Hello everybody, a friend referred me to this site and it looked cool so I decided to join. I checked out the rules and everything, but I'll also make sure to message mods and other members if I'm not clear on something.

Hello. Welcome to SHRPG.
There are tons of threads to get you started; a PM should be sent to you from me that has a thread with hyperlinks to all the appropriate places. Feel free to use the PM to your advantage.
if you have questions, pop on the Cbox and ask away. If no one with an @ is on (they're staff members) there are a few advisers that would be more than willing to help.
