Re: A little recruitment
Hound stood in silence, completely frozen in place as he listened. Despite the hostile intent overflowing from a few of the men and women standing on the other side of the barn, Hound still had hope that they were not gathering for some giant blood orgy to summon a devil from the seventh plane of existence to turn all of man kind into giant sea slugs and rule over them for the next 1000 years.
Then the final member of the party arrived, completely covered in blood, the smell of death that excreted from him was almost over powering. One of the men began to speak, he was casual, relaxed, almost impressed by the new comer and his terrifying presence. This confirmed it, blood orgy. Of course, ten seconds later the man explained they were there for a recruitment of some sort, most likely for an evil society that has plans for ruling the world, how cliche, which made Hound a little sheepish about jumping to the orgy thing.
Hound looked around and found a window into the bar left ajar. Hoping the distance between him and the others, combined with the high winds from the coming storm would allow him to move with out detection. Sliding the old window into the barn open he slipped in silently and examined the contents. Clearly, the building had been abandoned in a hurry, it was still packed with old, rusting farming equipment. Many of which could probably make effective hunting tools against normal human, but if these people were truly supers, then Hound doubt the effectiveness of a rusty sickle. Still it couldn't hurt to try. He plucked the two least damaged sickles from the wall of the barn and moved to a window facing the group, being careful not to make any sudden movements and stay hidden in the shadows he peaked in on the group, curious to find out what was about to go down.

Re: A little recruitment
Elena shrugged. She didn't have anything wrong with what Victor said. It seemed like the plan she had before so why not. Though the man with the arm was a bit of a curious site. What was he? Elena would have to do some more studies on him once this was done. Maybe she could even find someone with similar eating powers. If that was his power. She had just met him. No need to make such quick assesments. Elena got up from her standing position. Looking over the new recruits. "I have no objections with this little plan." Which was true. She didn't. It all seemed like it would be fun to her. A good test of her powers. Only thing that would stop her is death.
Malice personally liked the idea of a fight. Though he coulodn't kill. Which put a damper on his happiness. So he kept his glare upon the boy. Waiting for him to make a move out of line. So he could skewer him. After akk he was a hero trying to join a villan organization. Malice was stupid, but he could put 2+2 together. He may have wanted some other eason for this. Elena voiced that thought. So him and Huntress agreed to keep a close watch on the boy. Incase he got out of line.

Re: A little recruitment
He was almost too lucky. Not only was the trial a fight, but he got to pick first. Clenching his fists in excitement, Master Mind grinned and chuckled to himself. Which should I pick?~ He looked at Elena, The Huntress, and Malice. They all seemed like worthy opponents... but they weren't the best match. Elena didn't seem like all that much fun, Malice would probably try to beat his head in.... and the Huntress... he could tell just by looking at her that it wouldn't be a good show of his skills. Which left the last recruiter... Victor Vincent. He had heard much about Victor. About his genius intelligence and incredible fighting skills, the way he... carved pictures into his opponents with his katana, and how he rarely had to move to kill the best of opponents. Courtesy of his puppet, of course. It was decided. Lifting his finger up slowly, he pointed directly at Victor. I choose you, Victor. Let's try and make it last, shall we? Immediately spinning around on the balls of his feet, Master Mind walked away from the group at a comfortable space. He wanted to get away from the others so that they could fight with ease. He would need plenty of room if he had to show his skills.
Discreetly reaching his hand down to a MEU, he lifted it up with the cover of his cloak. First, he was going to test Victor. If a member of S.C.A.R. wasn't able to force him to use his powers, then there was no reason to join such a shameful organization. Far from the barn and the others, he looked back to see if Victor was there. Assuming he was, Master Mind quickly and sharply lifted the gun up and out of the cloak, and pointed it straight at him. Firing a couple rounds from the MEU at Victor, they were sure to hit. His expert sharp-shooting would surely make a few good dents in Victor's body... that is, if he didn't dodge it. But this test wasn't to kill the recruiter, no. This test was to see if Victor was truly a good match for the fight. If he couldn't dodge a few bullets, then he wasn't all that much of a super-human, was he? On the other hand, if he did manage to dodge the bullets, Master Mind would immediately lay down his weapon and fight with full-power. That's what the trial was for, right? And it'd be even better if he'd find a way to retaliate at the same time. It wouldn't fool him, though. He was always on the move. In fact, right after he had shot the bullets at Victor, he immediately backed up and ran around Victor, only 15 feet away. Like a tiger circling his prey... ready to pounce at any moment.
Let us fight, Victor. We shall fight in the name of our beliefs, and shed blood in the name of our honor. And no matter how much blood is spilled, we won't falter. Blood isn't our weakness, blood is only red sweat.

Re: A little recruitment
Frost saw and heard that the guy called Master Mind chose the guy called Victor, which was fine since he wasn’t frost’s first choice anyway. Vincent looked a little too deadly for his taste, but then again so did everyone he could chose, but Vincent looked a little bit more threatening to him than the others for some reason. Frost couldn’t tell what that reason could be though, it might have been the katana, the ominous crow, or the puppet, it was hard to tell.
Malice looked like he was really strong, fast, tough, and the shadow snake things did not inspire confidence either. He obviously was not the person that Frost wanted to pick a fight with. If he did it would have to be a long range fight if he wanted to have any chance of winning and he still didn’t know how those tendrils worked so it would be better if he just avoided that fight all together. The girl standing next to Elena looked like she meant business too, from the way she moved it was obvious she knew how to fight and the way she handled that crossbow told him a long ranged fight was out of the question as well. It did not look good for Frost at this moment either.
That left one person to choose from and that was Elena herself. She seemed like the best choice to Frost since he had seen her use some moves from their previous encounter, she was good but he felt like she might be the only one he’d have a chance against. He still didn’t like his odds around here but that wouldn’t stop him from accepting a challenge. He point to his choice in combatants, “I choose you Elena.”
This day just like every other on was getting worse and worse.

Re: A little recruitment
Shepard forgets the group for not saying nothing and runs and uses his sword to throw him on the roof of the barn. This was going to go all sort of ways. It was an epic battle except no one had the intention to kill. Except he did not know about Frost but everyone else was showing off there abilities to get into SCAR and that was it if they died then they were weak. The people from the team he constructed called The Elementalist. They would all wait for the entire battle to get done so they could have fun.
There was comosion upsteard in the barn when he could hear things fall off the barn wall. Now why would that be, he wonder if it was a cat or a mouse but no, not it was much bigger he seen a shadow of a big grown man move in the barns as he looked down through in the crack. He stood up then took the sword off his back. Shepard jumped down to the door with his team and asked whos there... while waiting fow a respond he looked around to see if there was anyone and had the rest of the team go around and search.

Re: A little recruitment
Two of the other's had chosen their opponents! The hooded guy went with that sword-wielding fellow, while the out-of-place-scared-to-the-brink-of-death-guy picked the redheaded lady. That was quite perfect the way Canni saw it, not wanting to go into a swordfight with his hands, or figure out whatever that redhead had hidden underneath that gorgeus body of hers in the middle of a frickin fight to the death.
He still had a few options left. The huntress, who seemed to be a distance fighter, and Malice, who was obviously the source of all sorts of trouble! A close combat fighter perhaps? Well it would be a better match-up than the huntress anyway, seeing as how he wasn't ready to challenge a highly skilled shooter to a shootout.
He pointed towards Malice, "You and me, over there, fucking this place up, sounds good?", he had no knowledge of Malice, and so, he assumed he'd be some sort of badass with an attitude, and even if he wasn't, it wouldn't hurt to be blunt. He turned and walked a distance away from the others. He expected to get knocked all over the place, so it would be convenient to remove all obstacles. He assumed Malice would follow.
Finding a good spot, good as in less slippery spots on the ground, Canni mentally prepared himself for the fight, he didn't know what to expect, but he assumed it would be hard! Just the way he liked it. He turned towards Malice and readied himself, "You go first."

Re: A little recruitment
It seemed like none of the recruits had questions, and Elena had nothing to add, so now it was time to see who Master Mind would choose to be his opponent. Victor crossed his arms across his chest as he waited, while Master Mind examined the four S.C.A.R. recruiters standing on top of the mammoth remains. Victor watched his eyes, as they passed over Elena, Malice, and Huntress then stopped on him. So it was decided. Master Mind verses Victor. ”So be it.” Victor placed on hand on the handle of his katana then jumped forward, off of the mammoth and landed in the wet grass. Victor kept the hand that was controlling his puppet completely still. Only the tips of his fingers moved so slightly to order the puppet to follow behind him. He did his best not to show how he was controlling the puppet, with a name like ‘Master Mind’ Victor knew if he made it too obvious he would catch on and try to dismantle it.
Victor followed Master Mind out of the way of the group. They weren’t to far from the others, but they had plenty of room to move around in this big open plain. Rain fell hard from the sky as the two eyed each other warily. Victor ever so slightly kept moving his fingers, and brought his puppet in front of him, but a little off to the left so he could still see Master Mind. ”Make your move.” Not long after that, Master Mind pulled out a MEU, a standard Marine pistol as fired three rounds at Victor. Without flinching or even moving, Vincent held his ground as the bullets hurled towards him. With the tweak of his finger, his puppet moved over to the right, so it was completely covering Victor from the bullets. The bullets hit the puppet in the center of it’s chest, but the sheer density of the puppets body blocked the bullets from passing through. After the bullets were blocked, Victor saw Master Mind start trying to circle him. Still, Victor held his ground. He started to move his fingers again, to a normal person it looked like nothing more then a twitch, but he was actually setting up a attack with his puppet.
The puppet then turned to face Master Mind as he tried to circle around Victor, then blasted off at full speed. Victor twitched his index finger again, and his puppet moved it’s arms out in front of it, then shot a needle out of the palm of each of it’s hands. To follow up both of the needles, Victor made the puppet keep moving forward, and by curving his ring finger he made to puppet ball up a fist in its left hand and swing upwards into Master Mind’s gut. Victor expected a dodge from this guy, which is why he didn’t stop his puppet after shooting its needles. This was a test, and Victor was going to start by testing Master Minds survival capabilities.

Re: A little recruitment
The supers were now dividing up, their "recruitment" was starting, and apparently the challenge was for the new players to face the already existing members. Hound could tell that the majority of these guys were bad, real bad, and if they spent the next hour beating the snot out of each other, all the better.
However there was a good chance most these fights would only last a few minutes, so Hound had to move fast. He attached the sickles in his hands to his belt then reached into his side bag, pulling out his hunting knife. It had become common practise for him to leave the knife tucked safely away in hiding so that cops didn't stop him and try and take the blade. After all, nothing said child molester like a homeless man carrying a 20 centimetre blade on his hip moving from town to town, never staying in the same place for long.
Now with the most basic of preparations completed he began a full survey of the barn. Clearly abandoned in a haste, the barn was full of equipment and various crap collected over the years. To his left was a large, still in fairly decent shape tractor. To the left of the tractor a work bench with dozens, maybe even hundreds of tools for fixing said tractor. This seemed like an excellent place to start. Rifling through the drawers, he found below the bench was five, completely unopened canisters of bright red barn pain. And beside that, a dozen cans of highly flammable aerosol cans of insecticide, he immediately pulled it all out and set it a side..
In another draw he found a bunch of rags, which he grabbed, and shoved into an empty bucket. Moving on, he found above the work bench several empty liquor bottles. It appeared that the owner was a collector of oddly shaped and colour liquor and beer bottles, weird hobby. This from the guy who went and ran with the squirrels of the majestic Rocky Mountains.
Pulling them all down onto the bench, he then moved to check out the tractor itself. To his delight, two full 40 gallon gas tanks were hooked onto the back. He lifted them both off and set them on the bench, before checking the gas tank itself. Could this day get better? The tank was full. He grabbed the garden hose in the corner, and cut off a piece about a meter long, which he proceeded to use to siphon the gas into the bucket with the rags, soaking the rags. Finding a funnel he began to fill the liquor bottles with gas from the two canisters, then stuffing the gas soaked rags into the tops of the bottles. In the end he had 16 gas bottle bombs.
He moved to the red paint cans and rigged the lids so a large impact would cause them to burst open, spray paint every where. With that completed, hound moved on and found a long length of rope, which he shoved into his bag.
Almost. He was nearly ready, but he felt like something was missing... Hopefully he figured it out by the time all was said and done. Then... he saw it. A full bottle of scotch, covered in dust and cobwebs, sitting atop an old mini fridge. He walked over and checked the mini fridge, full of beer. American beer. Hound might as well have just drank his own piss rather than that junk, But the scotch?
He dusted it off and popped the top and took a swing. Oh there's the liquid courage he needed. NOW he was ready to take on seven super powered super villains all by himself. And to think he doubted his own sanity. Wait till that pink Moose hears this story, he'll never believe me.
Yup. This was going to end well.

Re: A little recruitment
Excellent, not only did Victor block his attack, but he immediately retaliated afterwards. This was going to be an incredible fight. Continuing his circle around Victor, the harsh rain was giving him even more energy. The sheer intensity of the rain poured down on them as if he and Victor were each a fire. Fires that sparked up and lit ablaze with hot, piercing strength that even the heaviest of rain couldn't put out. Now moving at an incredible pace, Master Mind broke out into a sprint as the needles flew behind him. Luckily they were aimed behind him. The only strange thing was that the puppet moved forward with full speed at Master Mind. He had expected for it to continue firing the needles to force Master Mind into a state of panic. After all, he wasn't the fastest super villain around. No matter, his movements hadn't stopped yet, and they weren't going to stop now. Still holding the gun in his hand, he formed an electrically charged orb with the gun inside. The orb was like a "shock grenade", and once exploded, it would discharge the bullets in the gun. That'd probably make a big-bang! Throwing the orb/gun at the puppet currently rushing toward his position, it would blow up precisely the moment it would connect with the puppet. Let's see if Victor could handle that.
But he wasn't done, not even close. He wasn't the strongest man alive, but he had a few tricks up his sleeve. Still running around Victor and nearing a position that was out of his view, Master Mind started forming an electro-kinetic bolt in each of his hands. He would use one now and one later. He needed a distraction, and he needed time to charge the other bolt. Shooting one of the bolts at Victor, he was going to force the recruiter to move around a bit as well. It was no fun if he was only fighting the needle-puppet. At the same time, he focused on charging the other bolt for Victor's next retaliation. As he had learned over the many years spent on fighting, if you wanted to have the upper-hand, you always have to be ready. Master Mind was more than ready, and he had some ready to spare. He could almost taste success. All of his senses were being put to the use of the battle. He could hear the puppets movements, see the look on their faces, and almost taste the surprise Victor and the puppet would encounter once the attacks would hit. But he doubted that Victor would be finished so easily. He doubted that any villain, in fact any hero couldn't be stopped on the dime like so. No, there was more in store for the both of them. Master Mind was almost on the verge of insanity, and the excitement was almost traumatizing. He loved beautiful days like these. He then grinned to himself as he spoke a warrior's words.
Let the games begin!

Re: A little recruitment
Shephard looked a through the doors of the abandoned barn. There was alot of stuff here for this place to be abandoned but even though every piece of metal had rust and was dull as a wooden sword. There was a window on one end and he could still see the people fight through it but barley because he was too far away. He took a few steps in and looked around and then found him self shocked when he was at the tractor. There was a freshly cut hose connected to the gas can. Some one had cycled the fule out of it resently.
Quickly drawing his sword standing in the middle of the barn he called out to any one in the barn to come out of hiding. He did not want to waste energy on this person. He sent his entire team to look including himself. He went threw every thing box of rusted nails, roten bails of hay, and old tools that could be used as a blunt weapon to hit people with. But trying to make effort he continude to look and tell them to come out of hiding.

Re: A little recruitment
As the young man with a sword, too insanely large for practical combat, burst into the barn with some gang, Hound drew his Bic lighter and lit. A grin spread across his face as he lit four of the Molotov cocktails.
The tracker couldn't help but think, 'Bad move on your part, buddy.' entering a Wolf's dean was never smart. Immediately he chucked one Molotov cocktail at their feet, a second one at the Sword boy's head, and a third one just in their general direction. He didn't care about hitting them, they were just the distraction.
See Hound had a fairly impressive plan that appeared rather simple, which made it all the more impressive
They clearly saw he had four lit, so they would be expecting a fourth tossed at them any moment now. Instead he only threw three, this was key. In additionally to this the weather and the shadowed barn assisted with the second part of his plan.
As the third bottle left his hand, he had already began drawing his blow dart pipe and raised it to his lips. Previously it was unseen, and now all their attention was on the fire. See no matter how you train, it's embedded deep into genetic code through hundreds of thousands of years of evolution to fear fire. So with the exception of a few very rare exceptions, their attention would HAVE to go to the fire.
Previously they had been outside in a dark and clouded field, with black thunder clouds above, blocking out most light. Which meant their eyes were already adjusted to low light , now after entering the barn, where even less light was, their eyes would have began to adjust for even lower light. But with the sudden, sharp, bright flare of fire in front of them, their low light vision would be completely ruined for at least a few seconds, if not a full minute or two.
With their temporarily damaged low light vision, they would have little to no chance to dodge the unexpected blow dart, since they were expecting a forth explosive. If the dart hit, it would probably only make the sword boy a little drowsy, not knock him out, since he was also a super, but anything would be enough. Without missing a beat, or even waiting to see if the dart hit, he chucked the final lit bomb at the rest of the bombs he had poured and prepared in a group along with the aerosol cans of flammable and explosive gases, and the piss poor American beer.
As the bottle left his hands, he turned on the spot and leapt though the window, glass shattering, and tearing his flesh, at the same time as the entire barn went up in flames.
Hound landed with a roll outside of the barn, his coat on fire, his face and arms tore up and bleeding heavily. He smelt like burned hair, but he had no time to dilly dally. Taking off at full speed as he removed his flaming jacket, he made a mad dash for the highway, with any luck, he took out a few. Still over all he was disappointed. He had planned to wait for the others to fight it out, tire themselves, and then take them all with his prepared weapons, especially after learning their skills and powers. But now he would have to put that all behind him
He didn't bother to turn his head to see, but he could tell the fire was now spreading rapidly to the nearby fields... The other would definitely know about him now...

Re: A little recruitment
Victor watched as his needles flew right past Master Mind as he sprinted in a large circle. He probably should have thought about that. If he had shot the needles ahead of his opponent maybe they would have hit, but it wasn’t a big deal. If Master Mind was hit so easily it wouldn’t of looked good for him anyway. Just in the short time they’ve been fighting Victor already determined that speed wasn’t Master Mind’s strong suit. He was pretty fast, but Victor’s been dealing with people on superhuman levels since he has sixteen, so it wasn’t something that was going to startle him. After his needles missed, Victor was curious to see how Master Mind would counter his puppet charging start towards him. Even though his puppet wasn’t the strongest being around, all of its physical attributes were equal to a super human’s, so it was going to be exciting to see how Master Mind would deal with such a thing charging at him. Victor turned to keep up with his enemies movements, and then it happened. Master Mind showed a glimpse of his power as he fired another round out of the clip in his gun, only this one was electrically powered up. Instead of just shrugging off the bullet like his puppet did the first time, it was blasted backwards. All of it’s speed was completely stopped and it was thrown back towards Victor. Simply putting his hand in the air, he caught the puppet by the center of it’s back and lowered his hand so the puppet was touching the floor again. Looking at his puppets chest, Victor saw a cloud of smoke coming off and a fairly large piece of metal was missing from where the bullet made impact. It was quite a lot of damage, Victor was lucky he didn't take the attack him self of or he'd be in quite a bit of pain right now. But a puppet can't feel anything, so it was okay, Vincent would just have to be careful not to take any hits head on. ”Very good.” Victor uttered amused with his solution. Turing again to keep up with Master Mind, and now from this angle he could observe the other fights. Since Victor’s mind could calculate much faster then Master Mind’s feet could move, in the delay between attacks Vincent scanned over the other fights. Even though they didn’t effect his battle at all, he would like to be able to a give a opinion on each of the contestants.
Everything seemed to be going well. None of the recruits were instantly K.Oed which was a good thing, and it looked like they were even putting up a good fight. For now at least. As time goes on we shall see how much damage these recruits can take before their will breaks. Then something caught his eye. Through the gray clouds pouring rain, a group of men stood in the center of the old barn. It didn’t bother Victor at first, it was probably just their late recruit raveling through the old barn for whatever crazy and irrelevant reason, but then a quick flash of light came followed by tons of flames. Victor quickly got his thoughts back together when he realized how much time he was taking observing everything, and glared at Master Mind as he kept on the move. He probably should have cared more about what was going on in the barn, but he was in a fight right now and plus, he just really didn’t care. Victor was a villain and had no problem killing people, but he never cared to go out of his way to kill people or put people in danger. He knew that some people just didn’t need to die. That day at least.
It was then that Victor actually paid attention to what Master Mind had cooking up in the center of each of his hands. Even though Victor didn’t know exactly what they were, he had a pretty good idea from his prior knowledge of Master Mind, and the fact that his hands were sending off sparks of electricity. Then, the sparks turned into complete bolts of kinetic electricity, and Victor knew he’d have to be careful about getting near those. Still, Vincent wasn’t worried though. He still had a few tricks within his puppet, and a few on himself as well. Victor still held his puppet in his right hand, as Master Mind fired off the first bolt of electricity. His moves were limited in this situation but he knew a good way to dodge and put Master Mind in a bad spot. Victor quickly threw his puppet to the right, then he bolted off in the left, letting the blast of electricity soar between them both. His plan was simple. Trap Master Mind in between his-self and his puppet giving him little room to struggle or dodge. Victor kept on the move this time, he was done holding his ground and observing. He got the information that he needed to know how to fight Master Mind, so now it was time to act. He started running, and made his puppet run a exact mirror copy of his movements. Victor moved as if he and his puppet were creating a large D figure around Master Mind. Victor also took into consideration that Master Mind was moving as well, which is why he choose to move to the left. His puppet was faster then he was, so it could more easily catch up to Master Mind when he moved.
Victor would still have to watch were he placed his puppet though, because if Master Mind got directly in between the two he could figure out the puppets movement mechanisms. So he had to make his cut a little early then he would have liked but it wasn’t going to stop him attacking. Once the two were at each opposite sides of Master Mind, Victor made his puppet shoot one more needle out of his left arm towards is foe. Then they both continued charging forward. Keeping his head low, just in case Master Mind dodged, Victor didn’t want to be impaled by his own device but he wanted to make a follow up attack to add another challenge in this battle. Victor placed the hand he wasn't moving his puppet with on the handle of his katana, sliding it out just a bit so he could be ready to attack Master Mind in the coming seconds. Victor was ready. Him and his puppet were closing in on Master Mind, and he had his katana, and his puppet had it's sher superhuman strength.
'Lets see how he deals with this.'

Re: A little recruitment
Hound finally stopped running, he fought to catch his breath, he was in good shape, but he was no speedster, and he didn't have super human endurance. All the years hunting for his meals gave him good speed for a human, but he was only human in that regard. Hound turned to see if anyone was chasing him. Nope, he was in the clear. He gazed into the distance, to a normal person the barn was hardly in view, but to the tracker, Hound, he could still see it as clear as if he was only a few feet away from it. One of his few mutant perks was his amazing vision.
He could still see it burning away out of control. No one was following him, or in fact even looking at him. They were all still fighting each other with out a care in the world. It was excellent news he wasn't being chased by seven super villains. After all, any day you don't get stabbed, tortured, killed, or have your soul broken into pieces and turned into a soul sword, is a good day in Hound's life. Despite it all, he was still disappointed.
He had gone to great lengths to prepare for battle, hatched a cunning plan and was poised to pounce on his prey when he was forced to abandon all his plans. It was all thanks to an annoying little brat with a sword too long for practical use. The kid was clearly over compensating for a small... no, no, too obvious a joke. Hound would take the high road. His hair looked stupid. Stupid face. No, not just stupid, a jerk face. Yes he had the face of a jerk.
In all seriousness, Hound had failed completely, no information on any of the villains, other than a few names, he didn't capture any of them. In fact, it was almost as if he never actually showed up, which was lame, because he did. Hound looked around, maybe there was a kiosk that sold shirts nearby that said "I went to a super hero free for all brawl and all I got was this crappy T-shirt."
His only consolation prize was that he blew up an entire barn in the face of the guy who ruined it. If Hound was truly lucky, the boy was dead. If he was unlucky, the boy was now missing his eyebrows, which would make him look even sillier. That was at least something, and Hound would happily accept it.
The tracker turned his back to the fire and began a leisure walk to the highway, he was getting hungry and wanted to get to a town as soon as possible. Pancakes. Hound wanted pancakes, big, fluffy, blue berry pancakes with butter, and syrup.
