Sexual Content 2: Sexual content is permitted. References and writing about genitalia and sex acts are permitted, but explicit detail is not. Fade to black, or use the dotdotdot rule. (Let's keep it PG-13.)
Violence 2: Graphic violence is permitted. Explicit description or in-game narration violence is allowed.
Despite these ratings, keep in mind that there is a limit, and you should not cross it just to garner attention. Also, resorting to curse words is also like adding senseless fluff to your posts.

The Legacy |
Personality: Rasmus is a determined individual but is not without a sense of humor. Being dead obviously sucks but he's not gonna let that keep him from living it up! History: Rasmus is the last in a line of ancient and powerful kings. Their bloodline spanned millennia, never broken and only strengthened as the next Artierian son took the throne. So powerful was the mighty Artierian empire that none would dare stand before it. And none should want to. The Artierians were just kings, treating all whom they ruled over with fairness and compassion. Some believed them to be descended from gods themselves as not only were they both mighty and kind, but to each new king, a gift was given. In their own right every one of them was a legend possessing a unique gift to help them triumph against hardship for their people. Some were given strength or speed, bizarre magics and divine abilities. But no king rules forever, and these wise rulers were well aware of their mortality. Unlike most however they did not fear it but instead welcomed death. As the end of an era would near, the current king would go to an ancient shrine that only the Artierian kings knew of. There they would seal away a part of their soul and their abilities so that their wisdom and might may be fall upon their sons. Willing giving up their divinity they would pass on into the next life, granting their eldest son the throne. And so it came like so many before him, that Rasmus came to rule. He was the son of Bor whom many considered the greatest Artierian king to ever have lived. Great power was bestowed upon Bor and he had waged a one man war on the evil that had attempted to invade his great country. He alone ventured into the Heart of Darkness and buried his sword deep within so as to prevent any further incursions from the Darkness. But Rasmus was not gifted with his father's greatness. No, in fact he waited year after year under his father's rule for his gifts to emerge. Surely he would have some inclination of what he would be granted before his father's passing. This however was not the case. Rasmus took the throne ungifted. As far as the people knew, it was the first time an Artierian king had ever done so and immediately unrest brewed in the vast kingdom. Was there something wrong with Rasmus? Perhaps he was not Bor's true son but an imposter. Surely the son of the great and powerful golden king must posses some of his power. But years passed and Rasmus produced no divine gifts. Despite this Rasmus ruled fairly and kept his empire in working condition. But for the people, it was not enough. Unrest turned to uprising and Rasmus like all other Artierian kings was tested. Unlike the others however, poor Rasmus had not the gifts or the skills to triumph in the face of his test. As the people's armies stormed on the castle, Rasmus fitted himself in armor and stood to protect those who woudl stand with him. They were no match for the people. Wave after wave stormed on the castle calling for the head of Rasmus, The False King. They knew not what they would do once the treacherous snake was slain but they knew they wanted his death. Perhaps if he had given himself up, he could have saved his family, his servants, those who stood by him to the end. Instead he fled to the King's Chamber, mortally wounded, and begged his ancestors to help him, to bring upon him the ability to stop this insurrection. His cries fell on deaf ears as he collapsed in the chamber and perished. Inside the castle the people raged and squabbled, dividing up the great Artierian empire amongst themselves. The end of The False King and the end of Artierian rule over their lives for them marked their ultimate triumph. THey raised the castle and buried it beneath the earth. Soon what was left of the world spanning empire was divided up among the traitorous people and the names of the Artierian kings were lost to history. All except for one, Rasmus. With time his name and his story were smirched with lies and deception. Rasmus The Tyrant, Rasmus The Maniacal they called him, The Slayer King of the known world. The true story of the people's revolt was twisted. No longer did they speak of their turning against the kind Rasmus for his lack of divine gift despite his fair rule but instead spoke of it as a victory of the people. Truly history was written by the victors. With greater years however came even a dilution of that story, until Rasmus and the Artierian Empire were fairytales told to children before bed. Rasmus of course was painted as the terrible villain in the story, slain by a noble knight who freed his people. Children loved it, a clear story of good's triumph over evil. It was around this time however, our present day, with children's tales of the defeat of Rasmus on paperback bookshelves that the real Rasmus awoke. There was darkness all around him. His body felt frozen like stone. Then ahead of him a faint purple light shone. Stiff from stillness he inched his tired bones to the light. Surely he was dead, passing on to be reprimanded by the ancestors he had failed. But when he approached the light its form became clearer. In a pool of shallow inky black water lay a sword and from it the light shone. He could not make out the details of the sword but he felt drawn to it and so he allowed his body to fall into the blackness as he drifted to his goal. Upon reaching it he stretched out a tired had and grasped the hilt. In an instant the darkness around him was torn apart by a violet nova of light. He was within the remains of the King's Chamber buried deep below the earth. Still bathed in the light Rasmus looked to his body and discovered, to his horror, that his flesh had all rotted away. He was now little more than bone and sinew. And the sword too was now in full view. It was his father's, emminating brilliant purple radiance in pulses. With each pulse a wisp shot forth from the jewel in the sword until the entire room was filled with them. As Rasmus looked around the King's Chamber, he saw the faces of his ancestors, the Ancient Artierain Kings. When the last wisp was released, his father appeared before him. Rasmus his father spoke. You are the last of our great line. No Artierian King will ever be born again. But you have been given the greatest gift of us all. Restore our tarnished name to glory. I believe in you son. With that the brilliance that had surrounded the chamber rushed back into the sword like a great flood, carrying with it the souls of his ancestors. Discover us the sword spoke in his father's voice once the chamber was once again shrouded in darkness and we shall fight by your side. Rasmus knew what he had to do. |
The Powers and Weaknesses |
(All characters can be as powerful as they want, as long as they are balanced with proper weaknesses.) Powers Solid Bone: Rasmus' skeletal structure has been strengthened and tempered by eons of fossilization and the might of his ancestors making it as solid and durable as bedrock. Etheric Revenant: Rasmus has been reborn as an Etheric Revenant, a being which consumes the lifeforce of living beings. Being near Rasmus gives a person the feelings of fatigue both emotionally and physically but ultimately causing little actual harm. However he can choose to focus this ability to rapidly consume the lifeforce of a targeted being through touch resulting in depression and extreme fatigue at first and eventually progressing to death. The soul of a fully consumed being is stored within his sword. Throne of The Alabaster King: By plunging his sword into the ground Rasmus can summon forth his throne to appear behind him. The throne itself is immovable and indestructible. Once Rasmus is seated on it he takes on the same properties and is able to see in every direction around himself at a much greater speed than normal. Once per summon the throne may be moved instantaneously to a location chosen by Rasmus. Ancestral Inheritance: This is not an individual power but a blanket term for the gift that has been bestowed on Rasmus. Within himself and his sword are the powers and abilities of every Artierian king that ever lived. By channeling a specific king he can take on their gifts and some of their appearance. Below is his current list of transformations.
Weakness(es) Monstrous: Rasmus looks like (and is) and undead creature. As such it is not easy for him to interact with others without the immediate misconception that he is evil. Reactions to his appearance tend to range from "Run for your lives!" to "Kill it with fire!". Separation: Separating Rasmus from his sword prevents his use of The Throne of the Alabaster King until the sword is once again in his possession. Statue: When using The Throne of the Alabaster King, Rasmus is completely incapable of movement. So while he may be indestructible and the like, all he is capable of doing is watching what is going on around him. Should he choose to move, the throne will disappear and e will return to his normal durability. RP Mechanics RP Mechanic(s): Combat Training: Rasmus like all Artierian kings has been trained in the art of war. He is more than capable of handling himself in combat. Lifeforce: Rasmus is sustained entirely on life energy and does not require things like oxygen, water, food, etc. to survive. Channeling: As an extension of his being Rasmus may channel his life-draining abilities upon contact with his sword just like the rest of his body. Items/Minions Physical Priority (You are to put these physical attributes in order from 1 to 4. 1 is the highest priority, 4 is the lowest.) Agility 3 Endurance 1 Reaction 2 Strength 4 |
