Lyssa's Mirage, a Ring for a Wanderer
Item will be used by Jonathon Wilder: http://superhero-rpg.forumotion.com/t2821-jonathon-wilder-an-immortal-watcher-and-entertainer#45786
Name: Lyssa's Mirage
Abilities: This ring allows Jonathon to create illusionary terrain and duplicates of himself all by enhancing his already powerful magic and by expanding his magic's uses. This item is powered by Jonathon Intelligence, though more so from his creativeness and imagination, as the more he knows the better he can use the ring.
Description: An intricate silver ring with swirls and what seems to be a serpentine dragon around the gem. The gem itself is a rubellite tourmaline and beautifully cut. Yet the gem does not stay a purple color, as when activated it seems to take on a rainbow hue.

Re: Lyssa's Mirage, a Ring for a Wanderer
As you increase the number of illusions it will half the intelligence you put into the action.
So, if holding up terrain, it gets powered by 6 intelligence thus making it very powerful and meaning that people with 7 intelligence see through it, people with 6 intelligence notice something wrong, but it takes them around a turn, so on. If you then change your appearance, it makes both illusions powered by a 3 intelligence, making it so 7,6,5,4 intelligence see through it, and then matched intelligence does the same as above.

Re: Lyssa's Mirage, a Ring for a Wanderer
So I better limit the ring's use if I want it to be more effective, okay.
Wait, changing appearance should be separate as it is a realitively minor effect and needed for Jonathon to 'costume up' as well as being a natural extention of the magic Jonathon has learned to use for over 300 years.
The ring is for making illusionary terrain and duplicates of himself.

Re: Lyssa's Mirage, a Ring for a Wanderer
So how will Jonathon costume up? I mean Jonathon has spent many, many years learning magic and illusions. I could at least see him being able to change his appearance with less effort then something like illusionary duplicates and terrain.
He is a performer and entertainer, costume change and a change in appearance is second nature.

Re: Lyssa's Mirage, a Ring for a Wanderer
It's too powerful for game mechanics if its any other way. Changing his appearance in a new terrain would be just as powerful. This is a mechanic ruling, not a character history based ruling. This character is very powerful, and not limiting him would make his mechanic broken.
Re: Lyssa's Mirage, a Ring for a Wanderer
Sign, okay all illusions will be effect by the ring, though not the illusionary based summoning as that is a part of EP... that and they are the only illusions that have physical nature.
I understand what you are saying, but I admit I find it annoying.
