Morgan let out a yawn as her eyes flickered open. She was met by a cool breeze drifting down the edge cornfield were she lied. What an interesting dream she had. She dreamt she was a robot. It was foolish to image that she ever was a robot, but dreams where dreams. She blinked and looked around confused. Morgan couldn't remember how she got here, or why she was here in the first place. She looked down, she was wearing a light red tank top and blue jeans, a leather jacket draped over her shoulders. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a wad of cash. Then her memories kicked back in, how could she forget. She had taken out her life savings to travel the US and to start a new life where ever her money ran out. Morgan wondered how she could ever could forget that. Her friends and family even pitched in to help her. The result was a quite substantial amount of money. Morgan got up and stretched.
"Hmm... I guess this is Texas... I remember seeing the sign a while back. I probably should get moving, see if I can find someone who will let me tag along until I get to Dallas. I could go for a hotel stay for a bit. It's better then sleeping on the ground." With that Morgan collected her things and began to travel along the road with the seemingly never-end cornfield.

Re: Waking up in a cornfield in Texas... is that normal? (Open to one, maybe two people)
Neal was driving along a road to Dallas from Austin Texas, he had a few lecturing jobs in this area for the time and was driving a black Ford Taurus for a rental car. It was a comfortable car, the university paying him for the standard model; but he went above and beyond to get the top of the line model. Always enjoying a drive in luxury over the basics, Neal felt that it was fitting for him. Wearing his black suit and white shirt, a black and red tie adorning the collar, he was glad he had the air conditioning. In this heat and what he was wearing, it was likely that even he would be a bit tired and exhausted from this weather. Not to mention the fact that a walk this long would take far too long.
The countryside was quiet for now, there were miles of farmland. It wasn't pretty in his opinion, and it was almost putting him to sleep. Such repetitious scenery was driving him insane, especially paired with the length of the drive. 'I hate it when I need to drive around states, it always takes a long time. It gives me the benefit of having some money come in, but such lengths of driving was tedious for even the most focused drivers.'
Thinking he would have a boring drive, he saw a girl walking along the edge of a farmland and the road. It looked as if she needed a ride somewhere. Since she was walking in the same direction as he was heading, and he felt that some human company would greatly improve his attention, Neal went to pull over. The dust was billowing where he went off the road, stopping a little too quickly it seemed. Still, Neal's nature was for him to do what he could to help people no matter who they were. After he stopped, he went to get out of his vehicle, grabbing the keys by habit.
"Hey, do you need a ride? I am headed to Dallas if you want to come along. There is probably another day on foot, so a ride over is probably a good thing." Neal had a smile on his face, small but welcoming. It was something he had started doing after he had met Uzma, making him realize that he seemed almost emotionless to most circumstances. His calculating nature was still there, but he did his best to show his humanity by smiling once in a while.

Re: Waking up in a cornfield in Texas... is that normal? (Open to one, maybe two people)
Morgan had been walking the country road for quite awhile now. But strangely didn't feel tired. Although Morgan just chalked it up to being used to walking at this point. She hummed a strange tune that she couldn't place. Then she heard a car coming. She turned around trying to place where the car was coming from. The car was approaching he and was heading down in her direction. For some reason she could tell what car it was, but wasn't sure happened. She backpedaled while waving to the black car. It past by her and stopped a short way up. She ran up to the car and met up with the surprisingly young man who stepped out of the car.
She waved at him. "Yeah that would be great, that was where I was heading anyway." Morgan smiled back at the boy and jumped into the passenger seat of the Ford Taurus. Morgan yet out a groan of pleasure when she sat down. "Man it's been forever since I sat down on a seat like this." She had been walking for quite awhile and when she rest it was just on rocks or the ground. "I'm surprised to see anyone on this road, I haven't encountered anyone in a few days." said Morgan. She looked the boy over again. "You seem awfully dressed up for someone who at least looks so young. Are you heading to a wedding or something?"

Re: Waking up in a cornfield in Texas... is that normal? (Open to one, maybe two people)
Neal watched as she waved and then responded that it would be great if she could hitch a ride, since that is where she was heading anyways. As Neal was about to speak, she began speaking as if it had been days since she had sat down on anything remotely comfortable. Neal decided to listen before speaking, wanting to know all she had to say. She continued on to say that there had been nobody on these roads for the past few days and that she was surprised to see anybody on them. Neal gave a small smile at this, only on the road in the first place because he needed to do some teaching in Dallas and figured a three hour drive wasn't worth getting on a plane for. Once this girl was situated and had the door closed, Neal started the car again and started off down the road once more. His driving a little faster than he should be going, but he wanted to make good time since these roads got boring fast.
When he thought that she was done speaking, she said that he was a bit overdressed for somebody his age and asked why he was. Neal gave another smile at this, continuing to keep most of his attention on the road but he was going to say why. "I guess that question was bound to come up, somebody my age this dressed will be asked that I suppose. Well, the reason is that I guest lecture at colleges all over the world. It just so happened that I was in Austin for a few days, and now I need to head over to Dallas for it." His answer was short and mostly formal, but he felt like asking her some questions too. Glancing at the GPS built into the dashboard, he noticed that there was supposedly a restaurant not too far away. "It seems there is a restaurant coming up, you hungry for anything? I know I could go for some lunch right now."
He was about to finish up speaking, when he realized that he still hadn't given his name or asked for hers. He decided that it would be reasonable to give that, as it was strange for two people to be riding together and not have a name to call the other one. Neal extended his right hand toward her, glancing over for a second. "By the way, my name is Neal. What is yours?"

Re: Waking up in a cornfield in Texas... is that normal? (Open to one, maybe two people)
Two whole weeks had Oberon Kane been scouring the Texan countryside, searching for an artifact of which he had learned through interrogations in Switzerland. The artifact was said to have come to the far west with a distant relative of the person from whom he had obtained the information, and Oberon believed that said artifact would be able to grant him further knowledge of the world' mysteries.
Sitting in a restaurant next to a street in the middle of nowhere in particular, Oberon took another sip of his tea. The day had not been eventful for him. Yet another search had lead to nowhere. He sighed and took yet another sip of his tea. "Where to go next? I don't know this area well, I know none of these people, and I have no further leads." He raised his cardboard cup, and turned to a nearby waitress. With a rather thick German accent, he asked for another cup of tea. Turning back to face the window, he saw a car down the road, with a male driver, and a woman in the passenger's seat. "I wonder if those two know where the nearest airport is." The waitress returned with his tea, and he stood to pay. He walked over to stand. leaning against the wall next to the door.

Re: Waking up in a cornfield in Texas... is that normal? (Open to one, maybe two people)
"You are giving lectures at colleges, no way!" said Morgan with surprise. "You can't be any older then I am. Well at least we are heading in the same direction." She flashed him a perfect smile and just relaxed in the car seat. Yeah it wasn't the most comfortable thing in the universe but it was better then what she sat on before. They drove for a bit longer before the boy ask if she wanted food at a diner that was coming up along the road. She nodded, she hadn't eaten in a while now that she thought of it. "Yeah I could go for food." said Morgan. She wasn't to picky on what she liked to eat so she could eat anywhere. Then finally the man introduced as Neal. The name fit him well. But when he asked her name they seemed to fit a road block.
"My name? Oh! I'm Mor-" Morgan stopped. She closed her eyes and placed her hand on her forehead. All of a sudden she had a headache. She kept trying to remember her name but nothing was coming to her. "I-I don't remember..." said Morgan. "I need some fresh air I feel sick." Morgan got out of the car, color drained from her face. Thankfully they arrived at the restaurant not to long ago. She walked into the diner and sat down at the bar and asked for a glass. The waitress behind the counter asked if she was feeling ok and Morgan shook her head, simply saying she had a headache. The waitress nodded and with in a matter of moments returned with some Advil and some water. She downed the medicine quickly and took the glass to a table. She asked for two menus for when Neal came in he could look it over.

Re: Waking up in a cornfield in Texas... is that normal? (Open to one, maybe two people)
Neal heard her surprise as she responded to his lecturing at colleges and universities, something that always gave him a little ego boost when it happened. People rarely suspected somebody as young as him to have that profession, especially considering those people were considered some of the smartest in their fields. In response to her statements after that, Neal would decide to actually say something instead of remaining quiet. "You are right, I am probably not any older than you. Also, heading in the same direction seems to be a very nice thing, good to have some company on the road. It can be hard driving in these condition by yourself, especially when the radio is almost all country music." Neal said the last bit of his speech with dramatism, stressing that part of it as the worst.
As she was saying her name, he realized that she was having trouble. He wasn't sure, but guessed that it had to do with walking too long in that weather. As if affirming his guess, she said that she needed some air and that she felt sick. It was logical, and he knew that with some water and perhaps headache medicine she'd likely start to feel better. He walked in at a normal pace, heading to where this girl had already sat down. He was surprised, but he realized that he was really starting to pay more attention to females than he had previously.
As he sat down, Neal would speak to this girl. "So, you feeling any better? If there is anything I can help with, feel free to ask." He looked the menu over, it was a standard Texan restaurant. The menu didn't have much choice, but he knew what he wanted already. "So, what do you think you're having?"

Re: Waking up in a cornfield in Texas... is that normal? (Open to one, maybe two people)
"I recommend the tea, it isn't half bad."
A voice emanated from the man who apparated at the of the table. Deep and monotonous, the elegantly-clad Oberon nodded his head at a seat next to them, removing his hat with a flourish. "May I?" Waiting for a response, he examined the pair. A youth, though tall he may have been, sat in one chair, clad in a refined manner with a business suit and tie. He appeared fairly confident, although not overly aggressive. He provided stark contrast to the girl he was with, who appeared disgruntled, confused, and moreover ill. She appeared slightly older than her companion, however significantly shorter. Concerned, Oberon spoke to the woman. "Pardon me, are you alright?" The question hung in the air, and Oberon leaned on his cane.

Re: Waking up in a cornfield in Texas... is that normal? (Open to one, maybe two people)
Morgan looked at the menu and just ordered a chicken ceaser salad. Her appetite had seemingly disappeared. A man had appeared and waved to a chair asking if he could sit down. Morgan nodded, she didn't see why not. She simply shook her head to Neals question. In fact she felt horrible and a bit sick to her stomach. "I'm fine just a bit... off." said Morgan, in inadvertently answering both of the men at the same time. Although Morgan looked like she was about to vomit. She didn't know what caused her to feel so sick. She didn't feel this bad until she tried to tell Neal her name. Her name... what was her name? The more she thought about it the more sick she felt. She got up and ran for the door and burst out side, running to the nearest bush she threw up bile and the meds she just took. Her entire body shook. She walked a bit more and sat down by a rock. She curled up and rocked slowly back to forth.
"I don't want to kill anymore. Please don't make me kill. I just want to be human. I didn't want this. Please they are my friends, my sisters." She kept muttering this over and over. Tears streamed down her face and her body continued to shake. However she seemed unaware to what she was saying.

Re: Waking up in a cornfield in Texas... is that normal? (Open to one, maybe two people)
Neal glanced at the man that began to sit down, he was suggesting what to get and it seemed that he was quite friendly. He suggested the tea, something that Neal had his eye on anyways. At the same time, this girl that only got off a Mor as to her name had requested a chicken ceaser salad. Neal had no taste for that at the moment, and instead ordered a grilled chicken club minus the tomato. Before long, the girl had to get up and leave the restaurant for a moment. She went outside with speed and seemed to vomit into a bush on the edge of the lot. Neal felt bad for her, sorry that she was as sick as she seemed to be. He ordered a glass of sweetened raspberry iced tea, and then went outside to see if he could provide some comfort to this girl.
"I'm sorry, is there anything I can do to help? It seems that you are quite provoked at the moment, I'd really like to help as much as I can to relieve any tension you may have." Neal leaned down next to her, hearing what she had been saying before he said anything. It was strange, he would remember what she had said regardless. He remembered everything, and would hope that what she said had some meaning. Perhaps he could help figure out who she was. Still though, he would simply sit next to her, and hope that she would respond to something.

Re: Waking up in a cornfield in Texas... is that normal? (Open to one, maybe two people)
About to ask the two about their arrival to the area, Oberon frowned at the curious pair as the first of them stumbled to their feet, and burst out the door. She, hurting towards a hedge on the edge of the parking lot, and knelt out his sight. He was about to inquire as to her manner when her companion stood and followed in her path. Feeling secure in knowing that he had already paid the restaurant for its meager service and tea, Oberon followed suit, leaning heavily on his cane, moving with his queer, two-legged limp.
Upon reaching the edge of the concrete lot, Oberon found the man leaning over next to the woman, who was shaking uncontrollably in an almost seizure-like way while rocking back and forth, crying, and muttering something over and over. "Is she..?" Oberon began, motioning towards the girl with his cane.

Morgan screamed and back pedaled away from Neal as he approached and sat down next to her. "No! You can't! I won't kill for you anymore!" she screeched. Once she was a few feet away she returned to rocking back and forth, murmuring the same thing as before. However she was loud enough so the Oberon and Neal could hear her. Pieces of her memory flashed before her eyes. How could they be real though? Morgan remembered growing up in southern Iowa. Her mother died after giving birth to her so it was just her and her dad. But the images flashing through her head where nothing like that.

Re: Waking up in a cornfield in Texas... is that normal? (Open to one, maybe two people)
Knowing that he wouldn't get through without saying something, Neal again began walking closer. This time however, he would speak with as much a soothing and calming voice he could muster. He wanted to be heard, but let whoever this girl was know that he just wanted to help. "It is ok, nobody will hurt you or force you to do anything. I want to do what I can to make it better, please stand up and let me take a look at you. Let me help, is there anything I can do?" Neal had a concerned and sympathetic look on his face, doing his best to be as sociable and kind as possible.
Neal would stand back a couple of feet, but start getting closer if she showed signs of being in a proper state of mind. 'I wonder what could have happened to her to warrant such words and murmurs. Is she even human, if she isn't then who made her? These are things that could be very important to know, and some things that may mean life and death to me if she continues along with me.'

Re: Waking up in a cornfield in Texas... is that normal? (Open to one, maybe two people)
The girl, having shoved the man away and lurched backwards, began to spew out semi-intelligible strings of words that Oberon took a second to work through in his mind. "Wait, boy, back away from her," he commanded, pointing a hand at the man standing next to the startled woman, "give her some room to breathe, and tell me what is going on here. Why is she scared? Are you forcing her to kill?" Oberon fingered the head of his cane, tugging slightly on its handle, just enough to offer a glimpse of the blade inside. "If you answer me truthfully, I'll help her recover from whatever... This is," he motioned to her shaking form, "and be on my way. I want no trouble."
