A Royal Flush (Closed to Black Lotus, Anu and Gossamer)

A heavy hand slapped the wooden framing sending multicoloured chips sprawling across the circular table, a loud Texan guffaw followed, ringing in the ears of anyone unlucky enough to be seated near such a loud distraction. The pig-faced American seated at one of the many poker tables within the bustling mega-casino had obviously tossed aside any subtle 'poker-face' and instead replaced it with an unsettling level of over-confidence, "That's right! No one messes with Big Willy" the boisterous man bellowed proceeding to take another swing at his seventh glass of vodka.The occupants at the table were clearly unimpressed with the man's sheer lack of restraint, their exasperated expressions indicating that 'Big Willy's' display of grandeur was not helping his cause at all.

One participant in particular was not impressed with 'Big Willy' at all, a scowl cascading across her perfect complexion as the petite woman glared at the hollering businessman next to her. Daji had practically lost all affection towards the opposite sex and the cigar munching, Martini drinkng man next to her was a perfect example of why she felt such things; having been completely disenfranchised with men after her lover from over a millennia ago betrayed her and buried her underneath a temple Daji has held a seething dislike for the 'dominant' sex. Luminescent black hair was held tightly back in a braid, dark scorching eyes partially hidden by her sweeping fringe and scarlet lips were upturned in an elegant snarl as she waited for the dealer to calm the man down and continue the game.

The bet on the table was currently at $10,000, courtesy of 'Big Willy', many of the seated players had folded and withdrawn, fearful that the cackling oil merchant actually had a good hand. However the agitated woman was never going to fold to a creature such as him..particularly when she was in the possession of an amazing hand; the only other player that called Willy's bet was an alluring looking female opposite her. Daji raised a well kept eyebrow at the woman, who happened to have a gigantic snake wrapped around her shoulders; Daji pursed her lips, of all the animals she has yet to make acquaintances with were anacondas and right in front of her was the massive serpent. However the Asian woman simply ignored the woman as one of the casino performers and that her snakes were a mere attempt of intimating the other seated players. Daji glanced at Big willy waiting for the heaving mass of tobacco and alcohol to reveal his hand, "A STRAIGHT FLUSH! THAT'S RIGHT SUGARTITS!" he bellowed revealing a '9' and '10' of diamonds, pointing his chunky fingers at the woman seated opposite Daji.

Exhaling a sharp breath Daji winked at the other lady and slowly revealed an 'Ace' and 'King' of diamonds, "Royal flush...I win" she said flatly tossing her cards at the dealer who tentatively handed her ten grand trying to ignore 'Big Willy's' accusations of her cheating, "Now, how about we play for $20,000?" she grinned at the lady opposite her revealing pearly white teeth...

Julia, Also known as Black Lotus had been sitting at her favorite poker table playing an amusing game of poker. She had recently became a player in the criminal underworld here and it had become known that this place was where she spent her time. Her large Anaconda was draped over her shoulder, it's tongue flying in and out of it's mouth. She over course had her other snakes on her but they were mostly out of sight. Only herself, another women and the man known as Big Willy was left in the round. Willy had proudly thrown down a straight flush, thinking that no one else can top it. A smirk curled on her red lips and she was about to play her hand until the other women threw down a royal flush. Which had sent Willy into a frenzy calling her a cheater, ironic cause the oil tycoon had been cheating all night.

"Hmm... a most odd predicament." said Julia, gingerly placing down her hand. "Two Royal flushes that can't be right?" She leaned back in her chair and pet the head of her Anaconda. Big Willy was sent into a bigger rage then before, flipping the table over and yelling at her and the other women calling them bitches alongside some other unfavorable names. She was getting tired of him quickly. With a though the Inland Taipan around her left leg slithered on to the floor, unnoticed in all the commotion. It striked at Big Willy, sinking it's fangs into his leg. He fell to the floor in pain and the snake slithered back to her leg, wrapping itself around it and staying still like a decoration. She walked over to Big Willy who was crying on the ground in pain, the venom would kill him quickly so she wanted to get her message across. She used her foot to roll him on the ground. She knelt down next to him. "I got tired of you and your games. Goodbye sugartits." She got up and walked back to her seat at the table, which had been placed back up. "If your still up for 20,000 i'll match and raise you double."

Sheryll leaned against the wall outside the casino, her sunglasses reflecting the sun's intense light as she watched Anu enter the casino. She had been given information by her handlers to make an attempt at recruiting the delusional super. Several videos had been taken of Anu using her powers, not the least of which was when she broke into a Los Angeles hospital to bust out some flunk of hers. Her ability to control and generate plant life was incredibly deadly and that was why Sheryll had brought back-up. It had been a while since she'd been forced to bring along help, but this team was exceptionally skilled.

They were Dominus' first attempt at anti-super soldiers and were outfitted with a special armor and high power rifles. Sheryll glanced up at the rooftop opposite the casino and saw a small blinking flash. It was one of the sniper teams flashing the ready. She was supposed to respond with a blinking red light but instead she simply smiled and flashed a thumbs up. Sighing, she walked over to the crosswalk and stared up into the sky.

Her joints still ached from her surgery. It had been a minor procedure but it hurt like hell. They had applied special sealant modules to her body to prevent any such attacks like the one Cilian had performed on her in their battle. Her father had given her a stern "talking to" earlier that day and her back still bore the marks of his "disappointment".

I deserved it she thought, her smile vanishing.

I let my guard down and I lost. I deserved that punishment.

She was feeling sulky today but she couldn't show it, lest she damage the troops' morale. Sheryll crossed the street and stopped outside the casino. Sheryll looked around and put her finger up to her ear, pressing the small button located just inside to turn her comlink on.
"This is Agent Gossamer, I'm entering the target area, are you guys all ready?" she queried, attempting to put some cheer into her voice.

Several replies sounded, all of them some variant of the standard "Yes Sir".

Sheryll smiled slightly before nodding. She was sure they hadn't seen it but it was more to herself than anyone else. Walking in the feeling of the air conditioning was chilling to her. It was turned up way too high and she rubbed her arms. She was wearing her N.A.S. suit under a black sweater and tan jeans and she STILL cold.

A noise sounded from nearby. Looking over, Sheryll saw that it was a fat man in a cowboy hat screaming and twitching on the ground. She watched as a woman in black walked over to him, a small shape coiling itself around her leg. There was another woman there who appeared to be enjoying the show before the first woman sat down once more. Sheryll made a mental note to watch out for them and resumed her initial task of tracking down Anu. It took only moments for her to locate the stunning red headed woman. That red hair was not only an obvious grapple point but also terrible for blending in to most crowds. Sheryll started forward but stopped suddenly, noticing a small child grasping on to Anu's leg like some sort of lost puppy. Putting her hand to her ear once more, Sheryll spoke softly.

"This is Gossamer, we have an unidentified child in close proximity to and showing affection for the target. Please advise." she said, staring intently at the pair.

"This is Dominus Actual, your target remains the same. Deal with the child as you see fit."

"Roger, Gossamer out." she sighed. The last thing Sheryll wanted was to have to kill a kid. Normally she would have made a snarky remark, but in light of her recent failure she thought better of it.

Sheryll walked over and put her hand on the woman's shoulder.

"Hello there Ms. Montreal. I'd like to have a word with you. Would you kindly step outside. I advise leaving the child behind." she said, her voice cold and hard. Sheryll had left her smiling bubbly self at the door and was all business now.

A devilish grin spread across Daji's lips as she witnessed Big Willy crumble to the floor, a shrill cry escaping his flabby throat as he clasped onto his leg, a distinct shape quickly slithering back underneath the table. The woman sitting opposite her had somehow dispatched the oil tycoon with ease and mercilessly left him there to die on the floor. Not that anyone saw 'snake lady' deliver the killing strike, to the casual bystander it would've looked like she was trying to help him...however Daji, from years of honing her mind and observation skill could easily see that this strange woman was in fact a monster, much like her.

A giddy shiver ran down her spine as the man thrashed on the ground before dying, a heap of white froth building up on his mouth. Looks like I'm not the only predator in this desperate place she thought to herself, smirking at the woman who was now seated and counting her chips. Upon realizing that a man had died in the middle of a poker game the surrounding players and observers scrambled, some screaming at the top of their lungs as they tried their best to escape whatever it was that killed the calorie filled businessman. Daji giggled, this level of panic was something she hadn't witnessed in a while, the helpless screams, the looks of shock and fear and the scrambling attempts of escaping something no mortal can: death.

The dealer, having witnessed everything scrambled for what appeared to be a phone in his pocket, his fumbling fingers trying their best to call for help, "Agent Gossamer! Agent Gossamer! There's been a -" a pained yelp was all he could muster as a burning dart pierced his pale throat, lodging its way into his Adam's apple blocking any attempt to breathe or talk to this 'Agent Gossamer'. The man let out a pained gasp, he dropped his phone trying to steady himself as his eyes widened at the flaming fan Daji was holding, its heat blooming out like a bonfire, "Such a pitiful creature..you should have dealt our cards and ignored Big willy over here..." she sighed, folding her fan, quenching the vibrant flames.

A lady screeched above the ensuing chaos as she ran into the dealer, who was now gagging on his own blood, the needle scorching his throat as he slowly receded from life's grasp. Ignoring the man's vain attempts of alerting whoever he was trying to alert Daji snorted unimpressed with the young man's lack of entertainment. With a flick of her eyelashes Daji proceeded to smile sweetly, tapping her fan against her chin as she stared at the snake clad entertainer, "Such a foolish boy...a shame really, I wanted to win that $20,000" Daji sighed waving her fan in the air in a theatrical manner, "although, I'm sure a woman such as yourself could always kill more oil tycoons if she really wanted to.." Daji smirked seeing through the woman's earlier stunt with the snake.

A smirk appeared on Julia's face as the dealer fell to the ground. She was amused by the fact that the other girl would kill and quickly as she killed. "He should of, once he fell to the ground there was nothing that anyone could do to save that cheating bastard." said Julia. However a troubling thought was in her head, the Agent Gossamer that the dealer mentioned could be trouble if the message got through. Her eyes darted around suspiciously. Her attention was caught by two women, one was a red head with a child glued to her leg. However the other one was the one she was suspicious of. She had back up who where carrying some pretty impressive weapons however they were mostly unnoticed because of the chaos herself and the other women caused. With a thought, her 3 venomous snakes slithered from under her clothing unnoticed and quickly slithered to the back up the one women had brought with her. "Now if you'll excuse me." said Julia standing up. The anaconda's tongue flickering in and out. She began to walk away, to a place were she could strike from safety, behind the armed soldiers. While she walked away her snakes began to strike, biting a solider then moving on to the next.

By the time she had herself hidden behind the guards some had been bitten and the ones that weren't bit were trying to shoot the snakes on the floor, now watching the floors so they wouldn't get bitten. Julia watched the chaos from the shadows, waiting for the chance to strike. She disliked her pets being shot at but if it came to it she would step out of the shadows. A guard had been backed up to her position because of one of her snakes. Her Anaconda reached out and wrapped itself around the persons neck and arms, strangling the life out of the guard. Once the guard fell limp the anaconda released him and the Inland Taipan which backed him up to where she was slithered back onto her leg and wrapped itself around it remaining stationary. She picked up the gun and hid back in the shadows, watching her other two snakes carefully. There still were a lot of armed soldiers. It made her wonder what they were all doing here, what was so dangerous that this many were needed.

Sheryll had to work to repress a smile, here was yet another super who despised their real name being used. If the next one she was sent out to 'recruit' was the same way she might think it a side effect of gaining super powers. She enjoyed her codename, but it was not something she would ever walk around calling herself. To pretty much everyone, she was just Sheryll.
She was only Gossamer when she was on the job and even then she only called herself that over the comm because of official procedures and the like.

Sheryll looked around and noted that two security guards had wandered over and looked tense, likely they were under Anu's control. It had been recorded several times that people would often obey the woman without any logical reason why, the scientists at Dominus weren't sure what it was but they had several theories.

Sheryll ignored them, to her, they were the equivalent of the mugger Cilian had killed; that is to say... worthless.

As she looked back at Anu she felt her comlink crackle and a voice shouted through. It was their undercover man and he was crying out for help, but she didn't need the comlink for that, she could hear him screaming from where he was. Or... she could, up until he gurgled out something and the sound of his phone hitting the floor ended the transmission. Sighing, Sheryll took her hand off of Anu's shoulder and turned around.

"I apologize for the mistake Ms. Montreal, I'll be leaving now." she said, working as hard as she could to keep a large grin from covering her face.

Sheryll walked out of the building and into the road. Cars skidded to a stop and people yelled, but she didn't care, in a few seconds they'd be screaming about something much less mundane than a young woman walking straight into the road.

In a matter of moments Sheryll had deployed ten wires from her hands and was running back at the casino. Once she was within fifteen feet she leaped into the air and began to spin.

So easy... she thought as the wires slid through the steel and glass of the building like a sewing needle through cloth.

Sheryll kept spinning and slashing until she hit the ground away from the building. The casino began to rumble and shake as the first of the supports gave way. The muffled sounds of screaming could be heard from inside as people who hadn't been hacked to bits by her wires were being maimed and crushed by the debris. It lasted barely a minute, the once proud casino -now a crumbled heap- was no more. Sheryll turned back to look at the rubble and retracted her wires.

"Sniper team Alpha, this is A0173, please alert teams Bravo through Echo that they should be on the lookout for escapees from the rubble, specifically check for a young woman with red hair. Lethal force is authorized and encouraged. A0173 out." she said, her hand to her ear.

Sheryll glared at the rubble for a moment before redeploying a single wire from her hand. "Have to be sure" she said coldly as she began to hack into the rubble, splashes of blood and body parts would fly from the rubble every so often. Sheryll was sure that the woman, Anu wasn't dead, but if she was faking it, then this would be a good way to make her come out.

A majority of the casino's occupants had fled in nervous terror, many occupants not even knowing why they were escaping but then again its always better to be safe then sorry. Leftover chips and coins littered the magenta flooring and the two lifeless bodies of Big Willy and the dealer were sprawled out across the poker area. The other woman had quickly darted off somewhere leaving Daji all by her lonesome, sipping on a her Martini whilst rocking back and forth like a giddy child, "What a great day", she sighed speaking to herself out loud as she munched on an alcohol drenched olives.

A muffled sob not so far from where she was seated attracted the woman's attention, looks like there's still some fun to be had she grinned to herself, her immaculate pearly whites slightly pointed making her smile much less appealing than it should've been. Hopping off her stool and grabbing her various toys, which she had so sneakily hidden underneath the poker table, Daji strolled over to the bar ignoring a confrontation between two women across the room. Listening in for the muffled sobs, the sword wielding woman poked her head around bar revealing one of the young bartenders curled up and sobbing.

The young woman, blonde hair and blue eyed looked up at Daji, her face stained with tears and smudged makeup as she blubbered underneath the bar, "Now what do we have have here...? A little servant girl sobbing for her mother" Daji purred pouncing over the half finished mojito's and beers and proceeding to kneel next to the blonde girl whose name tag read "Lynda". A panicked look appeared on the girl's already distraught face as Daji leaned in closer with a devilish pout, "Go..Go Away f-from me..You..y-you Monster!" the girl managed to scream out trying her best to push Daji back who for the most part was finding this highly amusing.

"Now tell me..." Daji spoke, clasping the Lynda's hands in an iron death-grip and proceeding to lean in closer, close enough to feel the girls trembling breath against her neck, "..why am I a monster?" she whispered ignoring the girl's increasing breaths and measly attempts of escaping. An anguished cry escaped Lynda's mouth, tears flooded down her face as she felt Daji's cold lips lightly brush against her neck, "If you don't answer me I'm going to slowly rip out your throat with my teeth," Daji uttered, completely serious as she dragged her pointed teeth against the bartenders warm trembling neck, "Why. Am. I. A. Monster?" she spoke once more looking the terrified girl right in the eyes.

The girl tensed up as she felt the canine-like teeth slowly pierce the soft vulnerable flesh of her neck, it took only a mere few seconds for her trembling lips to form a coherent answer, 'Y-You...killed th-that man wit-th the fan-n" she sobbed, squealing as Daji cackled with her mouth still clamped to the girl's neck. Content enough with the girls answer Daji slowly lifted her head up to once more face Lynda, "Oh so you saw me do that, well I guess that means I have to kill you as well she said in a matter-of-fact voice shrugging her shoulders, " but don't worry..when it comes to little blossoms such as yourself I can always give you a more...pleasurable passing" she said in a low voice giving Lynda a quick peck on the lips.

Whatever Daji was planning on doing to Lynda behind that bar was immediately halted when a loud crashing noise came from the roof above, glasses shattered and bottle tumbled everywhere as the building itself shuddered from some unforeseen circumstance. A falling bottle of whiskey crashed onto Lynda's head cracking her skull, the girl did not even have time to react. This was soon followed by the whole rack of assorted beverages and Daji, swearing under her breath for losing a potential plaything, scuttled out from under the bar having enough time to witness the casino to come crashing down on top of her.

If it weren't for her superhuman reflexes, durability and her ungodly level of dexterity the falling pieces of roof would have surely killed the petite woman however the rubble did not do nothing more than annoy her. Leaping out of a nearby stained glass window Daji landed on the street outside, just in time to see the whole roof cave in and crush whatever amount of money she could have won that day...

"Damn...I was gonna have some fun with that pitiful servant girl" She snarled, flicking her fringe out of her face as she viewed the chaos before her...

Julia hide in the shadows waiting for suspicious women to do something. She was generally surprised when she left. She placed the gun down on the floor and her snakes returned to her. She saw no more reason to hold the gun and she normally didn't use them. She stay in the shadows, might as well considering that the place was almost barren now. She saw the women she was playing poker with jump over the bar after a waitress but quickly disappeared from sight. She relaxed a bit and turned her attention backed to the red-headed women, wondering what her deal was. It wasn't a place you would bring a kid. But before she could wonder any more another people reared it's ugly head. The casino was collapsing. "Shit" she thought to herself and she darted out of the building. She watched what was left of the building collapse to a pile of nothing. She looked around and saw the same women as before but had wires sticking out of, some of them with blood on them. "Hey whatca think your doing to my casino!" yelled Julia, stroking the anaconda's head as if to comfort it.

Sheryll stood there watching as Anu burst forth from the wreckage of the once beautiful casino, her anger apparent as vines lashed out and began strangle some surrounding men... men who were wearing a Dominus uniform. That's strange. she thought to herself I don't recall bringing any forces with me aside from the sniper teams... but before she could continue with her dissemination a message appeared across her vision. It only lasted for a few moments but that was all the time she needed. The bright red text was forever etched into her memory.

"Sorry for not telling you, but given your previous... lack of competence in handling a superhuman foe I thought you could use some backup."

The message was obviously from her father, and she felt ashamed.

He had sent in several extra men without telling her. In case she... In case she failed... That never would have happened prior to her battle with Cilian. Would that one loss haunt her forever? Prior to that she had had a perfect track record.
Any super she had tracked down had been captured and/or killed without fail, and yet with one loss, she had fallen so far. She wasn't sure if he really believed she would fail or if the men sent were simply meant as a reminder.

Either way, it didn't matter, because all the men he had sent were dropping dead, their airways crushed by Anu's powerful vines. Sheryll watched as Anu sent the little boy away before noticing another presence. She looked back only briefly to see the snake woman. She looked mostly unharmed, but if she interfered then that would change very fast. Sheryll put her finger up to her ear and spoke in a low voice

"Sniper team Charlie, there's a possible hostile about five meters away on my seven, I want you to focus on her, A0173 out." she said, her only response a small flash, almost impossible to see by an average human, signifying Charlie team had gotten her message.

Sheryll briefly tried to come up with a plan of attack should they fail but was interrupted by Anu screaming something, turning her head, Sheryll saw Anu send a flurry of vines her way. She let out a short breath before swiping her hand out in front of her. The sun glinting off the near invisible wires the only indication of their existence. As she cut through the vines, Sheryll made a mental note that they were far harder to slice through than she had anticipated and as such she would need to apply more force to her swings.
As the plants fell to bits, Sheryll ran forward and leaped high into the air just in front of Anu. She spun there for a few moments before extending her leg and deploying several wires from her calf and foot. Allowing herself a small smile as she spun downwards, Sheryll spun faster and faster until the bladed kick turned into a powerful vortex of glinting death that was growing ever closer to her prey

Brushing bits of dirt and broken glass off her clothing Daji scowled at the sudden intrusion of her attempted foreplay with the pretty waitress, who was now buried underneath the casino. A simmering anger welled up within the pit of Daji's core, not because the girl died a horrible death but rather because a moment of fun and pleasure on Daji's part was rudely interrupted by what appeared to be some super's having a little scuffle. It was not soon after that she noticed that these two supers happened to be the ladies from earlier, the red haired woman had some mightily interesting plants under her control but she was far outnumbered by the other woman who was flanked by a squadron of armed men. Daji watched as these soldiers swarmed the surrounding areas, their weapons at the ready as they cleared away any possible bystander that could witness much more than necessary.

"What is this...?" she uttered, snarling as chunks of mutant vines were carelessly tossed her way as the gigantic plants were hacked to pieces. An armed soldier jogged towards her, his stocky arm outstretched indicating for her stop. His bulky frame completely blocked much of the battle happening behind him. Daji bared her teeth at the rude obstacle, the naive soldier obviously had no idea who he was dealing with, and she impatiently tapped her foot waiting for the brutish oaf to explain himself.

"Ma'am, no one is allowed past this point. Please return to your hou-", the man had no time to properly finish his sentence as a flaming fan cascaded against his chest, tearing at the kevlar and burning away any material that stood against the 1000 year old weapon. He involuntarily stumbled backwards feeling his new injury and looking at the petite woman with a mix of shock and horror, a horrid burning gash bubbling from the heat that punctured his skin. The man fumbled for his weapon, beads of sweat rolling down his face as the excruciating pain began to tear past his ribcage. Just as he was about to pull the trigger a flurry of the red-hot needles sped through his face, burning into his skin and piercing the back of skull, the intense heat melting whatever it was lodged into.

"So disgusting..." Daji exclaimed with a sneer watching the man let out one last gasp of pain before falling on his face, lodging the needles deeper into his skin.

An intense lust for blood filled the woman and she let out a giggle of delight as she felt a violent giddiness run through her. Gracefully hopping over the corpse of the man, Daji proceeded to swing a flurry of burning needles at the armed men who attempted to halt her. She was ruthless and precise in her attacks, her erratic movements and lithe figure combined with the scorching hot weapon in her hand seemed to be too much of a challenge for the armed men that so reluctantly tried to stop her.

"I'M A QUEEN! YOU FOOLISH PEASANTS WILL PAY FOR RUINING MY PLAYTIME" She screamed whilst dodging bullets and flicking flaming needles at anyone that stood in her way. A devilish grin spread across the woman's vibrant red lips as the famed killer from a millennia ago began to reclaim her place as one of the most violent and dangerous woman to ever exist...

Before she knew it a fight had broken out. The women who destroyed the the casino was now fighting the red-head women and the women from the poker table was just tearing anyone that got near her apart. She was angry at the women that destroyed her casino. While the red-headed women was keeping her occupied she might as well get behind her and get a strike in. She began to dart towards the women but stopped quickly after. A bullet was in the ground. She looked around and didn't see any gunman. "Snipers?" thought Julia. She smirked, she could settle with whoever shot at her, she could always comeback and attack that women later. She darted in the direction of where she thought the shot came from. She ran in between two building and jumped off the walls, eventually getting to the roof. Well she was a bit off, but spotted a group of snipers a bit away from where she was on a building much higher then what she was one. "Hmm... this is a bit of a problem." Thought Julia. She decided on a way to get to them and decided that the apartment building they were on was close enough. She ran and jumped to the next room and the next roof until she arrived to the building next to one the snipers were on. She then broke into one of the apartments and and made her way to the roof. She walked onto the roof and was greeted by 4 people pointing pistols at her. A fifth person still had her eyes on the scope of her rifle. She guessed she was the one who shot at her.

"You can make it easy on yourselves and drop your guns, I may even let you live." said Julia. Two of her snakes moved from being wrapped around her legs to her arms. "Yeah right don't make any sudden movements. and we won't shoot you ok?" said one of the snipers. He walked over to her, pulling out handcuffs. As soon as he grabbed her arm the taipan, which was wrapped around that arm bit him. He yelled in pain and Julia grabbed him pulling the man in front of her, using his body as a shield as his allies shot at her. She darted from behind the body, getting in range for the snakes to strike at the snipers. once those where down she walked up to the one remaining sniper who pointed her gun at her. "Stand back." said the women. A smile crossed Julia's face as she darted the rest of the way to the sniper. She knocked the gun out of the woman's hand and then forced her to the ground, putting her body weight on the women.
