Blasting through Washington D.C.

Salone was half asleep when she saw the other angle, the way he looked at her and then laughed made her blood turn to ice, he knew she was dying and there was nothing Salone could do about it. She swallowed and buried her face in his chest, her fingers tightening of the fabric of the shirt. She heard him speak, there was something about listening to Nicolas talk that made all the tension leave her body. Her heart nearly stopped, she was becoming attached to him, not good, nope. Very, very bad. Being 21 with only 9 or less years to live was a bad thing.
In response she just said, " Nicolas- I..."
She was at a loss for words.

Nic sighed softly before looking down at Salone and realizing he was at a loss of things to do or say. As the clouds blew over the sun and shrouded them in some semblance of shadow, the angel leaned his head down quickly and kissed Salone on the lips, hoping something would happen to help him figure out what to do. Maybe if he were to kiss Salone then she would say what he wanted, that she was starting to like him. Still even the fact that she could say she hated him would give him some course of action. When they were flying over the border of Maine, Nic ended the kiss and spoke quickly before Salone would have time to say anything.

I'm sorry for that...Actually I am more just hoping you don't hate me. Still if you do then I guess that is okay but I want you to know that I am begining to feel like I love you and it scares me but not any more than the thought of not being able to see you when you need me. I... Nic was not sure what exactly to say so he finally allowed his confusion to rule and he stopped.

Salone looked up at him and she looked like she was on the verge of saying something. Then Nic kissed her, the kiss was like the shock of cold water. It was the slow and sweet kind that made her heart flutter in her chest like a frantic bird. Now she could cross off kissing an angel off of her bucket list. Her hand leg go of his shirt and her hand rested lightly on the back of her neck. Nicolas ended the kiss and Salone's brown eyes flicked up to his face. Now it was his turn to be struggling with words. She waited until she finished.
"I'm dying. I've told you that before and I really don't want to hurt you," Salone ran her thumb along his jawline. "But if you stay with me I-" She closed her mouth and her gaze dropped to his collar bone, she stared at it hard while she composed her thoughts. "I will eventually die and you will hurt. But if I send you away I would hurt both of us..." Her voice trailed off as she grappled with herself, her eyes moving back to his face.

Nic felt his heart jump into his throat at the thought of Salone dying but he kept his arms around her and moved slightly so that he could wrap his fingers on one hand through her's. I will stay with you even though it will mean being hurt later in life. I told you Salone, I will go with you because I want to and because I want to be there for you. Nic stared out at the horizon and then angled downward toward a city. He felt the wind pick up slightly and he ducked his head slightly while the strands of his hair whipped against his face and into his eyes. The angel aimed for the roof of a building and watched as they neared the roof. Finally the building was right in front of him and he shot up enough to land carefully on the steel frame.

Salone felt her eyes tear up and she turned her face away, Nic adjusted his grip on her to lace his fingers through hers. She watched as he landed and the frame of a nearly completed office building, the two were several stories up. Salone gently removed herself from his grip and her feet touched down lightly on the steel bar. Balancing herself, she stretched, wincing slightly at tight muscles uncoiling from their sleeping position.
Salone watched Nicolas out of the corner of her eye, her lips still tingled from the kiss, and her cheeks were stained with a pale color of red. The girl closed her eyes as the white and Caramel wings burst forth and she looked down over the edge.

Nic sighed deeply and let his fingers linger against the back of Salone's before he dropped from a steel beam and caught the edge just as he slipped below the top. He hung there for a few seconds and then flipped over and wrapped his legs around the top of the steel beam and hung upside down with his shirt hanging down and exposing the well muscled skin of his torso and chest. So where are we going? Nic watched Salone and felt his reflexive folding of his wings until they were against his back and he hung there looking up at the woman above him. His mind was clear and the blood flowed through to his brain in a rush as he kept his body upside down and gazed out at the city with occasional glances at Salone.

Salone sighed and sat next to his legs on the beam, "Maine." She answered, struggling to keep her eyes straight ahead, rather than tracing Nic's muscle on his stomach and chest. Salone's ultimate distraction was exposed muscle, kissing, and a good book. She hadn't ever been kissed very much in highschool or now in college. Most likely because she hadn't bothered to get to know anybody besides Penny. Suddenly she felt a wave of homesickness and she checked her phone, Salone had missed a call but she didn't recognise the number so she pocketed it.
"I have a doctors appointment." She flashed a smile at him, one that didn't quite reach her eyes.

Swirling below the steel skeletal building was a river that ran cold water even in the summer the color of dark blue with green tinted through out. Just as Nic was about to grab the steel beam and swing back up he smirked and looked up at Salone. Well let's go then. Nic felt time slow slightly as he arched his back slightly and straightened his legs. Immediately gravity took effect and the angel was falling in a spiraling descent from several stories up toward the river with his hair streaming out around his head in a halo. Wind whistled in his ears and Nic waited until he was halfway down before snapping his wings out and angling so that he wouldn't die. The ground rushed up and the angel leveled out just above the ground before swooping back up toward the blue skies.

Salone watched him, a wry grin perched on her lips. The boy was totally showing off. She backed up a few inches before leaping off the side. The air rushed through her long unbound blonde hair and her wings snapped open. The girl angled herself so she flew up into the air, the air cool against her skin. Her clothing rustled and the backpack was firmly nestled between her wings. It would only take a few hours to get to Maine and she had made this flight many times before. Most of them had been complication free.... this one however, not so much.

Sounds were no longer an issue for Nic as he flew through the air and his speed increased until he was rocketing up into the sky like someone on a mission, which was exactly what he was. It had been years since the last time that he had felt this good while soaring in the blue expanse and laughing joyously. Nic looked up and then pulled his sunglasses down until they were blocking some of the wind from his eyes. Three seconds later, Nic was level with Salone and he reached out and grabbed her around her chest before pulling her into a hug. So when is this doctor's appointment? I mean... Nic kissed Salone softly but only briefly before continuing. It would be really nice to be able to just spend some time with you without worrying about rushing around.

Salone was flying towards Maine, minding her business when Nicholas snagged her around the middle and pulled her into a hug. She was unable to silence a squeal a combination of surprise, delight, and overall amusement. He kissed her briefly before continuing what was said.
"It's tomorrow morning, I would have been there today but I got... distracted." She teased him lightly, her wings furling up so he wouldn't have issues flying with her.

Nic smirked and kissed Salone again, this time letting the contact draw out for a longer period of time while they flew on. He spun Salone just enough so that she was in an easier position to hold and kiss at the same time. The entire time the angel breathed in softly and allowed his hands to travel up and down the small of her back with an ease and calm that was unnatural for any situation other than this one. He knew that Salone was on a time limit but Nic was going to take as long as he could so that this kiss could last longer than any other one he'd experienced.

Nicholas kissed Salone again, he seemed to like kissing very much. Fortunately for him, Salone obliged him for the time being. Enjoying the sensation of his lips on hers and his fingers traveling up and down her back.
"You know," She said, after ending the kiss, "I do expect you to talk to me."
Salone arched an eyebrow at him, her brown eyes fixed on his face. Then she shoved herself out of his arms and took to the skies, for a fraction of a second she was silhouetted against the sky.

Nic felt Salone end the kiss and he let a sigh release as their lips parted before watching her disappear after telling him she expected him to talk to her. With a slight smile, Nic blinked and then was shooting through the air after her. He followed and soon caught up to Salone but kept himself from grabbing her and holding her. So what exactly is it that you wanna talk about? Nic looked out across from them and realized he could see all of the land to one side and the ocean in the distance on the other side. The angel felt like he was a part of both worlds but not of one at the same time. He breathed in the cool air and then looked over at the woman with him with a slight curiosity in his gaze.

"Tell me about you," Salone smiled, "What do you like to do?"
She was flying upside down so she could look at him while flying. Her long blonde hair streaming behind her as she did so. "Your favorite hideaways, first kiss, worst fear."
She wanted to get to know Nic better.

Hm... Nic thought for a second about his answers and then smiled. First kiss was you, honestly, but that doesn't mean you are the first person I have been near and liked. In fact my first relationship was back when I was thirteen and on the run from Lucifer while still looking for him. A girl from the nearby school in Maine, actually, was out roaming the streets with her friends when I stumbled across them with my face covered in blood and some rather annoying demons on my trail. Needless to say I was not in the mood to talk but that didn't stop her. She saw me and then looked at my wings and winked at me before I dashed down another street and collapsed from exhaustion. Later I found out that there had been someone watching me and had saved me from the hoard of demons. The girl, who was named Stephanie, had been persistent and when I woke up she tried to kiss me but I had been nervous so she decided it would be best to just leave that alone. Unfortunately later we skipped kissing entirely and some other things happened. I lost track of Stephanie a year later when I was forced to flee. It was about the time she had told me she was pregnant and now I think she might believe I am someone who only knocked her up and then left. The angel took a deep breathe and let it out slowly before continuing. Favorite place to hide would have to be the Garden of Eden just because I can actually gain access to the holy garden and the angels look upon me with protection. My favorite thing to do is to fly around and help those of my kind, fallen angels or children of angels, who need it by killing demons who hunt them. And my worst fear is that I might hurt you so bad that it will make you tell me to go away.
