Violence 2: Graphic violence is permitted. Explicit description or in-game narration violence is allowed.
Despite these ratings, keep in mind that there is a limit, and you should not cross it just to garner attention. Also, resorting to curse words is also like adding senseless fluff to your posts.

The Legacy |
History: Arem Senin was born in Post-Modernistic society on a planet known simply as Ven. A fully Democratic conglomerate run by the people, a success story rivaling the dreams of Communists, Socialists, and Conservatives alike. The world flourished, industry boomed to a peak, science advanced rapidly, medicine, food production. Ven became the living archetype of a balanced ecosystem under the control of one species. To summarize, Ven was a real life incarnation of the Garden of Eden. Needless to say, the prosperity affecting the human rock attracted more than a few rogue meteor's; an alien canine race known as Oranak's began to appear in the sky from time to time, being incredibly open about their presence in the vast reaches of space nearby. Worried by the display of power, the High Council of Ven held a meeting to discuss weaponry and militarization in the light of an invasion; the planet hadn't had a large-scale conflict in well over 300 years (as the lifespan of the citizens had been extended by nearly 700 years, grudges were usually not carried for long). Deciding on the safer route, science lept ahead to create space stations capable of self-sustainment, suits that could take nearly any shape, and weapons that could do the same. Deploying a defensive ring of armed battlestations around Ven and her moon, Drassan, the human defenders waited until they would test their mettle in combat. Noticing the defenses set up long before they were completed, the Oranak's consulted their own elders as to their plan. The threat of a hostile species, confident in their ability to prosper, was simply too much for the Elders to look over; the Human's would have to die. With their own technology lightyears ahead of the humans on Ven, the Oranak's created a ship that could reverse the polar gravity of an entire planet. Carefully sneaking behind Drassan, the ship created a vibration in the magnetic fields surrounding the moon, causing the pull outwards to instead be directed inwards, towards Ven. Within a few short hours, Drassan collided with Ven, the orbital rotation grinding Ven into a smooth concave rock. All the meanwhile, Arem had been sent out to one of the outer stations on the far side of Drassan (per the request of his father, the Admiral of the Post-Atlantia Ocean). When Drassan was sent back towards Ven, all but 10 of the stations 400 crew members were sent back down the surface to try and collect survivors; Arem would stay on the station with the other 9 to keep the station in relative orbit around the now-fractured planet and moon. However, the luck would seem to turn in Arem's favor as him and the other 9 members of the station could only watch on while the Oranak battle cruiser sealed the deal for the Human civilization. Using a massive cannon to pulp the rest of Ven into a cluster of rocks, the loss of any and all gravity sent the station spiraling into space without any form of guidance. Lost, and without a sense of real time, Arem and the other 9 crew members attempted to maintain their sanity through games and conversation. Alas, chatter without basis only last so long, as each crew member offed themselves in succession, until only Arem and 3 others were left. The lack of time and the speed at which the station was traveling prevented Arem from aging past a certain point, resulting in a second proof that time was no longer relevant. As this realization slowly grew more apparent to Arem and his last remaining colleagues, insanity slowly took over the other three. A few weeks passed before the twig snapped at the same time for all but Arem, resulting in both a bloody, horrifying loss of humanity, and the locking of Arem in the station archives (luckily, the archives functioned as a break room before the destruction of Ven, and as such, had a direct connection to the food facilities of the station). Without a means of communication with any being besides a programmed computer, Arem began reading through the archives. Talking to himself was commonplace at this point; re-enacting various shows, movies, plays, and book scenes was his entertainment. With the almost limitless literature that his civilization had provided, the time passing seemed nearly irrelevant... All the meanwhile, the armies of Oranak's had advanced and grown multiple times, so much so that they were now one of the last remaining military forces in the dimension. Through in-numerable wars and conquests, their empire would grow to become the last remaining species in said dimension; at least, to their knowing. With all other threats and gene pools removed from existence, the Oranak's settled back into a feudal lifestyle of prosperity and growth; at least, until they evolved past themselves. Reading more closely into the Continued Theories of Wardin the Third, Arem noted how a species could survive for an extended period of time without a hive mind. Senses of uniqueness and individualism created diversity and nationality, which was all said and good, but created strife and chaos at the end of the day, regardless of the means put in place to prevent such an event from occurring. The Oranak's suffered from that exact dilemna. While they originally had a hive mind controlling their original army (massive as it was), the gradual decline of power through one facet became an intimidation and posturing sequence instead. The more powerful you cast yourself to be, the more likely you were to be chosen to lead the hive mind. While this seems impossible to do, as the hive mind would control any thoughts such as that, a system was put in place where each member of the hive mind would annually challenge their leader in an attempt to keep actions and strategies dynamic; the hive mind system had its flaws, and the Oranak's realized that. Selecting a random series of eight different warriors known as the Rak, these eight would be safe from any hive mind controlling, and thus, would make decisions that would benefit the species as a whole. In the end, this led to the Oranak War of the Last Millenia, wherein the first four Rak were pitted against the second four in an awkward and confusing series of mind-controlling. The final death count would lead to the extinction of the Oranak race through a civil war, leaving Arem as the only known survivor in the known dimension (see, Humans were the only species that had such a basic anatomy that they could subsist off of carbon-based molecules, and thus, was the only species that could self-sustain). Arem had been drifting nearly 600 years, until at last, he happened upon the encrypted signal of one of the last battleships of the Oranak's being transmitted. Using some of the Oranak archives that he had happened to be studying in the past 40 years, Arem decoded the message as an indicator that he was the last soul in existence. Obviously, the mental scarring that occurred from realizing that one is the life of a dimension is devastating, and the reactions that every other being that had gone through the same fate up until this point had been fatal. Arem, however, thought differently. Breaking a link in the chain of fate, he retained his sanity. Closing the translation of the message, he immediately resumed his studies on the Architecture of the Gothedral: A Study of the Cheeples and had no thoughts beyond that. In that moment, he erased emotion as he understood it from his mind, changing the course of time. As a dimension is started, it ends, and as the years ticked by, the dimension of Arem slowly grew smaller and smaller, circling inside and within until it collapsed into a reality-bending loophole that didn't have an exit. Stuck as a soul not meant to be there, Arem later described (as Vayes) that the sensation of traveling through existence is extremely pleasurable, and that he would likely never have that feeling again. Those few moments of absolute bliss and removal of all the pain and stress that scarred him brought Arem a personality back; an honorable, loyal complacency with rare shreds of beauty and approval. Tearing a hole in reality, Arem forced his way through into the existence of Lorrann, a planet that had taken a different course as compared to Ven. Nearly a polar opposite, religion and magic had taken hold of civilization, creating a medieval-esque society where God, the Devil, and abstinence were the three absolutes in life. Devoid of the emotion of disgust, Arem was left to be content with his new homeworld. The aging effects of the station he had spent nearly 800 years in didn't seem to wear off as quickly as he had thought they would; later, Arem would find that the prolonged exposure had enabled his body to sustain itself and become nigh-immortal. Carefully and cautiously, Arem hid his exosuit from the station in a temple, assured that no one would happen upon it by what he referred to as his only true friend in that dimension, Xeran, the Monk of Abernaht. While Xeran was an extremely religious man, he also had a rare gene for Lorrann that separated his thoughts from the beliefs of those around him; while the Oranak's had been a true hive mind, Arem wondered if Lorrann had evolved to be nearly the same. Xeran was one of the Medon's, or Demon Worshippers, up until he had faked his identity in direct disobedience of his Lord, and taken up a new name and job as a keeper of a Temple. Demon Worshippers, as Xeran described, were usually children that didn't seem to latch on immediately to the idea of a Holy Leader, and thus, were quarantined up until a suitable age, where they were constantly monitered by a special police force known as The Royale. Suggesting that Arem find himself a new name and identity so as not to be suspicious, Xeran switched some papers through his connection of other Medon's (who, in their rebellistic nature, sought to keep the religious cults from being harmful to others) to enable Arem to become a Royale. The age of Arem over his course of 30 years as Royale earned him the nickname Ghost; he never seemed to be any different as the days went on. Any Medon's that The Ghost Royale found were directed to the network of Xeran, and most, if not all, were brought to a safe location by that group. The tagteam of Xeran and Arem eventually led to the collection of Medon's nearing 3000 people strong, a group of the strong and weak, fast and slow. All the meanwhile, the police forces dictated by a seemingly convienent God conducted a series of 'guided investigations' into Xeran and his temple, whilst the local townsfolk attempted to stir up drama and create a witch-hunt. Scared for the safety of the group and of Arem, Xeran committed suicide, breaking a series of laws that led to a full-scale investigation of his temple and his accomplices in any 'suggested' crimes. The evidence led back to a connection with a Royale, leading right into Arem. The Ghost more than earned his title, by escaping the Royale cleaning and managing to save the entire Medon population. Christened as a hero by the Medon's, they held a meeting of nearly 2000 people and decided to announce to the world their presence and their intention. Revealing themselves as literal demons and firewielders, they attempted to negotiate a peaceful co-existence with the people of Lorrann, but to no avail. Without any time to prepare, a cultist militia overran the Medon camp that The Ghost had set up, killing a majority of the group. Outlash from every Medon on the planet sparked a firey civil war that lasted only 3 months, but at the end, had burned Lorrann into a charred hulk of a planet. In one final effort to purge all so-called light from the world, the Medon's created a hellish blast of fire that engulfed Lorrann, charring every living being on the surface, all save for Arem wearing his exosuit armor. They had given him prior warning of the heat spike, and while Arem could only sit back and watch yet again, the followers of Xeran were turned to ash. While the tiniest of emotions peaked through The Ghost's firm face, the reality of religion would come true. God and the Devil himself met before Arem, acknowledging his existence. In an ironic turn of events, it was revealed that every spoken word in the biblical translation that Lorrann had transcribed had been correct; the planet of Lorrann had been a flat surface, God was an actual entity, and Arem was the last living being in a dimension for a second time. The Two Gods went to on to explain that they were figments of the imagination inside of Arem's head; they had been there on Ven, and through the Oranak wars, and through every event up until this point. The Devil described how he and God had shared a relationship near two lovers, as it seemed, with God being the female of the couple and the merciful, kind-hearted Soul, while he himself was the brute, harsh reality that most were scared to realize. Both of them continued in saying "We no longer want to control you, seeing as you have controlled your fate rather well. If you ever need a decision made, please, by all means, we're just inside. A light tap on the shoulder to the self, if you might. And as a reminder, the existence of us would allow the existence of an undead to occur; for this existence of yours to end, you'll need to slay the rest of existences. I wish you luck. Take this, as you seem to lack a form of melee weaponry." [ - The sword Llelaj, discussed later in the Items category. - ] With that being said, the bodies of every individual of Lorrann rose to walk again. Without a doubt in his mind, Arem began to read the archives again, intent on reaching the end. The tear opened just above a pine tree, 13 miles east of San Joacquin, California. Landing firmly on his feet, The Ghost Royale looked around at the forest beside him, and the quaint house just off in the distance. A short walk later, he noticed a boy through a window, playing a game of some sorts. Noticing the armor that the fictional character was wearing, as well as the name the boy had seemed to have chosen, The Ghost changed his own appearance to match that of the game. Surely it would blend in just as well as any other appearance. Walking past the house, Vayes made his way towards the nearest military station he could find on his scanners; this dimension surely did not end. Personality: With the destruction of every dimension he's appeared in, leaving him as the lone survivor, Vayes has managed to cope with depression, anxiety, and anger beyond any human or alien capacity, at least to the individual standpoint. In doing so, he has removed all emotion save for a complacent half-smile, that according to those who knew him, meant that he was honorable, trustworthy, and approving of good will. On the flipside, his general understanding that all things come to an end leads him to be susceptible to idea's that would prevent an end; sometimes his choices as to what the world should adhere to aren't what he intends them to be. While he's quiet and intentionally blunt, his humor gradually develops as he grows closer to an accomplice. Obviously, he's scared to make connections for the fear of losing them at the end of existence is prevalent in an unconscious state (he won't acknowledge the feelings unless under some form of hypnotization or mind control). His final, defining goal is to find a dimension that does not end. Ergo, the Endseeker. |
The Powers and Weaknesses |
(All characters can be as powerful as they want, as long as they are balanced with proper weaknesses.) Powers Limited Shapeshifting [Mastery of each available Form, to a limit in number of Form]: Ability to shift from multiple combat styles/gear/weaponry in a matter of seconds, with 3 currently 'saved' kits, up to a maximum of 4. If any more kits than 4 are to be added, one of the existing must be deleted, removing all weapons, combat knowledge, and attributes that that kit brought along with it. Powers Per Kit [Enhanced Physical and Aim-Arem][Enhanced Durability and Melee Combat-GhostRoyale][Invisibility and Melee Prowess-Vayes]: Arem: Exosuit training allows for extended jump, increased speed, very limited flight (via jetpack), underwater protection, enhanced strength, and access to the weapons provided by the exosuit, including: - Recharging Plasma Rifle (nothing special, really, just a good rifle) - Recharging Plasma Pistols - Carbon Extending Knife (can extend to a sword, made of pure carbon, decently durable and never needs sharpening) - Military training also remains with Arem kit equipped, meaning Super Aim is the main buff here. The Ghost Royale: Exosuit Armor is much more durable than basic exosuit, and adds mass, allowing for momentum carry via running or falling. One man wrecking crew. - Llelaj (special sword that is nigh-indestructible [essentially made of imagination, but then created because of last being in dimension paradox] but doesn't cut through everything [I'm new to the site, not to OP stuff]) - Kite shield made of the same material as the armor Vayes: Exosuit mastery through experience in two different dimensions allows for greatly enhanced jump, greatly enhanced speed, enhanced senses, invisibility, gliding abilities (not flight), and extremely enhanced reaction times. - Mastery of multiple fighting techniques through 3 dimensions is available with this kit equipped, as well as the ability to learn them at advanced rates (muscle memory enhanced, not super intelligence). Weakness(es) Identity Loss: Changing from kit to kit in a fast period of time can cause brain damage over the course of time; the more uses in less time, the more severe the mental effects are. The general range of that time is the amount of time it takes to re-adjust to a new kit; meaning changing from Arem to Ghost Royale two or three times in the span of twenty seconds is going to result in a decent headache; the more it progresses, the worse it gets, etc. etc. However, it does not stack over time, meaning the use of the exosuit at regular intervals over the course of 1 year will not affect anything in any way. Just short-term changes. Not to mention removing the exosuit will, of course, render Arem as a single, weak human being. Weakness Per Kit: Arem: Easily the weakest mental state, Arem can be re-convinced that emotions and depression are prominent events that can occur in his life, and they will affect how the current dimension turns out to be. Mentioning of conquest through fear also is a slight trigger, though just mentioning or speaking of an invasion similar to the Oranak's will only make Arem nervous and unsettled. This state is also the weakest in melee combat, with most of the power being focused in ranged artillery fire with the assault rifle equipped in the kit. Ghost Royale: Built as a tank, this kit is the slowest moving of the three and the most susceptible to flanks or overturns. Remaining stationary is the idea for The Ghost Royale, and holding your location through a very steadfast defense and counterattack. The major weakness is the lack of any ranged attack, and with the limited mobility due to the heavy suit of armor, The Ghost can be easily flanked or out manuevered. Vayes: This kit is built most for mobility and stealth, meaning it doesn't have the firepower to do a large load of damage or take a lot of hits if it's found out or caught out. Again, there is a lack of any major ranged attack, leaving most of the fighting to melee combat (if you want to play into its strengths). RP Mechanics RP Mechanic(s): Items/Minions Physical Priority Vayes: Reaction, Agility, Strength, Endurance. Arem: Strength, Endurance, Agility, Reaction. The Ghost Royale: Endurance, Reaction, Strength, Agility. |
