Escaping New York - Page 2 Empty Re: Escaping New York

Post by Dissonance July 26th 2014, 7:13 am

Dissonance was still listening to the boy speak, even though he doubted there was much left to hear. However, something peaked his interest in what the boy said, not the bit about meta-humans being responsible for how human’s had treated them; that bit was juvenile and laughable. The part catching his interest was the part about his vendetta being with a human smuggler who had “A large army.” This sounded like a very high profile crime ring, which would likely draw a lot of publicity if massacred. Dissonance was not one to go seeking fights that did not concern him, but he was an opportunist and here he saw opportunity to send a message to people of the superiority of his kind.

Dissonance continued to ponder what Thomas had said as he watched the boy go to work on the structure that was blocking their way. It was not a quick ability taking about 30 seconds to charge to an appropriate range, although maybe that was because of the unexplained injuries he had suffered. The metal began to liquefy before his eyes slowly dripping at first before melting entirely to a shiny pool on the ground that again solidified almost instantly. Dissonance picked up the boys improvised crutches and passed them through the gap that he had created, before continuing through himself.
“I want to make it clear; I am not doing what I do for the sake of killing. I kill for a purpose and I will not cause the death of a meta-human, regardless of how much they are in my way,” Dissonance continued to lecture the boy as they reached the roof of the building, which was reasonably large and flat, with very little structural damage and only a few objects strewn about. There was still blood dripping from various cuts and inflictions on Dissonance’s head where he had been the underdog in the fight, small drop marks being left upon his white suit as they fell. On the roof was a solitary security guard that had his handgun aimed directly towards them but trembling with fear. Dissonance turned back towards Thomas with a slight flick of his hand behind him, which caused his cape to catch a breeze and flutter in the air.
“FR-“ The guard attempted to shout something but it was too late as a sonokinetic blast ripped him off of his feet and sent him crashing to the roof of another building. Dissonance continued his conversation as if nothing had even happened.
“That being said, you are a meta-human and although you may not support my cause I would stand with you, should the time come when you need me.”

Escaping New York - Page 2 Empty Re: Escaping New York

Post by Dragonflizzle July 26th 2014, 11:59 am

The wind picked up several times as he waited.. Patrols gathered below him, and traveled off.. He thought he watched as someone carried off the unconscious man.. Pieces of the building dropped scattering the patrol down below.. Wingnut gut bored and jumped, not a large jump but enough to get him onto a taller building to his left.. While up there he was rewarded for his decision..

A man was obviously thrown off a roof and onto the cities crumbling rooftops.. "Booya" Wingut immediately jumped as far in that direction as he could.. Landing on a roof with five men.. Each was circling the buildings perimeters.. The impact of him landing on the roof alerted the men, who all turned to him and started shooting.. The bullets doing no damage simply bounced off useless.. Wingut shook his head, and simply ran to the first one faster than he could flinch.. And grabbed his neck in a Vulcan Grip.. Nocking him out almost instantly.. Wingnut Did a triple flip, to the side and landed next to another man. As he landed, he twisted down to a squatting positing while swinging his left leg around in a sweep.. Nocking the man to the ground with enough force to almost kill him.. The other men had gotten closer in the time.. All the while firing on wingnut.. Still no use.. Wingnut thru himself forward and punched one in the gut and Karate chopped the other two..

"sigh" Wingnut shook his head, and jumped again, this time within range of where he saw the man go on a unplanned flight.. Whoever had done it, must be gone by now he thought.. So instead of worrying Wungnut simply jumped into the building but landed silently on the roof.. Looked around..

And saw two men..

Escaping New York - Page 2 Empty Re: Escaping New York

Thomas reached the rooftop along with Dissonance, before he even realized there was a guard, Dissonance had him flying across the rooftop. Thomas was left with his jaw dropped, when Dissonance casually continued speaking, “That being said, you are a meta-human and although you may not support my cause I would stand with you, should the time come when you need me.”

"When the time comes eh?" Thomas had taken Dissonance's words as an acceptance to his invitation. And while he had missed most of his previous lectures, he was surely listening to this man now.

"Well, yes, he claims a large army to keep himself safe. You seem interested so I'll give to some backstory." He took a look around to see a setting that would resemble nearly every apocalyptic movie, aside from one section in the distance that had risen to be a beautiful rebuild of what Thomas had remembered from the past, as he gazed at this miracle, Thomas continued, "This guy I'm after, he ran a massive smuggling operation on the Atlantic coast, not to far from these ruins to be exact. He made his profits from bringing European product into America. He would deal with anything. Usually it was drugs, but he brought guns, prostitutes, illegal immigrants, you name it, at one point he was dealing with slaves as well." Basically, the law enforcements paid me to do investigations that they couldn't, due to legal restrictions. The deal itself was also illegal, but this was easier to hide, and held less consequence if they were caught." Thomas began to see that Dissonance was eager to hear where the personal vendetta part came in.

"Uh, listen, I'll cut to the chase, I eliminated his operations, so he sent man after man out to kill me. He still has two contract killers on my ass, there's no way he will stop either. He has more money than the president and plenty of I.O.U's to cash in on. This guy could send out a new assassin everyday if he so desired." Thomas sat down to ease his good leg for a bit. "You know, I can't get rid of him on my own, and I can't contact my usually partner right now. Your assistance could really help me out. I'm sure we can make some sort of deal?"

Escaping New York - Page 2 Empty Re: Escaping New York

Thomas kept speaking about this man that he had such a vendetta against and Dissonance surprisingly understood it. Vendettas were sort of a specialty of his as he had hunted down and ended every individual who had been part of his horrendous entrapment and experimentation. As they stood there on the roof Thomas began listing crime after crime that had been committed by this pathetic human and Dissonance actually took an interest, just to make sure he knew what he was getting into. He mentioned that he was assisting law enforcement which made Dissonance shudder at the thought of aiding a human run establishment, yet he was sure that if the feeling became to strong he could just kill all of them as well; he didn’t care for a payday. The boy sat down to rest his legs and, although impractical, Dissonance allowed it as the boy would be all but useless to him if he had no use of the leg.
“I’m sure we can make some sort of deal?” Thomas finished his tirade with a small plea to Dissonance. He didn’t seem to understand that Dissonance was not interested for the money; he was there to make a point and that was all.
“Boy, I have no interest in your monetary gain. You may do with that what you wish. I will help you but on a condition: Your target, your reward but we do it my way. If that’s agreeable to you then we need talk of it no more,” Dissonance had been very stern but welcoming in the way he said it, he had a peculiar way of seeming almost likable at times, for in the company of meta-humans he was not a dislikable person.

His radar sense was pretty much always functioning, so there was very little that he ever missed and at this moment something had intruded upon it. A very subtle fluttering and sound of movement through the wind.
“Ah, but before we indulge your passions…” as he reached this point in the sentence a man landed on the rooftop behind him, his landing was almost silent but to Dissonance almost was incredibly audible. “… we have something else to attend to.”
He turned to face the man with an almost amicable look on his face, he gauged that the man was probably meta having just jumped the rooftop so there was no need to be confrontational quite yet.
“Hello, to what do we owe the pleasure of your company?” He queried as he began walking toward the man. However, he was already charging up his acoustic energies as this could easily not work out for him. This was, after all, New York city.

Unfortunately Wingnut knew he was detected almost instantly as he touched the roof top.. Not like he could be quiet he was just in a gun fight a few rooftops away.. No way no one heard that.. One man had been talking it seemed about a deal, was all Wingnut could make out.. Before the serious man turned to him and greeted wingnut.. "you take yourself far to serious".. Wingnut circled the men looking at the wounded one for only a moment.. Wingnut didn't like the way these men gave off a bad vibe.. Wingnut hopped over a few rooftop appliances, steeped over some ruble, and did a triple flip onto a thin light post, that had ben bent over having been struck with a section of building.. It bent a little further as wingnuts weight rested on it bouncing a little.. "what bring you to new york in its hour of distress??..   Wingnut watch the two men intently.. The men these two had fought earlier were probably dead..

That thought range true as he studied the two men intently.. That would mean they couldn't be wingnuts friends.. How unfortunate.. The serious one seemed a little focused for his liking, he intent was clear before he spoke.. He was probably thinking stranger danger using whatever power at his disposal charging it.. At least that's what wingnut would have done if he was a bad person.. This one seemed like a bad apple.

"Monetary gain, hah! Your a class act comedian." Thomas knew Dissonance hadn't meant it as a joke, but he couldn't help but chuckle, "My friend, there is no money to be found in my revenge, this man hides his money so it's damn near impossible to find, and I have nothing to pay you with, so you need not worry about any 'monetary gain', what I meant by a deal is that I could assist you in a fight one day, or supply you with contacts, you know, a trade off of services." Thomas tried to sound as polite as he could, and after hearing Dissonance accept his offer, Thomas grew a bright smile. "Doing it your way is fine by me, just let me be the one to stick a knife down his throat."

Dissonance had turned his attention to a visitor, and Thomas' eyes quickly followed until they caught a glimpse of who had appeared. "God dammit, is there no rest for the sick?" Thomas had somewhat returned to his usual self, cracking jokes even in the worst of times. "I swear, if I windup breaking a leg, you're buying me a damn beer." As a sort of staring stand off took place between the newcomer and Dissonance, Thomas stumbled to his feet, still holding onto the crappy crutches and keeping most of his weight on his good leg. He tested his heat reflexes, they were still a little slow, but in the middle of any potential action, it would do just fine. "So are you the fight first, ask later type of guy? I just want to know how we are handling this."

Escaping New York - Page 2 Empty Re: Escaping New York

Post by Blacklight August 12th 2014, 9:12 am

There was a bit of a repartee going on but Dissonance was fully aware that it was all an act. The new man had already decided that him and Thomas were villains and it was inevitable that a fight would break out very shortly. He began to work closer to the ‘hero’ who had perched himself on top of a pole on the rooftop, he intended to speak just a little more first as Dissonance would not make the first move unprovoked, the man was after all Meta and there was no need for unnecessary violence against his own kind. Thomas was clearly ready for the fight, quipping jokes and taunting the other man clearly trying to entice some sort of reaction. Dissonance had slowly walked to a distance he was happy with, as it would allow him time to react should the other man attack him.

“As you can probably see my friend here has injured himself,” Dissonance began to answer the man’s question, “I intend simply to help him escape the city without any more interruptions by security and so on.” A small smirk began to form on his face; he knew the type of man he was faced with.
“You can either help us or try to get in our way,” He bent down to pick up the edge of a rope in one of his hands. Using it he would be able swing Thomas from one building to the next and fortunately they were not too far away from New York’s borders, where he would happily be able to fly the man to safety.
“Right, I have had enough interruptions for today,” He said while standing back to his feet with the rope in hand “Thomas, this way.” With that he turned his back on the other man and began walking toward the edge of the building.

Escaping New York - Page 2 Empty Re: Escaping New York

Post by Dragonflizzle August 12th 2014, 7:28 pm

The exchange was quick, the wounded man was quick to guard his reasons, with jokes and sarcasm. It only proved his suspicion, the man was hiding his intentions purposefully.

The bad apple did the same, but tried to seem like a good person. His treachery was revealed in the small crooked smile. Wingnut decided he didn't like the two men. Instantly that fast just a few words. But that didn't mean he was going to hurt them or even wish harm upon them. Yet the bad apple continued to act strangely. He began picking up a rope.

"Truly?", wingnut decided to stall these two men, people in a hurry were easy to read. So he did his equivalent of a simple quadruple front flip while tucking his head to his knees, his cape clutching the back of his legs flapping wildly, and landed just beyond them. He wasn't far from the bad apple "Allow me to assist" he said with his back turned. He then turned and bowed "please it would be my pleasure, to assist, but first may I have your names? and should I get in your way?" He then straightened the simple fact was he didn't like these two already, they did think stranger danger before even receiving his name. and both acted like a fight was about to happen. Wingnut was able to pick that out easily. A flex of a hand, the bad apple had walked further away in a attempt to gain distance. A close range fighter and a long range. Interesting.

Post by Timmmithy August 16th 2014, 3:49 pm

A little disappointed in Dissonance's decision to stray away from a fight, Thomas gritted his teeth and figured it was all for the best. While he was always in the mood for a good fight, Thomas knew he couldn't handle much with his leg. "Alright alright, we won't fight, you're the boss." Thomas grew a slight smirk as he watched Dissonance pick up a rope from the ground.

Following dissonance and his rope, Thomas noticed the shady visitor had made his way rather close to him. The man claimed to want to assist in the escape, despite clearly resenting both himself and Dissonance. In a hazed confusion, Thomas replied to his question, "Uh, call me Thomas, and he's Dissonance," Thomas pointed over to his partner in crime. "Listen, if your trying to pull some sort of devious trick on us, do it now, because we don't have time to sit around and wait. We've disabled a dozen guards, and its pretty well guaranteed there is more on the way. On the other hand, if you truly want to help, I'll be glad to buy you a beer afterwards." Thomas chuckled as he finished speaking, hoping that this man would not decide to kill him.

Escaping New York - Page 2 Empty Re: Escaping New York

Post by Dissonance August 23rd 2014, 8:12 am

It appeared that everybody was on board for helping the boy escape New York, which was a relief, as Dissonance really didn’t want to have to harm the other Meta-human individual and he wasn’t sure whether Thomas would be up for a battle anyway. He began to walk to the edge of the building to get this all done with.
“Right then-” suddenly and without warning a bullet flew through the air and soared through the flesh of Dissonance’s right thigh. It was not a fatal or even particularly harmful shot and only a little blood exploded from the wound. However, it was fairly painful and Dissonance let out a small gasp of pain and rage as it impacted. Since he would have fallen down to his knees if he didn’t he began to hover inches off of the ground, as when flying he would not need the use of his legs and could avoid further pain.

He looked to the direction the attack came from and saw a single guard trembling in fear with a pistol in his hand aimed at Dissonance. He was too angry to think straight and that never worked out well if somebody had just attacked him.
“GYAHHH” Dissonance shouted towards the man releasing the anger of his pain, however he also used it as an attack, amplifying his voice to an extreme level, which ripped into the man. The attack connected and slammed him back into a wall, which would have been sufficient enough to severely injure the man and yet the shout did not stop, the sound waves continued to pummel the man’s unconscious body with inhuman force. It was unclear when exactly the man was killed by the attack as he was pinned to the wall in a standing permission, nearly all bones broken as the wall behind him even began to break away under the force. In the last few seconds blood began pulsing from his nose and mouth and his flesh began to tear under the pressure, before the attack stopped and he slumped helplessly to the ground. An eerie silence followed the intense outburst of sound, which was only broken by a now calm Dissonance speaking again.
“Pathetic human,” He said with disgust “Now where were we…”

Escaping New York - Page 2 Empty Re: Escaping New York

Post by Dragonflizzle August 23rd 2014, 3:29 pm

Wingnut was horrified by the mans actions, for such a simple wound he had killed the man without restraint. The horror had to have been written all over his face. His body started reacting before before the man had killed the human. He started running as fast as he could, to stop dissonance. The human had only lightly wounded him. Wingnuts motions seemed so slow to him as he watched in equal slow motion the humans bones crumble under the mans assault. A long drawn out "nnnnnnoooooooo" escaped wingnuts lips. But unfortunately wingnut was only just too late. He had closed the distance between the two men very quickly jumping forward to do so. The roof braking under his feet as he launched forward. Bringing him into striking range. Just after dissonance finished talking. Wingnut ducked low while extending his elbow attempting to hit the man in the middle. He was already off the ground being able to fly. This attack would send the man flying at the very least, if not crush him. If it didnt land, wingnut would fallow it with a sudden motion sliding back and to his right out of the way. Fallowing that motion with another jump forward sliding across the roof using his years of martial arts training at the last moment launching a flying knee.

Thomas could sense that this was all going too well, and was reassured the moment dissonance let out a shout. He could only imagine the amount of guards who would be tracking the shock wave and making their way to this very rooftop. Refusing to stop Dissonance in fear that he would brainlessly unleash the sound waves in his direction, Thomas leaned over the adjacent ledge to watch for incoming guards.

At this point Thomas felt the floor below him shake. Wondering if it was Dissonances sound that was crumbling the rooftop, he turned to look in his direction. He saw the acrobatic leaping into the air to engage an attack. There was no chance that Thomas could make his way to Dissonance to block the incoming attack, even with a good leg, he wasn't a very fast runner. In a panic, Thomas picked up a stone, about the size of a golf ball and heated it to just below its molten form. He threw the stone at the enemy, hoping it would connect and throw his aim off.

Escaping New York - Page 2 Empty Re: Escaping New York

Post by William Easton August 26th 2014, 11:18 pm

William sped through the streets of NYC. Although he was regretful he never was here to help defend the city, he was happy it made a quick recovery, or whatever was quick for a nearly irreparable city. He was running at 65 mph, a speed he usually goes at when he's leisurely running through towns like this. With his electrified speed trail following him wherever he went. Getting past security was pretty easy, they never saw him coming. Sure it was kind of, unnecessary to do such a thing but they were going way to slow for him. He had a loud sound in the distance and a painful cry. William stopped for a moment wondering what it was. "Well someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed."  Easton stated snickering at his poor excuse for a joke. Whatever it was, it was far. It was very far, it was not long before he heard more cries from the same direction. Someone or something was attacking and hurting people.

"Welp, better get moving." He said to himself, shrugging his shoulders before  hearing a shout from behind him. "Stop right where you are!" The officer shouted, pointing his pistol at William. Easton smirked before running right next to the officer in a blink of an eye. He was using his shoulder as an arm rest. "Hmm. Nice aim. If I wasn't so fast I would've been a gonner." William stated before quickly striking a fast punch to the officer's right cheek, knocking him out instantly before he could react. He would not kill the man. He's not that type of person. When a person is beat, he is beat. What was the point in killing now? He continued to the source of the noise at 97 mph. At this speed he would get there in less than 2 minutes if not 1.
