Personality: Devereux is an extremely calm and composed individual, remaining an enigma to enemies and allies alike. As a result, not much is known of his true personality by anyone, however it is implied by people who have worked by him that he has an intense dislike to lose and fiercely dedicated, borderline obessive in accomplishing his goals. It is unknown why Devereux fights, however it is heavily implied to deal with betrayl, destruction, and revenge through his own words. It may be that his family was harmed even after he agreed to leave them and he wants revenge.

Devereux is clever and calculating, refusing to come into view unless he has the complete advantage and vanishes when that advantage becomes compromised. He prefers to bait other into traps than rather directly confront them, or use allies to fight. He is something of a manipulator. He is not above trying to convince prospective individuals to his side through charisma and intelligence, exploiting their weaknessess and fears, and is not above blackmailing them into submission.

However, Devereux shows compassion to only one person. His brother, whom has no idea he exists. Devereux plans to one day confront him, and share with him the glory of a world they can both enjoy. However, it is unclear whether Devereux is truely a villian or anti-hero, as he will admit to just about anyone he feels no remorse for any of his crimes.

History: Devereux, first-born to the couple Ceara Nonie Carter and Francis Lloyd Carter, was given away on his 7th birthday as part of a deal. In exchange for the protection of his family, Devereux would serve under a crime boss. Because he knew his mother was currently pregnant, he agreed. Did Devereux even promise to return? Did he say good-bye? Nothing. He simply gave them a look that said it all. He was finished with them. Never to return or look upon them again, to which they understood why.

However, during his circuit as a lowlife criminal with little experience, Devereux kept tabs on his family and even conspired against his boss. Devereux took no emotion with him on any job, treating them all the same. Anyone who screwed up, well he simply left them to rot in a cell. He quickly grew to be a favourite and certainly found the opportunity to make a name for himself.

During a party in his honor, Devereux was to shake hands with the boss. Instead, he drove a knife into his heart and declared himself the new boss. With a way to extort the city's funding and keep tabs on his family, Devereux was rather content, but slowly developed a newfound hatred. He later discovered that the government had a keen interest in his family, his father being a government agent and his mother a scientist with little peers. Rather distraught, he vanished without a trace.

Akin to his brother, Devereux looked into enhancing his natural ability to an extent most people would not reach. It wasn't ever out of his reach. He had never planned on going through with using an enhancement that his group had stolen. When he learned about it, he took it. He had been against using it at all, but his options were running dry and without any other choice, he injected himself. Mutating his genes, he became something of a super soldier, although he knew there was a limit to what this would give him.

Devereux later resurfaced, without a soul in the world to know his story or who he was. With few thoughts on his mind, Devereux set off to begin what he felt was needed. Whether he was truely a hero inside or a man turned dark, may the world pray for the former, lest Devereux becomes the thing that keeps you up at night, the evil that haunts every corner of your mind... Who never rests. And neither will the world.

Power 1: Regenerative Capabilities - Devereux has a minor form of self-regeneration. He heals slightly faster than the most healthiest humans and recovers at an increased rate.
