Nightkill shrugged. "Silence is golden. You can pick up a lot that way. So, that four million dollar and funding of quests offer I made before, you still interested?" he asked.

"I've learned nothing useful from dropping him off. Apparently he killed people. We already knew that though."
He then looked to the alien creature.
"arrogant eh? You been here long enough to make that assumption?"
He looked back to Nightkill. What was his aim exactly? He remained silent when he saw him. He wanted to hear what he said next....he must have been following him. How else did he know where to find him.

Re: The big apple
Nightkill gave Adriano a grin, which could have meant many things. He picked up a random water bottle lying on the floor, and threw it into the garbage.
"Stupid humans, perfectly good garbage can lying right there." he grumbled. He turned to all three of them, and focused on Destrock.
"You're an alien, eh? Well, I've met several before, not too shocking." he said. He happily neglected to mention that he was one himself. He turned to look at them all now.
"Very impressive display of powers, I have to say. I saw that fight, and it was spectacular! Though your enemy seemed rather stupid, to put it bluntly. Anyway," he turned to Adriano again, "Do tell your girlfriend this offer too," he said.
"My four million dollars, per year mind you, in exchange for joining SCAR. I've said this offer thrice now. I'd like a response." he said, much more serious now. "You already work very well as a team, and with my resources you can aspire to great things. Very great things."

Re: The big apple
Marcus shook his head at hearing Vitreo's employer harping on the subject. It stood to reason that an offer made with such a high payout should be incentive of it's own, This dark stranger repeating it so many times only made it sound more desperate. The only reason someone would push that sort of endeavor so admittedly, would be because it entailed activities that most others had turned down, and at that pay grade those would have to be pretty nasty.
"No....I think I'll pass, although your funding would make my journey much easier, I am not ready to join any group that I know so little about." Marcus stated flatly and then tossed the business card into the trash can that the stranger had just used.
"Vitreo, I have not known you long, so please take my opinion for what it is worth to you. I do not trust this man that you say you work for and do not know how well you know him, but I think you maybe have gotten yourself into the wrong crowd. I am a good judge of character and I can see, especially with how you handled that lizard man, that people that bare these sorts of gifts are usually in it for their own benefit and not yours. I beseech you to hear my words, and join me in my quest. I can not offer any large amount of money like he can but what I can offer you is the chance to use your powers to make a real difference and not as some henchman bound to his master like a dog. Join me and we will set out to really do some good....on our own terms." Marcus paused, looking around the room to see what impact his heart felt speech was making.
"Tomorrow I will be getting intel on where my vestments are located, I have heard that a terrorist organization has the first one, and I plan to stop them from using my sacred possession for their evil purposes. I could use your help."

Re: The big apple
Nightkill gave a shrug. "Your loss, I suppose." he replied, getting back up. He'd find other people, though he was disappointed, as superhumans were difficult to find.
"Vestments, you say?" he asked, sounding much more interested now. What were these items? He put his sword to his sword, as though making sure it was still there. Were they more powerful than the sword he had now, Clarent, wielded by Arthur's nephew Mordred himself?
Nightkill sat back down. "Interesting indeed." he said, keeping his face blank, though his voice sounded fascinated, bordering on greedy. "What kind of items are they?" he asked, settling down. Highly unlikely they were more powerful than Clarent. Probably some family artificat which was important to this man.
(That satisfy you, oh Lord Coffin, sir?)

"He isn't working for you. His things aren't your concern."
Adriano had snapped at night. Nightkill was certainly showing a negative side of himself.
"you know, I don't know THAT much about what you expect me to do either. I'd like to hear more. As in, right now."

Re: The big apple
Nightkill shrugged. "I'll be willing to do that. Quite simply, you'll be doing some work such as killing enemies of SCAR, or robbing some places for proper technology I require, mostly genetics factories and weapons factories. I don't need you to rob banks for money, money isn't an issue."
"What is this all for, you might ask? Peace. Peace on this godforsaken Earth which I have lived on for over six decades." he said, though this sounded strange, as he looked only thirty or so. But his voice and eyes were honest, as though he genuinely wanted peace. "Peace is my ultimate goal, and if some have to die in order to reach it, so be it. Even you don't join me, I'll still reach my goal eventually." he said.
"You require more information, or is that enough?" he asked. "If you are truly against killing someone, I'll easily place you inside another role. If you don't want to join, so be it. I won't aid or hinder you in your future travels."
"However, if you dare move against me, or stop me from achieving Peace, you will make me an enemy, something you will not want."

Re: The big apple
"peace? How do you wish to achieve peace? Obviously you don't mean to do it peacefully. How many people will have to die for this peace of yours? Also, how old are you really? If you've been around for so long, you clearly aren't a regular human being. What might your ability be? Oh, and please don't play dumb and tell me you don't have one. I won't have it."

Re: The big apple
"Achieving peace peacefully? That's not possible. My method is as good as any. How many humans will have to die for 'my' peace? I don't know yet. Hindsight in 20-20, but foresight is pretty blind. How old am I? I believe I'm nearing my seventieth birthday soon enough. And you are correct, I am not a normal human. I am an alien, similar to your friend there. My power? First of all, I don't have a power, I have powers. Second of all, that is one of the only pieces of information I will not share with you, as you may become an enemy later, and I can't have you knowing all my abilities." he said.
"Any more questions?" he asked, yawning. "Sorry about that, suffering from jet lag from taking my daughter to Disneyland." he said. A policy of full disclosure worked for him usually, as his enemies considered him much more respectable. He also upheld his promises. If this group didn't interfere with him, he'd let them do what they wanted. If they did interfere with him, they would pay. If they allied with him, he would make sure they got what they needed.

Re: The big apple
"So Let me get this straight? Although you have nearly endless amounts of money, You still need to have 'cronies' steal for you? Why not just buy the technology? I will tell you why, probably because these companies wouldn't see there technology to the likes of you! And why so worried about not giving too much information up because of the fear of somebody turning it against you? Could it possibly be because upon hearing your great plan for peace that anyone in their right mind would try to stop you? Hitler had a plan for peace...it entailed taking over the world and running it under his boot heel!" Marcus could feel his blood starting to race, He breathed deeply and tried to control his temper. Knowing full well that if he were to sway Vitreo it wouldn't be with mindless violence.
"His definition of peace....as always just another megalomaniac who believes that he has all the answers. Have I killed? ...Yes, Did I feel remorse after doing so? Yes. Did I ever kill to fulfill so self proclaimed prophecy that all others are wrong and that I am right....No! I can tell you this now Mr. Alien millionaire, Although you have done nothing as of yet, to warrant my aggression, I can assure you that I will have my eyes on you....And if the day ever comes that I don't find myself ....standing in your way....I will be a much more formidable obstacle than you can imagine. " Marcus huffed hard, his pulse was racing and he knew that if he didn't stop now that he'd loose it again.

Re: The big apple
Nightkill patiently waited for the rant to finish. "The government prefers not to sell their top-secret technology to anyone- especially since most people aren't supposed to know it exists. I buy what I can, but some things have to be stolen."
"You really should be a public speaker, but you need to get your facts straight. And please don't compare me to Hitler, I find that man an abomination, especially since I suffered under his rule. Yes, I was an adult since my creation, I'm an android. I did not have a child stage." he said.
"I see we don't seem to have anything to talk about." he said. "Salaam." he checked the time on his watch. "However, are you still interested?" he asked Adriano.

Re: The big apple
Adriano assessed the situation to the best of his ability.
"....Nope."
He had thought the situation over. Frankly, he wanted the money, bad. However, Marcus had saved him a little while back from that lizard thing. He owed him that much, anyway.
"Good luck with all of that."
Deep down, there was a conflict going on inside him. What if he was making the wrong choice with this...?

Re: The big apple
Marcus couldn't help but grin, and yet again the sinister looking snarl appeared under his helmet. He walked over and patted Vitreo on the shoulder. "Even if you don't choose to join me Vitreo, I am very pleased that you won't be under the control of that manipulative little man. That being said, I do indeed hope that you will join me. I think you are wise beyond your years, and your assistance in my quest would be, not only very helpful but most likely an important learning lesson in patience for myself. I will let you take the night to consider my offer, We can meet here around 1pm after my meeting with my other friend and you can tell me your answer....OK?" With that Marcus retired upstairs. He barricaded the door to the upstairs room and stretched out on the hard floor. Their was no furniture in this room, because this was an abandon house and typically they weren't furnished. The convenient couch and trash cans downstairs were still a bit of a mystery to him, but he supposed people sometimes left items in houses when they departed.
As sleep crept up and over took him after the exhausting day, dreams started to play at his troubled mind. The real reason he'd reacted so offensively to the mysterious employer of Vitreo's was because of a single word, "Peace". It was a word used by cowards and dictators in Marcus' opinion. He was a soldier and a warrior born, a man that believed in the necessity of war because after all, what was "WAR" anyway. It was opposition by nature, something Human beings had been doing since the dawn of their species and would continue to do until they were gone. War is life, it is the struggle against one's perceived enemy and without it we would still be the hairy apemen doomed to be ruled by the strongest monkey, no matter how many opposed it's rule. Peace is just a nice term used by submissive that would happily go along with whatever their dictator fed them, unaffected by the implications of a hive mind. No, humans were individualistic by nature, there would alway be conflicting ideas and because of this there would always be War.
That night Marcus dreamed of War, explosions, blood, death, and freedom. The choice to choose ones on path. It was a good dream.
