This is how God Loses a Bet
It had been quite some time since Ms.Elena Vexus had paid a visit to her dearest friend Elena Marie, though over the time they had parted ways she had kept a close eye on her magical half. Her little organization known as 'Shade' seemed to have picked up a little bit of speed gaining a handful of powerful members, and some not so powerful. Regardless there were some participants and she would need to be aware of them in her next personal assignment. With evolution being big on her mind lately there were many things she had tested and experimented with in the passing weeks which opened her mind up to a new world of possibilities. She had reached a celling with her cybernetic technology. She was advanced as she could make herself with this world's technology meaning further advancement was impossible. Vexus needed an outside force in order to kickstart her evolution onto a higher plan of existence.
Magic. Elena needed the force of magic in order to further her production. Such a power defied the laws of physics and with a combination of the two could grant a user unparalleled abilities. The promise of such power was enough to send Vexus on a man hunt. Elena Marie is the foremost authority in the magical arts on this planet and finding her may prove to be difficult through technological means. With The Purge in full swing, it would have been wise for not only her, but her subordinates, to make themselves scare in order to survive the raids. They had done so efficiently as the information that was brought back to Vexus from various attacks around the would yielded no information to her on their whereabouts. Once incident more recently hinted to Marie's intentions as one of her members of Shade attacked her. Whether it was on his own accord or Marie's orders she would not know, but he was quickly subdued. THe small amount of information that he provided was crucial to the finding of Marie. The more classic methods of finding someone where beginning to bore Elena, so she resorted to hacking into high security government space cameras, and various other technologies they use to find people. Scouring the globe Vexus was able to triangulate an area where she suspected the base to be located from tracked signals and photographs. What did it in for Ms.Marie were some unknown and encrypted messages from an organization known as OCEAN. One of which Vexus has not throughly inspected lately, but would put on her to do list. The purpose of finding Marie was to harvest her for her magical powers and knowledge. Asking nicely was not really an option here as if Marie knew of the potential of evolution that was at stake, she could easily turn around and try to kill Vexus and harness her knowledge and power dealing with all things technological.
With Marie not being your average Meta, Vexus did well to prepare for their confrontation. She traveled around the world and stole swords from various religions and cannibalized them tuning them into weapons of technology for her own personal use. During a research mission in Madagascar she was able to test out the power of her creations on two intruders. She was pushed to a point past her comfort zone due to underestimating her opponent and knew the same mistake could not happen again as it could cost her more than just a few repairs.
Intending on coming out of this alive, Vexus ignored the percentage survival rate her systems presented to her, packed some things and booked a flight to New Orleans. This confrontation was not something she was going to take lightly. There would be no games, no underestimation, nothing that might put Vexus behind. She must be ahead at all times in order to come out of this victorious. The two clones she had brought with her began to map out the park with what information that they had in order to plot a route of escape in case it was needed. Planning even further ahead than she needed to, while on the plane Vexus sabotaged part of its guidance and flight systems programming it so that when it flew over a specific area, it would begin to nose dive into a preset location. Vexus was also carrying with her a prototype weapon she called her Void Gauntlet. It was experimental technology dealing with interstellar transportation. It was incomplete, though slightly more than half of the tests proved successful and she needed the extra power in order to catch Marie off guard. It was a risk she was willing to take.
Upon arrival, Elena did not delay in making her way to the abandoned amusement park that marked the location of Shade's base. She did not carry a purse or any sort of luggage with her. All of her separate weapons were kept somewhere on her body if she did already have them set up to be teleported to her. Ms.Vexus wore her favorite outfit to this event. Long red sparkling dress with hot pink heels and purple gloves. Her hair was down and covered most of the left side of her face as it normally does. She exited the vehicle with her two clones and they approached the entrance, the first she noticed was the large wooden roller coaster that made up a decent amount of the park. Checking her internal clock, her 'delivery' would be arriving soon so she would need to get into position. Scanning for life forms, she did not pick up anything immediately but as she continued walking further into the park, a few basic forms of life began sprouting up and then disappearing soon after. Figuring magical beings may not appear under typical life scanners she switched one eye to infrared vision and the other to ultraviolet. At first, still nothing was appearing on the scanners until something began closing in on them quickly from behind. The sword by the name of Nephthys was summoned into the combat clone's hand who quickly cut through whatever it was after them. Giving it a quick look over Vexus came up with it being an artificial human, created through magical means no doubt. It was of a lower quality which means it was a good chance that they had been created in bulk. Adjusting her scanning systems she was able to see their locations now enabling herself and her clones to retaliate better.
To Vexus' surprise, there were more of this artificial humans than expected as well as different forms of them. Mobs of the fast moving ones began to emerge from the large wooden roller coaster and from behind them a taller, more powerful form of these minions appeared as well as some with a more gently appearance. The clone threw the sword like a Frisbee at the two new models that came from behind, regardless of the softer appearance, slicing them all at the midsection. Meanwhile Vexus sent fourth a wall of black flames in order to slow the incoming mob. Taking a glance upwards she saw that her package was about to be delivered. The plan she had sabotaged was coming down straight on top of the park. The flames kept the artificial humans at bay for a couple of moments, and just as she disabled them the plane struck the ground and slid over all of the low lifeforms and tearing apart the old wooden roller coaster. Debris flew everywhere, and the wreckage was set a blaze from the leaking jet fuel. An explosion was due any moment now.
The thrown sword returned to the clone's hand as the diced minions fell. Though they were simple now, she was sure that was not the last of them. Vexus looked down the different pathways of the amusement park not wishing to venture down them for fear of traps. Such an entrance had to have caught the attention of the great sorceress by now. She continued to scan on all different levels for any more signs of life, but nothing was coming up. There must be something malfunctioning with her systems as she has not had such a problem with finding living beings before. It was all this magic, it did not meld very will with her current system workings. A few more minutes had past, the plane crash continued to burn and still yet no sign of Marie. It was about time that Vexus gave a proper knock...
A large explosion erupted from behind Vexus shaking the entire park. The jet fuel had combusted and threw more flaming pieces of metal all around. Elena crossed her arms as she waited for 'The Sorceress Supreme' to show herself. The Bionic Goddess was getting rather impatient herself. For more than 100 years she has strived for perfection, and now this was the beginning to something even greater...

Re: This is how God Loses a Bet
White energy coalesced and within moments it had been absorbed into a single crystalline sphere, one that even when all of the energy was gone retained its gleam. The key, as powerful as it was did not meet Elenas specifications of power and it also did not have enough to do as she intended. Accessing the Soul Stream alone cost large amounts of magical energy, and that alone was something Elena Marie could not continually spare if she wanted to remain living,. While the keys were generators of power, they could not give her a permanent gateway ; and maintaining anything too long would drain them completely. Even within magic, there was one thing that was constant, and that was that energy was not infinite. Everything could run out and energy was no exception, so she would need a key to creating this gateway, a way that she could do so without expending so much energy.
Marie ran a single lithe finger along her chin, as many ideas ran about through her brain. Even with all of the keys, a gateway could not be permanently made, something that was not good when that was the sole aim. ”Damn it all, this is getting me nowhere.” The crimson witch cursed as she slammed a fist against the metallic table in pure anger. Marian took a few steps back, knowing well not to mess with the red haired women when she was in one of her moods. Still the immortal commander knew that she had nothing to fear, seeing as she was one of the only people that could never truly die, and that left her with leverage when it came to speaking out.
”Milady if you would humor me.” The young honey haired female spoke up. ”Perhaps if what you seek is a gateway to the Soul Stream, maybe it would be easier if you would find those that are more attuned to it.” The homunculis suggested with a smooth tone that betrayed nothing.
”That would suggest that Militians are not the only ones with a connection.” She considered this for a moment, red lips screwing up into a half scowl. It was a sound enough plan within itself and Maries advanced information networks would allow her to find such people easily, if they existed that was. ”Sounds like something that I would have to look into. You prove your worth yet again.” Elena noted pleased, intertwining her fingers together as the key that floated only three feet in front of her settled into the slot in a marble pillar. When the crystal touched the marble, a single artificial human walked down to join the two, her demonic wings hugging a lithe back tightly.
”Lady Elena, someone is attacking the base as we speak and they are making a mess of your forces. Ivan and Lucy are already on their way to inter...” before she could finish, a resounding crash swept throughout the base and sent Elena reeling from her seat. The sorceress cursed under her breath as her head collided with the cold concrete, and sent pain through her head like fire. This sounded like someone was performing some form of tactical assualt upon her but it would take more than that to defeat her forces, and even more to defeat the Crimson Witch. She rose to her feet, not even bothering to check herself as the healing rune upon her back took care of the minor damage well enough, not using up enough energy to impede its usefulness in battle.
”Angelica, I want you and Marian to head on outside to assess the damage and if Ivan and Lucy are damages, I want them repaired immediately. Whoever is doing this will not get away with their lives.” Wherever the hell Alexandra and Michael were was beyond her, but she knew well enough that they would be joining the battle before it reached a climax. Elena found herself at a sort of impasse, considering that she had only her staff of flames and hellfire band on hand, but they would prove useful enough when it came down to the actual conflict. The army of Shade would show this interloper the error of their ways, though the lesson would be one that they were likely never to gain anything from.
Marie held tightly upon the wooden staff as the elemental heart seemed to glow, giving the room a sort of settling warmth to it and she then began her descent from the basement of her home, and out into the Amusement Park, that was now a smoldering ruin.
Smoke rose high into the sky, though it didn't reach past the illusionary barrier, seeming to disappear as it touched it. What appeared to be a large plane jutted form the wooden landscape and fire leapt from it, trying to spread; trying to consume everything within its path as all fire did. Angelica flew above the steadily burning park, her healing flames going out as it purified the wounds of those that the plane had damaged, though Marie knew they would not be of use soon. Marie however knew, or had an ideas where the person was and she had no need to rush. This was her park afterall and this was where she had the most control, where only the foolish would dare tread. Elena Marie was a god here and this person would feel the wrath of a god.
”Whereve you are Michael, I hope you're safe.” She muttered stepping around what looked like a section of a planes wing, curious as how someone could even manage such a feat. Even the most muscular of meta humans could not lift a plane of such size, yet here one lay torn to pieces within her own base. Arrogance was obvious here but something more than that, as if it was subtle mockery within itself.
The closer that Elena drew to the entrance of the Park, the more frequent the bodies of her artificial humans became and wit,, ye they served as a sign that she was close. Soon enough she came upon a small group of strikingly similar people, yet that appearance alone was unmistakably familiar. ”Elena Vexus, why am I not surprised?” She said with mild amusement. ”Who else would have the gall to knock down my doors like this? Let alone tracking me down, though I suppose there is no escaping you is there.” She tapped the jewled end of her staff against the ground lightly. ”I assume this isn't a casual tea and scones event, because those usually don't involve planes being flown into my home." Her expression grew grave.
”What is it you want?”

Re: This is how God Loses a Bet
Vexus was pleased to see Ms.Elena Marie on the approach. One of her minions flew about healing what was left of the beings she had crushed only moments ago. She couldn't help but smile as Marie immediately recognized her as Elena Vexus. If her memory served her correctly, which it did about 100% of the time, Marie had not yet seen Elena in this body. Though her 'taste' in appearances had not changed over the the last few bodies so it may have been easy to pick her out.
"Do you like?" she said taking a pose and running her hands out in front of her showing off her body, twisting her ankle left and right showing off her red-soled shoes as well. "A lot of effort went into this one." She put her hands back on her hips and flipped her hair.
"Be though as it may, this is not the reason I have crashed a plane into your lovely abode. Due to recent discoveries in my work, I require more of an... outside source, so to speak." She moved her hands to behind her back as she continued with her speech.
"To make a lengthy story into one which would not take as much time to tell, I have trapped myself in this mechanical body and need to ascend to greater heights and I cannot preform such a feat with technology alone. With you being the foremost authority in the magical arts, I have come for you. Now the process that I require you for it is not necessary for you to be alive. This is mostly because I can image you being much more cooperative when dead."
Vexus brought her arms to her side and stood straight up as her proposal of sorts neared an end.
"It is cliche, though I must ask if you would like to do this the easy way, or the hard way..." with the conclusion of this sentence, the sword by the name of Helios appeared in her right hand. She rotated her wrist around, spinning the sword in a circle as she waited for the obvious answer.
Taking out Marie would be the hard part, she would easily be able to run a hole through the rest of the crew once the leader had been exterminated. However only in due time, as she would need to extract the information and power that Marie held and upgrade herself before taking on any further projects. Loss was not an option. By the end of this battle she would undoubtedly be damaged beyond repair and need this upgrade if she wanted to survive. The perfect combination of science and magic in one being. Vexus would be immortal and untouchable. Even more so than she already is, or believed that she was.

Re: This is how God Loses a Bet
”You sound sure that you could actually defeat me Vexus. “ Elena Marie noted tapping the ehad of her staff lightly against the dusty earth, as the gem glew a deep red color as what looked like fire crept from it and began to snake along the ground to surround the mage. It formed a powerful and hot ring around her, one that strangely did not effect the Crimson Witch herself, but that alone was not something that mattered within this circumstance. ” I must say I applaud your gall if nothing else. There are few who would be so foolish as to walk into my home and proclaim their intent to kill me, but then again you are not average.”
She slammed the wooden end hard against the ground and the ring of fire flared upwards, almost as a sort of intimidation tactic as her mind ran through the man ways that she could kill this woman. ” I have no intention of going along with your convoluted scheme, and in fact perhaps its time I taught you a lesson in humility.” The ring parted around the center revealing the red haired sorceress, whose eyes now glowed form the light cast by the flames; like small emeralds within her skull. None of the killers within her employ were here to see what was to transpire and perhaps it was best that this happened; best that they not get in the way of the wrath of Elena Marie.
She pointed the staff at Vexus, letting the fire coalesce into a single sphere in what seemed like an instant. A small sphere so hot that any human too close to it would have found themselves already covered by server burns, and even the ground itself melted against this sweltering heat. Magical energy filled the area, energy so dense that the air felt thick, and anyone with the slightest sense of magical awareness would find themselves overcome by it. The fireball then launched full speed towards the mechanical menace, flaring brightly as it did so, but then again Vexus was not made aware of the illusion cloaked orb of light trailing behind the fire ball.
Even if she blocked the powerful fireball, she would have the simple attack to contend with, which was dangerous within itself and her sensors would find the difference in heat nearly impossible; that being if Elena weaved the Illusion correctly. She was not going to play around with this mechanical bitch; who's destiny was to be a scrap heap at the foot of this sorceress. Still, knowing Vexus, that ploy was not likely to work.

Re: This is how God Loses a Bet
Vexus stayed on alert as the witch spoke. Her staff seemed to be generating a deep red light, which her scanners confirmed was giving off a significant amount of heat. With this should could guess what might be coming next. Slamming the end of her staff into the ground, Marie caused a ring of flames to circle up around her. Elena's vision flooded with dark red as the head blinded her while viewing the world through an infrared spectrum. Quickly shifting her right eye to a normal view she kept her left eye on the infrared setting in order to measure the head that was being given off. With the temperatures that it was reaching now her defenses would not be able to adequately withstand the heat.
When Marie pointed the staff at her, she wasted no time reacting and switched the Nephthys sword that her clone held out with the Vulcan sword and Vexus held her Helios sword at the ready. The sorceress let off the blasts of fire and her clone swiftly moved into the path of the attack and confidently slashed at the fireball allowing the sword to absorb a significant amount of thermal energy from the blast. What remained of the blast was easily smothered by the clones. To Vexus' surprise, the second blast of fire was not absorbed by Vulcan even though it gave off heat as well. Elena held the Helios sword up and braced for impact, but yet again her initial thoughts proved wrong. The blast was mostly absorbed by her sword, the rest having just enough force to push back slightly.
Assessing the damage, her combat clone only had a couple of spots on its person where the heat form the blast had melted her exterior layer or skin and she had not taken anything significant as most of the attack had been absorbed. Since the second blast had been mostly absorbed by her Helios sword it meant that the attack was light based. Going over her recorded data again, the second blast of heat was similar in temperature to the first one, but not exact. She allowed too large of a margin for error figuring that Magic was not always 100% the same every time unlike how with science no matter how many times you do the equation 2+2 the answers will be 4 every time. The now occurring problem was how Marie had disguised the blast of light as a blast of fire. Magic, yes, that was the easy explanation. But Vexus needed something more solid, what kind of technique did she use? What sort of tactic could she personally use to see through the illusion? And it hit her. Was it and illusionary technique that was being used? If so, then there would be no definite way to differentiate between the two types of blasts. Elena could hope to calibrate her sensors with a little more detail and hope for the best. She would also be using both her Vulcan and Helios swords which would absorb them for what they were, not being fooled by illusions and operating off facts.
"Fire? I was expecting something a little more complex from such an acclaimed sorceress" Elena played it off as if there had been no difference between the blasts. She did not need Marie figuring out her abilities, or that of her weapons, right off the bat. Ms.Marie didn't seem to be using the same tactics revealing already that she had fire and light based abilities. However Vexus was nowhere near convinced that this was all she was capable of.
On second thought, a little demonstration of power may be in order.
"Allow me to show you where technology has taken even simple concept, like fire, and transformed it into something far more powerful..."
Vexus extended her arm outwards aiming at Marie. She gave a smirk and unleashed a powerful blast of black fire from her palm wide enough to engulf your average human. The blaze she sent fourth was slightly warm and would sting rather than burn. It would be the feeling of trillions upon trillions of microscopic nanomites devouring flesh until there is nothing. The pseudo flames would continue to burn even under situations where fire would normally be extinguished. This being only a fraction of what Vexus is truly capable of, things were only just getting started.

Re: This is how God Loses a Bet
One of Vexus clones held a sword up at the blast, as if it would aid them in anyway against the fireball, though in fact it seemed to do just that. Within a matter of moments most of the fireball had be negated, and in its wake only a tiny flame that did little damage to the damned close as the sphere of light made its way straight towards Vexus still in the guise of fire. Still, it seemed even her ruse of an attack was weakened by this damn sword, but how was unknown to her. Perhaps this woman had come more prepared than initially thought to defeat the Sorceress, but simple tricks alone would not allow her to win. If she thought that was all it took, then perhaps she truly underestimated Elena Marie.
It was time that she tried a more strategic approach, one that she was truly unsure would work. ”I have more than that parlor trick in store for you.” She said in retort, preparing for what appeared to be the bionic females next attack. She released a strange looking black fire, something Elena usually equated with the very flames of a particular hell dimension, though how could technology have crafted something like this? It couldn't be fire, considering that there was no “natural” fire that could take on such a dark hue, so it had to be something else but whatever it was; Marie would not let it near her. If this woman would doubt the power of her magics, maybe she needed a more potent demonstration of what she was capable of, though how to go about that was a different story.
First it would require that she deal with the damn combat clone, though something told her that would be less than easy considering that it was likely that she programmed that bastard specifically for combat. With a wave of her staff, fire hot enough to possibly defeat the blast was sent out, though if nanites could consume fire was unknown. With that done with, it was time that she went on with the second part of her plan, but that would have required that she had a little support and her minions were a bit indisposed at the moment, but that could easily be remedied within moments. Forming a single orb of light energy within her palm, Marie let it go unseen by the Bionic Goddess, letting it fall to the ground. Seeming to meld with the ground, blanketed by an illusion of the highest grade, and one that she was sure would do the trick for keeping it hidden.
”I'm not impressed. If you call that powerful, you must be awfully daft.” She then drew upon the power of her hellfire band, letting the dark fires coalesce, though painting a picture of normal fire with her illusions. It came to form a single sphere of fire within her hand and she then aimed it at Vexus, knowing full well that her clone would attempt to black it with the assumption it was normal fire.

Re: This is how God Loses a Bet
Vexus gave a smirk as she watched Marie appropriately counter her nano-fire with her own magic based fire. They were even for a moment before Vexus' fire began to devour Marie's, though the heat of Marie's flames caused the nanomites to burn up after the flames had been ingested. It was pleasing to have an individual that could participate on the same level as her. A challenge is indeed a privilege especially in this world, it will be a shame once Marie is no more as there will be no one else to stand in her way.
To her disappointment, Ms.Marie brought to life another fire based attack after commenting on her lack of amusement to Vexus' Nano-fire. Elena knew that this witch was much smarter than to use the same trick twice after witnessing that it had failed. Scanning the flames, it gave off the same readings as the fire before so she knew that this attack was at least giving off heat in some way. In addition, she summoned this fire in a different method than she had all the flames before. There must have been something off with this fire and Vexus would not fall for it. In using the Vulcan sword to absorb the initial blast it had already taken in most of its heat capacity and would need to release soon. Being unsure what sort of blast this was going to be, her and her clone threw both swords which spun forward like Frisbees parallel with each other on a crash course with Marie's attack.
Vexus watched closely as the weapons closed in on the attack and once in range she witnessed as most of the attack's power was absorbed into the Vulcan sword, which would now be ready to release its heat. Elena aborted had the Helios sword's path curve out and around as Vulcan continued forward. Getting as close as it could, the weapon released the heat it had stored in a visible sphere around the sword in a 50 feet radius. Helios returned to Vexus' and stuck itself in the ground next to her while she held up her hands and released more of her Nanofire, this time in a much higher volume aiming to consume Marie and Elena's own sword. However due to the high nanomite count within the sword, the fire would not affect it as they would not try to destroy their 'brethren' so to speak.
After she commenced her attacks, she reached into the inside of her glove and pulled out a lipstick and began to apply it generously to her lips. After rolling and smacking her lips together she capped the custom cosmetic product and placed it out of view in her cleavage, saving it for later. Her two clones remained at her side, staying alert for any attacks that might be sent out in the action from any direction.
Things were going according to plan.

Re: This is how God Loses a Bet
So it seemed like the blade no only absorbed fire but heat as well, which was what most of her weapons seemed to do and with even light magic made useless, this was likely not to end well for the witch; but she had not given up yet. Not only that, but it seemed to release the absorbed heat around them in what looked like a rapidly expanding sphere that would decimate almost anything within its path and Marie was one of those thing. However, no matter how powerful the wave was, The Crimson witch was confident within her abilities to at least ward off any attack thrown at her.
She tapped a left foot lightly against the ground, as what seemed like a cube of light energy sprang around her, forming an effective barrier that took the brunt of the heat energy and yet stood. So it seemed that Vexus was ready for anything that Marie could throw at her, or she made it seem as such. Still, the woman did not seem to fully understand what she was fully capable of, but that would be shown soon enough; when she pulled out everything that she had. She then released more of her damn black fire, but as if that would afford her any advantage within this fight. Marie responded in kind with a wave of fire to meet the nanites and destroy tham.
'So it seemed anything I have within my arsenal is useless against her.” She noted sourly. That was when the sound of a high powered rifle firing pierced the air, and a bullet came spiraling towards Vexus, though it was far more powerful than your average round. It was a round imbued with enough spirit power to puncture a tank and keep going, and surely enough to damage Vexus. It seemed like Michael was coming through afterall.[/color]

Re: This is how God Loses a Bet
Ms.Marie elegantly defended herself against the heat released by her sword as well as releasing more fire in order to destroy her nanomites. It seemed that in order to defeat this acclaimed sorceress she would only have to step it up just a few more notches. Elena's attacks towards Marie were negated, but just barely. On the other hand, Marie's attacks towards Vexus were easily dealt with, and if this witch did not step up her game soon, there would not be much left of her.
Vexus took a hold of the Helios sword in her left hand as the Vulcan sword returned to the clutches of her Combat Clone, whilst the other stood by in waiting. It would be put to good use soon enough.
Just as Vexus was going to execute her next move the sound of a gun rang out. The shot came from far too close for Elena or any of her clones to react fast enough. The bullet connected with her left shoulder. To her absolute surprise the shot contained much more power that initially detected as it tore straight through her body blasting her left arm off and with it a section of her collar bone. She stumbled heavily to the right before finally catching herself and holding the damaged left side with her right hand. A little ways off she could see a male individual approaching, his identity was unknown but the weapon he wielded was deadly. Once he came closer she would scan his weapon properly in order to prepare a counter strategy, something like that would need to be removed quickly. What perplexed her the most was how she, or any of her clones, were unable to detect his presence as he approached. Could it have been another one of Marie's illusions cloaking him?Her magic would indeed be a task when put up against Vexus' technology.
Her clone moved as quickly as it could and grabbed the detached left arm which was still gripping the Helios sword and brought it over to the now damaged Elena. The sword hovered out of the hand and into the clones hand that was not holding her arm. The clone held the arm up to the damaged area and the nanomites extended out and latched onto the arm pulling it into place. It was not yet functional, as there was still damage that needed to be repaired before she regained full control of her arm.
"Well... That was unexpected..." she said in a distasteful tone as she looked upon Marie's new friend.
"I'm flattered that you needed to call in reinforcements. This means I'll just have to try that much harder..."
Vexus held up her hand preparing to launch more nano-fire as the Clone with the Helios sword held the weapon at attention. The Combat Clone held Vulcan for one moment, and then in a flash and a low hum the fire-based sword vanished and the sword by the name of Joan of Arc appeared in its hands. According to Vexus' readings, since the Helios sword had absorbed an attack it had shortened the time that was required to charge before the sword could release attacks of its own. How Marie would respond to light based attack similar to her own would be interesting indeed.
Simultaneously all three of the combatants launched an attack at Marie and her partner. The first clone, an intense wave of highly condensed photons. The Combat Clones struck the ground with the sword and sent a powerful wave of reverberating kinetic energy through the earth over turning rocks as it traveled forward towards the duo. Finally, Vexus launched more of her black flames towards the two of them, increasing the volume yet again. She would need to keep the volume of attacks up to hopefully overpower the both of her opponents as quickly as possible. The faster that she could conclude this fights, the less damage she would most likely sustain. Unfortunately Vexus needed to wait until her arm healed before she activated her defenses. One, because the connection to the weapon located on her forearm was damaged and two because activation of the close rage defense would slow her repair to an almost halt due to the dispersion of nanomites. Even using high volume attacks caused her healing process to slow slightly as it pulled more nanites from repair programming into offensive programming. There was much more thought that went into each and every one of Vexus' moves than what meets the eye. The amount of calculations and scenarios that were gone through each second would cause a cerebral melt down in any average or even above average being. This is why Vexus who she was, this is how power made its strides forward. By surpassing everything and everyone by leaps and bounds.

Re: This is how God Loses a Bet
Michaels sudden interruption of the seemingly one sided fight was a welcome one, considering how out matched Marie seemed at the moment and the damage that it caused was wonderful. A single shot cleanly tore the robotic woman’s arm off, and even tore deeper into her body than that, leaving her for the most part weakened. That however did not seem to weaken her black fire, nor did it slow down her clones which were hard at work. That only meant that she would have put twice as much effort if she wanted to kill this bitch and end the pointless fighting. 'Took you long enough.”
”I think I was right on time. Took her arm clean off too, so I think I deserve a thank you” Michael noted placing the next shell in his high powered rifle, one that seemed to radiate with pure spirit energy.
”Where is everyone else?”
”They should be healing up right now, and Alexandra is probably gonna be here any second.” he said placing a single incendiary shot within the chamber of the gun and aiming it at Vexus, while the mechanical woman prepared her next deadly attack. It started with the strange black fire that she seemed to be using mostly within this confrontation, one that negated even her most powerful of abilities. Following suit was a powerful wave of energy that was likely to shear through any pathetic defense that Elena could hope to muster up on her own.
If even to slow down oir weaken the attack, Michael launched the rather potent round into the attack and in a monment is burst into a wave of spirit infused fire that met the black fire admirably, but in the end the black fire managed to break through. For the most part it was hindered, but a remnant of it still headed the powerful onslaught, but the time bought was more than enough as Michael had already begun moving in an attempt to get out of the way and was well on his way of doing so. That left Marie in the way of the attack, and that left her with the most brilliant idea possible really.
The crimson witch shot a sphere of light in the air that cast a painful glare far too bright too look through, of course aided by illusionary prowess and with that in place everything was ready. Marie felt herself lifted and as swift as the wind she was moving out of the way of the attack that was aimed to end her, though an illusionary double was left in her place, and it would be the one to feign death temporarily. Her savior, none other than Alexandra the Flash was already making her way to a different section of the park and more of the minions were on their way to give the bionic Goddess a welcome they ahd been denied before.

Re: This is how God Loses a Bet
Vexus kept pushing her attacks forward, her new friend attempted to dampen her moves with a gunshot similar to the one which had taken off her arm moments ago. Marie then released a very bright and powerful blast of light that blinded her. The level of light that was given off was shockingly far too bright for even her systems to cut through. After a short moment, the light subsided partially being absorbed by her sword and the two of them appeared to fall defeated on the ground. Vexus' eye narrowed inspecting the corpses thinking that this had been far too easy. She sent the two swords flying into the bodies of Marie and her assistant. When the weapons made contact the two of them faded away into nothing. Vexus cursed under her breath, their escape was buying them precious seconds and she could not afford to lose.
"Find them! Now! Tear apart this pathetic place and leave nothing unturned... They shall not escape me..."
Knowing that this Witch could easily be using more of her illusions in order to hide her and her new friend from her sensors she would need to level this place and remove all places worth hiding.
Elena set off with her two clones to scour the park in order to find the cowards. The first thing them came across was an area and building with a smaller entrance labeled "House of Horrors". Vexus rolled her eyes and sent a clone in with the Helios sword in order to illuminate the darker corners or the establishment. After a moment, a wave of light energy bursted through the ceiling of the venue, followed by a few more. The clone jogged out of the building as it collapsed and Vexus set the rubble a blaze with her black flames. They had not hid there so they continued on looking for more places they could hide.
"Maire, this is not like you at all..." she called out trying to instigate her out of hiding. Vexus took the Helios sword in her hand and struck the ground behind her sending a blast of light energy through the earth completely tearing up the ground. Following she swung the sword in more random directions sending powerful waves of energy tearing through whatever they struck in the park. She saw a candy stand an motioned for her combat clone to grab it.
"Pull!" The clone lifted and threw the cart into the air. Vexus made her hand into a gun shape and shot a quick blast of fire at it. The sweets stand fell to the ground with a thud as Vexus and her ladies waltzed by.
"I could do this all day. If you don't show yourself soon, there won't be much to hide behind..." Speaking confidently, she was still being extremely cautious. She could not take her chances with the weapon that had struck her earlier. The arm it had blown off had been properly reconnected, but was not 100% ready for combat operations.
Where Elena stood currently must have been a general walking area of the park as she was out in the open. Not was too close to her, but yet not too far. An ideal ambush spot. Her and her clones formed a triangle being about twenty feet away from each other. The combat clone held the Helios sword and the other the Joan of Arc. Taking precautionary measures, Vexus activated her Carbon Nanotube defense. This way, incase an attack was thrown she would be able to somewhat withstand the damage. Her next question was how Marie was able to move to quickly. Maybe the guns man was not only accurate but fast as well. Possibly a teleportation spell? Whatever the case may be they couldn't have gone far and the sequin-clad android was prepared for an onslaught. Being inorganic, there would be no definite limit to how long she can continue combat. As a meat bag, Marie and her goons would eventually wear down and be easy picking for her and her droid, assuming her droids lasted that long.

Re: This is how God Loses a Bet
The world was all a blur for the Crimson Witch, yet she knew who her savior was and a sense of gratitude swept through her as she was dropped off at her own section of the park, with around five minutes to do what she had to before Vexus reached this section. ”Keep her busy, i'll have the weapon ready in only three minutes.” Elena commanded the swift homunculi before rushing through the front door of the rather dreary mansion. Nothing had been touched as of yet, and that meant everything had been left as Marie last remembered it; with the weapon at the lowest level. While she did this, the five lieutenants made their moves to slow down the raging robot.
Marian watched over the carnage curiously, the rapier clutched tightly within lithe fingers as an aura of frost emanated from it and chilled the air around it. ”Alexandra, IU want you to deal with those goons of her, be swift and decisive. Ivan, you do the same in that werewolf form of yours and help her out. Me, Lucy and Angelica will give aerial support.”
”You go it.” Alexandra agreed and was off, rushing through the burning ruins as the Cyborg came into sight and the white hulking wolf was close behind her. ”Hey! Tacky bitch with the black fire!” She was a blur, aiming a powerful kick to take the head off of one of the clones, while Ivans claws swapt for the others midsection, aiming to tear in in two.

Re: This is how God Loses a Bet
Vexus and her drones spotted movement coming across the blazing wreckage, and very fast movement at that. Elena was alerted immediately and took to action. Since the calculated speeds of the incoming opponents were greater than what her systems could follow, her combat clone would be dealing with most of the action. She relinquished remote control of the swords to it so that it could utilize them more efficiently. Vexus took a couple of steps back and her two clones moved in front of her. First, an female with long dark hair rushed in aiming a powerful kick towards the combat clone. Letting go of both the swords they floated up behind as she formed a defensive block with her arms. Catching sight of another beast closing in, the Clone gave control of the swords back to Vexus as she would not be able to adequately fight this woman while trying to defend with the other Android as well.
Vexus took the two swords and defended in front of her other clone as the wolf slashed at its midsection. The weapons pushed back keeping the beast at bay, one of the swords flew into the hands of the Enhanced clone as things began to heat up with the two. They clashed swords left and right. Weaving through a plethora of moves, combat styles both offensively and defensively it was clear that technology and magic where evenly matched, or so it seemed. The combat clone was slowly being overpowered as its speed and strength was not quite on the same level as this woman's. The clone released a wave of light energy that only pushed back this individual giving the clone valuable seconds for Vexus to recalculate a combat strategy. Simultaneously, Elena continued to defend for the other clone against the wolf. Things were beginning to get out of hand and Vexus was losing her edge. Her radar then picked up three more incoming and they needed a little bit of cover from the impending aerial strike. The three of them quickly moved together, back to back, Vexus and her non-combative clone began to release a thick toxic smog from their mouths that covered the three of them and began to expand towards the wolf and the swords-woman. It was a highly potent Neuro-toxin that would quickly render any organic individual totally motionless.
To Vexus' disappointment, the gas did not provide much cover from the aerial attacks. Beams of what reports indicated to be concentrated light particles struck all three of them before Elena could construct a dome of her black flames around them for added protection. Her combat clone would still be able to fight, however the other took quite a bit of damage. Elena personally only suffered from a scorch mark on her dress, but would have taken far more damage if her defense had not been active. Being able to see through her own nanites, Vexus was able to take aim at the three flying rats while the two clones prepared to attack their two of Marie's henchmen.
The fire dispersed and Vexus launched a blanket of black flames up towards the three while her combat clone again engaged with the longhaired woman. The heavily damaged clone made its way towards the wolf, mostly trying to put some distance from Vexus and the combat clone. The beast ran in for an attack on the clone and once it was close enough the Clone self-destructed hoping to catch the animal in the blast.
The combat clone continued to fight, however was overpowered much more quickly due to the new damage that it had sustained. The woman plunged her weapons deep into the clone causing irreversible damage. The two swords fell from its hands, but stopped bit air before they hit the ground and flew back over to Vexus. The impaled clone grabbed tightly onto the swords and pulled herself closer to her killer, obscuring the woman's direct line of sight towards Elena. The androids mechanical eyes glared into those of the magical being and from a distance Vexus fired a full powered blast of nano-lightning from her fingertip that would completely obliterate her clone, but also aimed to kill, if not heavily mane, this aid to Marie.
With her ability to condense her nano-mites into a tight, powerful stream of what appeared to be lightning now revealed, she figured it would only be fair to soon demonstrate it in full. The most recently launched attacks heavily drained Vexus' supply of nano-mites and she would need to take a small moment in order to manufacture more. She hoped now that the sacrifice of her clones was not in vain. Though disposable, they were proving to be very useful in this fight. Elena was sure that the bats above her would not be so easily done away with by her nano-fire and would need to focus her next efforts on exterminating them. Wherever Marie was hiding, she would be found. Staying out of sight for such an extended period of time was too suspicious for either of the Elenas. There was a high probability that she was plotting something. Something drastic. Vexus ran a few final calculations on the weapon fused to her right forearm thinking that it may be the cause of her salvation or damnation in this battle of otherworldly proportions.

Re: This is how God Loses a Bet
The clash between the homunculi and the clones was a quick and brutal one, damage sustained by both, but in the end it was the superior numbers on their side that gave them the advantage. With the superior speed of Alexandra, and Ivans overwhelming strength, they found them, selves pushing them back and the aerial support was only adding nails to that coffin. That was until one of them blew up in Ivans face and sent the were wolf raging, with blood seeping into his eyes and some of the white fur singed an ugly black where the skin was not burnt horribly.
Marian now joining the fray, plunged her weapon deep within one of the clones, as the frost slowy began to seep over its body, and freeze it from the inside out. Soon enough it would have been to fragile to move, let alone threaten her in anyway, though before that stage, it grabbed tightly onto the Immortal Commander. Without a chance to move, she knew she could nto avoid the next attack to come, which was a powerful black lightning that was aimed at her and yet she was not scared as it tore through the clone and her torso. There was an indescribable pain that swept through her body, and barely what remained of her neck, and the head fell to the ground while the rest fell with her, though that was not the end.
Already her body had begun to knit itself back together, bits of blood trying to pull back towards the main and the imperceptible bits of bone doing the same. She would be whole again within a few minutes and that could no be said the same for the others, Angelica, whose left wing was now covered in the black fire and slowly being consumed as she spiraled out of control towards the ground with Lucy in hand. While lucy was unharmed from the fall, the flying healer was different, with a broken leg and bruised ribs as well as a wing that was not fastly being consumed. Alexandra noticed the calamity, and with her weapon in tow, swiftly sliced the wing off before it could lead to her body being consumed. The healer bit back a curse and dust and the strange cloud seemed to come upon them, and there was no way they could stop it now.
That was when a great wind blew that rid them of the toxins, as what seemed like a small squad of woman in white appeard and came to the aid of the wounded homunculi. Two came to the aid of Marian and Alexandra, casting white light upon them and expediting the healing process. Flesh aided by a healing factor of its own was seemingly reforming and soon enough Marian could speak, and Angelica found a wing reforming.
”Sorry to keep you waiting Vexus.” Maries voice seemed to boom over a loudspeaker still intact and if one had a sufficient vision they could see the red haired woman holding a small device and as well as an ivory trinket that could fit within a persons hand. There were 7 holes within its surface and only one of them had a strange looking small orb embedded within it, and it thrummed with radiant power. Energy coalesced in the center of the device and in an instant was sent as a high powered beam of pure mana at the robot, with enough power to destroy her and everything around her.

Re: This is how God Loses a Bet
Vexus had a confident glow to her seeing that she was able to damage the five henchmen even if only temporarily. It appeared that a number of them were blessed with remarkable healing capabilities. Black fire began to burn over her hands as she started to move in to obliterate what was left of Marie's little family. The toxic cloud was approaching the group of three slowly and smirked knowing that would be their downfall. Making her way over to the regenerative being a great gust of wind blew over the park and rid the area of the poisonous cloud.
Hearing those words, in that voice. It was time for the Reaper to claim his prize. Vexus spun around to face Marie when her scanners caught sight of the item which she held in her hand. Zooming in a few times on this object there was a glowing orb of energy. Upon further analytical inspection her systems were not able to calculate the amount of power that had been condensed into a single point. It was a miniature Big Bang waiting to happen. It would annihilate everything with an absolute zero chance of survival. Something so immense in complexity that even Vexus feared the result of its use.
Without another thought, Vexus activated her Anti-Matter Glove. The artificial skin covering the defensive mechanism instantly evaporated and the shield roared to life. Not a moment later did Marie unleash her weapon. Putting her arm up, Elena's Anti-Matter shield condensed to a wall in front of her just as the now condensed beam of unknown energy collided with her defense.
It was all happening much too quickly. The readings of her Glove's performance were flooding in and they were not positive. It was overloading. Whatever energies were in this beam, it was not something that could be efficiently countered by Anti-Matter. The shield began to fold in on itself and eventually collapsed inward bringing the beam in with it. There was nothing Vexus could have done to protect herself against this. She knew what overloading her Glove meant and there was no stopping it.
The combined explosions of the overloading Anti-Matter device and the blast Marie had fired was catastrophic having the potential to be seen from miles away. The shockwave could have shaken the entire state. The crater left behind took up almost the entire park, however the dent in the earth differed to others around the world. The ground had been blasted smooth. Completely flat. The combined efforts of the Magical blast and the most powerful Technology-based explosion removed the matter that had once filled in the crater from existence completely. The level of destruction went down to the subatomic level. The Laws of Nature would fail to explain what had just transpired here. Nothing could have possibly survived a blast of this level.
But that's what Nature says...
From the edge of the crater emerged a hand. It began to pull up the rest of a body, or at least what remained of a body. Who or what it had been could not be seen as the damage it had sustained was far beyond anything that could hope to be repaired. The humanoid form brought itself to its feet, or foot rather. There was only a right leg that remained and less than half of the left leg. As for the torso, all of the left side had been completely sheared off. A few wires hung here and there, but everything else had been destroyed. Some of the face shape could be made out. There was no hair, and not much covering the internal workings on the scalp. There was shape for a nose, one ear, eyes, and a jawline with an intact mouth. The right side was there, however the mechanical parts for the side and arms were heavily exposed. There was only one thing that seemed to have remained untouched in all of the carnage. A gauntlet of sorts that was on the remaining right hand. The destroyed robot brought the one hand up and looked at the gauntlet. What could be described as a smile formed on its face. Stumbling forward, it tried to keep its balance but fell to its knees using the one right arm for support. The images it saw through its eyes were blurred as its power-source was dwindling.
In the middle of it all. At Ground Zero for the second most impossible explosion the Universe has ever witnessed the goddess of technology, Elena Vexus, sat at its heart taking on the full power of the blast. It was tearing her apart atom by atom and in a matter of seconds there would be nothing left of her. Not even dust. She had been forced into its activation. Her experimental Void Gauntlet was the culprit of her survival. It must have transported her outside the current realm of existence into an empty dimension where she was safer. Judging by the amount of damage that she sustained it more than likely brought some of the explosion with her. There was no information to go by. Her systems were long gone. There were no sensors, no damage reports, nothing to tell her what had actually happened or the chances of it happening again.
Vexus was this impossibly damaged robotic being. Stripped to her most basic exterior she had fallen, and fallen very far. There was no hope for a full recovery. It was not even certain to her if she would be able to make it out of the park on her own energy. She could only hope that her distress signal had been launched at the time of her destruction and her clones would eventually make it to this location to help her reconstruction.
Elena tried to get back up again, but fell backwards. Looking at herself she tried to assess exactly how much damage she had taken. She still had full control of her right arm and leg, however her nano mites and her manufacturing system for them had been eradicated. Not even a little bit of the damage could be healed on site. Doing what she could, Elena slowly began pulling herself forward with her one arm aiming to find a location that may still be burning with her black flames. That way she could recruit what nano-mites still existed of hers to aid in her repair.
There was one thought that rang through her mind. One single idea that haunted her. Three words that would spell absolute demise for what remained of Elena Vexus...
"Sorry to keep you waiting Vexus"

Did Marie Survive...?
