Talking to a shadow (Red Tide.)

It had been three days after Portland. Marcus made it back to chicago by joyriding on a plane and by joyriding he terrorized the passengers and snuck into the pilot's room where he said over the microphone that they will be taking a short trip into the water and made the plane go down for a small while yet everyone made it off the plane alive if only scared. Dark was a little disappointed that their was no crash but enjoyed the thrill's that he and Mark planned. It was the first time they spent an hour planning how to scare people and Dark could swear he was enjoying himself with Marcus, even if he wouldn't admit it.

So Marcus split off the plane before the security arrived and went to the first place he thought of. Arriving he brought some fried rice he moved to the bridge he and the giant meta fought on to see the damage which was a little bad. Broken cables and smashed roadwork, If anyone didn't know about him he was surely known now. The man in the mask that can summon the shadows to fight with. Moving to a civvie he asked a simple question. "What happened to the giant meta and the shadow guy." The man was surprised by Marcus's appearance but gave an answer. "Yes the Giant died and the shadow guy got thrown." Marcus thanked him for the infomation and moved on. He was quite happy, he was pretty sure no one knew who he was but some normal person in a hoodie but in his mask he was known as the guy with shadows.

Lucius was back in Chicago, his motive for being here was a meta human one of his fellow society members told him about. Razor described him as about 18, brown hair and hazel eyes, yet his most defining attribute was his ability to weaponize shadow itself. A great asset if such a being could be controlled, the only problem was he attacked razor, seemingly helping a local hero. Dealing with such types was getting rather annoying, but it wasn't beyond Lucius' manipulative capabilities. He heard about a local news story, one that involved a giant meta human and another that could control darkness, so what better place to start then the place it happened?


He drove his very elaborate red mustang to the bridge where the event took place, wearing street clothes but still packing around his more concealable gadgets. The rest of it was in the back of his car if things got too dicey, but he had a feeling he wouldn't need them. We wore a black t shirt and brown leather jacket, and what some would call skinny jeans. He casually walked along the bridge searching for any noticeable glues in the damage, kneeling next to a large crater he began looking over it rather closely. It didn't seem to hold any leads, so he stood up and began walking back to his car, he would check the news station next to see if they knew anything more about the meta.

Marcus was going to walk away when he saw a mustang. A red Mustang, it sparkled in his eyes and he moved towards it. A finger slid on the hood and he wandered who could own such a beauty.

"This is a very nice car. Whoever owns it is a rich guy." He said before moving away from it and looking around. He saw someone that he didn't recognize from before. He guessed this was the guy who owned it.

As he returned to his car he saw a young male touching the hood of it, when he got close the male commented on the quality of the vehicle. Lucius smirked and then spoke "which is why i wouldn't have you touching it" He really didn't care, it was armored and quite replaceable. yet he still liked to toy with humans, he found them quite amusing and he might as well put on a decent cover.

Marcus heard the owners commit and laughed. "Sorry, never been a fan of cars but some are just good looking to me." He turned to get a better look at the man. Under his hoodie he hoped the man couldn't see his face. "You, a undercover cop. You seemed interested on what happened to that bridge?" Marcus joked to the man

He knew he shouldn't have looked to closely with all these ants running around, now he had a kid asking questions. Lucius wasn't the type to just leave at this moment, it was a suspicious person that was a loose end. "Mustangs will do that too you. A cop? no, I'm interested in metahumans, i find them quite fascinating" Lucius said to the kid with the first excuse that poped into his head.

"Metahumans. They are quite interesting. Marcus said with a laugh. Think this human would be interested in us? Dark said to Mark but he ignored him. "Well, I'm quite sure the Shadow guy killed that giant meta. So I don't see anything interesting." Marcus said to the man a little intrigued.

"There is plenty, do you know anything about what happened here? i see you referenced their powers" now that he thought about it, the kid fit the description, without the whole shadow thing that is. He also seemed to know a bit about what happened, his man may have just fell right into his hands.

"Mate, I got the whole front row to what happened." Marcus said to him. "It ended with the giant guy getting killed and the shadow guy getting home runned over to Portland." Marcus said with a laugh. "But, you didn't hear this from me. A meta with shadow like powers and a demonic voice was said to be terrorizing a plane that landed here. So its possible hes back in town." Marcus said to him before turning to the bridge again and thinking why he like's metas so much.

At this point Lucius knew it was the shadow guy everyone was talking about. The kid bragged about crashing a plane, he might just be the type he wanted after all. "Look, stop playing around, i know its you and I have a few things to ask" even if it wasn't, what bad would it do to accuse a random kid?

"Know it's me." Marcus said with laugh. "Fine. fine, you caught us. Marcus said but ended it with his mask pulling over his face and he could remove his hoodie. "You can ask away, Names shadow by the way. You?" Marcus said in his demonic voice.

Meta, you think? Dark asked even if he knew he wouldn't get an answer for some time.

The male finally admitted it, who knew finding such people was so easy. "What do you mean we? and i could have guessed shadow was your name, you might want to come up with a new handle. Basically I've come looking for you because i have a little group i think you might be interested in, what is your opinion of humans? Lucius would pull a little out of him at a time before dropping the big question on him, if this person was indeed a hero he would need to be eased into it as not to scare him off.

"Drop shadow, nah, keeps me hidden. And what do I think of humans. Well I find them useful.

I find them fun

"I use to be human, until I died so my opinion on humanity is quite good and what I mean by we.... You don't want to meet him." Marcus said as he looked at an onlooker who got the vibe to move along.

I think I might like this guy.

Lucius listened to the kid before speaking himself "What? you possessed or something? seems likely with that voice of yours. I also used to be human, however i believe every race runs its course and that it should be replaced soon after by the next stage of evolution. Its how we all got here, and it can't be denied" Lucius found himself spewing his believes again as he seemed to with most people who questioned them, but here it was needed to see if the boy was a suitable recruit

"No the mask has a filter that makes my voice fancy and I see what your saying." Marcus said as he created a shadow like chair and sat down on it before making another for the man. "I died a few years ago and met this wonderful being who brought me back to life he rest in here." Marcus said while pointing to his head.

Dark took this as a little cue and spoke in his voice that was not anything human or on this world. "Hello creature." He said. His voice booming from Marcus yet still giving Marcus a small chill up the spine. "True, we are evolving but... I don't see it as the next stage in evolution."
