SCIENCE!!!!!!! (Alpha)

Omega seemed to consider for a few seconds the metahuman brought before him, almost expecting something to happen. ”Yes, I know of you Lucius. I was there in Springfield after all.” Perhaps the word would have been enough to make the male recognize him, even if it was just for the mask he wore. Adjusting the pair of glasses sitting upon his nose, Omega sighed softly. ”I am a little surprised Alpha brought you to our little hide away, but it seems anything is possible when you bring a ticking time bomb.” The venom there was obvious, as well as the obvious of his flint gray eyes turning almost as sharp as steel.

”Someone sounds unhappy.” Alpha noted, unable to control the small smirk forming upon his lips while his sibling simply turned his unamused expression towards him.

”Bomb's aside, how can I help you two?” he could tell Omega wanted Lucius out of here as soon as possible, if not for himself then the safety of the young ones. That much Alpha could agree with, the younger generations always came first.

”I was giving Lucius a tour of the facility. We have two more locations to....observe. Well locations that are important any way, otherwise I would be showing him every closet in the facility.” A small joke on his part, but that did not pleased Omega in the least.

”I see. Well, this is my office. Where some of the younger and older generations come to get checked up on, for genetic abnormalities and things of that nature.” So in essence this was some manner of glorified nurse station, with an overview of the nursery were someone to look out the glass that spanned the other side of the room, one sided at that.

”See, that wasn't so hard.”

”Mhmm. I hope thats everything, because I have some important work to get back to.”

It seemed Lucius' sharp memory had failed him, of course, that day was full of memory loss. He couldn't remember parts of it, as if he blacked out randomly multiple times. He had been looking into why, but now he just felt embarrassed.

"Yes...i had some blackouts that day, some kind of severe memory loss but only effecting that 24 hour period. I'm currently looking into it, my apologizes for not recognizing you. As for the core, well, Travis did an excellent job fixing it. I think its in everyone on this planets  best interest to not have nuclear bombs going off." Lucius said making sure he called Alpha by his public name. He knew this would probably get to the boy, since they all seemed adamant on calling each other by letters of the Greek alphabet. He wouldn't try to pick at him if it wasn't for the venom in his voice, what did he do to cause him to be so rude? Well, it was possible he forgot that, too. As if to keep them there longer, Lucius decided to ask some questions.

"Can't help but ask what sort of abnormalities. Didn't know a perfect race had such things. Also, does that make you the family nurse?" Lucius said with a chuckle. He was obviously playing with the kid, since he seemed to be in a mood.

Faulty memory, not something expected of the metahuman supremacist but then again apparently that day was not the best for him. Alpha could sympathize that much for the male, as he too did not have the best day in the cities take over, granted it was because of him taking it easy on the girl. ”If perfection existed, yes the perfect race would have no imperfections. However, we are not perfect, because the idea of perfection is a fallacy.  After all, perfection leaves no room for evolution and where exactly would that leave someone like you?” Perhaps Omega was striking back with his own scathing remark, if it even got under his skin to begin with. Pushing a few papers across the table, he turned to look at Lucius once more. ”And yes, that does make me the nurse. Someone has to take care of everyone, that job just happened to get shunted onto me. Now if you'll excuse me, I have more important work to get to.”

With a dismissive gesture, Omega would return to digging through a few files, and Alpha would be the first to stop out of the office. It seemed that one of their more altruistic members was in a sour mood, or maybe something about his guest just did not sit well with them. Either way, he did not want to have to incur the wrath of Omega anymore than he already had, not that he would have been too much of a threat. ”Seems like we caught him on one of his rare moods, or perhaps his time of the month.” Alpha's attempt at humor, but then again he was expecting it to fall flat. ”Anyway, we still have a tour going. So how about we get back to that?”

Lucius smirked at the boys statements, he seemed to have slightly misunderstood him. No, he didn't believe in perfection. It was impossible, nothing could exist without some form of flaw. Not just on a personal level, on a racial, and heck on a galactic level nothing was without its imperfections.

"It doesn't matter where perfection or evolution leaves me, only that its achieved. Though i would have to agree with you, i don't believe in perfection." Lucius said in response. He didn't really care for the conversation, and it seemed Omega didn't either. They were waved off and Alpha lead him outside once more. Travis then made what Lucius thought was an attempt at a joke, which was simply ignored. The male wasn't exactly known for his humor.

"I believe your correct, where to next?" Lucius said walking a bit further into the hallway. Lucius didn't know exactly what else could be seen. It was a very interesting visit yes, one with many ideas and thoughts garnered. But Lucius was growing a bit uncomfortable, he hadn't taken a tour since 9th grade.

”Where to next? A place I believe you will find most...interesting.” if Lucius truly found it interesting was yet to be seen, however they would end up stepping upon an elevator that would begin to descend deeper into the earth that their facility snaked through. This ride would go with silence, Alpha not even looking to Lucius, his face twisting ever so slightly as if something were on his mind eating away at Alpha in a sense, though that expression disappeared as soon as it appeared. Within a matter of moments, the door would open and lead into a rather expansive dark hallway lit with dim green light. ”Few people, even of those I call my siblings have been in here of all places.” With a casual motion lights would flicker on to reveal the room within its glory,

Casting the pale green light were tubes lining the wall, made of the most solid glass money could buy with what looked like organic beings growing within them. Bubbles would flitter up through the tube, dissipating at the top, though one could not see this top. Something was being pumped into the tank, though what that something was he would not tell. Twelve tanks in total, each with a new specimen within them, all slowly developing. ”This is where my experiments take place, where.....my people are born. It is only one room of course, and I have many more tanks, empty but they are there.” Alpha looked into the glass of the tank, eyes narrowing for a moment before he turned his attention towards Lucius.

”Sadly, it seems we can only be born in test tubes. However, that is something I am working on fixing.”

So again Lucius was lead down hallways and to yet another elevator that would bring them down even further into the facility, now Lucius was starting to think Alpha was just trying to make him feel jealous. Alphas huge base of operations made Lucius' look like an amateurs set up. Though that wasn't completely true, Lucius had his fair share of high tech goodies but the sheer size and sleekness of Alphas facility was what gave his puny underground lab a bad name.

After another silent elavator ride Lucius was greeted by a more....unusual room. It was dark at first, the only thing lighting it being some dim green lights. But that quickly changed as the rooms full lighting flickered on, revealing some rather...unexpected things.

".....You were right, very interesting. But i do wonder just as your...brother, if that's appropriate, did. Why would you show me all this? I know we are fellow scientists, and with that comes a certain amount of desire to show each other our handy work. But all this, i must be the only one outside your circle that knows this much. Why trust me? I'm a man that likes to focus on the far end of things, so please tell me, whats in it for you?" Lucius said looking at the various lifeforms in the test tubes. He wasn't trying to be rude, but Lucius did want to know why he was shown all this. It couldn't have been just because he showed up with a bomb. Was he too contemplating a closer alliance? Or was this just for shits and gigs?

Then came the question that Alpha should have been expecting, yet all he could do was watch the thing slowly form within it's tube. The beginnings of hands were forming, fingers barely even nubs at this point with not a single fingernail. ”What's in it for me?” Alpha considered the question, letting it roll over his tongue as a smirk formed upon his lips. ”There is much to gain, for me and for you it would seem. We would have much to gain from collaborating, i'm sure someone of your intellect could see that.” Sure, it may have seemed like a sort of joke to someone that knew nothing about Alpha, but then again that was their fault for not knowing this enigma. Everything he did, held a certain purpose to it and one that he himself would not reveal until the last moment. From what he could tell, Lucius had a lot of value to him, more so as an ally than a foe.

”While my resources would allow me to do a lot, I am still limited in the grand scheme of things. Even with your great power, you are just as I am. If we were to work together, I foresee things going much smoother for us in the long run.” Turning his attention from the male for a moment, Alpha would run a single finger along the smooth surface of one of the tubes, the texture alone something that he found interesting against his flesh. ”After all, one thing we can agree on is that humanity is outdated. Evolution has already begun to move forward, whether within metahuman kind or my own is unimportant. You seek to advance your own kind, and I plan the same, so perhaps working together we could achieve these goals of ours.” Pausing he turned to Lucius with a searching glance.

”What do you say?”

Lucius would stare blankly through his masks optics at the partially formed creatures in the tubes in front of him as he took in everything Alpha was saying. Lucius had expected this to come up eventually, though the real question was if the race they backed was important or not. Alpha addressed that yes, but who knew what the future held if that were to happen. Would it be as it is now only without humans? Two races struggling for power over one another? Regardless of the agreement made today, if they were to succeed this issue would continue past either of their times. If the world were made humanless. if true evolution was achieved then this moment decided not just the agreement of two men, but the agreement of two races.

"I knew this conversation would eventually happen. I do agree with everything you said, we would be stronger together. But If i am to say yes, then this is not a mere alliance anymore. No, this would become a treaty, a racial collaboration. Because if we are to succeed in these goals of ours then not just us must be loyal to each other. If you do indeed understand the gravity of this agreement, which i know you do, then i say yes." Lucius said pacing the row of tubes looking at each one before turning to shake Alphas hand. It might not have been Alphas style, but growing up in a rich household full of those business types instilled the value of the shake in Lucius.

Lucius had a response, but then again he expected one of those. His concerns would be stated, yet he had already thought about something like that. A symbiotic relationship between their two species would have been optimal, in fact it would have been beneficial for both in the end. True, perhaps they would have gotten a slightly better part of that deal in the end, but no one truly was screwed within this deal. Well, no one as far as he could conceive, but his lack of foresight did veil some of these things from him. ”This is the start of something great. It's good to know I have someone like minded on my side.” Alpha would accept his hand shake, firmly shaking it back with a small smirk. He was a business man himself, so he knew how this went, or rather how it had went. Typically contracts would be drawn up, yet this was perhaps too profound for a simple piece of paper to note.

However, now he found himself with an ally, something Alpha had not been expecting considering their initial meeting. Perhaps his sparing this metahuman before him had been his best idea to date, or perhaps he would come to regret it. Regardless, what's done is done, and cannot be undone, not when so much can be gained. Now, it seemed he had many things to do, preparation for the next stage of his plans, and things that it would be best not to have distractions for, as he was sure Lucius had things of his own to do as well. Turning his attention back to the various tubes that lined the walls, all he could think of was the future of his people. ”I do hope I don't sound rude now, but I have some work I must get to. Alot of preparation before I can move to the next step of my plan, as i'm sure you can understand.” With a motion of his hand, he usher Lucius back towards the elevator, that would lead them to what looked like a hidden sort of garage, far off from where they had initially entered.

”Take one of these fine vehicles and be on your way. Keep in touch however, i'm sure I will find reason to call you soon enough. Do try not to die Lucius, I can't have my only ally dying on me.” He offered with a small chuckle before waiting for the male to leave.

And so their handshake ushered in a new stage in their relationship, one that Lucius hoped would further their common goal. Regardless though, it was good to have someone like Alpha in his corner. Lucius had never shared an alliance of this level with anyone other then a few of his most trusted followers, so what exactly was to come was all a mystery. Alpha would then brake away from their hand shake, asking if Lucius would leave so he could tend to other matters. Lucius understood, in fact he too had work to do, lots of it.

Yes, i have some preparation of my own i must tend to." Lucius said as he followed Alpha to the elevator once again. The elevator took them to a garage that Lucius didn't know was there, but with all this walking he expected some kind of back exit.

"I'm a particularly difficult person to kill Travis." Lucius said with a chuckle as he walked toward a sleek black mustang. In a few moments Lucius drove out of the garage and onto the empty Canadian roads outside Alphas facility.

Alpha watched the male leave, not betraying any emotion as they would drive away in a rather sleek mustang, leaving him there alone in the garage with hands crossed behind his back. Once he left, the door way would close as it always did, leaving him with only artificial light and the knowledge that he had much work to do. Turning upon his heels, Alpha would once again venture back into the depths of his labs, through the dreary elevator ride with the same dreary white labs that he had known for all of his life. Where this lead him was the lab, not his normal one but the one deep within the facility, looking over the multiple tanks within it.

The subjects within them were developing, yet he had a feeling they would show some promise, perhaps be the first truly successful ones within many. If that were the truth, he would have to find after after they came to maturity, however long that took. Alpha, if you have the time I need to see you in my office. Omega's voice would speak into his mind, the hive mind connecting the two and yet he could feel the brush of so many others within that connection. Over a hundred minds brushing across his own and coloring it with their own concerns, likely unaware of the one mind connected to them. Alpha licked his lips, turning from the tube for a moment before looking back to it.

I'll be there in a few minutes. With that he pulled from the hive mind, feeling all of those thoughts pull away along with it. Sure, Omega would be unhappy with that but then again he was likely already unhappy, so a little more wouldn't hurt him. If he had a problem with his alliance with Lucius, then he could get over it as he had gotten over so many things Alpha did that he did not like. His mind began to run over a few thoughts as it always did, followed by a dull ache, Alpha pressing a finger to his upper lip and pulling it away to see dark red. His time it seemed was running short, but then again that was just life for him; brief.

Looking to the tube, he caught his reflection within the dull green fluid. He was not smiling.....

Yet his reflection was.
