Another normal day (Sean)
Ah, the wonder of a peaceful day. Hayden hadn't gotten a single phone call all morning. It was noon now. No courier jobs. No mercenary jobs. Nothing to do but sit on the roof of his high-rise apartment complex of some moderate level of solitude with a police scanner and wait for something interesting to happen. For some reason, every time a crime started to be reported, something messed up the signal on Hayden's scanner. He never got a street name to go on. It was as if the universe wanted him bored.
"Screw this. I don't have to just sit here and do nothing."
Hayden stood up, grabbing the scanner and returning it to its hiding place under some parts of the vent system on the roof, then stepped to the edge of the roof. Unfolding a napkin, he held it up to see the wind's direction, then put it back in the pocket of his vest and stepped forward off the edge of the skyscraper, plummeting towards the ground.
That lasted all of two seconds before his Daeva wings materialized on his back and caught the air, pulling him to the west down the street. Daeva now looked down on the world below. Gliding like this was exhilarating, to say the least. The wind was blowing fast enough up at roof level for him to reach speeds of about fourty miles an hour today, by carefully measuring his angle. It was hard to notice anything suspicious at that speed, so after he had travelled about a mile or so, Hayden flared out his wings, slowing his movement through the air to about twenty miles per hour. This change of state didn't last very long either. Something Hayden was forcibly reminded of time and time again was that he had very little control over his movement at these heights. A sudden gust caught him and blew him head over heels towards the waterfront. Thankfully, he was able to fold his wings in and dive out of the air current, spreading them just in time to stop himself from becoming a pancake on a warehouse roof. The warehouse was just as good a place to look at people from as any other building, so Hayden stayed there, looking around. He didn't have to look long to notice something amiss. There were two gang members fighting each other with knives and basically causing all sorts of mayhem as they tried to kill each other. Hayden sighed.
"Better than doing nothing, I guess."
Hayden jumped down off the roof, flapping his wings to slow his descent into an alleyway that hid him from the brawlers' view. He then dismissed his wings and walked out of the alleyway, calling out to the two idiots.
"Hey! What the hell do you think you're doing? You're gonna get someone caught in the middle of this, and then what're ya gonna do?"
The two men stopped trying to murder each other and advanced on Hayden. "What are YOU gonna do, ya scrawny punk?" They seemed to have put aside their differences for the time being. Good. Made it all the easier to scare them. Hayden resummoned his wings yet again, grabbing part of the shining white energy and forming his scythe out of it, spinning it in a dramatic flair before resting the shaft of it across his shoulders so that the blade was at his right side.
"I'm going to ask you two to drop the knives now."
Surprisingly, the meatheads were shocked enough to oblige. They dropped their little blades and scurried off down the road. Visibility was surprisingly good, and Hayden could see them for a couple blocks down the road. Then one of them did something stupid. He knocked over some old lady and took her purse. Hayden was dumbfounded. You would think, upon seeing someone spread brilliant white wings and produce a scythe from them like an angel of death, he'd be scared straight for longer than five seconds. Hayden was so shocked, he didn't give chase until the pair had gotten down the alleyway. Running with his scythe out and wings spread in a dramatic fashon that did nothing to help his speed but looked really cool, he hoped that the alleyway was longer than it had looked from the sky.

Re: Another normal day (Sean)
”What is this?” Sean muttered gazing at the crimson red blade of his katana, giving off a malevolence that seemed to almost beckon him to draw blood. To spill it across the blade, almost as if it were a living thing that needed to be fed. A hunger that Sean never expected to feel from anything, at least at this level of intensity. His eyes moved up to see them looking back within a fog hazed mirror, red ringed gray eyes that seemed to speak of something, that spoke of years of strife and a hunger that could hardly be understood. A primal hunger.
Sean ran a finger down his cheek for a second, over the pale skin that only seemed to have grown paler. Though his reflection had a demented grin slowly forming on its lips, white teeth showing. Something he himself was not doing or so he thought anyway. Without thinking, Sean slammed his fist hard into the mirror as the glass spider webbed and shards fell down upon the floor noisily. There was no pain in it,just the simple motion of his punching the glass. ”What's wrong Sean? Can't take the pressure?” His broken reflection mocked as it let out a haunting laughter, cut short by a whip of crimson liquid that sliced the shard in twain.
Sean looked down to his sliced knuckles with now had a writhing tendril of blood moving from it as if it had a life of its own. He sure had fucked up this time. Aaron was gonna have a heart attack if he saw what Sean had done to his hand. What the hell was going on with him? After a second of thought,he applied a bandage to his hand and left the bathroom, not even looking at the blonde as he left through the front door. It wasn't long before he was walking off and into what seemed like the seedier part of the city. His katana was still strapped along his side, and still hungered for the kill.
Sean was dressed simply as he had been for the entire day. Wearing simple khaki shorts, a black v-neck as well as black and white converse on his feet. Soon enough he was met with some sort of crime in progress. Whether it was a simple purse snatching or something more was of little consequence to Sean;as long as they had blood in their body, they were good for him.
Without a thought he drew the blade and one of the men were going down with a cut that spanned the torso. The other looked at him in what seemed like utter shock as he pointed the crimson blade at him. Though it seemed to glow a pleased aura as if it were enjoying the meal it was being given.
”You're next.”

Re: Another normal day (Sean)
Daeva ran towards the corner and slid to a stop as he turned, folding his wings back so that they were barely past the width of his shoulders and wouldn't clip on anything. He was shocked to see one of the two idiot criminals down on the ground with the old lady's purse next to him, the other one shocked and held at swordpoint by someone with a blood red katana. On closer inspection, he saw the downed one had a long cut along his torso.
"Bloody hell, man! What're you doing, using the blade on idiots like these?"
He walked in between the shocked criminal and the mysterious person, tripping the gang member with the flat of the scythe blade. The message was clear, even to someone like him; next time, the leg comes off. An idle threat, but much more intimidating than making that same idle threat with words.
"He's an idiot, but he didn't deserve a hit like that."
Hayden turned his head towards the unwounded gang member.
"Call 911 and get an ambulance here for your rival and some cops here for the both of you."
The man just nodded and pulled out his cell phone, dialing and talking to the operator in a deranged voice. In the meantime, Hayden stood between the swordsman and the criminals.
"I'm Daeva. Now, mind telling me exactly who you are and why you're trying to kill these people?"

Re: Another normal day (Sean)
” I'm killing them, I thought it would be obvious.” Sean said raising an eyebrow at the guys shock of him doing so,eyes drifting back down to the pitiful form of the dying criminal, who didn't die as quick as he had anticipated. Not that it mattered to him though, he would be dead soon enough.
” I think he deserved it. Thats all that matters to me really.” He said with a dark glint in his eyes. As he considered the many ways to kill the man frantically dialing the number into his phone. As his hand drifted over the bandage on his damage knuckles. ”Come on weird blood powers, don't fail me now.” He metnally prayed as a single drop of blood fell from his knuckle. If he was correct,he could force his red blood cells to multiply, consideirng the amount of blood he had been able to form.
Which was more than the human body had in itself. Finally replying to his mental command, the drop stopped mid air and began to seemingly increase in size as it formed a long and thin tendril. Quickly slicing into the chest of the one with the phone as he let out a gout of blood from his mouth and fell to the ground. Deadly weapon of blood returning to Sean as it coild around him.
”Guess that complicates things. Have to finish this quick before I can get implicated for anything.”

Re: Another normal day (Sean)
Hayden was shocked as the man made a single drop of blood elongate into some sort of piercing coil and strike the man with the phone dead in the chest. I have fucking WINGS. Does that not impress people in this city? It was impressive in Chicago! he thought to himself. His face was clearly confused and angry, with a bit more of the anger showing through than confusion.
"You're not a judge, punk. And what you just did made you as much of a criminal as those two idiots were. If they do survive, it'll be a pain in the ass convicting them, what with all the pity they'll get from a jury in their state. If they don't, and you bolt, I'm gonna be taking the heat for it."
Daeva stepped closer and spun his scythe along his side, stopping it by striking the back of it against the ground and holding it upright with the blade pointed towards the blood manipulator.
"So, if you don't mind, I'll be keeping you here until somebody with real authority shows up."
Hayden flared his wings out as much as he could in the confined space to emphasize his point, managing about half his wingspan. He was a tad passionate about his hobby today. Hopefully it wouldn't get him into trouble.

Re: Another normal day (Sean)
”Cute. You think your little weapons can stop me from walking away?” Sean scoffed raising an eyerbow as the blood from his knuckles seemed to multiply as they formed into what seemed like a hundred minuscule orbs of blood orbiting around him. Quickly condensing into what seemed like a crude scythe made of blood that Sean easily twirled about in his hand before pointing it at the man in his way.
”Honestly I don't intend to let you stay in my way, so either you move or I cut you into pieces, then move you myself.” His eyes showed how serious he was and there would be no holding back with him if they did fight.
