The Looks

Nadia is a petite woman, clutching onto thinness by threads. Her dark skin is covered in freckles, which can really only be seen in the daytime, but she loves them nonetheless. Nadia's honey brown, almond shaped eyes come from her mother, and her small defined nose from her father. Her mother has told her countless times that her long and curly tresses (which are quite frankly hell to manage) come from her father's side of the family. Most of the time, the is sure to keep it in box braids, which in all honesty isn't that better to manage, but it soothes her mind. Her bow-shaped lips are in a perpetual smirk, and are nearly never seen without some dark lipstick. Now, she isn't big on make-up, but she does put just a bit on, depending on her mood. It's never a lot though.

Nadia's outfit is honestly something that she thought up on a late-night alcohol binge, she was pleasantly surprised when her sober self deemed it acceptable. She wears a light, hooded, sleeveless Kevlar body suit, (and depending on how she feels, there's sometimes even a turtleneck!) with a slim design built for speed and agility. It's not bulletproof, so whenever she gets shot it hurts like hell, but thems the facts. Over it, she wears a (surprise!) grey sleeveless trench coat with pockets galore. Come to think of it, she has at least 10 knives stuffed into that old coat alone, and even more stuffed in strategic places on (and in) her Kevlar. Black combat boots with pastel green laces adorn her feet, sigils and signs cover them from the inside out (and if she's in a particularly good mood, she'll draw air runes, which quite frankly, make her float on air). They're always in the best condition, she loves those boots like they're her own illegitimate children.

The Legacy

Personality: Nadia is a roguish woman, who's so cocky it gets a bit infuriating at times. She will tell you off in a second, and will enjoy watching you crumble before her very eyes. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that she stabs herself for her own enjoyment, but who knows. Nadia doesn't dish out anything that she can't take though, if she can't take the level of bull she's throwing, then she reels herself back in. Most of the time. Sometimes when she gets too angry, she's like a loaded gun with it's safety gone. Sometimes, after a fight, after all the adrenaline leaves her system, she realizes how little she has to fight for. That's when she's at her most dangerous. That's when the side-affects of her blood magic take its toll.

History: Nadia grew up in the lovely town of New Orleans, Louisiana. Of course, being in that area, she was subjected to magic at a young age. Mostly voodoo and fortune telling, really. Never had she thought that she would ever dabble in blood magic. See, blood magic is like the forbidden fruit, it bears so much power and potential, but the cost for it is hardly ever worth it. Nadia, being a perceptive child, would notice the strange glances her parents would catch on a daily basis. It was hardly ever serious, just a bit unnerving and creepy. Then came her grandfather. Nadia's grandfather, an old man of about ninety-three at the time, came to live with them around Nadia's thirteenth birthday. She'd always catch tail ends of conversations between him and her parents, none of them ever sounding even remotely nice. But, she could never confirm it, because they were quite normal when around her, she could never find any remainders of their arguments in their facial expressions. It was beyond weird, but other than that, it had never gotten out of hand. Until, her seventeenth birthday that is. Her birthday present from her grandfather was two dead parents if you could believe it! Fun right? Nope! Not at all! Nadia came downstairs to the sight of her grandfather, standing by the front door, bags in hand, and two bloody corpses on the floor in front of him. He was drawing some sigils on the floor in front of him, she knows now what they were, banishment sigils, to send the bodies off. Nadia's kinda glad he didn't finish in time. Her grandfather's uncaring grey eyes swept over to Nadia, finished up the sigil, and gestured with his head that it was time to go. She still doesn't know why she followed him, doesn't even know why she didn't scream at the sight of her two parents lying bloody and beaten on the floor. But, she stepped over them gingerly, took her blue bag from her grandfather and followed him out the door. They left back to an old house that he bought on the countryside. He proceeded to tell her of how her grandmother had been a powerful blood mage, quite possibly the best in New Orleans. He told her of how her bloodline was cursed, of how they needed the outlet of blood magic because of a powerful and old enemy that had made it his dying wish to enact pain on our family over a petty theft. Nadia simply nodded and listened, took it all in stride. She went along with it, sure. Although she never actually believed it until her grandfather died using it to protect her from a stray warlock from their old town, looking for him in payment of a debt. Nadia saw red and the next thing she knew, she was bleeding profusely from her hand, a body was crumpled on the floor, and her head was reeling in pain.

The Powers and Weaknesses

(All characters can be as powerful as they want, as long as they are balanced with proper weaknesses.)
Powers

Power 1: She has the power to manipulate her own blood.

Power 2: She's a spell caster, she writes the sigil or rune on her hands (in blood, because she doesn't have the natural power of regular mages) and breaths life into them

- Kenaz - Sends a volley of three fireballs. (About the size of bowling balls.)
- Sowulo- It's a bright light basically, if she hits it directly into her victim's eyes it stuns them for a good few minutes.
- Iratze- Heals her own wounds.
- Algiz- It's a shield basically
- Reda - It's an air rune. She writes them on the bottom of her shoes and they allow her to hover.
- Binding- It's exactly what it says on the tin. Whatever is made with this rune is made in blood, and it's broken by blood too.

Weakness(es)

Weakness 1: Blood magic takes a great toll on its caster depending on the spell. It's quite unpredictable really, but the bigger the spell the quicker and harder is the fall out. Normally, for the lesser spells, it results in hard hitting hangover like headaches. But the further up the power scale you she goes, she can rupture organs and she even lost her sight for a week once.

Weakness 2: Nadia's blood magic relies on her ability to keep a cool head. The more erratic and distressed she becomes, the more erratic and distressed her magic is.

Weakness 3: While she could beat you with just her magic, if put in a fight without it, she's easy to overcome. Sure she can hold her own, just... not well.

Weakness 4: Her spells require a cooldown time of sorts. After she's used a certain spell about three times, she cannot use it again until she has regained a bit more of her strength.

RP Mechanics

RP Mechanic(s):

- Occasionally, Nadia has been known to drain her own blood and put them into spray paint canisters for a rainy day. It's creepy, she knows. But a girl has to be careful, ya know?

- Other than her creepy blood spray cans, Nadia carries around two pistols (both ivory in color with flower engravings on them), for those times when her knives and magic won't get her any further. The bullets occasionally, are known to have blood binding sigils on them, trapping the user to their spot for a limited amount of time.

- Nadia can play a mean saxophone.

Sorry, but haemokinesis is not really allowed on SHRP - it's a very permission based power as people don't particularly enjoy the idea of their OC's being ripped apart from the inside out.

You would need to list every single spell or rune she has access to/can use and for every three, have a weakness.

Spells are a 3:1 :: Power:Weakness ratio.

You could always just have self-blood haemokinesis. So you can manipulate your own blood.
