Reunion (Jeise/Annie)

Annie shook her head as she put a pot of water on the stove.

Another few moments of silence passed. "It was a scary feeling. I hardly knew about this outside world, and...I relied on you to help me through it. Then to just...suddenly be on my own..."

She opened the cupboard and pulled down a tin of traditional english tea, as well as two cups.

"I made it on my own, though, if you're worried about that. Got an apartment, even made a name for myself, as you saw. Firefly...London's newest hero. Nice to know I'm making a difference of some sort."

The pot whistled as the water came to a boil. She proceeded to pour the water into the cups, then added the teabags. She took the cups over to the couch, setting them on the small table in front of them.

"I know that...you have responsibilities. Obligations, or whatever. I just...I just want to know, okay? "

Steam rose up from the cup of tea, hous and little swirls. Jeisen could follow every little twist, writing out the math and physics behind it with out even trying. But he was lost right now. One of his fingers trailed around the edges of the cup, a slight ringing in the air.

Jeisen: "I never doubted you would make it. And what you are doing here really is quite something. They day I pulled you out of that mess, I never doubt you could make it. I think that day was a firsts for both of us. So was the day you bound my wounds."

He paused for a second, not really sure where he was going.

Jeisen: "I made a drop file. In case I died. One for the guardians and one for you. I don't think that's enough anymore though. I'll do better next time."

Not that there wouldn't be a next time, but thy he would do better. Jeisen couldn't promise he might be gone for a while again. That just came with the territory of being what they were.

Jeisen: " I'll come back though"

That was a promise he would keep

A next time. Annie didn't like the thought of that. "What if you don't, though? What if you don't come back? You barely survived that other time. That was half of all of it, Wondering if you...if you...didn't make it. Sleepless nights..." She sighed and took the first sip of her tea.

"I just...already lost the people who took care of me, okay? I don't want to lose the other person who means something to me. I don't want to be alone again..."

It had started to rain. The drops could be heard falling against the roof.

"Next time, just...leave me a note or something, okay? I would've accepted that over just...leaving..."

Annie stared at the floor. Her eyes were starting to water. She hated when they did that.

Jeisen moved to grip on of Annie's hands. For a man not known for such a simple gesture, it was him reaching out to her. Of all the things he was didn't want to do, making her cry was near the top of that list.

Jeisen: "I will, I promise. Next time, I'll link you intoo my video logs. I don't know if you will be able to give me ones back, but they are basically my thoughts so when I'm out I don't go insane."

Not much, but it was something. It was what her should have done before when he had left. It wasn't right of him to just leave his group behind like that, even if he needed to go. He was the leader after all, he needed to be propared just in case

Silence. Annie sat there in silence, letting the moment sink in, Jeisen's hands in hers. She knew that he rarely if ever did things like this, and that's how she knew he cared.

Annie took a moment to dry her tears. It was embarrassing that that happened in front Jeisen, of all people."Thanks. It...it means a lot."

She took another small sip of her tea. "I'm sorry for yelling. You know how I get sometimes."

Jeisen: "I know girly, don't worry. Not the worst hot head to yell at me"

He said half joking. Only half because Entei literally yelled at him with fire. It was like a dragon roaring. Seeing Firefly cry though hurt more then all the fire that Jeisen took that night. Again, he was at a lost for words or action. For a man so used to reacting on the fly, it was disconcerting to say the least.e was flounder on the spot but tried not to show it.

Not for the first nor the last time, Jeisen was glad to be hidden underneath a suit of armor.

Annie smiled. She knew that the anger was past. They had moved past the semantics. Now it was just two friends happy to see each other again. It was always her favorite when Jeisen, the most stoic person she knew, took time to joke around. Not many people did, but she knew that under that armor and that mask, there was a man. A man who he rarely revealed. One who had a heart of gold. That was the man who had rescued her. The one who, deep down, she loved. But she would never let those feelings surface. Well...

An evil grin appeared on her face."Actually...if you are as sorry as you say...I want to see it on your face. Your real face. Take your mask off and say you're sorry. Then we'll be squared off." She was toying with him in reality, but she wanted to she how far this could go.
