Blasting through Washington D.C.

Hm... Nic thought for a second about his answers and then smiled. First kiss was you, honestly, but that doesn't mean you are the first person I have been near and liked. In fact my first relationship was back when I was thirteen and on the run from Lucifer while still looking for him. A girl from the nearby school in Maine, actually, was out roaming the streets with her friends when I stumbled across them with my face covered in blood and some rather annoying demons on my trail. Needless to say I was not in the mood to talk but that didn't stop her. She saw me and then looked at my wings and winked at me before I dashed down another street and collapsed from exhaustion. Later I found out that there had been someone watching me and had saved me from the hoard of demons. The girl, who was named Stephanie, had been persistent and when I woke up she tried to kiss me but I had been nervous so she decided it would be best to just leave that alone. Unfortunately later we skipped kissing entirely and some other things happened. I lost track of Stephanie a year later when I was forced to flee. It was about the time she had told me she was pregnant and now I think she might believe I am someone who only knocked her up and then left. The angel took a deep breathe and let it out slowly before continuing. Favorite place to hide would have to be the Garden of Eden just because I can actually gain access to the holy garden and the angels look upon me with protection. My favorite thing to do is to fly around and help those of my kind, fallen angels or children of angels, who need it by killing demons who hunt them. And my worst fear is that I might hurt you so bad that it will make you tell me to go away.

Salone's eyebrows shot up at the thought of Nicholas being a father. But she also felt a pang of envy, she could never have children without knowingly passing on her condition. But she didn't comment on it and listened to him talk. That was one of the few things she could actually do well and that was listen. Being a nursing student helped with that situation, patients tended to blabber on and on about things.
Her ears turned faintly red at what he said lastly.
"Don't worry it takes a lot to hurt me." Her voice was quiet, but it could be heard over the rustling of wind.

Nic nodded and thought about how he'd never even met the child who was his but quickly pushed that thought out of his head. So it's your turn to tell me about yourself. He smirked and brushed his fingers over Salone's lightly. I want to know about you. What your life is like and how it feels to be you.

"Um... let's see." Salone tilted her head back, looping around in the air so she could see where she was going. "I am from California, but you already knew that. I am a nursing student at the local college there during the spring and fall. I live with my best friend, Penny and our dog Sasha. Penny is twenty five and she is a doctor. I do not have any children in case you were wondering, except for my dog. Sasha is a spoiled rotten brat dog." Salone said this fondly.
"I am scared of not being to do anything worthwhile in my last nine years of life. My favorite hangout is in the window seat of Shar's Cafe with a good book and a thing of hot chocolate."
Salone shrugged, she didn't view herself as a very interesting person. But that was her point of view.

Nic was enjoying the heat of the sun as they flew over more land when he felt a chilling breathe of dark wind and some demon feeling went through his mind. He looked up and large groups of demons were appearing from the air around them and trying to encircle Nic and Salone. Nic looked down at Salone, who was flying steadily, and folded his wings in while aiming down in a dive. Losing altitude was easy but aiming when losing altitude wasn't as easy. Nic fell quickly and wrapped his arms around Salone protectively while folding his wings tighter against his back and forcing them to fall quicker. Still he could hear the chilling sound of dark wings behind them and the even more chilling sound of demonic chanting.

Salone looked up and for the second time that day she felt her blood turn to ice. Demons, the Nic slammed into her knocking her off balance. But she understood what he was doing. She folded her wings against her body and they dove faster. 100 above the ground Salone's wings flared out and she hit the ground and rolled. Her hands pulled out her gun, her eyes narrowing. Salone got onto her feet, her stomach clenched, her body readying itself to change if need be.
Then she remembered, she pulled out Penny's watch and put it on. Tightening the strap.

Nic rolled as they hit the ground and immediately was in a crouch with his hand already on a fallen piece of lead pipe that had been abandoned by some thugs that had been nearby. Quickly he unsheathed his knife with his other hand and glared at the demons who were flying in closer. Then four of them came at him and time seemed to slow down as Nic pushed forward into a military roll and ripped two of them apart with the dagger while bashing one over the skull with the lead pipe. Nic made it to a crouch again and saw that three demons had replaced the three he'd killed and more were joining them. Silently he cursed and looked over at Salone who was tightening a watch on her wrist.

I could use some help here. His words were clipped short as two demons tried to flank him and Nic was forced to back flip out of there reach only to be struck in the back by another who had gotten behind him. Nic reached back and grabbed the creature by its throat and used him as a meat shield before cutting down another four demons in quick succession right up until a swarm of them were around him and Nic was now the target of multiple attacks that he barely avoided.

Salone twisted the dial on the face watch and ran forward, roundhouse kicking a demon. She pulled all of the demons off Nicolas, during this time starting with her left hand she was being encased by black scales. The whirring of the machine filled her ears at it came alive. She launched several demons several hundred feet before pulling a gun out of her waistband and firing a bullet into several demon's brains. They crumpled turning into ash. The scale like armor was doing its job well and even moved with her shifting. After about five minutes she stood, panting, in large tiger form next to Nicholas' legs... Were they all gone?
Slowly, painfully she shifted back, the armor shrinking back into her friend's watch.
"Are they gone?" She breathed, her ears straining for any noise, any movement.

Nic panted as the demons disappeared but he knew something was wrong. He looked down and saw Salone start to shift back from a tiger form and stand next to him. Nic sighed and looked over her shoulder to see a demon who had been hiding trying to sneak up on her. With inhuman speed and reflexes Nic wrapped his arm around Salone and threw his dagger end over end into the demon's chest. The demon exploded into ash and was blown apart by the wind. They're gone now, I think. Thank you.

Salone sighed and then Nicolaus yanked her out of the way, throwing a dagger at a demon. It exploded into a cloud of ash that wafted over them. Salone started coughing and blood trickled out of the corner of her mouth. She wiped it away, tiredly.
"Thank goodness for that," Salone sighed, pushing blonde hair out of her face. Her fingers lingered on the watch as she debated to take it off. Deciding she unwrapped the strap of the watch and put it back in her bag.

Nic looked at his hand that still held the lead pipe and thought for a second before shoving it into his belt and looking at Salone. There was just too many attacks now and he could always use another weapon in hand when fighting these demons off. Nic saw the blood drip from the corner of Salone's mouth and his heart stopped beating until he saw her wipe it away. Still he was only able to get a gasp of breathe out before he wrapped his other arm around her and kissed her softly. He wasn't ready to lose Salone and it was all Nic could do to not cry from the shock of seeing her like that. Finally he pulled away and brushed his hair out of his face.

Are you alright? The words weren't what he'd wanted to say and because of that Nic had to say them falteringly and swallow a couple times to avoid saying out loud that he loved her and didn't want to lose her. He stared into her eyes and saw the pain there as well as the tiredness and some other things he couldn't identify. Nic wrapped his fingers through hers on both hands and waited for her to speak.

Salone caught the look on Nicolas' face right before he kissed her. The look of fear that had crossed his face made her feel guilty. The kiss was of desperation and was much more passionate than the last three had been. Salone drew a trembling breath after he pulled away.
"I'm fine Nicolas," Salone said, using her thumb to wipe a smudge of dirt off of his nose. "Honestly, i am. Coughing up blood is one of the symptoms of my condition. I'll be fine."
The girl look at his face trying to convince him.

Nic frowned and wiped away a bit of blood that had gotten on his lips. He wasn't sure why but Nic felt like he would die if anything bad happened to Salone. He sighed and wrapped his fingers through hers affectionately while staring into her eyes and hoping she would understand his concern. Okay that's good. As long as you are safe then I'm happy. The half angel looked around at the empty streets and kissed Salone again, this time softer and not as desperately.

Salone sighed and allowed him to kiss her one last time. 
"Nic, I do have somewhere I need to be," She reminded him, half laughing. She twisted away and darted through the sky. The wind whistled through her feathers and her hair flew behind her. She was determined to get to Maine.

Nic laughed and took off into the sky with very little effort. He breathed in the air and flew around for a while before heading toward Maine. If he ran into Salone again then so be it but Nic was pretty sure she was gone by now anyhow. Nic enjoyed the feel of the wind on his face and felt the slight disturbances in the air as he flew and had to remain at the correct height by correcting for wind speed and all of that.
