Personality: Maximilien's intentions are good, but they are far from pure. Hatred and bitterness dominate his personality, and he is obsessed with his idea of justice. He bears his past and his loneliness like a cross, and can be hard to approach. Though he never talks about personal things, you may be able to strike up a conversation about food or literature of him. He is often a generous patron of the arts. He views the entire human with disdain, so he often comes off as egotistical. He despises the modern vampire as well, and says they are little more than pathetic mutations of man. He believes it his role to dispense justice in this world. He plays the role of both the judge, and the executioner. He needs no secret identity, because he does not leave witnesses. He adheres to strict personal moral code. Though he kills, he does not do so indiscriminately. He will only kill someone he deems is deserving of death. He prefers not to hurt women, though he will pass out judgment if he must. If he does kill a woman, he ensures it is painless. He would never hurt a child, and especially hates injustices against children. He shows no mercy against those who commit crimes against children, or would poison or steal their innocence.

History: Maximilien is a "true" vampire, a direct descendant of Dracula. To his knowledge, the last one that exists on earth. Born in the late eighteenth century to the son of a duke, he was the younger of two brothers. His father was a cruel governor to his people, and stole many lives as tribute to quench his blood thirst. He was killed by a famous vampire slayer when Maximilien was very young. The children spared, his older brother Anatole became duke took care of Maximilien. Unlike their father, Anatole believed in peace and coexistence with humans. He was so loved by the populace, that he was able to convince them he and his brother were not vampires, but children adopted by one. He ushered a new age of prosperity in the town during his reign as duke. Maximilien eventually fell in love with a woman who lived in the town. When he revealed his nature as a vampire, she accepted him nevertheless. She came to live with him and they were set to be wed. Unfortunately, Anatole's nature was also revealed, and to someone less understanding. When word spread through the town, they went after him. He was in the market with Maximilien's fiance, Alyssa, when the mob confronted him. Despite having power far beyond the imaginations of the villagers, he agreed not resist in exchange for Alyssa's safety. He was flayed, dismembered, and burnt. Unfortunately, the promise of Alyssa's safety was not kept either. She was branded demonspawn for her association, and mutilated and burnt to death.

When Maximilien learned of their fate, his mind and heart were broken. In an instant, he lost his family and his love in a horrible way. In his eyes the villagers were all evil, and he unleashed their rage upon them. Though not as powerful as his brother, he was much more powerful than any normal man. He burned down the entire village, and slaughtered most of the inhabitants. While the town was burning, he buried what was left of his brother and fiance. a new town was eventually founded there, and the castle now lies in ruin and is surrounded by much superstition.

Over the next 200 and some odd years, Maximilien became obsessed with justice. At first he killed out of revenge, murdering most of the world's vampire slayers. At one point in history, he was known as the human slayer, and was the most feared enemy of vampire slayers. Eventually he began to add more purpose to his activities. He decided it was his purpose to become the face of judgment. He has done this for years, living in many place and assuming many identities. His riches have only grown, and he easily finds his way into the high class circles around the world. While vampires exist today, they are not the same species Maximilien is. While many think the spawn of Dracula are less human than other vampires, the opposite of true. Dracula was originally human after all, it was his soul that was warped. Because of this he is something of an outcast from the vampire population as well as the human one. They treat him like a powerful crimelord. They do not speak to him unless they have to, and they know to stay out of his territory. More and more, the populations of superhumans have been growing and more and more Maximilien finds it necessary to dispense judgment to them. He is responsible for the deaths of many villains and renegades, as well as a few heroes. Because of this, he just might find it necessary to become involved in the so called "superhero" community

Weapons: Maximilien is a master of swordplay, especially when it comes to fencing. He owns many finely crafted weapons, especially rapiers and sabers. He also has many daggers and long-knifes, as well as throwing knives. He has one particular weapon worth mentioning.
Clarent: A saber Maximilien had made in the years after leaving his home. The sword is worth more than most men can even imagine. It is constructing using genius methods from around the world, with rare materials used to strengthen the blade. The saber's hilt is an odd black color, and some of Maximilien's own blood was used in the forging of the blade. This makes the bladed edge a blood crimson, and gives it the power to cut through nearly anything. The sword is much stronger than it's size would indicate, and virtually unbreakable. It was named for the sword used to kill King Arthur.

Powers: Maximilien must feed, but he does so in small enough amounts to not kill the ones he feeds off of. This means that he only gets a fraction of their power, rather than all of it. Because of this his growth has been relatively slow, and he does not have as many of the awesome powers his ancestors did. He does have one special ability.

Mist Cloak: Though he can't assume an incorporeal form or fly, he can use a special "mist cloak." This is a stealth ability that makes him blend almost completely into the dark. It also stops him from reflecting any light, even from his eyes, and negates the noise he would make. He's not invisible, but it's highly unlikely you'd notice him if you weren't looking for him. Useful for sneaking up someone, or following someone without their knowledge.

Weaknesses: Being a true vampire means he does not share all the same weaknesses as modern vampires, though many of those are only superstition anyway.
Sunlight: He can walk freely in sunlight, though it prevents him from using his powers. Though it doesn't have any adverse
effects aside from that, he dislikes it and avoids direct sunlight whenever possible.
Stake through the heart: Isn't fatal, but completely immobilizes him.
Running Water: Not a problem, and he bathes quite regularly.
Crosses: Crosses present no threat, and before the death of his fiance he was a devout christian.
Garlic: Not only does he not find it unpleasant, it's a favorite of his.
fire: He doesn't have an inherent weakness to it, but he's not too eager to light himself on fire either.
Decapitation: Fatal.

Character Image/Description: He has flawless white skin, and perfect blonde hair kept at medium length. His eyes are a light blue, and he is the perfect picture of youth and beauty. He is always well-groomed, and almost always well-dressed. Ge generally dresses in somewhat Victorian-esque clothes, with long coats and ruffled shirts. He does recognize the need to at time blend in however, and does own more current clothes. He always dresses well though, and owns some of the nicest suits in the world.
