New encounters..

Lafiana quickly made her way back to her underground office a few hundred feet away. she passed numerous plain white doors along the way. She silently looked at them as she passed, knowing what lies beyond. After a few minutes she reached her office and quickly changed. Putting on her tight black tank top, tight black skinny jeans and her combat boots. she pulled her black hair into a pony tail and everything in the room lit up with what must have been hundreds of her opaque screens. Her mind was running on overdrive most of the days now. Her mind was processing hundreds of pieces of information on dozens of research products. but most of them were analyzing every shred of code the human DNA strand has. Slowly she stepped back and her unfinished DNA strand of a human/kemmarii popped up in a 3D projection over the table. slowly she pulled out certain chromosomes and added some. a variety of information only a handful of the people in the world would understand changes slightly with each edit she makes.

She turns towards the door and it opens on it's own. She knew they were on the other side and she prepared herself while everything else was running. The DNA strand spinning slowly as it went untouched by her.

IC: Soulshade was finally given permission to take off the blindfold, and he did so with swift proportions, he didn't enjoy the lack of his sight. Soulshade would then walk with the machine known as "CORE", built by extraterrestrials who apparently, as according to the suspiciously informed driver, were known as the Kemmarii. Soulshade would quietly listen to CORE as he described his boss to Soulshade, their new visitor, and possible new ally. First, the machine informed him that she was young. "Great, that means she has a lot of energy, which means if I upset her, there's a high probability of an altercation occurring... just fucking great."

While Soulshade was busy worrying about the possibility that he would have to deal with a hothead of a woman, as this had always been the case when meeting one of the female species, CORE had taken the liberty of filling in Soulshade about the "standards" she set for her co-workers. Soulshade once again thought to himself, "Standards... more like orders, another problem with females is, why the hell are they so bossy? Despite my vast knowledge of many a subject, female psychology is not one of them, I'll never understand them.." Soulshade would finally respond to CORE's final remark about a world unseen, to which Soulshade remarked, "A world unseen? Well we'll see about that, I'm not all too sure what you're showing me is that far out of my depth." Soulshade would then finally continue towards the area with which he would finally encounter someone who could very well alter his destiny, he would finally meet this "Lafiana" character...

He knocked once and the door slid open. "I wasn't referring as to what I've been showing you, or not showing you. I was referring about what she what she's about to show you." The room was rather large, and it happened to be the biggest 'office' room in the complex. The glow an hum of the machinery and electronics filled the air. He stepped in first, and promptly moved to the side of the door. "I'll let you handle the rest," he nodded to Lafiana, who stood a small distance away, "if you need me to do anything, I'll be right here." With that, he put his hands at his sides, and maintained a somewhat statuesque pose, staring straight forward.

The girl watched the two figures walk into her office. She looked upon soulshade for the second time that same day except with a completely different persona. Her real persona this time. her long black hair still in the draft-less cool air of her office as her cold white eyes looked into the mans eyes. She was sure that him, like all others, could see her calculating everything in her mind. "Good afternoon CORE. And welcome to The Abraxis Corporation soulshade. I am sure a few things were explained to you. Just as I am sure my colleague here mentioned me more then once to you." Her voice was soft and lyrical, but had a hint of menace to it. "First off I will let you know that any electronics that you have on your person will not work within this room. So even if you were stupid enough to wear a wire and were part of another organization, they would receive no knowledge of what we are doing here. Nor will they find our location. If you decide not to join us then your mind will be forcibly erased and you will have no knowledge of ever being approached by us."

"I know this seems cold however our true purpose must remain secret from the world. On the outside we are simply a pharmaceutical company achieving great things never thought possible. Of course this, I am sure you know. I have to ask what else you know. What were you told by CORE? If we are to continue this meeting I must know." She turned from him and walked to a wall, scrolling through some data and keeping her back towards the man. the screen in front of her flickered as she changed pages through the data. To anyone who didn't know her, she would appear to not be paying much attention. To those who did... Knew exactly what she was doing.

Soulshade walked calmly, with a hint of stealth, across the floor of the facility, making his way towards his big encounter with the "big boss" of Abraxis Corp, the woman who solely was controlling events leading up to the "resurrection" of an nearly extinct species. Soulshade's mind was clear, free of thoughts at the moment, for he was focused on nothing but the meeting ahead. His footsteps would grace the floor of the facility with swiftness, he was not hurrying toward the encounter, he was simply naturally a fast walker.

The meeting would finally begin, and in the first glimpse of Lafiana, the two extraordinary figures staring eye to eye. Each would exchange a look of seriousness, they were two tough figures in the metahuman world, and neither could inspire fear or worry in the other. As Lafiana spoke, she expressed a rather emotionless welcome into their facilities, as expected of a scientist who focused only on her work. Her tone however, was soft yet menacing, something which did not frighten Soulshade, only annoyed him. She expressed the uselessness of electronic devices while inside this room they were confined in. Soulshade would immediately respond to an insinuation that he would plan something so basic and cowardly, "A wire, or some backup? No, if I wanted to plan any hostile actions, here is what I would do. I would come here willingly to your facility, engage in this chance to speak with you, and did you know what I would do then?"

Soulshade would wait a few moments before answering, it would be somewhat enjoyable for Lafiana to try her own guesses in her mind, until he finished this hypothetical scenario, with the utmost confidence in himself, "I would kill every single person within this facility, and destroy all evidence of its existence. However, since neither of you are dead yet, you should know I don't plan on partaking in such hostile action. So put your minds at ease." If Lafiana thought her statements were "cold", then Soulshade's hypothetical scenario must be "freezing". Soulshade would then respond to her question about what CORE had filled in him on, To be quite honest, CORE has kept me most "out of the loop", as you might say. All I know is your supposed to be the head of this operation, and your harnessing new technologies from an extinct species known as the Kemmarrii. Obviously if you're harnessing this alien technology and allying with them, as well as suspiciously snooping in the meta-human community, the most logical assumption is some sort of "hybrid" being from the two."

Soulshade was quiet for a few more moments, he was most intelligent, a useful yet dangerous trait for those who wanted to keep things from him, and it was something he felt would be his downfall one day. Soulshade would then continue, "Anyways, I suppose such an opportunity is rare to join a project. However I caution you, this sort of project is one many would find... "dangerous". Many would not be as "open-minded" to this endeavor as yours truly. Tread carefully Lafiana... and I suggest you make your recruitment efforts less.... open in the future. The property damage alone from CORE's retrieval of me could raise questions, not to mention future disappearances of metahumans, even if they are for a short duration. Secrecy is one of the most powerful tools for an organization, remember that." Soulshade would then finish his dialogue of this meeting very bluntly, "If you care for my services as both an agent and a scientist, then... shall we get to work?"
