Personality: Tia has most often been described as a “Pollyanna”. In public, Tia is an eternal optimist always seeing or seeking and finding the best in everyone and every situation. She can be annoyingly upbeat at times, but most people are eventually won over by her charm. In private, Tia tends to brood on why her parents had to die and why her stepmother and stepbrother hate her so much.

History: Tia Paradis was born in Ingleside, Texas. Her father was the brilliant scientist Walter Paradis who routinely did contract work for Cooper, Goodyear, and Michelin as well as NASA, working to improve and stabilize the durability of rubber. Her mother was Kaj Kitwana, an actress and singer of some note.
Tia believes that exposure to the chemicals that came home on her father’s clothing and hands resulted in her condition.
Kaj Kitwana-Paradis died in an automobile accident when Tia was 7, but not before instilling in the young girl a love of music, primarily pop and rock –n-roll from the 50’s and 60’s. Within a year Water had remarried, in a strange coincidence, the driver of the other vehicle, Wanda Lankowski, also a scientist. Wanda brought to the marriage two children of her own 11 year old Marko and Ami, age 6.
Wanda and Marko seemed to take an instant dislike to Tia, yet young Ami, glad to finally have a sister, grew to love her.
Walter threw himself into his work after the wedding leaving young Tia more and more alone with her step mother and new siblings. Both Wanda and Marko did everything in their power to make Tia’s life miserable, but Tia retained her sunny disposition, often bolstered by the songs her mother had loved.
Tia discovered her gift, or at least recognized it for what it was following a particularly violent fight with Marko. Even though Marko repeatedly punched and kicked the young girl, Tia came out of the fight sore and slightly bruised, but with no lasting damage. Realizing she was special she experimented over the next few years, often aided and accompanied by Ami Lankowski, and learned a modicum of control over her abilities.
Shortly after Tia turned 13, Walter succumbed to an undiagnosed brain tumor, leaving Tia alone with her stepmother. Wanda immediately began researching boarding school.


Powers: Tia’s has the ability to turn her entire body, inside and out, to a hard, rubberized consistency. This ability serves several purposed, primarily, protection. She instinctively rubberizes when she is struck by and force. She can choose to rubberize at any time she wishes. She uses her rubberized form to make herself a living projectile, bouncing off of whatever is hand and bowling into her opponent. She does not have pinpoint control and has been known to bounce wildly out of control. Tia believes she will one day be able to control her form enough to add stretching to her repertory.

Roleplay Sample: Writing Sample:
The students at Ingleside Jr. High laughed and cheered as the fire alarms blared. With much high-fiving and horseplay they exited the building and assembled in a slightly organized manner in the parking lot. Tia Paradis walked along with her best friends Kevin and Keri, the Thompson twins, laughing and joking like the rest of the students. Once in the parking lot, Keri was the first to notice the thick white smoke pouring from the second floor windows.
Tia immediately began searching the throng for her younger stepsister, Ami, without finding her.
Fire trucks began roaring up the driveway and firemen began doing what firemen do, unrolling hoses, attaching them to fire hydrants, and yelling. Several fire fighter ran into the building.
A sudden explosion shook the building and flames jetted out of several of the second floor windows. The fire fighters who had entered the building began pouring back out.
Tia stood dumbfounded with her friends and watched, one eye always looking out for Ami.
“Tia!”
Tia’s head jerked around. She’d recognize Ami’s voice anywhere. She searched the crowd for the younger girl.”Ami?” she asked into the confusion.
“Tia! Help me!”
Tia whirled again searching the crowded parking lot.
“UP HERE! TIA!”
Tia spun and located Ami, frantically waving from a second floor window. The 7th grader grabbed the nearest fire fighter and pointed. “My sister, help my sister!”
The fire fighter turned to look just as the entire roof of the school exploded into flames. “we can’t get in there, miss. She’ll have to jump.” Raising his voice he called, “Hey Roger, grab the net and get over here. Now!”
“Jump?” Tia whispered, then watched as the fire fighters tried, without my luck, to push through the crowd of students who were unintentionally impeding their efforts.
“Jump,” Tia said louder, “yeah, I can do that.”
Turning, she ran toward the back of the school building, away from the crowd. As she ran, she drew a ski mask from her backpack and pulled it on. Sprinting toward the burning building she jumped as high as she could and activated her gift. Her skin, bones, muscles, and internal organs hardened to the consistency of rubber, and she bounced. She bounced away from the flames, ricocheted off a nearby school bus, and sailed back toward the windows of the second floor.
“Ooooff!” Tia slammed into the brick building, missing the window by scant inches and fell to the ground. “Ungh”
She rose back to her feet and repeated the maneuver, this time on target, smashing through a window and into a class room filled with flames. “Ami!” she screamed.
Tia ran across the room through the smoke and the flame. She could feel the heat of the fire even through her rubberized skin and she noticed smoke rising from her clothing. Bursting through the door, she quickly ran across the hallway and into the room where Ami crouched under a desk that was already in flames.
“Hey, Ames,” she called, “ you done working on your tan?”
The frightened little girl grinned and tried to laugh, but choked on the smoke, then quickly scrambled out from under the desk and rose to her feet. “Can we go now, Tia?” The younger girl seemed on the verge of tears.
Tia glanced at the ceiling, which was totally engulfed in flames, and nodded. “Yep, Sis, time to go.”
A sound like gunfire echoed through the room as Tia began sprinting toward Ami. The 7th grader executed and perfect textbook tackle, her shoulder striking the younger girl mid-torso and her momentum carried the two girls through the window and sent them crashing to the ground.
Tia twisted in mid air so that she landed on bottom and Ami was cushioned by her rubberized body. “Owww!” Tia grunted as she pushed Ami off of her body. “You gotta lose some weight, kiddo.

You have two slots for 'Durability.' That is unneeded. You also would need EP for your power.

So, I'm going to give you a chance to sort stuff out before I trash this for inactivity.

That picture is fine, but she looks WAY older than 13. I'd at least make her 15.

As long as she can never fly or have pseudo flight with the rubberized power, I am fine. Bouncing is cool.
