Re: A blast from the past
Sam laughed before saying "Yeah that does sound pretty awkward... Having kids is something that a lot of people want to live with, its a once in a lifetime opportunity and I would like to have at least one... but perhaps this a discussion for another time." Sam pushed his chin underwater and started to make some bubbles, he then pushed himself away from the wall and tread some water in the centre of the pool, with a quick flick of a wrist Sam sent some water droplets towards Zoe, most of them splashing around her, but the thought was still there.
In the interest of not giving Zoe the satisfaction of splashing him back, he sunk under the water and swam around for a short while, wondering if Zoe was planning anything on the surface to get him back.

Re: A blast from the past
Zoe was splashed, causing her to splutter and wipe the water from her face. She bolted up right and glared at Sam, who just looked pleased with himself before vanishing underwater.
“That’s it,” She grumbled to herself. “No more Miss nice fangs.”
Zoe pushed away from the wall, vanishing underwater with a little more than a ripple. Her hair fanned out around her in a metallic orange color as she began her underwater hunt. She spotted Sam almost immediately and she could pick out scars running along his back. Briefly, she wondered what had happened. But, there was time for questions later. Making sure to keep out of line of sight she followed, considering what she should do.
Zoe could tickle him… drown him (But she was a little too fond of this mortal to do so), scare him half to death, or just lurk like a creeper. The demon grinned wryly while she considered her options, Hnng… what to do… what to do. Then she dove, tackling him around the waist before hauling him to the surface. Zoe let him haul oxygen into his lungs before attacking him playfully, clinging to his shoulders to stay out of reach.
“Surrender?” She asked, her hair plastered all over her cheeks, neck, and back.

Re: A blast from the past
Sam regretted his decision to splash Zoe not soon after he did it, he was focused on swimming around and was not paying too much attention to where Zoe was, but he could not see her on the surface of the pool which meant she must have been stalking him under the water, he just couldn't see where she was. He found out not soon after though as she attacked him from above which he was not expecting, she wrapped herself around his waist and hoisted him up and out of the water, giving him an opportunity to catch his breath, he swiped his hand down his face to rid it of water and he sent his hand through his hair again to stop it from dripping. Zoe had her hands grasped onto his shoulders so he couldn't reach her, he did not need to have to turn around though.
Sam took one final look around before saying "I have never been one for surrendering" Sam dissapeared in a cloud of smog and reappeared behind Zoe, his body suddenly entering the water caused several ripples and the black smog that he left behind was worming its way around the water before disappearing. Sam locked his hands around Zoe's waist and rested his head on her shoulder before whispering "I'm pretty difficult to get a hold of aren't I?" Sam knew that if she wanted to she could have just bitten him with her fangs to get him off, but he assumed she wouldn't do anything like that to him.

Re: A blast from the past
Zoe shrieked as he vanished and covered her mouth with her hand. Oops. Then he locked around her waist and teased her before resting his head on her shoulder.
“That’s cheating,” She accused, trying to escape; the more she squirmed the more it seemed to amuse Sam. He didn’t seem to be trying very hard to keep her against him. Zoe considered jabbing him in the ribs to get away or turning into a fish of some sort.
“I will lick you,” She threatened.
It was a rather immature threat but it was better than biting. But for proper licking to ensue she would have to manage to turn around, which wasn’t going to happen. It was distracting to have Sam pressed up against her back. Then Zoe had an idea, she used her hand and managed to tickle his ribs to loosen Sam’s grip. Then she was free. Eyes narrowing playfully.

Re: A blast from the past
Zoe threatened to lick him, slightly odd and it sounded quite immature, but Sam didn't think she would stoop to such a low level of maturity. Sam suddenly felt a tickling feeling in his ribs, Zoe's only means of escapes as he let go of her and swam back slightly, he never should have let her know one of his biggest weaknesses because now she continues to extort it. "Now that's cheating, you really won't let the fact I am ticklish go will you" Sam would need to find one of Zoe's weaknesses to even the odds slightly, he was getting quite sick of his weakness being used against him so frequently.
Zoe turned around to him, he noticed over her shoulder that his friends had returned and were poking their heads from just around the door to see what was going on, Sam smiled slightly and shook his head at the fact that they were so nosey, he wouldn't do anything like this to them because he respected their privacy but clearly they did not feel the same way. Sam would try to get rid of them, but it would mean getting out of the pool and chasing them away, and he didn't really want to leave Zoe on her own just to scare his friends away, he sighed and calmly said to her "Looks like my fan club is back".

Re: A blast from the past
The demon was ticklish too, but she wasn’t about to tell Sam that. So she just smiled at him before glowering briefly at the thought of the mortals intruding in on her relaxed fun moment with Sam. She briefly considered biting them all and even ran the idea by him, “How much trouble would I get into if I bit them?”
Luckily for them, she wasn’t serious but she cast him a sideways look. “I don’t care what they do personally but no more poofing, okay?” She flashed him a dimpled grin before vanishing underwater and swimming across the pool. When she came back up the hair had been pulled away from her face and was no longer sticking to her. Cautiously, Zoe glanced over to the group of humans in the doorway. They all seemed human and smelled human from what she had gleaned from walking by them in the fencing room.
Zoe wrung her hair, removing most of the water. Her eyes fixed on some of the blue grey tile that surrounded the pool, it appeared that a few of Sam’s friends were entering the water.

Re: A blast from the past
Sam sighed to himself quietly as he noticed his friends were entering the pool area and stripping down to their swimwear. "Yeah come in guys, yaaay..." he said sarcastically to his friends, he didn't really want them to hop in to make it more awkward, but they seemed to be coming in anyway. He swam by Zoe as he headed to the side of the pool and said "I'll try to cut down on the poofing, but doing this normally takes too much time sometimes, you know?" he said with a smile, he was pretty lazy when it came to the fact that he has a power that can speed some processes along. He ventured over to the side of the pool and sat down by it again, his friends seemed to be keeping to themselves on the other side of the pool, Sam could tell the only reason why they came in was because he was already inside, if Sam wasn't there they would have no interest in swimming.
"And I'm sure biting them could cause a lot more trouble than it's worth, just give them a punch and say that I let you."

Re: A blast from the past
Zoe rolled her eyes at Sam, “Patients young mortal, soon you shall appreciate life as it goes on.” She was totally teasing him however and she lazily punched him in the arm. His friends seemed to be brooding off into the corner and Zoe closed her eyes again, resting her head on her arms. The smell of chlorine was going to stick to her for a few days, Zoe could already tell.
However, as she thought with her eyes closed Zoe did not realize she had created a pouncing opportunity for Sam. It would be so easy for him to snag her around the waist and chuck her across the pool into the other end of the deep pool; with kneeling on the bench and her arms resting against the side of the pool it would be very easy…

Re: A blast from the past
Zoe had her back to the pool, she was calmly resting her body on the side of the pool and Sam could have easily instigated round two of their pool fight, although Sam thought it might be a bit hard to win without his ability to poof anymore. Sam slowly pushed himself off of the side of the pool, making as little noise as possible and trying not to make it seem like pouncing was obvious. He moved in for the kill, but made the split decision at the end to be the bigger man, he wrapped his arms around Zoe's waist slowly and kissed her lightly on the cheek before saying "I think I'm going to head home", he pushed himself away and started swimming to the opposite side to the pool, he could hear several of his female friends "aww" as he did so, he climbed out of the pool and tried his best to dry himself off. Sam slipped his shoes on without his socks and left his shirt off in a hope to dry quicker. He tossed his shirt over his shoulder and turned around to see if Zoe was going to join him in his trip home, he acknowledged his friends with a wave before moving towards the door slowly whilst watching Zoe to see what she was going to do.
Re: A blast from the past
Zoe jumped slightly as Sam wrapped his arms around her waist, her eyes opened to look at him.
“Mn?” She asked, tilting her head back to look at him. “Oh, okay. Coming.”
Zoe hauled herself out of the pool and wrung her hair out before picking up her towel and clothing from the pile over in the corner. The fabric was warm and soft against her skin as she slipped back into her jeans and shirt. Holding the shoes with her first two fingers on her left hand, Zoe tossed Sam her towel.
“You look a little soggy,” She notified him, arching an eyebrow, before taking the wet hair on her head and French braiding it quickly before tying it off. Zoe could feel half a dozen eyes following her as she walked out of the pool before waiting for Sam.
“Is it bad, that they remind me of vultures?”
Indeed they did, lurking in wait to see if she screwed up in some shape or way or form… Zoe sighed and leaned her head against the wall, the demon was feeling sleepy again.

Re: A blast from the past
Sam snatched the towel out of the air and wiped himself down, he tried his best to dry his hair which was still pretty wet afterwards, he quickly wiped down his chest so his shirt wouldn't get soggy when he put it on too. He slotted his shirt over his head and threw the towel over his shoulder. "You can call them vultures if you want, it's a nicer word than I would call them" he said with a cheeky grin. The pair entered the locker rooms and took out their respective supplies, Sam gave Zoe her towel back as he decided to use his own that he had stashed away, he still was not completely dry, but it was enough, the sun would soon get rid of most of the moisture on him.
Sam held the door for Zoe as she exited, he noticed just before he closed the door that his friends had also exited the swimming pool minutes after him, figures. He allowed the door to close itself as he caught up with Zoe a short way down the street, they both walked home together and it was clear that Zoe was slightly tired, it was around 2 or 3pm at this point, she must have had a bad night on the couch it seemed. They both returned safely to his apartment, as Sam opened the door, Amber was found to be sitting directly in front of it, possibly waiting for the pair of them to return home, Sam held out a foot of acknowledgement to her as she placed her paw onto it. Sam retired to his room and changed his clothes to something more suitable, whatever Zoe did was a mystery to him.

Re: A blast from the past
Zoe gave him a wan smile before following after him, tossing the towel over her shoulder. Her energy had been drained away rather quickly. She would have to take a nap soon. Napping was a mortal habit she had picked up on when she was working till the wee hours of the morning.
Soon they had entered the apartment and Zoe looked for a place to hang her towel. So she did so in the bathroom. The clothes she had worn yesterday and fallen asleep in were folded up and in a bag by the door. The daily newspaper sat on the table where it had been left that morning; Zoe wandered over to it and opened up the pages, skimming it. Seeing nothing of interest she turned the page, looking at odd jobs. Eventually, she settled down in the chair, chewing her lip. The underworld had better paying jobs than this and Zoe was still getting money from the Casio case.
That entire thing had been a mess… if they had called her in ahead of time not as many people would have died. Zoe sighed in frustration, stupid demons and their laws…

Re: A blast from the past
Sam returned to the living area where he leaped over the back of the couch and landed in a seated position, he yawned loudly as he turned the TV on, Sam usually took a small nap after he worked out, it was an easy way to wind down and relax, but seems that he had some company, he would try to stay awake for as long as possible.
Sam flicked through some of the channels and left it on a sports news channel, it was the only channel on his US TV that would tell him the scores of the English sports and he was interested to see how his team had done. He peeked over to Zoe and noticed that she was reading the newspaper, Sam lifted his feet and placed them on his living room table, he then folded his arms over his chest, this was generally the position he felt the most comfortable in and would snooze like this a lot. He noticed Amber tugging at his chest, trying to keep him awake, but he was too tired and too comfortable to keep his eyes open, it did not take long until he was having his nap.

Re: A blast from the past
Zoe moved over to Sam, sliding into place next to him while watching the news. It only took a few moments for Sam to drift off to sleep closely followed by Zoe. Her head rested on his shoulder with her feet tucked underneath her. The demon slept for about twenty minutes only to be awoken by her cell phone, vibrating on the table. Zoe stood slowly, trying hard to not disturb Sam.
“Hello,” Zoe whispered into the phone. Amber was wide awake, watching her with mismatched eyes. Zoe’s face paled, very few people had her number and generally when she got a call it was never good.
“Well… that’s not good is it,” She leaned against the counter, crossing her arms, her phone between her cheek and her shoulder. “No, I’ll come. I will just be a day or so even flying. Okay, see you. Bye.”
Zoe hung up and pressed her forehead to her hand, “My past is coming back to haunt me.”
She told the cat. Amber just licked her chops, displaying fangs. Zoe looked around for something to write on and a pen. After scrounging up a post-it and a pen she wrote a quick note.
Sam,
Something has come up in the Underworld. I will be gone for a few weeks. Take care, don’t do anything fun without me.
Zoe
The handwriting was thin and slanting, almost like the calligraphy seen on hundreds of years old scrolls. Heck, it probably knew her age. Zoe would be back considering her towel was hanging up in the bathroom.
“Bye,” She whispered before sliding out the door.
