The Lord and the Lady's Lad

A kid, they paired him up with the damn kid? What in the world was the bitch Elena thinking when she did that? Obviously not too much at all, but still? What exactly went through her mind when she decided to put Cain Vulsore, The Lord of Shadows, the Bloody Bandit, the London Vampire with some scrawny kid who was by the way, her apprentice in the first place. He didn't freak out or loose his temper there at the meeting but what he had done was even better, in his mind at least. He stood up from his throne of shadows, crushed the empty blood glass between his hands and turned around to face the boy. "Isak is it? Meet me at the theater in half an hour... My portion of your training begins there. Don't be late..." He gave the kid a half-smile half-smirk and then melted into the shadows where a shadow monster moved them to his theater. It was time to make preparations.

Once in his 'humble' abode he rose up from the shadows sitting in his throne that over looked the glorious scene of the abandoned theater that loomed before him. The dark room filled with spikes sharp enough to pierce any man lined the floor rising up ten feet. A wooden plank that was 4 inches wide spread out from the entrance of the theater to where Cain himself resided, as the only means of reaching the main stage where the lunatic resided. All around in the shattered and battered rafters resided the creatures of the night. Werewolves wondered around on all fours, vampires moving from one place to another never seeming to stop, and if you looked close enough one could swear the shadows themselves were moving. This is what awaited poor little Isak.

At least, that's what would await him if Cain hadn't decided to up the challenge. He wanted to see what Elena's little bitch was made of and to do that he'd have to make the task of reaching him that much harder. A grin upon his face he cast the floor with shadows, covering all of it put the very tops of the spikes if only to let the boy know what would be his fate were he to miss a step. The four inch wide board was the only thing that wasn't covered in shadows. When the boy would walk in a brute would be moved to the middle of the board and the task would begin.... Get to the other side...well alive.

It didn't take long for the plan to be set up, the course to be made and all the 'creatures' to be in place but once they were Cain noticed he only had three minutes left until he told the boy to arrive. Grabbing a piece of frozen pizza from the fridge, meat lovers of course, he headed down stairs to the main stage where he sat down in his throne and waited for the doors to open. Taking a bite out of the pizza he grinned as he saw the moonlight entering his theater. "Ahh, Isak my boy, Welcome to The Lord of Shadow's theater... Your first test is to make it to my stage. Sounds simple enough yes?" He grinned an evil smirk, blood red eyes glistening in the faint moonlight illuminating the shadow encased building. As soon as Isak took his first step on the board the Brute appeared not ten fee from him. "Oh yes, I failed to mention... The spikes and shadows aren't your only problem."

"Come now Isak, did you certainly think you could harm a full blooded vampire that easily? You have to try harder than that or your puny little spells won't leave a dent." It was his day to train Elena's lad and that was what he was going to do, the best way to train someone was to pit them against something you knew they could not beat and see how they fared. If they somehow survived, great you moved onto the next obstacle, whatever it may be. Of course if Isak ended up dead then Cain himself would be dead because Elena Marie would fry him with her fancy dandy light magic. Anything light would burn his skin in a mater of minutes and her light magic could kill him in a matter of seconds. Which wouldn't solve anything honestly now that he thought about it... If Isak died and then she killed him it wouldn't really bring Isak back from the dead... Oh well.

The brute was hit by the two spells but simply shrugged them off and continued to move forward. The puny attempts to get rid of him were for nothing as he barely felt a tickle. Cracking his neck he slammed his foot down on the wooden plank, not hard enough to brake it of course but strong enough to make it wobble. His goal was to attempt to knock the kid off his balance, mess with his footing and watch as he fell to his unavoidable death. Well unavoidable if Cain wasn't paying attention and didn't catch the boy beforehand. Cain of course was sitting in his chair enjoying his slice of pizza as the scene unfolded before him. If the boy somehow survived and made it to the stage then they would go off to the city and have some fun. If not they would stay all night until he made it to the stage, going over the trial again and again. The trials of death had just began.

As the vampire was hit by the blasts of light he was thrown off his footing and fell down off the plank and down onto the spikes waiting below to catch their first kill of the day. With a thud and a crunch his life was ended, quicker than one could imagine too. For they were no ordinary spikes, no those spikes could kill even the strongest of beings. Cain hearing the noise looked up from his pizza and raised an eyebrow at Isak as his foot landed down upon the stage. [color:160f=purple“My, my, my Isak my boy I certainly didn’t expect you to get here so quickly, but none the less now that you have it makes my job harder.”[/color] He said with a cackle as he finished off his pizza wonder just what he was to do with the boy now. He was certainly in no shape to fight him and he couldn’t take a bruiser on head first. So what then?

Cain paced back and forth for a couple of seconds as Isak took the time to do whatever it was he wanted, that being eating pizza, sitting down, or exploring Cain didn’t care. He had to find out what to do with the boy next! He wasn’t supposed to get across the plank so quickly, not even Tek and Volt had made it across as quick as the kid himself did. Shrugging his shoulders he turned to face the boy clapping his hands together. ”Alright Isak I think I have it, let’s go hit the town. See just what it is you can do in the real world. What do you say, huh? Me and you, a night on the town, rob a bank or two.

Attract some local New Orleans’ hero to test your stuff. See if you can take him down without my help?” He asked then thought about it and grinned, ”Ahh who am I kidding, you don’t get a say in this. Ever shadow traveled before small fry? No, good you are going to love it.” Cain said as he grabbed Isak’s shoulder and a shadow monster grabbed Cain’s leg pulling them both out of the Amusement Park and into the bustling bank of America dead center in New Orleans. [/color=purple]”Well, show me your stuff…Hero should be here in about five minutes after you start a commotion. ”

The boy was a blundering idiot, Cain couldn’t believe what he was watching and he felt like ripping his eyes out of his sockets. This, this was the boy the great Crimson Witch had chosen as her successor, this was the boy she had chosen as her apprentice? He couldn’t even pull off a robbery the correct way without getting the teller to laugh in his face, and not only that he looked back at Cain as if he thought that it would somehow help him to accomplish the goal he requested. Oh, sure Cain could get a hero to arrive quicker than one could say ‘supercalifragilisticexpialidocious’ but that didn’t mean he was going to help. Oh no, this was Isak’s show and he had to figure everything out on his own. Cain was simply the guardian…devil.

“Come on now boy, I know you can do much better than that…this certainly won’t get you the hero you wanted. Now stop looking at me and expecting me to do everything, I got you here now it’s your turn to bring the hero to you.” Taking out his kilij of shadows he tossed it to Isak with a devilish grin on his face, “now, slash the damn teller across the neck or something, and get this place wild and crazy…” Cain crossed his arms over his chest and leaned up against the wall that he had been standing near as he listened to the whispers coming from around the bank. The people were slowly starting to realize just who was standing in the same room as them.

The realization that they were standing in the same moonlit room as the Lord of Shadows, the New York Vampire, he was there and looked to be taking up an apprentice of sorts. The fear started to show through their bodies and some made to reach for their cellular devices which Cain quickly stopped with a flick of his wrist. Any and all who sought to reach for their phones or any other sort of device which could signal for help lost their hands, yes that is right the shadows rose up shot out and cut off the hands of any person who attempted to signal for help in that way. “Tsk, Tsk, Tsk, let’s not ruin his fun so quickly by calling the police…. Now Isak, the floor is all yours.” He said with a sinister laugh.

Cain grinned watching as Isak displayed the fireball and had everyone in the bank ‘calm’ down, the boy had spunk he’d give him that. But it was obvious he still had no clue what he was doing and this was certainly not something Cain was going to let slide, he’d need to fix that up real quick, yes he would. Elena wouldn’t be too happy if he came back with an Isak who hadn’t changed at all from the ‘little’ experience that Cain threw him through. Walking over to the teller he snatched the money out of his hands and sarcastically thanked him as he tossed it into the shadows, where it was snatched up by a shadow monster and shadow traveled back to Shade HQ. Cain then of course turned his attention back to Isak and smirked at the scene of the man getting his back roasted by a thrown fireball, “Very good Isak… but it seems we have some company at last, why don’t you deal with him?” He more so demanded than asked, as he leaned up against the counter ready to watch the scene unfold before him.

A man wearing sunglasses, a black fedora like hat, a white t-shirt, and a sports jacket along with matching pants that both had the designs of blue lightning etched into them. He was obviously not happy about the bank robbery and walking in he quickly took notice of the situation, it seemed there were two people orchestrating the attack as well as robbery, the one from what he saw with the man and the crispy back manipulated some sort of fire while the other was still unknown. It was obvious to him that they wanted some sort of fight, which is why they had made the commotion in the first place allowing him to sniff them out and find his way to the bank so easily. The fools didn’t know who they were messing with.

He wasn’t your average hero, not sense the rise in super villain activities in his home town of New Orleans, and he didn’t give a fuck who died in the processes of getting the idiots out of his city. He walked forward electric blue eyes hidden behind hid glasses dead set on the man in front of him who had the fire like powers and threw his hand forward. From it came a surge of electricity shooting out at him faster than the human eye could make out, he wanted this over and done quickly. They quicker they fried the quicker he could go out and take on someone else, the quicker he could rid the city of this filth. If civilians got in the way during this extermination of sorts, then that was their problem and not his. They should know better by now than to get in the way of a meta-human fight.

As the first villain was down and out The Vigilante quickly turned his sights upon the Lord of Shadows, his right hand electrified and ready to go he took a step forward ready to sprint at one of the most feared villains alive only to see the boy standing up. Stopping he shook his head, so the boy decided to get back up did he? Well then, that would certainly have to change…The fire balls came roaring at him and he just barely had time to dodge one of them, send a surge of electricity at another, and sprint forwards past one before he was hit in the shoulder and sent down to the ground spiraling from the impact. He cursed under his breath from the burn more than anything as the fireball it’s self didn’t hurt as much as getting sent off his feet and falling on his shoulder did. He probably had a dislocated shoulder now though, which was just great.

Standing up he spit on the ground winking at the boy who threw fireballs as he electrified both of his hands and shot them forward. From the electrified hands shot forth, well electricity, surges of it to be exact. The streams were quite like those made by The Emperor in the Star Wars movies, except bigger and possibly more powerful, but it didn’t truly matter it was electricity flying at you, it was probably going to hurt. This of course is exactly what The Vigilante was hoping for. The boy needed to pay for what he had done here and the ‘great’ Lord of Shadows was next…which of course The Vigilante was constantly watching his shoulder for incase the man got the idea to attack him as well.

Cain of course was sitting on the counter watching the foolish vigilante, if he could even be called that as he had no regards for human life whatsoever it seemed, fight Isak. It was obviously quite boring of a fight, a dead hostage here, a couple fire balls there, and oh look more flashy lightning. Honestly, didn’t either of them know how to fight with a little more flare? Oh this was atrocious, and he would certainly have to teach Isak how to fight with a bit more pzah when they got back to Shade HQ, of course Isak would need to survive this fight if he was going to make it back. Hmm, well Cain would have to step in sooner or later, probably sooner rather than later at the looks of things, but he wanted the boy to kill to be quite honest. No, he needed the boy to take that next step and end this foolish Vigilante’s life. Would make his job just that tiny bit more entertaining and easy. "Come on now Boy, Kill him already!"

Although both Isak and Cain thought they were done with the troublesome vigilante they would soon come to find that they were indeed not finished with the lightning man. Underneath the rubble and derbies that formed because of the explosion a grunt could be heard. His grunt was soon followed by a shove and a slab of concrete that came loose to reveal the man kneeling down with cuts and bruises shown about the man’s body. He had to use the closest piece of derby to pull himself up but stand he did. “You aren’t getting rid of me that easily kid…” He muttered spitting blood out of his mouth and onto the ground, hands crackling with electricity, power surging through him just one last time. Sure, he knew he was soon to be finished but at least he could try and put down one more nuisance in this town.

Rushing forward with all of his speed the vigilante made a dash at Isak, one hand spewing out lightning while the other hand found its electrically charged fist ‘flying’ towards Isak in an upper cutting motion. The Vigilante was not going down without a fight and if he wanted Isak to stop he was going to have to kill him. That’s the way he saw it in his mind, it was one or the other, he set out tonight to cleanse New Orleans of a couple super villains and he’d do it even if it was the last thing he did. Or so he hopped, if he wasn’t able to accomplish his goal than at least he would go down fighting for what he believed in. “Get ready for the shock of your life you little asshat.” He muttered as his fist came within inches of the boy prodigy’s face.

Cain still standing off to the side watched the raging fight with mild to little interest, the only thing that truly sparked his interest was when the lightning Vigilante was able to get up from the explosion. He had been sure it killed him or at least knocked him out. The former of the two was a more preferable tactic in his mind as it would keep the fool off the streets, but the later would also allow them to take the money they collected and leave. Sadly, the easy way out was not to be their way out today and Isak would indeed have to kill the foolish Vigilante. This was exactly what Cain had wanted to happen in the first place and so when The Vigilante rushed at Isak with his fists electrically charged a sly grin formed upon the face of the Lord of Shadows. Finally, it was time for Isak to end this foolish mortal’s life.

“Well, don’t just stand their boy; Kill him already!” Cain shouted out at Elena’s little prodigy. One little fight, one push too far in the right direction that is all it took to make even the sanest man kill. Isak would be no problem and just as easily pushed, if not easier, in the ‘right’ direction. With this little push Cain himself wouldn’t even have to lift a finger, the boy would kill before the night was over that much Cain was sure of. So, in his mind it would be much simpler if Isak stopped trying to fight the urge to not do so and simply stepped over the line on his own already. Daji was not going to have the satisfaction of getting the boy to kill before Cain himself did. No, that was certainly not something Cain was going to let happen.

The scene that showed out in front of Cain was breath taking, he simply adored the scene that he witnessed firsthand. The evil laugh, the cackle and sociopathic smile, Isak had it all, who knew the little apprentice could go so far with one little push? Cain wasn’t too sure of just where it came from but he knew he liked it and that Isak was never going to get to live this down. Oh no, Cain expected more of this wanted more of it, needed more of it. Elena’s little bitch was going to become one hell of a psychopathic killer and Cain was going to be the one to send him in that direction. Hell the boy was already heading down the right…or would it be wrong, direction.

Clapping his hands together Cain slowly walked towards Isak with a grin on his face. “Who did it? Why you did my dear boy! You roasted this mother fucker alive, and boy was it quite the show.” Cain said slapping Isak on the back before having the shadows in the room rise up and kill every last witness that was in the room except one frightened little lady. She would be the only one to survive this escapade; she’d tell the world what she saw. She would be the one that started the story of the boy who controls hell fire, the ‘child’ prodigy tutored by none other than the Lord of Shadows. Tales would soon start to spread of his accomplishment here and more than likely they would be blown way out of proportion because of the fright displayed on the little ‘old’ lady’s face. Just as Cain wanted it to.

“Come along now Isak, we have much more fun to do, things to see places to be, people to kill. Your night on the town is just getting started. Wouldn’t want all this excitement to be the climax of the night would you?” The Lord of Shadows spoke these words with a grin as he turned towards the nearest wall punching a hole in it and walking out the back, stopping momentarily to make sure that Isak wasn’t too far behind. The New York, London, and New Orleans Vampire had a certain pep in his step as he left the bank with Elena’s apprentice following behind the Bank was merely their first stop of many that night, the two of them had the entire city to plunder and take down tonight. Cain certainly couldn’t let that go to waist…
