Personality: Tempest is a very calm and level headed young woman. When tensions rise between her fellow heroes, she's usually the one to try and cool things down. She's rather kind hearted and mellow. She enjoys singing and is an actress by profession. She used to be a model so she also isn't shy in most aspects. Despite her potential to be one of the most powerful metahumans alive, she is rather afraid of spiders and is notably claustrophobic. She's also fairly uncomfortable around druken men. A personal problem between her and her mother as a young girl before her mother died has left her scarred and dreadful about being called worthless. Because of insecurities whihc often display as an inferiority complex, Tempest's powers aren't even close to reaching their full potential and perhaps never will so long as she remains so distant to herself. She has no current significant other and would prefer that should she find anyone, that they not be involved in the metahuman world to secure their safety.

History: Janeen's powers come as a result of an explosion, technicaly two explosions. She'd been modeling at an art studio for a photoshoot when two teens on a field trip at North Labs wandered off to wreak havoc. They found a room with a powerful reactor and decided to see what it did. Security showed up, however, and the boys escaped through the window, leaving the machine on high. The scientist that security called to shut it off noted that the start up procedure hadn't been done properly and he couldn't shut the machine down. Later, when the photoshoot was over and Janeen had finished getting her things together, she heard screams from outside. She ran to find out what it was. As soon as she reached the front door to the studio, however, the core in the machine emploded, resulting in an explosion of the core's properties, followed by an explosion caused by combustion. Janeen, being closest to the building, was effected by both blasts and thrown across the street, into the side of a passing car. The lab and studio as well as any other building immediately in range of the lab was either heavily damaged or completely leveled. Later, Janeen awoke to find herself in the hospital. Driven mad by the elements of the core in her mind, she lashed out, displaying her powers for the first time in causing several pieces of equipment in the room to spontaneously burst into flames and others to simply transform into metal somehow. She broke out of the hospital and, left confused, pursued a criminal career for a short while before ultimately changing her ways after a hero told her of the wonderous good she could do with her kind of power. She accepted an offer of amnesty but at one catch. She didn't want any aspects of her identity revealed to the public and so they weren't. She has since become a powerful hero and could potentially become far more powerful if she hadn't established mental blocks to keep her from reverting to her criminal ways. Some time into her superhero career, her powers were dampened somewhat, taking some of their edge but not nearly enough to matter.

Powers: Tempest possesses the power of Elemental Transmutation. In terms of magic it's referred to as Alchemy. As displayed so far, Tempest holds many basics but she hardly has mastered her abilities and more than likely never will. At this point she has displayed abilities to Turn herself and other material into a solid, liquid or gaseous form, Cause solid objects to disintegrate, Speed up chemical reactions, Cause explosions, Turn metal into gold, Turn minerals into metal, Crystallize objects, Increase the heat of an object, burning it, Decrease an objects' heat freezing it, Can generate lightning by manipulating the charges of atoms, and Limited Regeneration. The dampening effects on her powers prevent her from using her powers to directly harm a human such as to transform air into toxic gas or kill them where they stand. She can also exude a psionic force to kill pathogens, control aromas, manipulate the atmos of a broke object to restore it, pull things apart on an atomic level, and enhance flames by manipulating flammable gases into it. As it seems, use of her larger and more powerful scale powers leaves a potent dizzying effect which lasts up to fifty seconds. Other more potent powers tend to cause her significant pain and can tear her body apart should they be in use for too long. certain powers she is incapable of accessing thanks to the dampeners holding her mind back. Lastly, some powers that are a bit less potent, require recharging for range of 30 seconds to a full minute. Thus the only powers she has learned to outdo the limits of include her ability to change the states of matter of herself and other objects as well as her ability to generate and manipulate lightning by controlling charges of atoms.



Below are the powers she is actually capable of and the limits they provide. It also lists how I imagine the EP would fit into them.

Alchemic Capabilities & Limiting Factors
-State of Matter Transmutation - No Limiter however she cannot maintain a state of matter aside from her natural one for any longer than 8 hours. If used in more frequent, shorter bursts, she needn't recharge (2)
-Generating of "Lightning" - No Limiter (3)
-Restore or Tear apart things on molecular level - Pain regardless of the size of the object. Dizziness if a larger object. She tends to not be capable of repeating this action for at least an hour simply due to fatigue. (1)


EDIT: They do half her own strength and capability by inducing dizzying effects or pain. Better?

You should throw the extra point onto strength then, since you're average right now.

Looking at your alchemy now, though it still seems a bit powerful to me.

"6 – High Superhuman- Has an astonishing healing rate. Able to heal most major wounds in about a minute to 30 seconds. Minor are gone almost as fast as they appeared. Manipulation powers become a major threat to even superhumanly durable foes, and can be fatal to those that aren’t. As well as projection powers. Extremely complex ablilities can take form at this level."

I'm iffy on this, but I still say that you're too powerful even with 6 EP. Your power of alchemy seems to be many different powers rolled together. I'd like a second opinion though.

I don't have the extra point anymore, she can glide or hover or whatever it was when she's reduces herself to a gas. Sort of like a long jump with some limited directional change. And as I explained, she can't actually DO all of that. That's just a basic explanation of Alchemy. I can highlight the ones she's actually capable of and give a list of what goes with what limiting factor if you desire.

I agree with Nightkill, your alchemy does seem too powerful. I think that alchemy shouldn't be allowed to cover such a wide spread of abilities, even if they all may fall under it in reality. I'm not saying that alchemy should be banned or that you have to change your power but you do need to limit it. Especially with the new split EP rule, I don't think it's fair for alchemy to cover so many powers without the drawback of halving there strength. In my opinion the fairest way to set up your power would be to take 1-2 of your EP and let them power a couple of those minor powers you labeled, then have the rest of your EP go into a single power so that you can still have at least one powerful means of defense/offense (Such as causing explosions or creating electricity).

Oh, that will work Soul. Go ahead and label them and I'll let you know if you'll still need to split your EP throughout them.

I see no fuss. The explanation you've given of your powers is quite stable, and clear. I understand what you mean when it comes to how you split up your powers. As for your EP being split up that way, I have no argument against that.. but you do understand the attacks, or anything alike to that will be weak with the way you have one to two points used for each power. S'long as you don't act all over powerful, when it's clearly stated in your application that each power is not all that strong, I've got no issue with approving you.. but I'll let Pain be the final answer on this.

Just edited. I took off the 1 point attributed to regeneration essentially getting rid of the power. All my characters can heal and I don't want to be a heal monger so I took that one off. I gave the point to the lightning.

Alright, seems fine to me, but be aware that your 'Explosion' power will be very weak with only 1 EP point powering it. Small, wimpy explosions at best. IMO this should be removed and the remaining point should go into "State of Matter Transformation", I feel that it is a 2 EP power, not a 1.

Other than that, no problems here. Just let me know what colors you'd like for the grid.
