The Legacy

Personality: Valen appears to be a laid back and friendly guy who just wants to find things that interest him. Despite this though, he is an extreme sociopath, not caring much for life or anything else that isn't currently on his mind. He tends to like screwing with people for his own amusement, that's what happens when you spend so much time on the sidelines, all alone. So yes, he can come off as quite cruel, but the first impression is that of a joyful and headstrong individual. He has absolutely no sense of morality whatsoever, and doesn't quite care for the bigger problems in the world. He would much rather enjoy the simple things while he waits to fulfill his destiny and duty, which always comes first.

History: So what is he? Well, that's a good question. One with a rather convoluted answer, but then again this is the history section. Probably like only three or four people are ever going to read this, so congratz to those guys, you're fags. Anyway, let's get on with this. Valen, as a concept, was created when man conceived the idea of the end of the world. He didn't take on sentience until later however, as the idea grew so did he. Yes, Valen is the embodiment of ragnarok, an ancient force of nature. Ironically the thought that the entire world could end had made it so, eventually anyway, as that was the purpose of this being in the end.

In his own words, Valen is not the one to actually end the world, but the one to bury it. When the time finally does come, it's his job to flip the switches that end existence, no matter what actually causes it. No, he cannot end the world on his whim or stop it, he is merely the being that will shut the lights off on the universe and close the door. And after that, after he sees to it the world is put to rest, he will parish. So essentially he is the universes Grim Reaper. Of course, this is a long time from now, and it may never happen. So what does he do in the mean time? Well, that's the thing. He got bored, remaining in wait as this force with only one purpose. And so, he decided to take human form. To see exactly what he would be ending when all was set and done.

What he found was a world that interested him. Yes, it was bad, but also good. And of course it would likely end some day. But to him that's where it's charm came from. These people knew they were going to die, but they continued on anyway. The whole world did even though the end was going to come eventually. There was beauty in that really, at least in his eyes. So he found himself a new purpose. It wasn't really out of his jurisdiction, but then again it was a stretch and he knew the primordial forces would likely have a problem with it. But then again, those beings ran amok all the time. All he was doing was making sure everyone got their end. So, he went after mortals that had gained eternal life in some manner, and brought them back down to where they were supposed to be. He makes sure forbidden arts are not released into the world, and gives even immortal beings an eventual end.

Currently he is living in Chicago under the name Valen Amnisty, a name he chose for himself. He is enjoying the simple pleasures of life, because after all it's better then watching from the sidelines. When he isn't involving himself in existential bullshit, he works at a coffee shop.

The Powers and Weaknesses

Powers

Ragnarok Physiology: Valen can not be killed, not until everything else is. He takes damage like a normal human, but has a very fast healing factor (30 sec for minor / 1 minute for major) and can still remain alive and well with no pain no matter the injury, so yeah he can still stand with a knife in his head due to a lack of organs and an actual mortal body. If in some way his body is destroyed, even on a cellular level, it will take him no more then ten minutes to fully make a new one or heal from even the tiniest of remains. (3)

Vast Knowledge: Valen has vast knowledge of existence. Nothing is quite out of his reach in terms of information. This makes him nearly omniscient, however he doesn't 'see all' therefor it's not truly omniscience just near unmatched knowledge of the universe and all things in it. So, he might be able to tell you every word of every book in a library, but he won't be able to tell you what you said to your friend on the phone yesterday unless he found out by normal means.

All Things End: Valen can attach an 'end' to nearly anything, including objects and people, and give great details as to what actually happens to lead to that end as long as the details happen at least twenty minutes before the end does. Indeed, he can choose when and how something meets it's end as long as he can see it . He also has to say something along the lines of "You will meet your end at time due to cause." or else he cannot activate this power. This can be death for a person or destruction of an object. (Permission based for ALL characters and their items, obviously.)

The Empty Realm: Valen can freely move between the normal realm and the place of his creation, known as the empty realm, which is actually a layer of the real world unseen by all. But those in the realm can see the real world. In the realm time is slowed to the degree that he could walk a mile, and then come out of the realm and only a second would have past in the real world, mimicking teleportation. This also allows for him to observe the area in a nearly frozen state, however he cannot effect it unless he goes back to the normal plane, where time is it's normal speed, so it's really only a tactical advantage. Whenever his body is one hundred percent destroyed, he appears in this realm alive and well.

Weakness(es)

Must Speak: Valen must be able to speak to attach an end to something. So, him using the power can be stopped by preventing him from speaking.

I only destroy: Valen cannot give someone or something an end that is after the one they already have. Try as he may, this would be extending life, and that is the opposite of his very nature.

Obscured Vision: Valen must see anything he wishes to put an end on to do so.

Fun Things: Valen procrastinates on an absurd level. If he see's something more fun, even if it makes no sense to do so, he will do that instead of what he is currently doing (IE, Go to a jumping castle rather then save someone/fulfill his objective).

Master of The End: If someone completely destroys Valen's body, IE not a particle is left, then from that moment on they can destroy his body again with a simple touch.

Oreo's: It's a really odd thing, but Valen can be convinced to do almost anything with the simple offering of Oreo's. They seem to be like a drug to him.

Unstable Shifting: Moving in and out of the empty realm is straining. A few times in rapid succession may make him dizzy, and any more then that can cause him to pass out or his body to be destroyed completely, thus sending him back to his realm until he can forge a new vessel.
