INV ONLY A bit of training

Heroics weren’t exactly something that many would pin to Miguel and yet he managed to do them more than menace the public in his own mind. Within the span of the last few weeks he had managed to save a hero down on their luck within the worst way and in some odd fashion managed to have him rope him into training them. Not that he really minded doing something like that. Anything that kept a fellow overly strong person from breaking anything sounded really good to him. Images of him accidentally breaking things often came to mind as he paced around the semi dusty floor of the warehouse.

A friend of a friend had managed to get this place just for his own use, line with various work out equipment that strength based metahumans could use to keep themselves in shape. He lifted a silver colored flask to his lips, throwing his head back as some of the foul tasting liquid filled his mouth and poured down his throat. Something about alcohol managed to calm his nerves, making the continual curse of his own powers more bearable. He was dressed in the usual fashion of black denim, with a grey muscle shirt, the usual denim vest hanging on a hook beside the large metal sheeting door covering s massive entrance way.

He looked down to his phone, sending a text reminding Roan that he was suppose to be here in a slightly nice way. Slipping the phone back into his pocket, he would grab one of the bench pressing bars, made heavier with some of those dense metals. It weighed more than it looked, causing him to strain slightly even with one arm to get it above his head, as he proceeded to do a few reps as he waited for his trainee.

Roan trudged his way to the address that Miguel had given him. A warehouse in the middle of nowhere, he was told, somewhere to train to become stronger. Roan had once believed he was one of the strongest, until a ram horned she devil had proceed to slice him open and nearly cave in his head. His rough hand traced the large scar left on the right side of his face, a jagged line from his jaw to forehead. The hair in the area had refused to grow back, leaving a line in his beard and eyebrow.

Two loud vibrations sounded off from his pocket, his phone began to read out the text to him. Miguel, of course, reminding him he's late. It wasn't Roan's fault that he couldn't drive or take most public transit. A cool breeze blew over him, stinging his face where he had been cut; For some reason it still wasn't fully healed.

The redhead found himself outside of the warehouse doors, sliding through them to the sight of Miguel holding a bar over his head and shoulder pressing it. "A dumbbell of sorts would probably be a bit easier, i'd think. Easier to balance at least." Roan began to twist his torso, arms perpendicular to the floor. He slowly and achingly found himself on the floor, doing pushups to warm up his muscles. That day he chose not to wear his bloodied hero outfit, it was a constant reminder of what had happened. Instead, he had shown up in a tight fitting, white tank top, loose black sweatpants and his trusty pair of converse. As Roan stood up, he wrapped a black bandanna around his forehead "Where we starting, boss?"

Each rep made doing so a little easier, something that Miguel had always assumed had something to do with some aspect of his metahuman ability. His strength was a confusing thing really, though he never tried to fully comprehend beyond the fact that he could hit really hard. His attention did however snap to someone walking into his warehouse, a certain red haired metahuman he had gone out to save. It appeared that he took care to wear a tight shirt, though Miguel assumed it had something to do with just a personal appreciation of his physicality. ”Here you are.’ he said with a smirk, giving the male another once over as his arm continued to lift the weight itself with now no problem whatsoever. Something came up about a dumbbell, but he shrugged the best he could with the weight in his hand.

”probably, but I don’t have any heavy dumbbells around.” He admitted with a small smirk, raising the bar above his head before settling it on the ground. Miguel rolled his joints a few times, seeming to think on what they would start with. He had never actually put much thought towards training someone, and yet here he was, offering to train an attractive red head in how to get stronger. Well, he did offer to do so and that was what caused Prodigy to do this now, maybe so he didn’t get beat up by demon goddesses.

”Well, I guess best place to start is a little lifting. Got a few….friends to supply me with these weights made from super dense mystery metal. They look lighter than they are, but they might be right for you to do some strength training.” Miguel motioned to one of the smaller weights, though if Roan lifted it he would find that it was difficult to lift, but possible. ”Just gimme a few reps with that first.”

Roan took the dumbbell from Miguel, with a slight grunt. The weight was surprisingly heavy, and it took some adjusting before it sat comfortably in his hands. Roan moved his elbow flush to his side, contracting his bicep, forcing the weight to defy gravity and move towards his shoulder, it was then his knees bent, and with a quick movement, Roan moved the dumbbell above his head, and began to raise and lower it with as much control as he could. "You weren't kidding, how much does this weigh?! 5 tons?!" After five reps, Roan dropped the weight back to his waist, switched hands, and repeated the actions again, but on the other side. "A weapon made from this material would be pretty handy, don'tcha think?" He felt the blood rushing to his muscles, as veins began to pop out. Roan began to curl the weight as well, focusing on the contraction. "So how long do you suppose it'd take before I can push the same amount of weight that you can?" He finished his sets across both sides, and stretched his hand, feeling the tension in his fingers "And I need to learn how to be faster."

Miguel watched the male lift the weights silently, amber eyes following the movement of the weight with each successive pump. He wasn’t sure what rules their strength worked on, so he had no idea what manner of training would even do for them. Still, maybe he could work off the same thing that made Miguel so strong over so many years of just honing his own abilities. ”Somewhere around that weight, maybe a little under it.” Miguel answered, with a shrug not really have a good idea on what the weight was. Maybe there was an inscription on it about the weight, but he would let this guy lift it until they were tired.

”A weapon made out of the material?” he mused out loud, scratching his chin and looking up to the ceiling with a huff. ”Would probably hurt like hell if you swing it really hard.” He then added with a nod, keeping his hands rested on his hips and continuing to watch the male lift. ”Got some nice muscle definition there.” He then added in there with a small wink, giving out compliments where they felt like they belonged. The question came about when he would be able to lift as much as him, Prodigy thinking deeply.

”Don’t actually know that dude. I was born sorta strong, but I guess with enough lifting you can do maybe even more.” He offered, wondering if that was the truth. ”I guess being faster might come along with the whole stronger thing, that’s how it worked with me anyway.”

Roan made his way over to a large bar "So what do you use to squat?" He began to flip the bar around in his hands, as if it were weightless. "I imagine it could cut through anything, edge or not...might be helpful.." Roan began to pace back and forth, plotting the idea of it "With that material..an axe could weigh a few tons and be a normal size compared to most people...and would wreak havoc on anyone in my way.." He wandered around the warehouse, looking at all the equipment, and out the windows towards the vehicles.

"Maybe we should uh, use those trains you got sitting out there? To squat of course." Roan turned back towards Miguel "I guess I got lucky that my powers came at the height of my weightlifting career" He began to laugh "So, just keep lifting the heaviest things I can get my hands on..maybe try training my legs to move faster with heavier weights?" Roan was only limited to average running speeds, though his endurance was through the roof, due to the facts his muscles wouldn't fatigue and his lungs were stronger than the average humans.

"So...I need a new costume..mine is sort of...done for"

”I just use whatever…works for squats. Have to keep the glutes in shape.” Miguel noted giving his own butt a slight pat as if making some manner of point. Sure, he worked out, but building up musculature though massive muscles were not likely something that he would ever have despite the strength hew contained within himself. Roan however was continuing to talk about an axe and how dangerous it would be to have a weapon composed of the weights metal. ”Could probably just swing these weights around as weapons with how dense they are.” He then added with the idea of whacking bad guys with the weights within his mind.

The idea of squatting with trains was something that came up, and Miguel was actually amused by that idea. ” Ya know what, squatting with trains sounds really awesome.” He mentioned sounding rather intrigued about the idea, as he tried to remember where the trains were before actually walking off. He would motion for Rampart to follow along behind him as he took them out behind the massive warehouse, where a few smaller train cars

”Need a new suit?I…could probably find someone who could fit you with something. Can’t promise anything though.” Miguel stated outloud, though he wondered if there was anyone that could really even make a suit, as he lifted one of them with no seeming strain. ”So…squats, right?”

Roan nodded slowly "Trains work, yah." He followed Miguel outside, watching him lift the train up with little effort, and squatting it "I'm just not too keen on wearing civilian clothes, no offense." He snorted, as he moved towards the train. He took a low squat position, tilting the train up, and scooting himself underneath it. With a loud grunt, he moved the train into motion, straightening his legs. With a second grunt, which came out almost like a roar, he lifted the vehicle up over his head. Slowly, he lowered himself until his thighs were parallel with the ground, then stood back up. "This is pretty...fuckin heavy." A gasp escaped his mouth on the fifth rep as his legs began to shake, not allowing him to push the train back up one more time. He roared, pushing the train back as far as he could, putting himself out of harms way.

Roan sat up slowly "So if demons exist, what else exists in this world? I mean..I see people fly, and control fire...but what about gods and stuff? Magic?" looking up at Miguel, he cocked and eyebrow "I mean, Madeline exists, so what else does..and who is to say I can't experience these things?" He slowly stood up "But how does one go about traveling to the nine realms..or hell for that matter?"

”None taken. Not everyone can do the whole civilian look.” He replied with a non-chalant shrug, as they squared out for what looked to be some squatting. As the red head lifted the vehicle over his head, Prodigy did the same with obviously less strain than the male, as he went about his squatting. This was after all more for the male to gain strength than for Miguel to. ”I guess this is pretty heavy.” He said as the male threw off the train, hearing the sound of heavy metal slamming into the ground with a resounding sound and then threw it off as well. Trying to get someone stronger than they were when he just appeared to outdo him every time.

”Anything could exist within this world but….never met anything magic before.” Miguel admitted, thinking back over what actually existed. Meeting a demon was a new one but then again that was just an interesting experience. ”There’s probably someone that has that kind of knowledge, but I do not know that.” Miguel stroked his chin,  furrowing his brows and trying to think over who would even know something like that.

”Okay, putting  finding magic people on the top of the list.” He said, jotting something down on his mental list. ”So….i’m hungry now.” Miguel then added with seemingly no prompt as he buried his hands into his pockets.

Roan shrugged "I just like looking heroic, out of the ordinary, so people know i'm different, which, I guess can get me in trouble." He found himself underneath the train once again, going through the squat routine again, focusing on the concentric and eccentric contractions, while listening to Miguel talk. "I mean, that one lady who beat the ever living shit out of me could be considered magic, correct?" After six whole reps this time around, Roan shrugged off the train, and stood tall, stretching his back "We should find someone with that knowledge! If there's multiple of us, there's gotta be more of them..maybe a black market?" Roan grabbed the train, attempting to press it above his head, using momentum from his legs "Bring me with on that venture, and I agree with you, grub sounds good twenty four seven." Due to his strength, Roan's metabolism was that of a whale, able to consume 10,000 calories and still maintain his weight. The redhead mopped off the sweat that adorned his face, and moved his arms in circular motions, stretching out his tendons.

"So burritos?"
