Samantha was walking down the streets of Brooklyn when some kid threw a rock at the back of her kid. Hey! Get back here you little shit! she yelled, turning around only to see him run into the crowd. Parting her hair with her hand, she realized looking for someone in a New York crowd on street level was pointless. She looked over and saw a fire-escape that went up to roof level. OK then, I have a way to find him. she muttered.

Samantha quickly grabbed the fire escape and climbed up to the roof. Seeing the hooded kid running through the street she jumped across and ran on the roof-tops following him, seeing him throwing a rock at some other guy. Wonder who that was... she thought as she jumped across a gap and grabbed the window-ledge. Seeing the kid go in an alley, she slid down a broken gutter, cushioning her fall with some of the water left on the ground, and ran towards the kid. Hey! you little shit! What's wrong with you! she yelled at the kid. Your kind disgust me! retorted the kid as he picked up another rock. Throwing it he had a smirk on his face, but that smirk disappeared when Samantha blocked it using the water from a nearby puddle. Now lets see if you can take a punch.. Samantha said, walking towards the kid, generating water-whips behind her.

Finally! A New Yorker with water powers, seriously is there only like, two of us? Samantha said as she turned around, seeing the other guy with a sharp tendril of water swirling around his form. Samantha! This boy has a great amount of magic power within him! exclaimed Kayuk, the Navajo beaver God, her favorite one of the gods who spoke to her actually. Shit up for a second Kayuk! she exclaimed inside her head. Hey you, Frea......!!! the kid was about to say something but Samantha knocked him down with a fast and deliberate strike of water. Sit down little boy! she yelled at him.

Seeing the man behind her, Samantha felt a huge magical energy radiate off him, it was as vast as the ocean, and also as entrancing. Her knees buckled, not from any sort-of attraction, but from the feeling of insignificance that this man brought about in her. WOW, that man is immensely powerful... Samantha heard Kayuk say. I think me and you should talk stranger Samantha said, and let her water-whips dissolve back into water.

Talk? I want to talk because you're the only other one I have met with this power. Samantha said. Seeing another hydrokinetic was strange, as she had fought countless villains, heroes, and renegades, yet this was the only who ever had water based power. Well, well, well, this man does not have any gods as a source of his power. That is indeed strange. said Kayuk to Samantha. Samantha got over the initial shock and her old domineering personality took over. Listen, that reaction was just shock, I would like to speak with you though, can we go to a cafe, or something? Samantha inquired. Having a large amount of free time on her hands, as she was just doing freelance photo-journalism and some mechanics on the side, Samantha knew everywhere in Brooklyn where you could get a nice seat and a cheap cup of coffee. She wanted to ask the guy to help her to learn to control her powers, as he seemed very experienced. She wanted to grow in power, and this guy could help her. The cafe she wanted to talk at was called Grogio's and it was known for having coffee that could wake up a dead guy. It was on Martense Street. So, you up for some coffee? Oh and i almost forgot, what's your name stranger? Samantha said, extending her hand in greeting.

Good thing you decided to come with me, I would have dragged you and made you talk if you said no, good thing it won't come to that. she said in a joking voice. Kayuk was feeling something strange forom the boy. Almost as if there were another presence in him. It reminded him of a case he had resolved during his ruling years of a boy possessed by Fakik the Bear spirit, it seemed malevolent, but then again the boy must have it under control. Suddenly, a great idea struck Samantha, to test the man's mettle, she would not hail a taxi or walk. No she would take the rooftops again. Having had no way to get around the city, and no money for taxi's when she first got to the big apple, she had learned to parkour. She was so skilled at it that she could have probably won a medal in gymnastics if she wanted to. Her black eyes seemed to glitter with the mischievous thought. Tell ya what, you can take a taxi or walk, here is the address, and I will take the rooftops, let's see who gets there first. Samantha said. She always relished a challenge. Grabbing a window-ledge she hopped up clambered onto the roof, and she was off, jumping across the buildings, pulling out flips, spread eagles, and other awesome tricks. This was a real rush, knowing you could die at any moment, but having the skill not to. She saw the cafe in sight, and redoubled her speed.

Seeing the man in the shop, Samantha was hanging on a lamp-post, she jumped down In front of Sean and said You're pretty fast I'll give ya that! She then called over a waiter, and waited to be seated. Well then, talk to the boy Sam! said Kayuk to her. For once in your life can you wait one second Kayuk? retorted Samantha. Sam was very driven to find out more about her powers, as she was frequently told by Kayuk that her "full potential" was still locked. She also occasionally lost control of her powers in combat, and wanted to learn how to stop that. Well then, I think we should get introduced, as I'm anxious to ask you some stuff about this "superpower" business. said Sam to the other hydrokinetic as she sat down with her coffee and gingerbread.

Well, I'm pretty new at this stuff, and sometimes I can't fully control my powers. I was looking for someone to help me learn how to use these. I have the basics down, but I have no idea how to do the rest. Samantha said as she sat down sipping her warm coffee. Well, well, well I think this gentleman will be rather helpful to us now won't he? Kayuk said to Samantha. He certainly won't stunt my progress Kayuk Samantha thought back to the little beaver. Continuing to drink her coffee, Samantha brushed her long hair out of her face, exposing her pretty eyes, and said Well then do I have a trainer? Or should I look somewhere else? She had a sort-of pleading look on her face, not desperate, more like she needed a friend.

Really? Thanks, you wont regret this later. Samantha said as she realized her looks didnt really effect this guy at all, oh well. Samantha explained about how her powers came from a magical source, which she guessed that Sean also had magical powers, though not from the same source as her. While she talked she also explained how, lately, she had been losing control over her powers.

As she got up, getting ready to leave, she said to Sean Well then, shall we get started on my training? with a smile on her face.
