Why do I always find fancy places when I am about to leave?

If I think about all the times I have introduced myself in rp-based forums, it almost moves me to tears: all the beauties and the horrors of this strange world we live in I have missed, to stay in front of my pc creating fake lives one post after the other, instead of going out there and living mine...

Anyway, here we go again: my name, as you can read here on the left, is Tomas Elliot, and the fact that Florence is in Italy implies that I live in that Country. Indeed, I was born there.
And don't get me wrong, I kinda love my Country, even if after talking to me for like 5 minutes in any cbox it may seem otherwise. It is just that italian people are... Ok this is not the right time and place to get deep into this matter. Let's just say that I recently threw away a 6-years-long rp experience which included being the boss of Italy's most succesful wrestling e-fed, simply because I grew sick of having to deal with people from my same Country. It is just that I started roleplaying in an international forum about Yugioh, and I found out that the daily harrassment / quarreling / power-hunger that I had to withstand on daily basis in any italian forum I was involved with simply didn't exist in foreign forums.
And thus I said "screw this, I am roleplaying only in English from now on".
Which has brought me quite a lot of problems, actually: it is not easy feeling accepted and loved in communities of mostly American people, simply because I rarely get to talk to the guys I am roleplaying with outside of the rp topics. Because yeah, cboxes are there for a reason, but timezones are there too. And staying up 'till 4 AM is something you can only do a couple of times, better if non-consecutive.
But even this is better than the stuff I saw in 6 years of italian forums. Seriously, you'd never believe me.

I don't know how I came up with the idea of a superhero-themed rp. Maybe because I have been many things in my life (from a long-time member of PokemonOnline and DuelingNetwork under the name Tears of tomorrow, to the aforementioned wrestling e-fed boss with my current nickname, not to mention the student in a duel academy and the Digimon tamer. Hell, even a ninja for a while), but I've never ben a superhero / villain. Maybe because yesterday night (or I should say this morning) I watched X-Men 2, a movie I hadn't seen before because truth be told I am not a fan of Marvel-themed movies, and chances are that a young male whose girlfriend lives too far from him to be the object of that kind of attentions (we only manage to see each other like once every 3 months) will only understand, of the whole plot of the movie, that Deathstrike is played by one of the hottest actresses alive. Or maybe it is just because pre-exam anxiety is killing me, and diversions are never enough.
Anyway, this morning I woke up feeling the urge to enlist in a superhero-themed rp forum. I asked my good old friend Google for a nice place to check out, and his answer brought me here.

Now the problem is I live alone in Florence 5 days per week in order to attend classes, and I return to my hometown to visit my parents during weekends. And given that internet is too fancy of a technologic innovation to be featured in the stereotypical countryside italian village (because that's exactly how my hometown looks like, hell it is even on top of a mountain), when I am at home with my parents being active on a forum of any sort is quite difficult for me.
Knowing this, could I discover and join this place on a monday of, say, november? Of course not, I had to discover and join this place on a thursday afternoon, just one hour before having to go to a class, and to make things worse it is already the last week of may, meaning that next week might be the last I'll fully spend in Florence, meaning that after then being active on any forum of any sort will be a pain for me untill next september.

But oh well. I found this place, I liked it a lot, I just had to join. It isn't the first time this happens to me, and it probably won't be the last.
I spent the last 30 minutes reading all the rules, which left me with a huge headache and a couple (well, actually a bit more) of questions about how things work around here. But oh well, this post is dangerously coming closer and closer to cross the wall-of-text line, so I will just shut the hell up for now and ask them in another post, possibly in another topic.

Tl;dr: I am Tomas Elliot, welcome to my deranged mind, make yourself at home. If all you think about me after reading this whole thing is that I am an attention whore, it is probably because I am. I like calling it "an innate aptitude to make friends and interact with people": you will admit it sounds a lot better.
