A Cliche Crash (Closed to Swordsmaster) Empty A Cliche Crash (Closed to Swordsmaster)

Post by The Valtiari August 23rd 2013, 10:21 pm

The Valtiari siblings had parted ways quite some time ago. They were all more than capable with handling themselves and would be able to cover much more ground with their work. Yvvone was headed in the Northeastern direction and was approaching the Dakotas. He had not run into much of anything, metas or normal people. He was hoping his brother and sister were having a little bit more luck in fulfilling their callings. If something did happen soon, he may have to create his own entertainment.

He reached the border of North and South Dakota and voted to move north. The towns he had came across were not too interesting. Most gave him odd looks due to his outfit, which were becoming slightly irritating. Thankfully no one had done anything more than give him looks as he passed through the towns. He took a break in a small residential area with a couple of 'Mom and Pop' shops. He stopped at a cafe and got a small meal, upon taking a seat he began to overhear a conversation between two shady looking characters. Something about a shipment of materials to pass through a town known as Valley City in this state via train. It seemed like the contents of the carrier were highly dangerous, and more than likely illegal. So it looks like Yvvone has found something to do in North Dakota. Whoever these fools were, they probably had said too much before they realized it, if they had even realized it at all. Once Yvvone had finished his small meal he immediately began to make his way to this Valley City to wait from this cargo train.

Making his way to this not-so-city he could easily tell where this train would be coming from. There was a highline bridge that spanned over a valley which led into the town. He created a small energy platform which allowed him to hover across and throughout the beams of the bridge. Drawing his sword, he slashed small incision on major parts of the structure injecting a little bit of his energy so that he could later expand it into a force field breaking the bridge apart and sending the train plummeting into the valley. The operators of the train would more than likely perish, but they would deserve their fate for crating such substances whether they are aware or not.
After his sabatoge was complete he took a seat on the edge of the train tracks and waited. He could feel the vibrations so the transport was not too far off, so it would not be too much longer now. The little bits of energy could be see in the slash marks on the parts of the beams in the bridge supports from a small distance. They appeared as a purple-blueish sparkle.
While Yvvone sat, he tried to see if he could contact his siblings, as expected they were too far off to be reached by their telepathy, but never too far to be summoned to him if the situation arose. After a few moments he could see the train approaching so he snapped his fingers and the energy in the breams began to expand into small force fields which pushed apart the supports causing the entire bridge to collapse. The train would be moving too quickly and be much too close to the cliff to properly stop. All Yvvone had to do now was sit back and watch.

A Cliche Crash (Closed to Swordsmaster) Empty Re: A Cliche Crash (Closed to Swordsmaster)

Post by Swordsmaster August 23rd 2013, 11:18 pm

Darren was somewhere around the Dakota’s on a vacation of sorts. Well, to be quite honest everywhere he went always seemed to be some sort of vacation, but this one was different because so far he hadn’t run into anything news worthy or completely and utterly earth shattering. Like for instant an alien crash landing in the cornfields of Kansas. Now that was certainly an adventure if he had any. The Hero, that would be Darren of course, The Best Friend, Force obviously, a strange man, Robo-man, and the dashingly beautiful alien. It had certainly been an interesting time in Kansas but after a while he got bored, as he always did, and took off on his merry little way and somehow or another ended up here in North Dakota.

John always was telling him he thought at times that Darren seemed to move faster than a hundred and ten miles per hour, but Darren wouldn’t believe it. A hundred and ten had always been his top speed, even if everything else around him always seemed to move at much, much, slower speeds he himself never went any faster. At least that’s what he told himself; anything faster than a hundred and ten was strictly his ADHD mind going haywire. Was really the only reason he explained to himself how he had gotten from Kansas all the way up to the Dakota’s and then to some random train station in such a short time. Which now that he stopped to think about it there seemed to be someone flying over that weird bridge that was only a few feet in front of Darren.

This of course caught the attention of the shirtless and shoeless boy whose only noticeable possessions were the book bag on his back, the sword obviously sticking out of it, and the shorts he was wearing. Grinning a boyish grin he set the book bag down upon the ground and quickly throwing out the clothes that rested inside of it he changed into his ‘super hero’ uniform. Which consisted of a white… well he wasn’t sure exactly how to describe it but it looked like those clothes from the old assassins video games. At least that’s what one or two people have told him, Darren didn’t care they fitted him nicely and were quite easy to repair. Plus they were easy to store and travel around with…unlike shirts and shoes. Laughing at his own little joke he pulled the boots on, tested the hidden blades, and then pulled the hood down over his head.

“Show time baby!” He called out before turning his attention back to the bridge and the flying man and taking off down over to where he was. Standing behind the now sitting down man he cocked his head to the side, “So, you show up fly over it and then sit down… kinda strange if you ask me.” Darren mused hearing a train off in the near distance. “I mean you didn’t even do any-“ He cut himself off as he saw the bridge explode with the train on top of it and the people, however few, inside of it going hurtling down towards their doom. “Oh, now that just is not right…” He shook his head taking off at full speed across the bridge before jumping off and landing inside the front of the train.

Once there Darren grabbed the two closest people with one arm and then took off grabbing the other two before jumping out, and up, the back of the train with all his might using his speed and strength to give him a good eighty foot jump. Even with the extra weight of the relatively small numbered passengers on the actually quite ‘small’ train he landed on the other side and on the ground. Smiling at them from under his hood he turned around and scratched his head, looking to the other side at the guy who apparently orchestrated all this…ooo butterfly! Shaking his head he yelled over to the man. “Hey! What’s the big idea and all, blowing up a god damn train; you could have totally hurt someone!” Once the words left Darren’s mouth of course, well a few seconds afterwords, was when he realized that was just what the man had wanted. Which was a terrible thing. “Wait that is what you wanted isn’t it!” He yelled out drawing his sword and taking off at full speed before jumping into the air and over to the other side where he landed a few feet away from the flying man. “Now it’s on…I’m the Swordsmaster by the way and you’re going down flying man.”

A Cliche Crash (Closed to Swordsmaster) Empty Re: A Cliche Crash (Closed to Swordsmaster)

Post by The Valtiari August 24th 2013, 2:03 pm

Things were going smoothly until Yvvone caught sight of a man moving at extremely high speeds. Impressively he had saved the crew members of the train, but not the train itself. Yvvone's personal mission had been accomplished and he began to make his way from the scene. That's when this amateur of a hero called out to him from the other side of the bridge. From what he could see at a distance this man drew his sword and then launched himself from one end of the bridge and landing only a few feet from Yvvone. He took a couple steps back see that whoever or whatever he was dealing with did in fact have some set of abilities, speed and strength apparently being two of the skills he possessed.

Yvvone created a very thin, clear barrier around himself fearing that this "Swordsmaster" would strike him at any moment. The shield would most likely crack heavily like glass, but It would give Yvvone an insight to his strength a little more.
My name is Yvvone Valtiari, not 'flying man'. I've completed my mission here, so if you do not mind I'll be on my way..."
Yvvone turned and began to walk away. Just judging by his personality this man was likely to be easily enticed. He already wanted a fight, so now this should just hasten the fuze. Yvvone wanted to be struck, whether his forcefield could be seen or not, he was protected for the time being. And of course if anything went south, he always had backup.

A Cliche Crash (Closed to Swordsmaster) Empty Re: A Cliche Crash (Closed to Swordsmaster)

Post by Swordsmaster August 25th 2013, 9:08 am

“Wait, wait, wait, you actually think after blowing up a train track, de-railing a train, and almost killing four people you get to walk away free? Yea no I don’t think so buddy.” He said taking off after the man and slashed at the back of the man’s knees where if hit correctly it would surely bring the flying man with a very hard name to pronounce down to his knees. From there things would be so much easier for Darren to knock him unconscious and then carry him off to the nearby police station and all would be well and good again. Except things were never that easy, were they?

The slash to the man’s knees did absolutely nothing to him and instead simply shattered what seemed to be a light and invisible force field that had been surrounding the man. This did not bode well for Darren because of course if he couldn’t see the force field than there would be no way for him to tell when it was up, or how the man was able to create them. “Well damn, that certainly makes thins just a tiny bit more complicated…well you know what they say, the harder it is the more fun it gets…or no, that can’t be right.” He said laughing as he backed up a bit, yet still in reach with his sword, not wanting this man to think he was going to get away anytime soon.

To make it clear he rushed forwards again intending to aim yet another strike at the man, but this time it would instead be aimed for the man’s chest. The swing would, if connected, would go from shoulder to center mass which would leave the dominate hand unusable and thus would allow this fight to continue much quicker. Unless of course the man made another force field of the same strength or perhaps even a stronger one this time, to stop Darren. If he did than Darren was out of luck, because even with all his abilities taking out force fields all day long wasn’t something he was too good at. Sure, he could probably go at this longer than the flying force field man could, but it would definitely get boring after a while.

A Cliche Crash (Closed to Swordsmaster) Empty Re: A Cliche Crash (Closed to Swordsmaster)

Post by The Valtiari September 2nd 2013, 12:24 am

Yvvone looked over his shoulder as the man attacked him, just as he expected. The swordsman swept low going for his knees, however Yvvone's shield had kept him from harm. It easily shattered like glass leaving the swordsman a little disappointed that his attack had not landed  hit. Yvvone turned and faced the man as he took a step back. The Valtiari child tried to analyze this stance, but he did not know enough about this style of fighting in order to predict his next move.
In not time at all, the swordsmaster was rushing at Yvvone with another attack who quickly raised another barrier. It was light purple in color, being noticeably more visible than last time due to the increased level of density. The barrier was struck, and cracked a little bit letting Yvvone know that he could still increase the durability of the shields further. He crossed his arms and grunted a little bit and pushed the barrier forward and moved backwards a little bit putting some distance in between them. The barrier that Swordsmaster had made contact with shattered, but Yvvone was already created more orbs around his person. They started to fly towards his opponent at rapid speeds, and right before they made contact sharp spikes protruded out of them. There were four spheres all about a little bit larger than an average bowling ball swirling around Swordsmaster trying to get something in. He seemed extremely skilling with his weapons, judging by his name, so getting any sort of hit in would be progress. Yvvone figured that the best tactic in this situation was keeping himself safe and attempting to overload his opponent with input to possibly cause a minute lapse in concentration which is all he would need in order to sink a spike deep through his abdomen permanently ending this nuisance of a situation.

A Cliche Crash (Closed to Swordsmaster) Empty Re: A Cliche Crash (Closed to Swordsmaster)

Post by Swordsmaster September 2nd 2013, 9:47 am

So the guy could make some pretty strong force fields, which totally sucked for Darren. Sure, he could keep hacking and slashing all day for all he cared but it would do anything besides tire himself out. Darren's own fighting style, though made through various different styles, was modified to maim and injure an opponent to where they could not fight anymore. He wasn't too sure how to do that when going up against an opponent who could simply block any and all attacks Darren threw out at him...unless of course he tried something different. Something of course that involved the hidden blades Darren had built into his costume. When he felt one of the colorful force fields crashing under the sword he would be ready to strike. For now he had an entirely different problem to deal with. Namely the flying force field disks.

First there was the barrier that pushes him backwards and a bit aways from the force man, and the orbs started circling around him. "Awww... I've watched enough movies to know what happens now. You gona throw those things at me!" He called out laughing as he got in a defensive stance, except his sword was instead down by his side.  When the four orbs came hurtling towards him and when they were in close enough he jumped up into the air, used one of the now spikey orbs as lift off, and came down landing a back flip a few feet away. "Not today! Not today! The Swordsmaster is not dying from some silly old spikey force field orbs!" He yelled out turning to face the maker of the orbs and of course rushed out after him. This was about to get a lot more interesting... Or so Darren hoped it would. Didn't matter what that guy threw at him, he could dodge it... He could dodge nearly everything.

In under five seconds Darren had closed the gap between where he had been and where the man now stood, sword at the ready he made a slashing movement across the man's chest. Knowing it would of course hit a force field he shoved the sword forward with one hand while the other pushed forward and the hidden blade shot out of it. The hidden blade was aimed for the gut and hopefully if the force field had been broken by the force of the slash and push of his sword, the hidden blade would make it through. If not Darren always had other tricks up his sleeve. Or hood, or whichever said trick decided to be resting at that point in time. Though of course after the attack Darren backed up a bit and readied himself for the counter attack.

A Cliche Crash (Closed to Swordsmaster) Empty Re: A Cliche Crash (Closed to Swordsmaster)

Post by The Valtiari September 2nd 2013, 2:03 pm

As expected, the orbs did not do anything but he had not destroyed them so they were still of use to Yvvone. He kept his eyes on him as he pushed himself up in the air and then rushed towards him attempting to attack him yet again. He was able to close the gap extremely quickly and Yvvone took note of his speed. With his arms remaining crossed, another shield appeared in front of him to guard against his next attack. This was was an even deeper purple as Yvvone had increased the density of the shield yet again. When the swordsman's sword slashed across it it left a pretty deep scratch mark, and then to the Valtiari's surprise a dagger emerged from his sleeve and plunged deeper into the shield penetrating it but not causing it to shatter. Luckily, Yvvone was far enough from the barrier so that he would not be cut by the blade. This man had tricks up his sleeve, and quite literally too.

He the leaped back, most likely in preparation for his next attack. Yvvone's shield faded away and the four orbs took position a few feet above Swordmaster's person out of reach of his sword for the time being. They were in a square formation and the spikes on them were repositioning themselves aiming down towards the swordsman. Simultaneously Yvvone drew his own sword and stabbed it into the ground and injected a little bit of his energy, similar to the way he had to the bridge earlier. Using his powers, he caused the bit of energy he put into the ground to rapidly expand which in turn caused the earth to split. The fissure in the earth would hopefully shake Yvvone's opponent's concentration for the slightest of instants while the orbs above him fired the spikes downwards at him. Hopefully with range of movement that Yvvone had limited Swordsmater to it would be more likely that a hit would land.

A Cliche Crash (Closed to Swordsmaster) Empty Re: A Cliche Crash (Closed to Swordsmaster)

Post by Swordsmaster September 7th 2013, 11:33 pm

The attack was stopped by the force field, even his hidden blade couldn't do anything against it apparently. Darren groaned as the orbs rested in the air a few feet out of reach of his sword. "Duuude you gona seriously try the orbs of death trick again? Didn't work last time why would it work this time?" He laughed and moved to take off forwards at his opponent but then the ground shook and split open under neath him, causing him to loose his footing. Then it happened, then the orbs of death came flying down at him. "Shiiiiiiizzz!" He screamed out juggling to get to his feet and diving to the side.

Of course Darren wasn't exactly the luckiest man in the world at that point in time as the one spike flung it's self across his back. Ripping into his costume and tearing through the back part of it he groaned stumbling and falling down to his knees. Well... That certainly wasn't something I expected. How about we step this up a notch huh?" He grinned through gritted teeth and spun his sword into an attack position. Darren expected the man to use a force field again but hopefully he wouldn't... Rushing forwards he slashed at the front of the man and then just as quickly jumped over the man and landed behind him. Once there he spun around and slashed out at the man's back. "Ready to dance? Because I so know how to dance... And fight, and stuff."

A Cliche Crash (Closed to Swordsmaster) Empty Re: A Cliche Crash (Closed to Swordsmaster)

Post by The Valtiari September 10th 2013, 5:42 pm

Good. It seemed like he could be overwhelmed with multiple attacks, however it would take more than just a dozen pointy objects to put this man out of commission. He was talkative no doubt, be though as it may it did not give any insight to his true intellect which at the moment did not seem to be all that impressive. Yvvone was able to land a hit across the man's back, but it did not appear to do too much damage. He would have to try harder.
The Swords Master took an attack stance and charged in at Yvvone. A forward attack like this was rather foolish as he could have easily manifested another spike and impaled him, ending the conflict swiftly. However this man was a worthy opponent and would give him a more honorable death when the time came. Once he was in range, Yvvone brought up a thin barrier. This time around it was not created to stop the attack, only to reduce the impact. The swordsman tore through the barrier and it shattered like glass sending pieced flying out all around. Yvvone brought up his sword and met with his clashing for a moment before the man pushed off and flipped over and behind him. The shattered pieces of the forcefield rapidly gathered back together and blocked the slash aimed to the Valtiari's back. It had been slightly reinforced allowing Yvvone more time to turn around, so that once the shield  shattered for a second time he was able to meet his opponent's blade yet again.

His opponent was clearly stronger than him as he would not be able to hold off his sword for much longer. The shards from the broken shield still lingered and almost instantaneously Yvvone refined their points and hand them quickly move to positions all around his opponent. Without waisting any time he leaped backwards as the shards of energy tried to impale the man. He would have to make sure to keep his distance away from him seeing now how much stronger he was than himself. Yvvone sheathed his sword while he thought of another way to hopefully defeat this skillful swordsman. They were somewhat near the edge of the cliff, and from what he had gathered it did not appear that this man had the ability to fly. Sending off the edge would be a solid plan, thought it may not prove to be lethal in the end but it would provide enough time for Yvvone to make his escape.

A Cliche Crash (Closed to Swordsmaster) Empty Re: A Cliche Crash (Closed to Swordsmaster)

Post by Swordsmaster November 3rd 2013, 7:11 pm

A sword clash here, a barrier there, another barrier and then a final sword clash before the flying force field man scuttled away. It was as if Darren would never truly be able to make a scratch on this man. Something the force field dude had already done to him, also something he couldn't allow to happen again. Which of course upon thinking that the first thing that happened was a push off from the opposing force, who flung himself backwards, and then made the shattered pieces fly into the air. This was something Darren had seen before and so of course has been expecting it. "Guess what they say is true, you really can't teach an old dog new tricks." He shouted out and waited as the shards of whatever they were came flying down at him, and when they did he jumped. The five foot six, sixteen year old super hero jumped straight into the air using only around half of his leg strength. Even then though he got a good forty feet into the air and was able to roll forward, landing a few feet away from the shards and closing the distance between him and force field man.

"How'd you like that? I'm pretty sure you missed that time." Swordsmaster laughed spinning his sword in his hand while he assessed the situation. It seemed they were relatively close to the cliff that had once had a bridge running across it and he knew he couldn't fly, while the force field man could do so. This of course had to be something the other man had already figured out so, to keep the other man from coming up with other plans Darren would just have to react faster than force field man could! Speaking of which a grin flashed across his face and he dashed towards the man. With only about five feet behind the force field man and the cliff, jumping over him again would be too risky. So, instead Darren resorted to a quick stab towards the man's right arm pit, a swim dodge to the left away from the sword arm and a half jump backwards where he took a defensive stance. Reacting ahead of time, and hopefully correctly, to the shards of the force field he sprung forward sword raised high and coming down in a slicing movement one would see a samurai attempt with a katana. Except probably way faster than a normal samurai could move.

Yvvone rolled his eyes seeing that none of his attacks worked, his opponent was starting to get a little too confident. The Valtiari child put his hand on his sword again preparing for whatever this man would attack with next. The swordsman lunged forward aiming for the corner of his right arm, Yvvone was able to slightly dodge this one. His outfit under his arm was cut a little bit, he then jumped to his left instinctively rolling on the ground before springing back to his feet. He then stabbed his sword into the ground while sending forward a spiked ball of energy towards the swordsman, but to no avail. He had already moved into a defensive position and was easily able to deflect the attack away from himself.
Meanwhile Yvvone had sent a decent amount of his own energy into the cliff's edge. Following, the swordsman raised up his sword which the Yvvone could predict would only come down. And with the skills that this individual has been displaying, taking a full force blow of such an attack would prove fatal.

In a instant, he reacted by launching himself backwards. Straight off the cliff, taking his sword with him. Once he cleared the edge, he expanded the energy he had put into the ground, causing a hefty portion of the ground he had been standing on to collapse away. Hopefully taking the swordsman down as well. Yvvone made a platform to hoover on away from the cliff and all the rubble in the event that this man would survive the collapse of the ground beneath his feet. To make matters more difficult, the sibling of the Valtiari created more spiked orbs or energy. These began to rotate and put themselves up against the cliff's edge and began to tear away more of the earth. While Yvvone watched, he sheathed his sword again and crossed his arms keeping a careful eye on this swords man. Hopefully this would do him in and he could retreat back to his brother and sister.

A Cliche Crash (Closed to Swordsmaster) Empty Re: A Cliche Crash (Closed to Swordsmaster)

Darren missed, he wasn’t quite sure how and he didn’t like it. Oh, sure the flying force field man was good but there was no way he could have dodged the attack at the speed Darren was moving. From what Darren had gathered, through the use of his own knowledge of bodily movements and sword techniques as well as his adaptive muscle mimicry nothing he had seen showed that this man was able to move that fast. It of course bugged the crap out of when the flying man jumped backwards, sword back in his hand, and was Darren was falling straight down onto the edge of the cliff. The one spot on the entire field he truly did not want to be at. The moment his feet touched the ground Darren could tell that something was off. The flying man had done something to the ground; he just knew it.

Darren was right of course, the ‘flying force field man’ had done something to the ground, but it wasn’t what Darren had thought of. When his feet touched the ground it gave way and crumbled beneath him sending the jokester swordsman tumbling through the air and of course that wasn’t all the man had thought of. “My god, you ever gona give up?! Because I sure ain’t!” He screamed purely out of fear and some misplaced hopefulness. Well not too misplaced, for when the spiked balls attacked the cliff they came flying down after Darren they not only brought about a threat but a foothold for Darren to use. Reacting much faster than the flying man could Darren spun his body, so that his head was to the side and pushed off of the nearest rock derby. This sent the boy spiraling off towards the next nearest one which he then used to propel himself upward. This was done of course until he was just below the flying man.

Once there Darren pushed off of the last rock derby, dodging the spiked ball flying his way and spun his body like a top flying up and out at Yvvone. This attack he wasn’t expecting to hit, even if he was aiming at center mass. For this attack was simply a way to get on the edge of the platform Yvvone was using to hover in mid air. Sure, Darren knew as soon as the flying man had time to react, when he saw Darren land on the platform, that he would drop him. But, Darren’s plan rested on the fact that he could react faster than Yvvone. So, planning it right Darren’s spinning attack of suicide would get blocked by a force field allowing Darren to spin up and over Yvvone, landing just behind him on the edge of the platform. Here he’d attempt to wrap his arms around the man’s throat and extend his hidden blade at the man’s neck with his sword pointing into the back. “Ooooh….I think we call this a draw.” A grin would plaster onto his face, if all went according to plan of course.
