The Legacy

Personality: Zoom is a hero who operates on the border of what could be called a hero. He is willing to go to extraordinary lengths to defend the people of the world to the point that he will occasionally cross the edge. He has been known to ruthlessly attack and torture people who he believes to be involved with any kind of injustice. However most of the time he is a cheerful and wisecracking individual who makes it his mission to bring joy and humor to a situation. He is not a clown by any means and hates being described as anything like that. He is headstrong, arrogant, confident and willing to do anything to bring a criminal to justice.

History: Zoom was born in Melbourne Australia to two accountants Blake Smith and Maggie Smith. He was a sporting star throughout his childhood and youth and also learnt Karate during his childhood which he would later become a master of. He never really wanted to pursue any of it however until an enthusiastic gym teacher recognized his potential and made him train. He wasn't the greatest sportsmen to have ever graced the earth although he did have potential, he just didn't want to exploit all of it. Although he was pushed through high school to achieve exemplary academic results he chose not to and primarily focused on his martial arts training in Karate. He managed to make it through his years in high school and achieved decent results all around which he was quite content with. He did however soon encounter the problem that he lacked career opportunities. He decided to attempt to join the military although they declined his application. So instead he signed up for human testing. It was a supplement which had been developed in Australia and had already been proven to work on animals. It gave the subject a slight metabolic boost and also slightly increased their physical abilities. It was supposed to be a great supplement for people to take on a day to day basis. The company was ready to make massive profits.

However something went wrong. An unprecedented reaction in Skylar's body caused the effects to be amplified greatly. They were unsure what it was however immediately upon taking the pill Skylar began to scream before promptly collapsing on the ground without a further word. When he awoke he was in hospital and soon discovered that he had developed numerous superpowers as well as a huge appetite. The supplement had had permanent and amplified effects. After discovering this Skylar assumed the superhero identity of Blink and resolved to fight crime. His primary reason for doing this was because he wanted to put his talents to good use.

The Powers

Power 1: Super Speed: Zoom's primary ability and the one he has come to rely upon the most during combat. He is capable of running at speeds of up to 550 mph (885km) and accelerating within three seconds. His speed is not perfect as he still requires time to accelerate and stop. With his speed he is capable of creating tornados by spinning his body at top speeds (although these are small and incapable of major destruction) which are the height of his own body, creating tornados by spinning his hands rapidly and greatly increasing the power of his punches.

Power 2: Strength: Zoom has superhuman strength due to his physical augmentation and although it is far from the greatest among the meta human community it is enough to be able to lift a car. Coupled with his super strength Zoom can deliver quite powerful blows.

Power 3: Regeneration: Due to his physical augmentation and increased metabolism Zoom has developed a greatly enhanced regeneration ability. He is able to recover from what would normally be fatal wounds in only a few minutes. This is not perfect however as wounds that totally destroy the body cannot be healed.
