A little recruitment

Elena chose the perfect place to join. It was simply brillant. Noone would be around for miles. She made sure of that. After all. This was all her plan anyway. S.C.A.R had just returned so it needed new members. The organization wouldn't last long without them. Especially since there were only about five members to date. So a little recruitment was in order. Wheter Chaos the leader approved of her methods or not was unimportant. This was how she did things and that was that.
She wore the usual attire. A simple white tank top. Tight ripped up blue jeans. Leather strap sandals. Hair red like fire fell down her back. While her eyes were a pale dead looking green. Next to her was Malice. In all his tan skin white haired glory. Staticy shadow snakes slithered about his back and shoulders. Coal black eyes looking at them in mute fascination. On her other side was huntress. She wore a simple tank top. Tight yet fashionable leather pants. With knee high leather boots. A small pouch on her thigh and another on her back. She was examining a crossbolt in her hand. Green eyes looking it over. She was preparing for the initites into S.C.A.R to arrive.

They were in a small abandoned feild outside a rusty old barn. far away from any highways. not too far though out of the bounds of New York. Noone would be here to intreupt this. She was waiting for Victor Vincent as well. He would be greatly needed in case more people than she expected came. After all she had a promising water manipulator as well as some others coming. S.C.A.R would have a fresh batch of talent. Something she looked for direly. Her and the two with her sat on the mammoth remains of an old wheat harvester. Though why it was here was beyond her. She took no time to study agriculture. So things like this didn't really concern her. Foot tapping gainst the soil. Which was dry, cracked and covered in dying weeds. An old grain silo was falling apart in the distance. Storm clouds forming in the sky. As a low rumble of thunder could be heard in the distance. A storm was coming. Though not a single thing would be altered due to it. This was her plan so nothing could go wrong in her mind. After all it was just a little recruitment.

It was silent. Almost too silent... dead silent, even. Not because no one was talking (no one was talking though...), but because no one was around for miles. Except him, the recruiters, and the rest of the recruits. The recruits of what though? Oh, how could he forget? ... The recruits of S.C.A.R. ...But who was he, exactly? Some young boy running an errand for his father? A women about to go shopping at the mall? Perhaps a dog? No, not even close. He was Master Mind; a tactical genius known as number one; numero uno. Only the rare few have ever spoken his name, and those few payed the consequence for even uttering his existence. They were slaughtered. It wasn't that he was an evil man, he just got things done. He was a battle genius at heart, and knew to cover his tracks. Unless of course, his plan was to spread his name out. To be known by the world, to have accomplishments recognized, and respect given as earned.

Still, he wasn't here to demand respect, or accomplish anything catastrophic, or even to be known by the world. He was here to do something of a different significance. Something he thought he would never do in his life time. Master Mind was here to abandon his loner act, and join a group of great power. He was to join S.C.A.R.... but of course, they had to test him first.

Clenching his fists, his cloak picked up from the wind. A storm, maybe? The hooded man, as he liked to call himself (since it sounded somewhat mysterious), paused and looked at the sky. Several dark clouds were forming... Perfect. The only unfortunate aspect of the day was that his "uniform" wasn't a rain-coat. He wore a dark, black cloak with a tight grey shirt that clung to his chest. White bandages were wrapped around his stomach and arms, and he wore specially-made dark grey pants with a black belt. Two M.E.U.(S.O.C.) pistols were slung by his hips. The MEUs were magazine-fed, recoil-operated, single-action, and semiautomatic pistol chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge. Just some standard-issue issue side arms. They were merely for protection if he didn't need to use his powers. From there he wore sneakers. His entire set of clothing was made special just for him because of his powers. But he wasn't going to stand there and explain that to himself.

Walking through the fields, he quickly noticed a barn in the distance. Its paint was faded, and it almost looked like it was about to collapse. Not long after his gaze left the view of the old, rusty barn did he notice something else. Three figures were in the distance, and the powerful auras the trio emitted was incredibly alarming, disturbing even. They radiated incredible power, and he instantly recognized them as the recruiters from S.C.A.R. This was going to be very interesting, very interesting indeed.

"Yo," he calmly said to the three. Looking at Elena, Malice, and The Huntress, he could tell that he was the first recruit there. Surprising? No, not really. He was 15 feet away from the three recruiters and he wasn't going to get much closer. Why? He was being recruited into S.C.A.R. The test may have already started. To create a more relaxed atmosphere, Master Mind decided to introduce himself. "My name is Master Mind, as you've surely heard, and I can't wait to be working with you... I mean, if I get in, of course." He was a fairly smart individual, and he knew that the dumbest idea would be to make a bad first-impression. Then again, he may just have made a bad impression. No time better than the present to find out, though... right? But how could he make a perfect first-impression anyways? His entire face was shrouded in the darkness of his hood. And even then he wore more precautionary measures to hide his face. Master Mind wondered whether they would find him mysterious... or suspicious. But either one worked for him.

What now?

Victor walked slowly, through a long plain field of grass that looked like it would never end. He wore a long black cloak, similar to a trench coat expect this one only hung low in the back, and a dark grey shirt, with neat jet black jeans that cuffed right above his boots. He attire was very dull and colorless, the only thing on him that wasn’t black or grey were his blood shot eyes. Around the back of his waist, hidden behind his long cloak, Victor’s katana rested in it’s case. Following lazily behind him was his puppet, dragging it’s wooden feet through the tall grass as Victor walked. It was almost completely silent, the only sound around him the screeching of a crow. His crow, Vicious. Vicious flew in circles in the sky around Victor, as he walked through this open plain to no where. At the same slow steady pace, Victor kept walking.

Vincent had his eyes closed and his head held low, staring at the grass beneath his feet. He wasn’t far now, according to Elena he was suppose to be looking for a old barn, but from the direction he was coming from it would take longer then Elena would have anticipated. But none of that mattered, Victor made sure he left in time that he would be there before he would be needed. As he walked he felt the wind start to pick up, followed by a loud bang of thunder that made Vicious screech even louder. A storm was brewing and about to pour down, but it didn’t really effect Victor, or the pace that he was walking at. Uncertain climates do not entice him. Vincent looked up and opened his eyes, to see he was standing at the top of a hill, looking down in the distance at the old barn. He seemed to find himself in places like this too often. Victor could see Elena standing with her two minions, and a cloaked man walking up from in front of them. Victor began making his way down the hill, he was coming from directly behind Elena, and would most likely remain unseen until he spoke out, or got to close.

After the man known as ‘Master Mind’ spoke, but before Elena had a chance to respond, almost out of no where Vicious landed on a small rock in between all of them and let out a loud screech. Barely even a second after the crow’s cry, Victor’s voice starting coming from beside Elena. ”Welcome Master Mind. We’ve been expecting you.” Not far off to the right of Elena, stood Victor, leaning against old barn. Vicious let out another, less loud cry then flew off the rock and landed on Victor’s shoulder. ”As soon as the others arrive, we can begin. But until, just relax, you’ll need to be ready if you expect to pass our trials.” Victor then chuckled to himself, and looked over at Elena. ”Lets not reveal our plans until they have all arrived, I’d like to keep it a surprise. It makes it all the more interesting when they find out.” All these recruits knew that they would be tested, but to have to randomly choose your opponent to prove your worth anything was going to be pretty interesting.

Frost made his way through the field, it was old and barren, nothing had grown there in a long time, and Frost could feel it in the absence of water in the ground. The ground itself wouldn’t be much help to him if things got ugly but luckily for him there was more than enough water in the air, the added chance of rain was more than appealing for him. This was going to be a great day, especially with how crappy the past few days had been.

It looked like Frost wasn’t the only one around from the looks of things, there were definitely a couple others there as well but none of them seemed to be very threatening to him. He shifted his duffle bag so that it was better situated on his shoulder and didn’t dig so deeply in to it, it didn’t hurt but it was an annoyance that he didn’t like. He didn’t really pay anymore mind to the others, he was just trying to keep his mind on the prize and that was to get into S.C.A.R. no matter what.

Then he saw her, Elena, and there were two other people that he didn’t know, they looked intimidating and that didn’t help Frost’s nerves. “Hey sexy,” He called out to Elena, “how is all this going to go down?” He questioned. He knew the comment could possibly get under her skin but that wouldn’t be such a bad thing, it would be interesting to see it, no matter what it was.

“Last time we met you just told me to show up here,” Frost said getting closer, “I’m here what now.” He was talking big to hide the fact that he was more than a little scared. What had he gotten himself into?

Hound knelt down, he reached out and scooped up the dry, untended soil and raised his hand. Allowing the dirt to sift through his fingers he followed the trail as the wind caught and carried it off. The tracker glanced up at the sky, the clouds were a steel grey, and the wind was picking up, a sure sign a storm was brewing.

He sniffed the air, there was a charge in the air. A thunderstorm, a nasty one at that. The young man stood dusted himself off. Hound had the appearance a rather dirty homeless man. Along his travels the man had come across some old abandoned Canadian infantry clothes. He was now sporting old worn leather combat boots, a few sizes too big camouflage baggy infantry pants which were held up by a rope belt, a green muscle shirt with an old camouflage tunic that was now missing three out of the five buttons on the from of the shirt, thus simply being left open. His hair no longer contained twigs, leaves and clumps of mud, but it was still a far cry from clean. His bear was more manageable now, but still gave him a wild savage appearance.

He glanced down the empty highway, nary a car insight. In fact, it had been nearly an hour since he last seen a car. In the distance he could see an old farm, he couldn't make much details out but he could tell the roof was collapsing, most likely abandoned. Hound took off at a sprint that would impress most Olympic contenders, though it was still a far cry from anything "super."

With in moments he closed the distance, but he quickly came to a halt, a smell that made him drop to the ground like a lion on the hunt. The wind was carrying the sent of six individuals, all of them were strange, very strange. He could tell by their sweat that two were female, and four were male, but that wasn't the only thing he could smell... Gun oil. At least one of them was armed, additionally they all had a smell most humans didn't have. Were they mutants? Casters? He couldn't tell, his experience was limited and all he could tell was they were dangerous.

No one was in sight yet, and his vision was better than most humans, so more than likely he got lucky and had approached them from the opposite side where they were meeting.

Of course, that made sense, if they had powers, why would they meet were anyone from the high way could see.

Hound looked around, he could probably make a run for it, they probably don't even know of his existence yet... than again, this was interesting, he could learn more about these powers, more about his powers... Hound had to investigate. He slowly raised back to his feet and began the hunt.

Moving silently, erasing his presence he made a swift dash for the barn, and then waited, and listened...

Huntress looked at the new boy sourly. He had dared to refer to Elena in such a manner. It was distasteful. She couldn't abide by such disrespect. She raised her head saying in a voice soft and subdued. "Little boy. I recommend you learn the proper way to speak to your superiors. I don't want to have to spil your pretty blood all over the floor." Huntress cooed darkly. Opening the pouch on her thigh and placing the crossbolt she was examining inside it. Then looking at the boy with eyes full of blood lust and murder. She had great respect for Elena and no boy was to speak to her as such. Not without her blade protruding from their chest that is. As she mulled over these thoughts the wind brought a scent. It smelt like a man.

Elena took it all with silent bemusement. The boy had called her sexi. She knew that. Wasn't too happy about it, but whats done is done. The Huntress made sure no such comment was made again. "Why couldn't he be gay." Elena murmered slightly louder than she wanted. Rubbing her temples. The boy was young so she gave him that much. Still he needed to learn more self restraint with his words. It could get him killed if he said stupid things like that openly. Why couldn't she have her son here trying to join instead of this little water boy. Oh well. it was her "brillant" choice. had to deal with it. "I'll give you the short version. Your here to join our group." She motioned at Victor and herself. "Though its heiarchy you'll learn soon enough if you prove yourself. Also i suggest you listen to Huntress and try to control your tounge. Say the wrong thing and i'm afraid you might loose it." She was speaking frankly. This boy had promise. No need to get him killed over stupid teenage fantasies and such. After all she could even get some info about Sean out of him. Which was sweet music to her mind.

Malice didn't like the boy one bit. He was foolish and stupid. made Malice feel intelligent for a second. After saying something so suicidal. Though he himself was somewhat suprised by the mysterious mans appearence. Who was he? Apparently Elena knew. So he had to be an ally. Which stopped him from running the guy through with shadow spikes. He also fought the urge to kill the boy. Since he was told not to kill the future members. It was a no no. So he wouldn't. After all if Elena wanted to she could recreate the spell that bound him. He loved his freedom. not the place he was locked in so long. Malice stayed quiet. As the shadow snakes hissed at Frost. An open sign of his hostility. He felt possesive of her. No little boy would go around talking about her like that. Even though Elena controlled him. He felt like he was the one who controlled her. Still that was just the lingering need to control. Control and slughter.

Just as he finished speaking, a crow suddenly flew out of who-knows-where, landed on a rock, and screeched. The piercing screech of the crow was almost deafening, but he didn't move so much as flinch. He wasn't here to show any kind of weakness. Almost instantly a voice from behind Elena spoke. The man seemed to recognize Master Mind's presence, and welcomed him. Interesting, at least one of them had enough class to say hello. And he could instantly tell that the man was another recruiter of S.C.A.R. It seemed that all the recruiters were here... but where were the rest of the recruits? Sighing to himself, his ears picked up another sound. "Hey Sexy" is the two words he heard first. They came out of Frost's mouth... Frost? Wasn't he a hero? What was a hero doing here at a recruitment for S.C.A.R. ?

Interesting...

As Elena spoke up to respond to Frost's idiotic greeting, he wondered why she hadn't revealed the trials for the recruitment yet. They were all here, weren't they? Maybe not. Oh well, Master Mind thought, guess he'd just have to wait...

As they say... Beware the fury of a patient man...

Shepard had come all the way to some abandoned meadow after a long sleep and a few meals in his stomach. He travled far on foot and in a semi truck. After he got off the semi truck somthing happened that made it blow up. Shepard kept walking and finally he could see and abondond building that was falling apart and a group of people talking.

"CRAP am i too late" ..... " I hope there is no deadline when to arrive"; he picked up the pace and started running> A few days ago Nolen explaind a battle that went on in some streets aginst heros and villians and matching the description was two people. FROST and ELENA.

He knew Elena was a villian but he thought Frost was a hero because he was attacking villians in the fight Nolen talked about. He was not that bright to figure things out like this but he kept an eye on him. In a playful happy mood he said hi hoping they would not get him about being late.

Frost looked at the people that he didn’t know, which almost all of them were strangers aside from Elena was, although he didn’t know anything about her but her name and that she wasn’t the nicest of people. Then again, this was S.C.A.R. he was dealing with, he didn’t know much about them but he had heard of an evil group of villains, dangerous villains on top of that. If they ganged up on him he would be in deep trouble, he knew at least a few of them were very experienced and could potentially take him a part so he’d simply have to make sure that didn’t happen.

Elena didn’t respond right away but the woman next to her did and the threat was clear, which didn’t do anything to calm Frost of his nerves. The guy on her other side was equally as intimidating but fortunately he didn’t look like the sharpest person around, he could be fooled if need be. The shadows circling him didn’t look as easily fooled however and the one hissing at him sent the clear message that he too was offended, he wouldn’t listen to Frost anymore so attempting to fool him was out of the question.

When Elena did respond it wasn’t exactly in the way he had expected or hoped, she was cool and collected, much like someone how was diligent and refined. She was good at concealing emotions, or at least it seemed that way to Frost. She was probably hiding a lot of pain that she’d never told anyone about and probably never would. Elena was deep, Frost liked that.

Frost had to hide his nervousness the only way he knew how, to be even more cocky than he already was and act a little more like a villain to not stick out too bad. Bringing water from the air around him and collecting it on the ground and behind him, he then froze it and sat upon it. “If you would please let me know when the others get here,” and with that said he closed his eyes but did not go to sleep. He instead listened for any sign of trouble.

(OOC: For the sake of order... here is my proposed order. Since Devistation decided to join us, and Frost decided to post, before Victor posted. That kind of rules out the previous order I thought we'd have. How about this...

Elena -> Master Mind -> Devistation -> Frost -> Victor -> Hound

Or we could switch Victor and Hound.

Elena -> Master Mind -> Devistation -> Frost -> Hound -> Victor

Would that work?)

Was this going as planned? Acording to Canni, it sure was!

Canni had, after a brief and anti-climatic fight with the law after attempting to play with science (The new drug), been captured, and was currently being transported in a lone police car across the highway. There was two police officers with him, counting in the driver, and he was handcuffed, as if it was going to prevent him from breaking loose at any time.. Theese guys should really take more effort into securing their targets once captured.

Anyway, it occured to Canni that his plan to develop a new super addiction drug had failed, even tough a sample of it that had nearly been completed was stored safely inside his stomach. He had been told, several days earlier, that his ambitions was far too great for himself to achieve on his own without any help at all, and he had laughed the guy in the face! Was he ready to admit his mistake? Not at all. Was he going to fix it? Hell yes! There had been word flowing trough the criminal underworld, that the criminal organization known as S.C.A.R was recruiting, and Canni was, even tough he usually wasn't, very interested! He could gain so much from joining it, in both economical, mystical and pure power! And he sure did like power.

He had been informed of the area this recruiting would take place, and luckily, he wasn't that far away from it! In fact, if he were to murder theese poor police officers right here and now, drive their car off the road, and walk for about 12 minutes, he'd be right there! Even tough he wasn't someone to believe in fate, stuff like this caused him to doubt from time to time.

----------- Present time ------------------

There was a terrible storm coming, and it wasn't even a metaphor! Canni looked at the clouds, they were dark and glooming, threatening his very excistence with their presence. They showered him in rain, which was probably a good thing now that he was quite literally sprayed in blood. He had to look presentable. In the distance, he could see an abandoned farm, which was apparantly the place of recruitment, where only the worthy could proceed. He was indeed worthy. He had taking the liberty of brining his own snack, a human arm in his hand, he wouldn't want to do this on an empty stumach, that would have been really lame. He had strapped a holster with a hangun underneath his brown fur coat, taken from the kind owner of the arm offcourse, loaded with a single 7 round mag, just in case the need for such a weapon appeared.

A group of people was standing a small distance in front of him, he was obviously late. "Greetings! I seem to be late.. Hope you don't mind" he said, taking a bite of the arm.

((OOC: I realize I'm posting again, and not even as Master Mind (this is Master Mind), but here's the Gado-Added-In order.

It wasn’t long after Victor’s greeting, that another one of the recruits showed up. Only this ones entrance was a lot different, and a little stupid. Victor knew this guy from his previous in-counter with Elena, and he also knew that he was actually a hero. Even if he wasn’t going to hold that against him, Victor was still going to keep an eye on him. As Elena, Huntress and Malice started speaking, Victor pushed off the wall with his foot and started walking over to the mammoth remains. He simply walked up the dead bits of fur and bones, and stood next to Huntress, as he looked down at Frost. ”I’m not going to lecture you, or give you a speech Frost, but you should really watch what you say. Remember your surroundings. You’re not you’re your superhero buddies anymore, you’re on our turf.” As he spoke, his fingers twitched and his puppet leaped over from the barn and directly beside him. As he finished speaking, he saw a man walking towards them, from off in the distance. It didn’t take more then a glance at the man, and what he was holding to know who he was. Canni. It was a surprise to Victor to see him here. After hearing that he was captured for trying to release a new drug, Vincent didn’t think he would be able to attend this recruitment session. Victor was pretty curious how he broke free so quickly, but it wasn’t like him to bombard someone with a thousand questions. He’d probably find out some other way, anyway.

Canni was living up to the reputation Victor had for him. Canni walked up to the group with blood spattered all over his clothing, and an arm in his hand. Victor just smirked, and ignored the fact, it’s not like he didn’t expect it from Canni. ” Not at all Canni, you’re here now so I could care less where you’ve been. You’re not the latest one anyway.”Vincent then looked about the three recruits in front of him. One hero, one cannibal, and if Victor’s memory served him correctly, one lightning manipulator. It wasn’t a bad turn out, and most of them actually looked like they could be of use to S.C.A.R. and their goals. ”…Since our last initiate is running late, I think it’s fair that he is stuck choosing last. So I’m going to give you the run-down of what were doing here. As you all know, you’re here to join S.C.A.R. but what you may not know is that you are going to have to pass our test before you can actually become members. Our test is fairly simple. All you’ll have to do is fight. You will choose your opponent, out of the four of us then show what skills you’ve got. This test is more then just a random brawl though. You will be showing how well you can handle yourself on your own, how well you can use prior knowledge to pick a good opponent for yourself, and just how useful you will be us. Now, Master Mind. Since you were the first to show, you get to pick first. Then Frost, then Canni, and then whichever one of us haven’t fought yet will take on our late recruit… Elena, unless you have anything else to add, or anyone else has any questions, I think we should begin.”

(It should be VICTOR then HOUND) No scence in having Elena and Victor right up to gether and have all the people trying to join together we need to seperate it some
