The Legacy

Personality: Spellstone is a cautious soul, who is aware of the power he has been entrusted with, and is very careful about it. He's also prone to jealousy if someone gets something that he wants. Spellstone is also a very helpful person, who actually gets kicks from helping other people, although his helpfulness is kind of selfish, as he only does it so he can feel good about himself on the inside.

Secretly, Spellstone is also envious of other mage's powers as they may cast them and manipulate their magic without having to depend on an object like he does. Spellstone is also quite brave for someone to young, because sure, he may have to rely on an object to cast magic, but that doesn't mean he cannot kick your ass.

Romance wise, Spellstone has never really had a relationship before. His family were always to reclusive, and the only reason he left his home was to get fresh our in their gardens and to go to his private school. He's also always been somewhat shy when it came to that kind of attention.

While he may be shy when it comes to romance, he is very confident in everything else he does. He's got great self-esteem and loves the way he looks, so does not suffer from insecurities about his appearance, and he is confident in his Spellstone's powers, even though he cannot cast any magic without it.

History: Joshua's family have always been quiet and responsible people. However, while many saw their shyness and cautious nature to be that they are simply very reclusive individuals, however there was always a much more important purpose behind their caution. They were the occult guardians of one of the single most powerful magical artifacts ever crafted by man. They were the protectors of the Spellstone. An immensely powerful magical stone, capable of making anyone have the caliber of a master mage. And, like all members of their family, Joshua was shown the stone and told of his family's duty to guard the stone forever. However, they had their concerns about his competence and potential to do this task, as when they were all witches, wizards, battle mages and even a seer or two, he had nothing. Their finest Mystics could not sense his mana, nor should he project it in any manner. It seemed that the Ashling's family aptitude for magic had skipped a generation. His. But, after a heated debate they decided it would be unfair to exclude Joshua from their family's task, and that he could simply do surveillance and also help to organize shifts for protection, etcetera. He would make himself useful, in the end.

However, the more and more Joshua thought about it, the more unfair them protecting the stone seemed to be. It was somewhat selfish for them to keep an item which could save so many lives to themselves. Sure, evil would certainly try to grab it, but if they were to use the stone for good, then they could potentially obliterate evil. But, when he tried to propose this idea he was told, rather sternly, by his father that that plan would only make the stone more vulnerable to evil. Joshua disagreed, and was quietly stubborn about his own opinion. And the longer he left it the more he felt obliged to do something about it. And, when he finished his school at the age of 17 he decided that he was mature enough to look after and wield such a power himself. So, using the power granted to him with the mighty ability to control the protection rota, he put on his cousin to protect it one night. You see, he and his cousin were thick as thieves, and his cousin was just thick. So, he convinced his cousin that he was allowed to take the Spellstone.

Grabbing it, he immediately felt his body fill with amazing amounts of power. It was as if all the magic he had ever studied entered his body. And for once in his life he could control it. And it felt quite.... good. Before the rest of his family could reach him, Spellstone held the stone into the air and allowed his body to flicker away in a dark green flash. It was time for him to use this Spellstone for good.

Spellstone's spells.

Mechanic Spells:

Flight: Spellstone can fly using magic. Roleplay mechanic, to explain his flying.

Teleportation: Another role play Mechanic. A spell which allows Spellstone to teleport, however this is just a role play mechanic, it can't be used in combat it is just a means to enter and exit threads.

Basic Spells:

Surveillance Rune: Spellstone is able to place a bright green rune on surfaces which allows him to see and hear everything that is going on in the area around it. It's useful for eavesdropping and spying. Spellstone can place a maximum of 2 of these, but can only listen to one at a time. No cooldown.

Tracking Rune: Spellstone is capable of placing a bright purple glyph on someone's body which is about the size of a 50 pence coin. It allows him to track their mana and allows him to follow them, and know where they are in the world, but he can only track one person at a time. No cooldown.

Low Spells:

Shape changing: Spellstone can use mana to change how he looks, to a near flawless degree. (Equivalent of 4ABI shapeshfiting) When he changes his body flickers bright torquoise light for about a second. This shape shift does not run out until he wants it too, but it can only be used one per thread.

Mana Barrier: By channeling mana around him, he can form it into a sphere of protection, which is made up of golden energy with dark runes scratched into it. This forcefield lasts 2 posts and takes 4 to cool down. It can take up to 4 STR or ABI before cracking and breaking.

Medium Spells:

Mana bomb: By channeling mana into a sphere shape, Spellstone may control them and send them soaring towards enemies and structures, causing a medium sized explosion of magical energy. These are orange in colour. These last for one post, and take 3 to cool down. He may summon up to 5 of these per cast.

Spell absorption: Spellstone can absorb the spell of any sorcerer which is medium or lower in strength. This absorption lasts for 1 post and takes 3 to cool down. When using this, his Spellstone glows a bright pink.

High Spells:

Mana Mimicry: Spellstone can read and then emulate another sorcerer's high spells. When he does this he gains that spells duration and cool down, as well as it's strength. This spell stays with him throughout the entire thread and he can only copy one sorcerer's spells per thread. Both his high spells are this spell, meaning he can copy two. When he uses this his Spellstone and eyes glow red. In order to mimic someone's higher teir spells he must either see them in action, or touch the sorceror.

Ultimate Spells:

Demonology: Spellstone is capable of tapping into the dimension known as hell and forcibly yanking a powerful elemental demon from it's depths and forcing it into his servitude - The Omnimental.

Omnimental:

Mana Maelstrom: The Spellstone at the peak of it's powers is capable of sending dark magic into the sky in order to twist it and enchant it to form a massive storm: The storm causes purple lightning bolts to spiral down as well as tornadoes and very strong winds: As well as pouring purple rain and hail with a black and purple fog. This lasts for a maximum of 5 posts and can only be used once per thread. I have to have posted atleast 8 times before it becomes usable.
