In the dark of the night [invite only]
Night bathed Chicago light a shroud, people going about their lives like they usually did with their cars and whatever. Ever since the New York incident, it seemed that people had moved to Chicago for some ungodly reason. It might have been because the city was just as much a cesspit as New York or maybe it was just because it was the next best place to go to. Eyes attuned to darkness found the nighttime as comfortable as the day, Sebastian silently walking through one of the many twisting and turning alleyways. There was a feeling within his gut, that someone was following him, but that might have been paranoia. It was that feeling that caused the hairs to rise along the back of his neck, his coat being pulled closer as if that would ward off the cold of the city. For some reason it was cold today, but that might have been some kind of lame foreshadowing.
In the distance a police siren sounded off, another crime in progress and another annoyance in the windy city. ”Wonder what's up with that.” He muttered with a sort of chipper tone, a small smirk playing across his lips as he continued to do the walking. A stray thought ran through his mind about why he was even walking through a shadow bathed alleyway, but then he remembered one thing; shadows were his friends. Not like anyone could do anything so long as he had his element around him, a rather bountiful element at that. A low whistle then reverberated through the empty alleyway as he took note of someone, an unimpressive person to the average joe but to him...well they looked pretty fishy. Cliche lines like fishy and average joe aside, well he did not like the feel of this person.
A hand reached down to feel over the switchblade concealed on his right pocket, wondering more than anything if he would need to use it now of all times. Killing left a real bad taste in his mouth, granted he was forced to do so atleast once within his stint in criminal life. A sputtering light cast a shaky shadow across the concrete, and within a few seconds he had sunk into said shadow seamlessly. Within the span of a second, he was standing atop a building, hands still buried into his pockets as he looked down upon the humanoid shape which seemed annoyed by his sudden disappearance. This gang did dislike people who just left them, so sending an enforcer would have made sense. ”Looks like things are getting messier, fan-fucking tastic.” He muttered with a roll of the eyes, removing said switchblade from his pocket, letting the blade slip out.
That was when he heard something, weight thumping against rooftop as his body whipped around rapidly. What his eyes fell upon were not a single person but three of them, one a mammoth of a man with muscles to match. Probably some kind of stupid super strength, the other to were smaller with wiry frames. Either they were stupid or had something that would let them take him down, one of the two. “Made a stupid move there sword boy.” The smallest of them noted with an accent he couldn't quite place, though he didn't give them the time to really say anything else. This jump managed to save him from what could have been a bullet in the back of the skull as he rapidly moved to one of the intersecting alleyways below. Why he had chosen one of the slummy parts of the city to walk around in made no sense, but maybe that was all part of his master plan.
Once again that thump and the chase was on.

Re: In the dark of the night [invite only]
Things were fairly quiet, Charles sat on the ledge of a four story high building, right on the edge. The position he was in allowed him to see the stars clearly. Charles accounted for each star formation, spotting the little dipper, big dipper and several more. Why was he gazing upon the stairs on a roof top? Well, he just finished another score and had a few days to lay low and try to wait for the score to be processed and sold anonymously with little attention, that was the best way anyway..
The score it's self wasn't anything way too grand, it was only an attack on a bank transportation truck, with Carden (Charles) stealing everything inside, of course with the help of others. The money was to be spread out evenly and sorted through secure accounts and other various methods of getting it finalized, part of the last process is money laundering. Which is one of many methods that are used.
Suddenly, Charles noticed a male walk down below him and into a alleyway, of course, it was always shady. But not any more shady then the group of people following in behind. Charles felt curious, maybe it was a drug deal or some kind of deal. But it could also be a trap or some kind of gang bang attack. So in response, Charles transformed into his signature gas looking form, although. That isn't entirely scientifically correct, but it's the simplest word for it.
Carden flowed through the air and near the ground, reshaping into his normal self, following behind, silently like his years of being a professional thief has taught him. Things were about to get ugly, Carden was out of his combat suit sadly and seemingly out numbered. But, of course. Carden was good at improvising, or so he thinks... He followed them further into the alley when they stopped. The smaller guy pulled out a switch blade up a head and in response one of the smaller thug looking guys spoke up, appearing to make fun of the guy with the switch blade. Too be honest, switch blades wont help much versus three guys. If they tried anything, Carden was prepared to retaliate. He was on this switch blade wielding badass's team, Carden oughtta help him out to gain his good deed for the day. But for now, he stayed hidden behind a dumpster hidden in the shadows observing to see if they attack, if they do, they have another thing coming.

Re: In the dark of the night [invite only]
As much as whistling amused them, Wic-kid was brought to a stand still. It wasn't an unusual night for them, they enjoyed their evening parkour, not letting the world get the better of them as they mentally started talking smack about the police in the safety of their mind. They didn't hate the cops, just disliked them. It wasn't like they were even doing a good job or anything. The cops needed to be fired and then the guys there were trying to capture should totally have been hired just to do their jobs of catching the actual bad guys. Just a Wic-kid opinion of course, nothing that they felt the need to vocalize as they approached the edge of a rooftop. Looking over with a sort of half interested curiosity when he saw someone running away. Then there was a spark of lightning or electricity or something. Wic-kid didn't get a good look, but caught the tail end. That was strange, but they didn't think anything of it.
They contemplated the best choice of action before smiling while biting their lower lip and giggling like a tricky little pixie and grabbing the brim of the witch hat that sat atop their head. Slowly removing the hat and holding it over the edge, Wic-kid took a second to judge and guess where the opponent would be as their beautiful flowing brown hair draped over their shoulders, tips touching the middle of their back and falling over their chest. Clearing their throat they softly made their presence known. "Now boys!" The soft voice sounded slightly unusual as it cut through the silence. Wic-kid began to jiggle the hat in their hand, and the subspace in the hat triggered, generating brick after brick, raining bricks down upon one of the bad guys as Wic-kid followed through, drawing the arm back and following through. Finally with a flick of the wrist the hat seemed to fly out into the night sky, towards the horizon line as Wic-kid turned to the next building to the right and jumped over the edge, turning as they fell to catch a window ledge and pressing their toes against the building to do a little back flip, pushing off and then repeating the same flipping motion before landing on the ground.
Their back to the shadow man and wherever the light came from. Holding a gloved hand out, a hat seemed to return to Wic-kid's hand through an adjacent alleyway, a pretty formidable display of their skill. Whipping their hair to the front and feeding the long brown locks into the massive hat, letting it rest on their head, an odd shadow produced from their silky bangs, covering their eyes. "You shouldn't pick on people just for looking better than you." Wic-Kid said as they put a hand on their him and took a rather lax stance in all of this. Black skinny jeans and a black leather jacket with words in green that said "Mommy's girl" with their black boots with buckles on all on top of a lithe form and fists of fury. Could Wic-kid beat these men? Probably not. But that didn't mean they weren't arrogant enough to try.

Re: In the dark of the night [invite only]
Running, now this felt like a familiar feeling. His lungs drew in gulps of air with deep drags of the cold night air, silently considering his options as far as dealing with these three metahumans and their sudden dislike of him. The feeling of the blade within his hand was even more obvious now as he turned, looking around for anything that he could put to use, and anything that would give him the advantage in this..well this fight. He had an idea why these people would want to kill him, but the details sort of slipped his mind as he continued the running thing. He had seen something within the darkness, granted everything in the dark was like daylight to him, there was no real concept of darkness to him. Both blessing and curse when he thought about it, but deep thoughts were for another time really.
He did not quite catch Wic-Kids actions but they were something along the lines of really annoying the thugs that had been chasing him. Luckily none of them had any sort of superhuman speed, otherwise he would have been screwed. Well that was until he heard something, a voice that cut through the night with a jingle almost. Sebastian cut to a halt, pressing his back to the wall as he listened somewhat closely within the darkness. For the moment he could go about doing his thing without being seen, meaning that maybe they would focus upon whoever was talking.”Well now, this is looking promising.” Sebastian muttered to himself watching he strange individual appear on the scene, lithe figure now coming crystal clear. Looked like some kind of hero coming to the rescue or someone that had an interest within what was happening. Most of the thugs seemed to be rubbing their heads, as bricks littered the ground around them, some of the broken from the impact of the ground or the tough metas head.
”Not sure who this chick is but I like them already.” Which was true enough, with their back to him he waited within the darkness as he considered if making a move would have been smart. The big guy, well they looked like the greatest threat, so he would have to put them down first. Something about them was off, might have been the hat. What were they, some kind of witch? Not that he had anything against witches, so long as they didn't do that whole turning people into toads thing, because that was whack.. using this as his chance, his eyes fell upon what looked like a shadow within the semi-darkness, as he would sprout from a shadow behind the brute as his power came into action. A foot slammed into a shadows neck as the brute would begin to grip at their throat, acting as if someone had actually hit their neck.
It should have not killed them really, just shocked them enough for the next move, well until a bright flash of light filled the alleyway and forced him to temporarily retreat through a fleeting shadow. Yeah, they didn't look for some reason, weird right? Where he ended up was behind a dumpster.

Re: In the dark of the night [invite only]
Things began to get sour, the thugs made their way towards the guy running, which was bit unfair considering the fact that one versus three isn't even odds at all. It would seem that there was another person lurking about. Up above it would seem someone was looking over the individual running. They seemed to throw something, a hat? Whatever it was, it ended up dropping bricks from the sky and landing on the brutes head and surrounding area of them.
The following matter changed things, it would seem that this switch blade ninja is a meta as well. He disappeared and reappeared using some kind of power, stomping on the brutes shadow. Somehow causing the brute reach for his neck, clearly having troubles breathing. In response to that, a flash of light appeared and the guy disappeared and reappeared next to Carden looked at him with a puzzled look.
That look then faded away and was replaced with a smile saying, "You stay here, if you see an opportunity to strike, do so, I'm about to see what I can do for you.", he then stood up away from the dumpster and charged up his power, forming electricity in his right hand, he then crosses over to the power box on the other side of the alley that he noticed across from the dumpster they were hiding behind and used his right hand full of electricity to shoot a blast of the electricity into the lock, breaking it. He then opened the fuse box and reached for a knife in his pocket, stabbing into the red power wire and reached for the ground wire. Immediately he started to absorb the electricity from the fuse box, absorbing all the power he can before blowing it and causing a black out for the next two or three blocks in several seconds. His eyes were blue, flickering with electricity, as well as his veins glowing blue faintly.
Carden then aimed his hands and targeted the big brute specifically and moved his neck side to side with a small crack both ways. Carden then smiled saying, "Why not fight someone who will fight back?", then he shot two precision based streams of electricity towards brute, aiming to hit him wherever in his general body.

Re: In the dark of the night [invite only]
"oh, Hello." Wic-Kid said as they noted the power beginning to surge, the entire block going without power a moment as a figure was made very prominent by their glowing veins that seemed to ache and pound with energy. It looked beautiful, but also really painful. The figure said something about fighting someone that would fight back. Was he ignoring them? Jerk apparently didn't see Wic-kid here. It didn't offend so much, tried to be pretty chill as they watched this guy unleash two beams of energy into the brute. "Let's just see how this plays out then."
Crossing one leg over another as they lifted their hat, hair flowing free again and twirling the hat before setting it back atop the head and leaning against the wall slowly, crossing their arms over their chest, an eerie blackness over the eyes and a small little smile on their face. if nothing else they could all probably uncover just how strong this big man was when they were either fried by the energy, or shrugged it off. Anywhere in between those two worked for Wic-Kid too. The bigger they are then the harder they fall. Of course the bigger they were the harder it was to knock them down to begin with, so that seemed like a pointless saying at the moment. "Well since you want to fight back I'll just sit over here, or go to the kitchen or whatever." They added in, teasing the energy manipulator a little with a yawn as they watched the results unfold.
Maybe there would be a better chance to step in and made a nice toss of the hat, or even a nice place to karate chop some necks. They could probably be okay with having taken out one, felt bad for stealing the spotlight anyways. This was something for the hero types to be doing, not someone as boring and uninteresting little old Wic-kid in the semi flattering witch costume.

Re: In the dark of the night [invite only]
It had appeared that two of the men were knocked out or severely damaged by the bricks falling on their heads, something that relieved Sebastian slightly as he peered over the dumpster towards the thugs in question. With their single motion within the fight, this girl with the witch hat took their place on the side lines as they appeared to float within the air in defiance of that lame law of gravity. It was then that he realize that he had ported beside someone, though they had not noticed he was there until he actually was. Giving them a somewhat curious look, he blinked a couple of times wondering if that was why he was actually able to port over here, or if it was just dumb luck. It appeared that this guy would do most of the work for him, and he wouldn't complain about anything.
Once they would leap into a fight, they would produce bright electricity that filled up them alleyway as it was propelled towards the tough looking metahuman with likely deadly force. Adjusting the weapon within his hand, he considered how he would strike while this continued. It would not be easy considering that people were all looking at the target, meaning he would have to be a little creative with all of this. The metahuman would take the hits, his body jerking from the impacts but not dropping like anyone would expect. So they were durable like he expected, meaning that his way of doing things would be much better when dealing with this guy. A strike at the throat, that would take him down, but leave them gurgling on their own blood. It would have been an easy enough thing, just appearing from a shadow and doing the whole shadow strike thing.
The brute would attempt to rise with burn marks forming along the spots where the electricity had hit him. With no one else looking, that meant he could get to work and within an instant he sunk into the shadows once again. The process as always was seamless, and upon appearing out from the shadows his shadow did the striking, hitting the Achilles tendon on the left foot, forcing them to fall to their knees with blood spurting from the injury. Then as quickly as he did that, he sunk back into the shadows a few steps behind Wic-Kid. ”Looks like the big guy wasn't so big afterall.”He noted with a shrug. ”Nice work on the bricks.” He complimented before actually noticing said person. ”Well the one doing the brick chucking isn't half too bad either.” He then added sort of getting off the subject of people trying to kill him.

Re: In the dark of the night [invite only]
Carden watched as the electricity suddenly struck the big brute. It seemed to be effective. But it appeared he was somewhat super durable. Honestly, Carden's power, combined with the power he absorbed should of decimated him. But oh well, I guess the shadow kid did the job sufficiently enough. When the brute when down, the shadow boy or whatever he is disappeared and reappeared behind some girl that had been around for the fight as well, presumably the one that dropped those bricks.
As the two began to talk, Carden stepped forward and began to transform into electricity and flow through the nearby pipe. After flowing through it he disengaged out of the pipe quite close to them and reformed and walked towards them. He had a plan, a possible idea that might just work. Although, for now, he'll just ease slowly into the plan. Going bluntly into it may be defective. He made it before the two, looking at both, turning his head side to side looking at them saying, "Well then, you two aren't complete amateurs, but you got the job done. Well done." Carden was slightly impressed. But of course, none of this was organized, even Carden could of approached it a bit differently.

Re: In the dark of the night [invite only]
Wic-kid didn't have the slightest clue of what to do now. For all they cared this was nothing but a thing, and a thing that was taken care of pretty well considering they were just doing this to have fun. The one man seemed to be a teleported of sorts and the other guy had a electric type of power. The large brick seemed to come toppling down which brought abut a sense of accomplishment, but soon enough Wic-kid heard the steps of the teleporter coming from beside them, in the direction their head was turned from. Turning to face them Wic-kid offered a smirk but nothing changing on their overall stance or appearance. Living in Asylum taught people things pretty quickly. Metahuman abilities and magic were just little details, there was true terror in watching mentally insane people using their powers to help satiate their sick and twisted afflictions. Rapists, murderers, all kinds of people everywhere popped out when Asylum was overrun.
"I was just havin' fun." Wic-kid replied to shadow stranger, a little chuckle added in. Definitely grateful for acknowledgement, but playing it off as cool as possible. Though the other man seemed to have a different appreciation of things. The words were along the lines of amateurs and something along the lines of not being half bad or something typical like that. "Well I am an amateur, so just take the win gunshow."Wic-kid said with a bit of an amused tone before pushing off the wall with their shoulders and taking a couple steps forward, putting some distance between the strangers. Taking a side of the jacket in each hand, they folded it snugly across themselves as their boots let out little jingles.
"Well if that's all. See ya Sparky." Wic-kid said to Carden with a smile before walking past the shadow stepping stranger and brushing his shoulder. "Later Slim Shady." As they continued to make their way for the corner of the alley, calmly and collected as they tried to thing of something else to get involved in. The night was young after all. There had to be something to do around this place.

Re: In the dark of the night [invite only]
The guy totally thought he was an amateur, now that was insulting on so many levels. He was totally not an amateur, atleast not worthless like one of those anyway. Sebastian would have gotten angry, but it seemed like an almost inconsequential thing to really get mad at and they did kind of help him not die. The whole not dying thing, now that was amazing really. Still, with everything cleaned up he could get to getting out of dodge before anymore of those annoying people were sent after him, maybe some going underground would do him some good. This chick with the witch hat something about just having fun, which they seemed to be doing well enough with the whole bricking people on the head. He thought that was pretty cool, the whole spewing bricks from a witch hat but then again he had never seen something like that before.
The witch appeared amused by what the guy had said, but then again they were one of those hard to read types. ”Well that fun you were having sure helped me out.” he responded with a chuckle, and a smirk before turning to the three that had formerly threatened him. ”Though I don't think it's really bright of me to just stick around.” He muttered to himself, wondering if they were dead or just knocked out. However, while he distantly examined the unconscious trio now, he heard something about the witch leaving them to do whatever. It was their life really, not like he could tell them where they could and could not go. All he got was a shoulder brush from them, slightly piquing his interest but nothing major really. Quite the mysterious lady they were, but then again that was something he liked, the whole mystery thing.
Had a certain air about it that he was just drawn to. ”Adios magic chick.” He said with a small wave of the left hand, letting the switchblade retract into the handle and slip back into his pocket. Another night of trouble avoided, all thanks to the rampant expansion of the metahuman species as a whole, though all in all it was an unexpected thing to have happen. Not that Sebastian would ever complain about having that happen, because in the end it was a sort of fun night. Turning towards the man with the electricity, he nodded his head. ”And thank you, guy who I do not know. It was real. Now, I don't wannna sound rude or anything but i'm gonna split.” He said all of this as he walked behind the dumpster once again, and then crouched down. One would see it as him just doing that, but what he actually did was move through the shadows.
There was that usual strange feeling and then within an instant he was elsewhere. Another night survived, all thanks to superpowers and something else. All he had to do was slip out of an alleyway to find himself turning around to a convenience store, and he actually liked those places. They sold food, he was sort hungry and so he would probably get himself a snack from it. ”But what to buy?” He muttered to himself, scratching his chin as he stepped through the front transparent door. As always he would make a beeline for the candy isle, looking down over the various candies until something caught his interest. 3 Musketeers, now that was a candy bar he could eat all day, or maybe the nougat anyway. So that explains why he was plucking around four from the little alcove within the rack, clutching them within his right hand.
”Now that is what I call a jackpot.” Now he needed a drink, but if they had the one he actually liked was yet to be seen, so he actually had to look. Surprisingly enough this one did have what he wanted, so that made for a happy Sebstian really. Candy and cola, all in all it was a good night, save for the whole having to run for his life thing because that part of it sucked. Turning upon his heels with hands mostly full, he bought the goods with a few crinkled bills and then was out into the night air once again, a small smirk growing into a smile as he took a bite out of the nougaty candy bar. Once again there was that siren going off in the distance, causing him to cringe. He felt like he should be expecting something any second, but nothing came up.
Instead, a cop car would speed past him on the sidewalk after a vehicle speeding a little faster before it,whipping up enough wind to make him raise an arm as if to shield his eyes. ”Yeesh, what was that all about?” He grumbled before shaking it off and returning attention towards his candy, because that was a lot better. Some people walking behind him whispered about the chase, mostly indignant words concerning the speeding. They sounded like a couple of old ladies, were probably old ladies too but then again not his issue. Managing to remove the cap from his drink, he took a deep swig and sighed. Not like tonight could have gotten any worse, unless it did, because then he would be royally screwed.
