arrival, they finished quite soon. In 5 hours. They even developed a mobile port, but it contained just reptile species. It was a huge success for him and Nova Industries, where he worked. He was left with unlimited time on China. The company told him that he could get some vacations. In his hotel room, he was looking for good TV shows. He landed upon the news. He did not understood the language very well, but he understood the word "unknown, reptile, giant, sea". If he could get a skin sample of the animal and add it to the software, it would rise the money income. Being the first app with identification of a new species. He packed his things, and before he left, he touched the TV absorbing its electricity. He rented a vehicle known as WaveRunner. It was a deep green. He put his vest and goggles, and grabbed the Snickers. He grabbed a hoodie from his change of clothes and his mobile phone. He had also baught from the farmacy an injection and a scalpel.

Almost 45 minutes later, he was in a crowded island. His WaveRunner was parked upon the shore. He moved the goggles from his forehead to his eyes. He said in sort of a medium voice "Hullo everybody! Where is the reptile?"

The Queen looked closely at the superhumans in the island. He didn´t notice it before, but a lot of them looked like samurais and pirates. A really intimidating looking pirate-cyborg woman approached the supergirl, and apologized for the bully, who were apparently under her command. -Im the leader for the Howlers, those meatheads over yonder. Major Kimberly Anne Armstrong- said the woman. -They call me the Queen! Nice to meet you!- Said the Queen energetically. -By the way, your name is really long, can I call you Kim?- asked the Queen.

Before the pirate-cyborg girl could answer the question, the Queen didn´t want to wait anymore, he needed answers. -What is going on in this place, Kim? I live a relatively peaceful life in Texas, Im rarely involved in metahuman stuff, so I have no idea what is this all about, can you tell what are we doing here?- said the Queen.

A stranger arrived, and asked to everyone in there, something about a reptile. The Queen was even more confused.

The little bit of my scenes that I kept on land felt a familiar presence. I open my eyes and turn see The Queen talking to a cyborg woman, so I get up. As I walk over to the The Queen and the larger woman, I over hear my friend ask what this was all about.

"Well, if it isn't The Queen. How have you been? Oh, and to answer your question, we are here to deal with a dragon, well most of us.," I say when get close enough.

"Call me whatever you want. It's good to have more company here." The cyborg commando pirate captain lady, Kimberly, walked with them towards the tent with the ninjas commandos. She also took a look at Beerus, but made no comment. Kim's experience with metahumans made her calm in their presence, not to mention all the assorted clowns already on the Island.

At the tent, a blind, one armed, old asian master type presided over the various personnel operating the scanner equipment. The island was being checked over by all the conventional methods- radar, GPS, satellites, electromagnetic detections, in addition to more esoteric methods.

Despite his impediment, the old master held a presence above all the ninja present, and he had a Chinese sword at his side. He welcomed Kim, the Major actually bowing to him.

"Master Lao, we have two new metahumans who join our hunt." The Major said, introducing the two heroes to the old master. "Master Lao leads the Blue Dragons. They're our go-to people for tracking and intelligence."

"Yes. their arrival was noted... and quite noisy. Rest assured the dragon is only a rumor at this point, Queen." He addressed them without looking at them because... blind. "But, Our pathfinders have found many pieces of the missing wreck... not to mention missing wildlife on this island."
