Name: M997-E "Lawbringer"
Abilities:Telescoping Railgun. Housed in Nova’s right arm. When activated, the arm breaks open, allowing the gun to extend to its full 5’ length (shoulder to muzzle). Electromagnetic projection fires a caseless tungsten carbide rod at 7 times the speed of sound (2400m/s). Dense matter travelling at such speed carries a colossal amount of kinetic energy: what it hits, it obliterates. Maximum effective range is about 150 miles. Due to its destructive power and high likelihood of overpenetration, the Lawbringer cannot be used without a verified firing solution. Furthermore, it is meant for use only on vehicles, buildings, and as a last resort against extreme metahuman threats. Firing generates immense heat and requires copious amounts of power. 1 post charging time; 4 post cooldown after use.
Description: The M997-E Lawbringer is a greatly scaled-down version of the railgun first fielded by the Navy in 2016. It is a working prototype developed by Lockheed-Martin for use by specialized units in the military (currently no plans for a civilian model). Caen Corp. first had Nova demonstrate the weapon at the Tonopah Test Range in Nevada, where detractors pointed out (somewhat rightly) that Caen “built a woman on top of a gun”. Emits an ascending crystalline note when charging; fires with a shriek.

Name: Ablative Barrier
Abilities: Energy shield consisting of supercharged photons. Hard Light emitter in Nova’s left forearm condenses these photons into the shape of a disc or half-sphere. When held out front, coverage area is from thigh to neck. Shield moves with her arm and can be displaced up to 30’ from her person, lending its protection to others. Attacks above a magnitude of 3 deplete the barrier; thus, it can only absorb two hits at magnitude 4 or greater. An attack greater than its magnitude immediately destroys it, but mitigates damage in doing so. 2 post use, 3 post cooldown once deactivated. Cannot be used with Negotiator (see below).
Description: The science behind Hard Light—light waves condensed to within 2 nanometers, sustained in an electromagnetic field—has driven force field technology for some time now. The Ablative Barrier is a version of personal shield generator (PSG) currently in use by several security agencies worldwide. Nova’s variant is tank-grade, as her plasma reactor allows it a greatly enhanced power supply. Like most PSGs, it appears as a flat plane of shimmering air, ringed by an incandescent energy field. Can be made opaque by widening the light waves, increasing illumination. Collapses into a shower of sparks when disabled.

Tier 7
Name: CC44 "Siren"
Abilities: Nova’s primary armament. Inconel alloy telescopic rod with weighted ends. Kinetic impact is enhanced by a series of small internal vibromotors located near the ends of the shaft. Variable length enables it to function as a baton, quarterstaff, or anything in between. A retractable monofilament blade increases its utility further, transforming it into a pilum, glaive, or spear. Length is 18” when fully compact; the shaft extends up to 8’, with the blade increasing that length to nearly 10’ in total. Diodes along the surface act as an interface module for the AI when gripped, allowing for seamless switching of modes. The Siren is the only weapon in Nova’s loadout that is not integral to the Mk.11 chassis; when not in use, it magnetizes at the small of her back.
Description: Caen Corporation developed this weapon in-house. It was specifically designed to compliment Nova’s enhanced combat abilities. Its variable nature allows a wealth of melee options, as well as diverse applications of force, from LTL to extreme prejudice. Originally designated the CC44 Preon, after a type of star originating from supernovas. Earned the nickname “Siren” after its first public demonstration, as the vibromotors’ soft hum becomes a hollow chord that “sings” when swung. Nova herself likes “Siren” better, and she’s quickly learned how to whirl out melodies to several popular songs.

Name: CC98k Smart Claw
Abilities: Grapple line. Aerodynamic titanium dart attached to a rewindable myomeric cord, launched from beneath Nova’s right wrist. The grapnel’s tines extend when fired and enter a self-propelled spin, darting wherever Nova directs it. The rope itself is linked to the AI, acting as a prehensile limb. Myomeric fiber is rated for weights of up to 800lbs. Cord length is 100ft. A 12 amp electrical current can be directed through the line to pacify snared targets; 4 post cooldown between shocks.
Description: This utility has applications as a rope, lash, or snare. Can be used as a swing line, supplementing mobility.

Name: NovaTech™ Cybermancy Suite
Abilities: A collection of programs written by Nova, enhancing her utility when connected to a network. Programs are constantly being updated on the fly. Allows for secure and rapid browsing, hacking, and virus creation/distribution. Includes firewall with 1028-bit encryption, proxy generation, and intrusion countermeasures (IC).
Description: Like most electronics built in the last 10 years, the Mk11 chassis comes with wireless network capability. As an AI, Nova allocates a piece of her consciousness to the grid; she is constantly interfacing directly with the internet and various satellite streams. Her ability to do so gives her a marked advantage over “meatspace” decks.

Tier 6
Name: Angel Flare
Abilities: Pyrotechnic flare. Countermeasure against homing missiles. Deploys a flaming burst of superheated material (Magnesium/Teflon/Viton) in a 50’ arc. Launched from internal compartments along Nova’s back and outsides of calves. Can be weaponized if necessary. 1 use per thread.
Description: Nova’s cooling system usually keeps her within human temperatures, but combat can cause her to run hot. After protracted use of her weapon systems, she will likely become the hottest individual in the area, increasing her vulnerability to heat-seeking systems. These flares are intended to give such systems a decoy to chase, similar to chaff used by fighter jets. Called “Angel Flares” because of the signature shape of dispersal.
INT Allocation: 6

Name: Apollyon Defensive Technologies "Negotiator"
Abilities: Semi-automatic 10 gauge shotgun, sheathed in Nova’s left forearm. Three types of ammunition. Flechette rounds profile a spread of tungsten darts, with a maximum effective range of 30 yards. Armor piercing slugs are rifled for longer range, up to 200 yards. Rubber slugs have a similar range, and are meant for LTL operations. Arm slides apart when in use, similar to the Lawbringer, although she can bend her arm when using the Negotiator, and its length is far shorter (36 inches from elbow to muzzle). Circuits to the Ablative Barrier are separated when left arm is opened; the Barrier and Negotiator cannot be used simultaneously. Ammunition is nanoforged and ostensibly infinite, but at least 6 rounds must be fired before a new load is generated. 3 post cooldown after 6 shots; 1 type of ammunition between reloads.
Description: When Dr. Caen needed a secondary gun for his woman-shaped weapons platform, he turned to his colleagues at Apollyon Defensive Technologies. ADT had been a very early investor back when Caen Corp. was but a startup, and had seen an excellent return in short time. Unfortunately, the weapons manufacturer fell on hard times in the early ‘00s due to shifting laws on international trade, barely managing to keep from going bankrupt last decade. Since ADT was among the first to believe in his dream, Dr. Caen maintained a soft spot for the company and its people. Though they had’t designed a new weapon since 2004, Dr. Caen subsidized them, tasking them with conceiving an anti-metahuman shotgun for the Mk11. The Negotiator was the result. ADT has already begun milling a handheld version. With their weapon receiving widespread exposure on Girl of Tomorrow, it is ADT’s hope that sales will skyrocket. The barrel of the Negotiator thus reads ADT-036B, the weapon’s designation once it hits military and civilian markets.

Name: CC17 Bola Launcher
Abilities: Three conical weights connected by a length of cord. Used to entangle targets, usually at the legs. Weights are projected in a spinning triangle configuration. After five feet of travel, a secondary charge expands the weights and exposes the cord, allowing it to wrap on contact. Cord is of slender, high-tensile wire meant to discourage struggling. Once target is snared, Nova can remotely command the Bola to deliver a single electric shock at up to 6 amps. Stored in Nova’s right leg and fired from the knee, which slides apart to expose launcher. Leg must be picked up and knee must be aimed. Projectile is non-aerodynamic; maximum range is 50ft. Due to its bulk, ammunition is limited. 3 uses per thread.
Description: Bolas are really good at what they do. Why reinvent the wheel? The Bola Launcher is meant to supplement the Smart Claw, for situations in which multiple targets must be restrained.

Name: UtilEyes
Abilities: Continuous recording at 8k tri-dimensional resolution. Events she witnesses can be played back on any screen with WiFi functionality, or compiled into a video file for distribution. Provides flare compensation. Alternate vision modes are available: 20x distance magnification, 1000x microscopic vision, and alternate spectrum viewing (thermographic, infrared, ultraviolet, night, x-ray).
Description: Nova’s eyes pack the same functionality as a set of hi-grade Mil-spec goggles, minus the bulk. Vision mode cycling is accentuated by a triple blink.

Tier 5
Name: CC3 Commlink
Abilities: Allows Nova to monitor, jam, and decrypt multiple radio frequencies. Unencrypted signals can be hijacked. Has phone capability. Also enables voiceless communication, eliminating the need to speak into a microphone.
Description: Much of the Mk11’s metal framework serves as an antenna. Nova maintains a vigilant presence in the airwaves, just as she does with networks. Her “thoughts” can override these signals, presenting the receiver with any medium of her choice. This feature grants a level of operational silence beyond that of a transdermal microphone.
INT Allocation: 5

Name: UtilEars
Abilities: Records hi-fidelity audio and enhances hearing capability. Picks up frequencies ranging from 10Hz to 100kHz from up to 200yds away. Aural filtering can “zero in” on specific sounds. Includes sonar module.
Description: Nova’s ears are equivalent to top-tier shotgun microphones, but with a greater degree of control. Sonar pings are emitted from several tiny slits located behind her ears.

Name: SimSensors
Abilities: Simulates the ability to taste, touch, and smell. Allows Nova to determine chemical composition of objects by interacting with them. Can sense radiation levels as well. Ranges of sensitivity are otherwise within human levels.
Description: An array of sensors, allowing Nova to experience sensations. Calibrated to perfectly mimic a healthy human’s sensory perceptions, which explains Nova’s affinity for cheesecake.

Name: CC36 Grenade Launcher
Abilities: Stored in Nova’s left leg; grenades are launched in a manner similar to the Bola Launcher. Two types of grenades: fragmentation and riot. Frag grenades are standard yield: kill radius of 15ft, injury radius of up to 40ft. Riot grenade disperses a vomiting agent with effects similar to CS/Tear gas; exposure to fresh air provides immediate relief. Grenades are fired from the left knee in a parabolic arc. Range of 400yds; arming mechanism doesn’t activate until the grenade has flown at least 30yds. Can also be dispensed from Nova’s left hip, allowing use as hand grenades. 3 uses of each per thread.
Description: Nova’s grenade launcher is modeled after the Milkor MGL, a revolver-type launcher employed by the US Marines since 1983. Its mechanism is shared by another Caen weapon system, the CC-101 REAP. The grenades themselves are a 40mm variant that can be thrown in close quarters.
INT Allocation: 5

Name: Voice Modulator
Abilities: Industry-standard vocal mimicry and distortion. Gives Nova perfect pitch, increased volume (up to 100 decibels), and uncanny vocal impersonation. Recorded or captured voices can be played back or imitated. Accurately emulates animal sounds.
Description: In addition to its special features, the voice modulator grants Nova the simple ability to speak. Incidentally, it also lets her sing in autotune unaided.

Tier 4
Name: Hitachi SK-Xtreme Hovercam
Abilities: Flying camera, about the size and shape of a rugby ball. Conducts principle filming for Girl of Tomorrow. Durable enough to withstand most environmental conditions. Signal is beamed to studio via satellite for capture and editing.
Description: Orbits Nova 24/7. Though it is her constant companion, she has little control over it. Video is first sent to Caen Corp. for review; any footage to be aired is subject to their edits.

Name: Acetylene Torch
Abilities: Industrial-grade torch for welding/cutting purposes. Stored in right index finger.
Description: Also starts fires and lights cigarettes.

Name: Infrared Smoke
Abilities: Streamlined smoke capsules, about the size of marbles. Dispensed from Nova’s right hip to be manually thrown or placed. Generates a large smokescreen that cannot be penetrated by IR vision or target designators.
Description: Along with flares, this is a countermeasure against heat-targeting systems. Obscures movements. Different colors are available.

Name: Holo-emitter
Abilities: Audiovisual tool. Projects 8k tri-dimensional information in a 12x24” space. Emitted up to 6” from right forearm.
Description: Sometimes, a picture is worth a thousand words. To get the point across, this holographic display packs some sweet graphics.

Name: Electric Lockpick
Abilities: Tool for opening tumbler-based locks. Titanium construction for increased durability. Stored in left index finger.
Description: Not all locks in 2020 are electronic.

Name: Tracer Dart
Abilities: Semi-transparent sticky dart about the size of a small sewing needle. Periodically transmits a radio signal that can be tracked using the Commlink. Stored in Nova’s left palm; can be fired (50ft range) or manually attached. Requires PC Permission.
Description: Used to track targets without their knowing.

The lawbringer seems like it can't be reasonably dodged and 150 miles is way too long a distance. You can't even see that far.

The ablative barrier needs a duration of usage and a stronger attack would pierce through it.

400 yards is too great of an explosive range for a grenade on the grenade launcher.

Added a one post charging time to Lawbringer, allowing for a change in situation.  Keeping 150 mile range because, well, it's a railgun.  You're right, she can't see that far.  If she misses, that round is going to ruin someone's day, somewhere, and that someone will probably be innocent.  All the more reason to exercise caution when using it.

Fixed Barrier to your specifications.  2 post use, 3 post cooldown.  Attacks that penetrate will now transfer the remainder of their magnitude.

400 yds is the grenade launcher's range, not the explosive radius of the grenade itself.  In rereading it, I can see how that wasn't made clear.  Fixed for clarity.
