Rating
Sexual Content 2: Sexual content is permitted. References and writing about genitalia and sex acts are permitted, but explicit detail is not. Fade to black, or use the dotdotdot rule. (Let's keep it PG-13.)
Violence 2: Graphic violence is permitted. Explicit description or in-game narration violence is allowed.
Despite these ratings, keep in mind that there is a limit, and you should not cross it just to garner attention. Also, resorting to curse words is also like adding senseless fluff to your posts.

The Legacy |
Personality: As a general rule, those who play host to beings of cosmic power are not the most stable. Leila has a hard time keeping herself composed, but has things down well enough that she’s only a little frazzled most of the time. A smart albeit scatterbrained woman, she is quite the odd person. A fierce academic and proud to a fault, she is often consumed with her work. She uses it as a coping method, work is one of the only things that can solidly take her mind off all her troubles. Something of a stuffy academic, she has a hard time finding her off switch, rarely ever getting involved in regular fun. Despite her workaholic tendencies, she does have a little time to spare for the general public good, and behind her persona of a bumbling academic there is a really kindhearted woman who has a genuine interest in some sort of greater good. History: Leila was born in New Orleans to immigrant parents who had arrived as war refugees from Syria. Both were practitioners of fairly erudite and unorthodox magic, and this was the primary cause of Leila’s current condition. They had been experimenting with a certain summoning, one which was of a level that they had never attempted before, and accidentally released a being far too powerful for them to hold down and converse with. The only thing that could hold it was a vessel, and rather than risking the lives of everyone in New Orleans, the pair bound the creature to their daughter, who was five years old at the time. The thing that had been bound to Leila was one of a race known simply as the Other. Creatures which danced on the edges of reality and found themselves expressed only in terms of complex formulas and bursts of magical energy, they were something close to avatars of mysticism. The one inhabiting her body was named Da’at and proved to be particularly potent. He would come into dialogue with her frequently, which was certainly confusing for a girl of her age. As she grew in age her relationship with Da’at developed and they began to access each other’s abilities, unlocking both of their hidden potentials and continuously bleeding into each other more and more. Leila would come to depend on Da’at in her daily life, and eventually, after high school, made a point of studying him with the help of her family’s knowledge of magical arts and mysticism. She attended the University of New Orleans, where she studied ancient semitic religious and mystical traditions. She has since graduated but continues to study her abilities, Da’at, and their broader relation to the world. She is primarily interested in how to link the experiences and understandings of the physical world to those of the mystical world. |
The Powers and Weaknesses |
Powers Mystical Senses: Leila is capable of recognizing when and where magic is going on, and generally has some sort of inkling as to the nature of the activity. Mystical Archery: Leila is capable of summoning arrows of mystical energy that are capable of dealing a fair amount of damage, thanks to her connection to other realms via Da’at. Walking on Air: Leila cannot fly, but she can seemingly walk on air, supported by runic arrangements which seem to appear from beneath her feet. Flicker: Leila is capable of great bursts of speed, seemingly teleporting a short range, but is in reality moving extremely quickly. The max speed on this move is Mach 2, but can hit anything under that as well. Weakness(es) Cognitive Dissonance: Leila is plagued by a whole mess of mental problems, which can affect her access to her powers, as she and Da’at are not in full sync. Silver: Silver seems to prevent Leila from accessing Da’at, and thus cancels her powers almost entirely. Socially Awkward: Leila is fairly awkward when it comes to social situations, a result of a strange upbringing, and this often gets in the way of her pursuits. Flicker Limitations: Leila cannot use Flicker endlessly, and it leaves her extremely drained, as the energy for that sort of speedy movement comes from her. RP Mechanics RP Mechanic(s): Leila is an expert in the field of mysticism and wizardry, and thus has a great degree of knowledge when it comes to these sorts of things. She can generally figure out what’s going on if there is a mystical root to the problem. Unnaturally well informed about those arts most mysterious.
