Sexual Content 2: Sexual content is permitted. References and writing about genitalia and sex acts are permitted, but explicit detail is not. Fade to black, or use the dotdotdot rule. (Let's keep it PG-13.)
Violence 2: Graphic violence is permitted. Explicit description or in-game narration violence is allowed.

Re: 12 Days Of DC
The greatest death, if you can really count it as such, was that of the second Flash, Barry Allen. He had been a mainstay of the Justice League and one of the most iconic characters in the industry. It is actually Barry Allen that is commonly attributed for ushering in the Silver Age of comics, though some do debate that. I really don't know if this can be considered a death since he technically didn't die, he was really pulled into the Speed Force, an alternate dimension where everyone is gifted with super speed, and he stayed there for a long time. Staying dead longer then most heroes these days it seems. All in all though, he did it to save the day from The Anti-Monitor.
This actually brought another thing up that is mildly interesting as well, this also shows the once good natured rivalry between Marvel and DC, but in Marvel the death of Barry Allen took him to that universe where he beat their fastest supers in a race. Making Barry Allen one of the fastest beings in two Comic Book Industries. That isn't related but if you didn't know it then it's kind of cool. I always like to tell people about it.
That's the best picture I could find sadly. That's supposed to be Barry Allen though.

Re: 12 Days Of DC
Let's all thank Daddy Cosmos for today's question. Day 7: Favorite Location.
There are so many excellent secret bases and hideouts, but my favorite place in all of DC comics is Titans Tower. I always thought it was such a cool base, because not only was it equipped with the regular superhero stuff, but it was also a home and hangout for the Teen Titans. As a kid I always wished I could live there. Still do, actually. That would be totally sweet.

Favourite Location - Arkham Asylum
This is a simple choice for me. The Asylum has always had a near Cthulu influence to how dark and creepy it was with huge Gothic theming juxtaposition'd to modern technology and some Art Deco themes. Arkham Asylum is the permanent weight on Batman's shoulders, a place where nearly all of his villains are gathered at one point or another. Some great Batman stories use this place as a pivotal linchpin and honestly its just plain cool to imagine all of those kinds of clashing personalities having this one single place they can officially or unofficially call home. I really enjoy the fact that Batman is only a short step away from being an inmate too, with Hugo Strange and Amadeus Arkham being interesting foils linked to its histories. Lets not forget Harleen Quinzel.
Its become something of a center piece to Gotham City in my opinion and greatly held my interest for a lot of time.

Re: 12 Days Of DC
Favorite Location
I'm not really sure if this counts as a location given it is sentient but it was either this or Mogo, whom is also sentient, so this would basically be the same no matter what. Danny the Street is a transvestite sentient street that can squeeze itself anywhere in the world it wants to be, although sometimes they make it more of a sub dimension like in The New 52 Teen Titans, but that turned out to be terrible so I pretend it doesn't exist. In case you didn't know the way you can tell Danny is a transvestite is due to the fact that all the stores on him are manly, such as gun stores, army and navy recruitment stations, and things of the like, but they are all decorated in a feminine fashion. Danny the Street was created by Grant Morrison, that should explain part of any confusion you may have at this point, for Doom Patrol's Vertigo run, that should explain the other half of the confusion. It's just an interesting concept that few people can really make work, I don't even think I can make it work if that tells you anything, and I've always managed to enjoy.
Also, if we're getting to suggest ideas for tomorrow's question I would like to pitch one or two...
1) Favorite Animal (or Pet)
2) Favorite Mystically Based Character
3) Favorite Detective
4) Favorite Secret Organization
5) Favorite Sidekick
6) Least Favorite of any of the ones before this.

Re: 12 Days Of DC
Day 8 people, what's your favorite line in DC history?
Mine goes to Supes talking to the Flash in JLA #4.
SUPERMAN: "I can only tell you what I believe, Diana: humankind has to be allowed to climb to its own destiny. We can't carry them there."
FLASH: "But that's what she's saying. What's the point? Why should they need us at all?"
SUPERMAN: "To catch them if they fall."

Re: 12 Days Of DC
Favourite Line - Dr Manhattan
"I prefer the stillness here. I am tired of Earth. These people. I am tired of being caught in the tangle of their lives."
I can relate to this kind of thinking quite a bit, ironically. I think that's what makes it one of Watchman's best lines. He is trying to explain how extraordinary wary he is and how terrible it is to keep forcing himself through the motions of trying to connect to people. After a long story of him appearing to be disconnected from people, an alien among humans, he does one of the most human things; he mourns. For himself, for his past, for how tired he is.
The wariness and weight of this line is one of the best things I think.

Re: 12 Days Of DC
I'm almost 100% sure the movie All-Star Superman is also a comic, so I'm going to use some dialogue between Lex Luthor and Superman.
At this point in the story Lex Luthor has ingested some 24 hour superpower serum, and is realizing the meaning to life.
Nasthalthia: Are you okay?
Lex Luthor: Better than okay. I can see the entire electromagnetic spectrum and those must be atoms, little clouds of possibility. Einstein couldn't connect the gravitational force to the other three, but if he could have seen this... It's so obvious.
Nasthalthia: Uncle Lex?
Lex Luthor: The fundamental forces are yoked by consciousness. Everything's connected. Everyone. And this how he sees things all the time. Every day.
Nasthalthia: I don't know if I should be worried or mortified.
Lex Luthor: It's a cruel joke. The mechanistic clockwork of reality hinging on a precious impossible defiance of entropy, on life. And the clockwork doesn't care. It's like - Like it's all just us, in here together. We're all we've got.
Nasthalthia: You are embarrassing me beyond therapy.
Superman: You'll have to forgive him, Nasthalthia. He just figured out how everything works.
Then, Superman uses a gravity gun to warp time around Lex, causing the 24 hours to run out in a matter of minutes.
Lex Luthor: Give it back. I saw everything. I saw how to save the world. I could have made everyone see. If it wasn't for you, I could have saved the world!!!
Superman: If it had mattered to you, Luthor, you could have saved the world years ago.
Lex Luthor: You're right...
This scene just made the entire movie. Lex FINALLY seeing it from Superman's point of view, and realizing that all these years, he's been a total douchebag.
