Forces of Nature (Thistle)

Artemis ran through the wild, jumping over roots and other foliage. She was hunting. What was she hunting you may ask? Sadly nothing to great, only a small herd of deer. She even gave them a head start so she would have a bit of a challenge. Ever since she became a spirit of nature hunting had become dull. No game that could be found in the wild gave her the rush she craved. With in a matter of moments Artemis had caught up to the herd. It was a small herd, only 3 deer in total: a buck, a doe and fawn. Artemis didn't need the entire herd only one. She targeted the buck and picked up the pace. With in a matter of moments the space between the herd and herself diminished to almost nothing. Artemis jumped in the air, kicking of a tree to get some extra air time. She shifted into a wolf and landed on top of the buck, her fangs digging deep into the buck's neck. The buck fell to the ground and rolled a bit, Artemis still biting on to the buck. Artemis tore out a chunk of neck and will in a matter of moments the buck was dead. She pulled out her choice of meet and then shifted back into a human form. Sitting on a near by log she chewed the raw meat, over all dissatisfied with her hunt.

A few scavengers popped up and began looking from a distance. Artemis just rolled her eyes and motioned to the buck. The scavengers ran to the corpse and began to tear it up. Artemis didn't need the whole deer even thought she could probably eat the entire thing if she wanted. With in moments the corpse was picked clean and all that was left was the food Artemis was slowly eating. However the other animals where smart enough to know not to try and steal it from her. Even thought at first she felt honored when Fera made her the next elder spirit of beasts she didn't see how boring it could be at the time. Nothing held a rush for her anymore.

She liked it here. You couldn't smell the cars or smoke in the air. There wasn't a single human in sight. The trees were tall enough to block vision of any cities. They originally weren't but Thistle changed that. Birds all around. She extended her hand and a tiny sparrow swooped down and landed on her finger. She smiled before allowing it to eat some tiny seeds she'd grown on the tips of her nails. She liked it here. The bird flew off, and she closed her eyes. An echo. Several. Feet were sprinting, the earth told her so. Dozens of feet. Hooves and paws. The wolves were hunting, an event she enjoyed watching. You could learn a lot from the ways animals hunt, it was something they'd been doing for their entire lives. She opened her eyes once more, and they swirled a dark red colour. Several flowers near the scene of the hunt perked upwards, and began to face the direction. She saw everything.

A human. And it was eating part of a carcass... How bizarre. The plants turned their gaze to reveal a dead buck beside her, that's flesh had been torn asunder. She gasped, brow furrowing. The dark red receeded from her eyes and she turned, with a vengeance. Her body sank into the ground while infront of the girl feasting on flesh, A single rose grew. It's petals opened and spread downwards, before a wild abundance of plant life sprung out around it. From this curled mess of nature, her figure rose once more.

Ivy covered her wrists and legs, while wood swirled and coiled around her torso in such a manner to cover her delicates. Thick vines, coated in large thorns swirled around her ankles creating an intimidating figure. Her eyes glared mercilessly at the scruffy female before her, before she pointed a finger in it's direction, the tip a foot away from her face.

"Who are you?"

Something smelt good... like really good. Artemis' nose was going a smile a minute. The smell was weird but at the same time Artemis really just wanted more of it. Artemis loved the smell even if she had no idea what it was. It made her feel weird though. But not in a bad way. She tossed the remains of the raw venison she was eating to the other animals and was about to get up and try to find the source of smell. But then the source came to her. And it smelt even better up close. A young looking woman stood in front of her. The woman asked who she was, seemly angry. Although that fact went right over Artemis head. She was to interested with her smell. The woman's appearance didn't bother Artemis either. Artemis really never saw much use for clothes when she could just shift into a wolf to stay warm. At this point it was just a habit she had gotten into when living with humans for a bit.

"I am Artemis." said Artemis looking at this woman in confusion. Although it wasn't all confusion on her face, wonder was there as well. Artemis got up and walked around the woman, smelling her as she walked. The strange scent was definitely coming from her. The smell was entrancing.

"Who are you? Why are you in my forest?" asked Artemis. To Artemis it didn't mean much. She was a spirit of nature and these where her hunting grounds. Artemis continued to sniff over Thistle. Wondering if  this woman tasted as good as she smelt.

While she paced around her, Thistle followed Artemis' movements with her eyes. What was she doing. Thistle could hear something, and she raised her brow. This little human was... sniffing her! She scoffed and some roots curled around her ankles, lifting her into the air away from the nose of the intruder. However, Thistle's face contorted whenever she claimed that she was the owner of the forest.


"This forest is not yours..." She pointed her finger at the imposter, and tilted her head back ever so slightly. "It is in my service, under my command. I am it's ruler, I am it's Queen." The roots which held her up pushed her further into the air and she pushed her hands into the air. "And you will kneel."As soon as the words slithered from her lips, flowers immediately blossomed on any exposed grass, turning the green floor of the forest into a colourful blur of red, white, yellow, liliac and even purple. She smiled, and waited.

Whoever this woman was, she seemed delusional, disorientated, vulerable and impressionable. Her forest. The audacity!

Artemis had no idea what a queen was but it seemed like someone who thought they where above everyone else. It seemed Artemis would have to show them otherwise. She did look impressed as the nature around them sprung into life. Could the woman be doing this? It would explain why she thought so high of herself.

"Even a queen must bow to a spirit of nature." said Artemis with a smirk. She reached out to the the animals in the surrounding area, most that were hidden emerged into the clearing. All the animals seemed to be pissed and their anger directed towards the strange planet lady. Even though she did smell quite nice. Artemis didn't remain human for long as she shifted into a rather large wolf. Artemis' copper fur stood out compared to the rest of the animal's colors. Especially the other wolves that had emerged from the woods, who grey colors paled in comparison to her bright copper color scheme. Artemis also stood quite a bit taller then the other wolves. But not just wolves showed themselves. Other wild life like scavenger animals and other hunter animals emerged from the area. Even some hawks appeared.

This woman though this was her forest. Such nonsense. She fought dragons before. How hard could it be to fight a single woman. However Artemis wouldn't attack this woman if she stood down. She had been a good mood today. Besides she smelt so nice, it would be a shame to ruin it.

The expression on Thistle's face mutated. It didn't turn into one of joy, but the look at her face was certainly far more pleasant than it had been before. She looked at her fingers, to the large brigaid of snarling animals and then directly at the woman who had turned into a wolf. "You have dominion over them? Hmmm..." Maybe there was more to this sniffing little freak she'd found in her forest.

The flowers that were scattered over the floor rapidly grew up many of the creatures legs, attempting to hold them in place and stop any real combat before it began. Lowering herself to the wolf woman's level she narrowed her eyes. "Perhaps we have more in common than I had thought..." She smiled. Had she perhaps found someone to help her finally take the Earth back from the filthy paws of man. While she her current state was peaceful and she even had a smile on her face, she had slightly more maleficent plants in her head if this beast decided to attack. If this beast took an aggressive stance, the flowers curled around the animal's legs would harden and crush their ankles to pulp. If this beast lashed out, she would bury it alive.

She tilted her head and waited for a response. She couldn't communicate with it in this state so acting somewhat unhostile seemed like the only way she could signal it to revert back to it's much uglier human form. Her hands were balled into fists. If this beast decided to remain friendly and possibly become her ally, she would try and forget the fact that it had ordered her to kneel, although... that sounds unlikely.
