The Legacy

Personality: Jasper is a calm and reserved kid, maybe even a bit shy. In contrast to his brother, he is very booky and prides himself on his intellect. Despite the fact he doesn't talk too much and keeps to himself most of the time, he is extremely snarky when he wants to be. Likely a bit arrogant to, try to tell him something he disagrees with he will simply sit there with a superior smile on his face. When you get to know him though, you can see that's just a part of his sense of humor, which is rather vast surprisingly. He tends to keep away from physical things, possibly in an effort to be different from his brother, wanting to sit on a computer or read more then anything else. A few traits of his his brother seems to have the exact opposite of are cynicism, neatness, stoicism, indifference, and stressing over minor things.

History: Jasper and his brother Deon were born twins, an event which claimed the life of their mother and left them with a drunk deadbeat father. Despite being physically identical, the two seemed to be polar opposites throughout their lives. They didn't know it yet, but they had an interesting form of the metagene that seemed to have caused this. However, they got along a lot better then you would expect from two people so different. They only had each other for a long while, they had to protect and support each other because no one else was going to. On one night, their father was getting a little too rough with Jasper, and when i say that i mean he was brutally beating the boy. Deon couldn't just stand and watch, not anymore.

Under the intense stress Deon's powers activated and he killed their father in a fit, continuously beating on the body even after it was long past dead, then bursting into tears. Oddly, just when his brothers powers activated, so did Jasper's, and the two developed brilliant luminous eyes, their only physical difference. From there they took to the streets, and the two brothers became the prime suspects in their Dad's murder. So, in desperation, they went to a place known for helping people like them, for helping metahumans. They quickly found themselves swept up into the following of Lucius Alba, who made a few calls and cleared the two's names. After that....well they proved themselves to be fit for the position of lieutenant.

The Powers and Weaknesses

Powers

Pacifist: Jasper is protected by an unknown force that shields him from anything and everything that would bring him harm. If an action of violence is made against him, it will fail in some way no matter what. This also extends to an invisible barrier being formed around him whenever those filled with anger or violence try to touch him. (See Weaknesses for details)

Perception Manipulation: Jasper can manipulate how the world is perceived by himself and others. This can even be done to fool sixth senses or abnormal forms of perception as well as technological and magical forms of recording. Essentially a practical and advanced form of illusions. Can also be used to see through others illusions as he has complete control of his own senses. (2)

The Twins: Jasper is mentally linked with his brother. With concentration he can see through his sense's as if they were his own and communicate flawlessly over long distances.

Weakness(es)

Pacifist: Though he cannot be harmed himself, he cannot induce harm. Even if he wanted to, he would be stopped by the force that protects him. This extends to his illusions, which aren't allowed to cause pain or inflict horror. Also, if any action of violence is made against someone effected by his illusions, the illusions will cease to effect that person seconds before said action resolves.

It's Not Real: Touch illusions are based entirely on the belief of the person they are effecting, so if the person knew it wasn't real, they wouldn't be effected by that aspect of Jasper's power.

The Price of Power: Due to the fact Jasper can manipulate how he perceives things, he has created false worlds for himself. This has a variety of negative effects on his sanity, and he often will spout random gibberish pertaining to another situation that's totally unrelated. Essentially he is losing his grip on whats false and what's real.

Fear of Heights: Jasper is deathly afraid of heights, to the point where an illusion involving it will bypass his defenses against such things.

Link Negation: Any reasonably strong telepath can negate the mental link between Jasper and his brother in seconds.

RP Mechanics

Mind's a Fortress: A minor ability of Jasper's is his immunity to mental powers, at least when it comes to a telepath entering his mind or a telekinetic directly manipulating him. (RP mechanic to explain permission based mental powers not working on him.)

Kinda the Brains of the Two: Though by no means superhuman, Jasper is a genius. He seems to be particularly adept in the use of technology and tactics.
