Rating
Sexual Content 2: Sexual content is permitted. References and writing about genitalia and sex acts are permitted, but explicit detail is not. Fade to black, or use the dotdotdot rule. (Let's keep it PG-13.)
Violence 2: Graphic violence is permitted. Explicit description or in-game narration violence is allowed.
Despite these ratings, keep in mind that there is a limit, and you should not cross it just to garner attention. Also, resorting to curse words is also like adding senseless fluff to your posts.

NPC(s): US Department of Metahuman Affairs
(OOC: This is just a proposal, I find it slightly implausible that the US of A would not have a proper threat-response unit better than the Army for handling things when there isn't a caped crusader around to solve the problem. Nevertheless, just say the word and I'll forget about it.)
Name Of the Group: Department of Metahuman Affairs (DMA)
Description/Goal: A department under the Executive Branch of the US federal government, funded from the national budget and responsible for coordinating metahuman operations in conjunction with more traditional armed response forces, in addition to maintaining a meta-grade response force of its own. Neither good nor evil, the Department looks out for the greater good, that being the citizens of the United States as a whole. While this normally puts it aligned with Good, it is in fact a Neutral group, given that it may sometimes impinge upon individuals to keep the populace in general safe, and is not immune to political pressure or bureaucratic stagnation.
History: If there is one thing American Democracy is good for, it's redundancy. There are several mundane intelligence agencies working at cross purposes, with a quiet rivalry going on between them. The superpowered sector is no different. While Project Perfection failed, and proceeded to backfire spectacularly, there was at least one quieter initiative to give the Stars and Stripes some superpowered muscle. The product of that program being put under the purview of a new executive agency, the Department of Metahuman Affairs.
Members/Roster:
Michelle Harridan, Director
Jack Samuelssen, Armed Forces Liaison
Sanya Smith, Southeast Quadrant Mission Coordinator
Dr. Providence Metheus, Head Robotics Technician
Freedom Assault Android Units Alpha through Omega, Blunt Force
Any other info: The DMA is based out of an old nuclear missile silo near Colorado Springs, Colorado. There, they maintain the twenty-four Freedom units, although ten of them are always on reserve, with five on secondment to the Secret Service in Washington, and the remaining nine in rapid response centers around the country. For the most part, however, the Department prefers to maintain a low profile, coordinating the efforts of less official agents, typically superpowered volunteers, termed "meta-operatives".
Wealth: National Budget, 4

Name: Freedom Assault Androids

History: Developed around the turn of the millennium by Dr. Providence Metheus, the Freedoms, or Battlebots as rank-and-file troopers tend to call them, are remote-controlled robots designed to take on Metahumans of all varieties.
They utilize virtual reality technology to immerse the pilot in the mission, allowing for a heightened response time and more intuitive operation, even with the lag from a triply backed-up control feed.
Power(s):
Cybernetic Strength: Being soldiers of alloy and oil instead of flesh and blood, the Freedoms can take punishment that would kill a normal human, and they can also take on environments that only robots are suited to handle, such as extreme heat, cold, pressure or vacuum.
Modular Mission Packs: Another advantage of the Freedoms is their modular structure. They can wield personal weapons that would be too heavy for normal humans, in addition to specialized loadouts that can be adapted to the requirements of the mission.
These include flamethrower attachments for handling cryokinetics, and conversely fire-fighting rigs for handling pyrokinetics. Sticky goo-launchers, LRAD sonic weapons, heavy machine guns, RPAD seeker missiles, and many more strange and wonderful gadgets can and are utilized.
