Benji is very much an alpha, and is incapable of taking orders. However, he does not think himself immune to others questioning his decisions. He can be polarizing due to snarky, sometimes even cruel, sense of humor that often dominates his conversations. He can be idealistic at times, but is also very selfish. He is extremely mentally flexible, sometimes to his own detriment.


Benjamin "Benji" Buenaventura i Song was born to wealthy first generation Catalan immigrant Miguel Buenaventura i Vinyes and Japo-Hawai'ian-Cherokee Leilani Song in 1999. Despite dealing with domestic abuse at the hands of his father, homophobic and racist bullying, and mental illness, Benji graduated high school a year early, albeit with a slightly under-par GPA, and enrolled in Central Oregon Community College, planning to transfer into Georgetown as an international relations major, just before his mother died in a freak automobile accident. As a result of her death, Benji inherited a psychic connection to a pair of blades and a pair of shoes, known respectively as the Godslayers and the Godlifters, and a connection to his personal "ancestral plane," where the spirits of his mother and other past owners of the Godslayers and Godlifters reside. He used this tragic event to propel him to move to Harlem, New York City, where he used his gifts to become a thief in order to satisfy his desire to have the finer things.

Multilingual: Benji can speak English, Catalan, Hawai'ian, and Pidgin fluently (the Hawai'ian partially as a result of his ancestral skills), and Spanish moderately well. He also is level one on a bunch of different language on DuoLingo.


Bipolar Disorder 1: Benji goes through periods where he either lacks energy, requires more sleep, and has a significant increase in appetite, or has more energy, requires less (sometimes even no) sleep, and is more alert.

Alcohol Dependency: While it fails to be a full-on addiction, 5 out of 7 nights of the week, Benji will probably some degree of tipsy, though rarely fully drunk.


The Godslayers: These are a pair of indestructible and infinitely sharp pāhoas, or single-edged knives, made of an unknown rose gold-colored substance. They are each approximately eight inches long. Benji painted the handles to be covered in silver glitter.

The Godlifters: These shoes are made of an unknown and flexible/form-fitting material but indestructible substance that is the color of rose gold, similarly to the Godslayers but less stiff. Benji painted them to have silver glittery tips and heels.


Benji is a proudly effeminate gay man and wears glittery or metallic nail polish, usually gold/silver. His favorite color is orange. His favorite rapper is Cardi B, his favorite band is Panic! at the Disco, and his favorite singer is Rihanna.
