Personality: Laura is a cool, slightly lazy but otherwise competent FBI agent. She is a self-described meat-and-potatoes sort of lady, rather blunt but having a knack for investigation. She is also known to be fairly lenient with the law, preferring people resolve problems before it ever reaches the courts. Laura is sympathetic to Metas and minorities in general, as she has a younger, autistic Meta brother with unparalleled artistic ability and psychic control over color. She also serves as Ellie's conscience, as Laura is a devout Catholic.

History: Laura is the eldest daughter of a retired police pensioner and an immigrant mother. She trained Ellie in basic forensics and combat- but soon found the woman to be of exceptional ability. Laura was once blackmailed by a minor gang about her Meta sibling, to which Ellie promptly responded with cyber warfare and later what the gang leader describes to this day as “A thing of monstrous beauty”. Ever since, Laura is one of a handful of agents within the FBI that Ellie counts on. Laura is single and struggles to find a man willing to marry a lady FBI agent. She still lives with her parents, being their caretaker. Ellie has solved many more cases than Laura in her short career, but Laura was once featured on the news for talking a suicide out of jumping and commended for her character.

She has recently been transferred, by Ellie's machinations, to oversee a discreet Meta social services program as the manager, and if necessary, protector of the Condominum unit they are staying at. she calls it a 'dream job'.
